The Best Specialty Salsa Brands, According to Eater Editors | Eater

"A Houston company that pairs Asian staples with Tex‑Mex traditions; their kimchi salsa uses locally fermented, unpasteurized kimchi to create a bright, spicy sauce that adds a punch to breakfast tacos and other dishes." - Eater Staff

Edit: it most definitely came from the kimchi because it was neatly tucked into a piece of cabbage when I picked it up with my spoon it fell out! Take responsibility for not thoroughly checking your product. Such a despicable company. When I called the “owner” answered and laughed about my experience and started rambling off about something completely off topic. This place is disgusting for not checking their product! I bought two jars of kimchi from HEB and as I was eating it I found a worm in my kimchi!!!! This is so disgusting and this place needs to be thoroughly checked! Never buying from them again and hopefully everyone will see this and not buy it either. I’m posting this EVERYWHERE!!!

I’m never disappointed by the Kimchi. It pops like no other. Always fresh, always delicious. I eat the whole dang jar in one sitting. Drives my wife crazy. Tried some from another company and it tasted stale and sour in comparison. This stuff is like crack cocaine. I Banyan.

Best kimchi ever! I miss their fried rice and glass noodles. Please let me know if any store sell it in Houston!

Love the chipotle egg rolls as well as the noddle dishes. Hard to find but central market has been the best place to find.

I love Banyan Foods!! I've been buying their tofu at HEB since I turned vegan over ten years ago. But I've also loved and enjoyed their tofu tamales and their kimchi! I love that they are a small Texas business and feel proud that I can support them. Unfortunately, many of their products have been disappearing from shelves here in San Antonio the last few years. I hope more stores like Whole Foods and Sprouts will maybe step up and start carrying them. Or HEB will realize how small and local this business is and start carrying their products again. I may have to make a road trip to Houston just to stock up!

The Houston Metropolitan area is blessed to have a local-owned company that has been producing quality food products since 1978. The family business works tirelessly to continue to make improvements and renovations. My wife and I are happy consumers of Banyan Tofu and Soy products as we want to adapt to a healthier diet. We use a lot of their products as ingredients in making our food too. I have full confidence in recommending Banyan Foods for its products and services. I trust that they will continue to expand and maintain a high standard of their products.

I've fallen madly in love! From their tubs of tofu to their wraps, tamales, and kimchi salsa.. I haven't had a single unsavory experience with any of their products, unless you count the overextended food baby belly I get after! They're family owned, the company born right here in Texas. During the pandemic they made moves to continue providing their customers with delicious products by making home deliveries. I'm not sure how moved they'll be knowing some random white girl stuffs their wraps with Buffalo chicken, but I'm a buyer for life!

Yelp
I met Banyan foods for the first time in Whole Foods Market last weekend. I don't know who the lady was who was handing out the samples, but she was super nice. We bought the tofu fried rice and the red tofu tamales. Both were amazing. Reading more about them has inspired me to continue to buy from them Simply awesome! GReggo

Yelp
Strictly - Chipotle Tofu Egg Rolls. These are hit the spot if you're craving Eggrolls from the Chinese restaurants or uh hmmm....gas stations. They're vegan eggrolls filled with tofu and veggies with a Pineapple Tomato Sauce. I thought the sauce sounded weird...pineapple tomato? What the heck? Whatever....delicioso! Good stuff!

Yelp
It is a little strange to review a business based on their product that I found in the grocery store (HEB, San Marcos, TX), but Banyan Foods makes the most awesome stuff, and when I saw they had a Yelp, I had to throw them five stars. Why? Well, we've been eating Banyan tofu for years, and it is always great and affordable. Knowing that it is (sorta) local to Central Texas makes it even better. Why would you buy weird Wal-Mart tofu if you could get this? Also, their Kim-Chi is great as well. Unfortunately our local store stopped carrying it, but they did start carrying other Banyan stuff like vegan lo-mein and fried rice! I wish we could get the whole line of Banyan stuff around here, but San Marcos is a little behind the vegan curve (well, a lot behind it, but who's counting). I wonder if you can go to the Banyan factory and see tofu being made? That would be awesome!

Yelp
Banyan Foods is AMAZING! Not only is the lo mein vegetarian, but it's vegan. And I like how it's GMO free. Banyan foods is going to be a staple in our frig from now on :) I just hope they keep making more choices of entrees. I highly recommend anything from Banyan Foods if you want something healthy and TASTY. LOVE, love, love it!

Yelp
All of their food is amazing! I always tell my non-vegan friends to give it a shot and they are now believers! Thank you!
