Unfortunately, my stay at Banyan Tree Doha was disappointing.
One day before arrival, the hotel contacted me and sent a form which I completed, clearly stating that I would arrive late. They confirmed that everything would be ready. However, upon arrival, the front desk agent informed me that I had been upgraded and confirmed that a twin bed suite was available.
When I entered the room, it turned out to be a king bed, not a twin. When I returned to the reception, the agent acted as if he was not aware of what had been promised. The hotel was fully booked, but honesty and transparency are essential, especially after confirming details in advance.
Eventually, an extra bed was offered for one night only, which was not an acceptable solution.
Breakfast service was also slow; I had to request the same item multiple times before receiving it. In addition, room dining lacked proper communication. If the hotel is busy, guests should be informed about possible delays, which unfortunately did not happen.
Even during check-out, there was a delay in bringing a trolley to collect our luggage.
This was my first experience with Banyan Tree, and sadly it left a negative impression. While I appreciate the efforts of some staff members, the lack of professionalism from others significantly affected the overall experience.
