"Rosedale restaurant Banzai Sushi & Grill closed its North Lamar location. Its last day was yesterday, Tuesday, January 1. According to the Facebook post, it doesn't rule out a future Austin location." - Nadia Chaudhury

I've been coming to Banzai since they were on the drag with lines snaking around the corner. Thought that moving would be their death but here they are still hanging in there. For me this is as good as it gets for non-sushi Japanese cuisine. The Japanese style chicken curry is spot on. The miso great. All the appetizers crush it. Standing above it all though is the eternal debate: katsu or katsudon? Pork katsudon won this time. Both are phenomenal though.

Nice restaurant, fresh. They have some combo sets but not too wide a variety. I ordered combo B (6.99), a little pricey for one california roll. I also ordered 2 salmon sushi for 4 something. I still think it's a little pricey.

They have very little Gluten Free items on there menu. How I love sushi & the one from here is good. Not as good as in New York City...but it will do. They staff was very helpful & knowledgeable of the menu items. They smile, & welcome you as you walk in the door.

Favorite after-work spot. Usually very quiet atmosphere, which I love. Great sushi and very reasonably priced. Realize that this is NOT a full service restaurant(you order at the counter and take a number; 7$ minimum for cards) but all you have to do is ask and you shall receive. They do bubble tea too!

It's a nice, dining experience for Japanese fast food. It tastes good. It gets 4 stars because it's also middle of the road. Decent enough food, costs a little more, friendly staff. Just nothing particularly special.

This wonderful restaurant is one of my go to places for sushi. The entrees are great with good portion size and the service is quick and efficient. Lunch and dinner are a big busy but they maintain the rush fairly well. Highly recommend.

Food is on par with what you'd expect from a good sushi place. The staff are really nice, & the food is served promptly... Though I gotta say, this place lacks a bit of atmosphere, which means: don't bring a date here!

This place is one of my favorites. Often overlooked across the road from Central Market it's a quiet spot to enjoy great Japanese food at a reasonable cost. Not fancy but similar to streetside restaurants I enjoyed while living in Japan. Try the Katsudon it's good. Kids will love the bubble tea smoothie.
