If you’re ever in Downtown and craving some Asian fusion, you have to check out BAO Brewhouse. I had the garlic rice and the spicy fried chicken BAO—and both hit the spot. The garlic rice was super flavorful, definitely lived up to the name, and the portion was big enough to share with two or three people. Now, the spicy fried chicken BAO? On point. Perfect balance of heat and crunch, packed with flavor. The atmosphere is just as impressive—great vibes all around. And let’s not forget the cocktails. Seriously, some of the best I’ve had in town. Big shoutout to their bartender, Wolf—this guy knows his craft. Hands down, best bartender in the city. Don’t sleep on this place. BAO Brewhouse is a gem.

We came here for a lunch and were positively surprised how delicious the food was! I really liked their soup dumplings and fried chicken bao, and my friend loved their Philly cheesesteak dumplings. Our waitress was very attentive and gave us good tips. We will definitely be back!

Great restaurant with some fun vibes. Friendly staff and delicious food. We were big fans of the crispy rice topped with bluefin tuna. It is served with jalapeño, eel sauce and spicy mayo and house-made pork soup dumplings, served with sweet black vinegar and chili oil. We also tried the half Peking duck which included crispy 5 spice roasted duck, bao buns, cucumbers, scallion, carrots, daikon sprouts, cilantro, and plum sauce. Lastly we had the fried green beans with garlic, ginger, honey Sichuan sauce, crispy onions, and furikake seasoning. Now for my standard comments. Location is clean and well kept. Indoor seating options are very comfortable.

Epic meal at Bao Brewhouse, just a 6 minute walk from Temple Buell Theater. We ate upstairs in the Tea Room, slightly different menu than the Tap Room downstairs. Big on the Pig was some of the best Gyoza we’ve ever had. Yuza Tuna Tartare was exceptional. DIY Lettuce Wraps were delightful. Fantastic meal, we will return!

Google
This place is definitely a go-to lunch/ dinner spot; especially for a date night. Highly recommend only getting one dish, appetizer(s), and some drinks. Entree portions are definitely enough for 2 people. That and an appetizer would get you right. If you need food substitutions or add-ons, you can easily do so within the menu you scan through QR.

Was visiting Denver and came across this place on a whim. We were trying to find a restaurant that was open late on a weekday & got here just an hour before they closed. The staff were nice & we got seated right away on the first floor/tap room. Ordering on your phone was easy through the QR code. Food was brought out timely and everything we ordered was so delicious! Especially enjoyed the cocktails! Loved the ambiance of the restaurant, it gave very modern vibes with the decor, paintings, and lights. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area!

Bao Brewhouse in Denver is a hidden gem that masterfully blends bold Asian flavors with an impressive drink selection in a sleek, modern setting. Located in the heart of downtown, this two-story spot offers an elevated yet welcoming experience, making it an excellent choice for a casual night out, date night, or even a solo meal at the bar. The star of the show here is, of course, the bao buns. Soft, pillowy, and perfectly balanced with flavorful fillings, these buns are a must-try. The menu offers a variety of options, ranging from traditional to more innovative takes, all executed with precision. Whether you go for the classic pork belly bao, with its melt-in-your-mouth meat and sweet-savory hoisin glaze, or a more unique option like the crispy tofu bao, there’s something to satisfy every craving. The buns are consistently fresh, light, and just the right size—substantial enough to be satisfying but not too heavy, making it easy to try multiple flavors in one sitting. Beyond the bao, the menu at Bao Brewhouse is excellent across the board. It’s well-curated, offering a mix of small plates, noodles, dumplings, and shareable dishes that highlight rich, authentic flavors with a modern twist. The dumplings are another standout, with delicate wrappers encasing juicy, well-seasoned fillings. The balance of textures and flavors in every dish is impressive, showing the kitchen’s attention to detail and commitment to quality. If you’re a fan of noodles, don’t skip out on their offerings, which are equally well-executed. The broths are deeply flavorful, and the noodle dishes have just the right level of spice, umami, and freshness. Of course, the drink program at Bao Brewhouse is just as strong as the food. The beer selection is solid, featuring both local brews and options that pair well with the bold flavors of the dishes. The cocktail menu is also worth exploring, offering creative takes that incorporate Asian ingredients and house-made syrups. Whether you’re in the mood for something refreshing, strong, or slightly sweet, there’s a drink that will complement your meal perfectly. The ambiance at Bao Brewhouse is another reason to visit. The space is stylish and thoughtfully designed, with a relaxed yet vibrant energy. The downstairs area has a cozy, intimate feel, while the upstairs bar brings a livelier vibe, making it a great spot to grab drinks with friends. The lighting, decor, and overall layout contribute to an inviting experience that feels trendy without being pretentious. Service is friendly and efficient, with staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. Even when it gets busy, the team does a great job of keeping things running smoothly while maintaining a welcoming attitude. Bao Brewhouse is a must-visit for anyone in Denver looking for delicious, well-crafted food in a great setting. The bao buns alone are worth the trip, but the full menu is so well-executed that you’ll find yourself wanting to come back to try more. Whether you’re a fan of Asian cuisine or just looking for a unique dining experience, this spot delivers on all fronts.

Lina and her team knocked it out of the park. We rented the upstairs tea room. I received so many compliments the next day about how this was the best corporate offsite dinner venue we’ve had for the team. The staff was wonderful, attentive, detail oriented and the ambiance could not be beat (private bar , tables and standing areas with a beautiful modern Asian decor backdrop). Thank you for making our event a success!

Yelp
We arrived at Bao House straight from the airport after a 4 hour flight delay and were starving. A bowl of rice or a plate of noodles was all I wanted in the world. Luckily, Bao Brewhouse delivered. Matthew C. was the BEST server, and the buns, xiao long bao, and other food didn't disappoint. I was the happiest woman on earth at this point. Thanks so much for taking care of us Matthew C.!

Yelp
Definitely worth a try on a Tuesday when they have their AYCE dumplings! Be warned though, it's limited to Xiao Long Bao and one other pre-selected dumpling. They also only put in one order at a time (5-6 dumplings) and you could easily be waiting 15mins between orders. That being said, the dumplings were tasty, though a little bit small. We ordered one other dumpling from the menu which was also yummy! Overall I felt like the quality of the food was good, but I'd be hesitant to come back due to the pricing/portion ratios unless you're willing to splurge a little. On top of that, parking is difficult in the area and can be pricey too (we paid $20 for two hours in the lot across the way) The inside has two floors, upstairs had a bit more intimate/moody lighting, while downstairs felt more bright and casual. Service was nice, decor was interesting, probably a good place for a date considering it's close to Larimer Square and other downtown spots.

Yelp
This spot came highly recommended by a local, and it might just be my new favorite Chinese restaurant. The food is served family-style, but my boyfriend devoured an entire order of the cheeseburger dumplings on his own, he loved them that much (not pictured). The fried rice portion was massive, easily enough to share between three people when paired with other dishes. The service was excellent, and the staff were super friendly, even jumping in to share their personal favorites and recommendations, which we really appreciated. We sat upstairs in the tea room where the music was bumping, so if you're looking for a quieter vibe or don't want to raise your voice to chat, I'd recommend grabbing a table downstairs instead. We will be back!

Yelp
Solid tasty food here! Busy but very attentive wait staff! Super hard working and caring people always taking care of us when we come in. I enjoy both the upstairs experience where sometimes they have events as well like the drag brunch we went to over Pride. Or also to get in quickly eating downstairs at a high top is also an excellent experience. Top quality drinks and the food is always rich in flavor and great to split lots of different bites with friends and family here. My personal favorites are the drunken noodles here and the beef bao bun. It's a fun vibe inside and love the decor here and the lighting. Upstairs and downstairs have different styles but come together nicely and have their own thing. Crystal especially enjoys the tea upstairs! It's become one of our new favorites to go to again and again now!

Yelp
Finally we made it here. Always wanted to try this place! Parking is always tricky in downtown area, street parking it is! Although they have several parking lots and structures around. We came for lunch right when it opened. The waiter was nice and attentive. It's QR code ordering, which is quite convenient IMO and you just pay your tab right then or keep it open. You can also order with your waiter as well. We sat on the first floor in a little nook, since it's just us two. The ambiance gives out a cool-underground-speakeasy-hidden vibe. Lots of decor and their menu prices ends with $.88!!! You know what that means - FORTUNE!!! The number 8 in Chinese is a good luck number and also means fortune/money. Anyhow, my friend ordered the lunch special - 2 items for $14.88. She had the Bao belly buns and Rangoons. I ordered the Peking Noodle Soup. I did wanted the Yang Gui Fei, but it wasn't on their menu at the time. (btw, their menu changes frequently so don't always go off the pictures on Yelp!) My noodle soup was okay. I have had more authentic than this. The peking duck did was not tender, but chewy, and it didn't have the 5 spice flavor. I tasted black pepper on the skin and it was just not what I expected. Overall it was a good experience. My friend enjoyed her buns and rangoons, but not her beer. Not sure which she got, but not enjoyable according her face expression after the first sip. Glad we came to try it out.

Yelp
What are you doing next Tuesday? Cancel it. Because Bao Brewhouse has something called Dump 'Em Out, and yes, it's unlimited soup dumplings. And yes, it's as glorious as it sounds. I went in for dumplings and left in a dumpling-induced bliss. Let's talk highlights: Pork Xiang Long Bao - These house-made pork soup dumplings are classic, comforting, and hit all the right savory notes. Especially good with the chili oil + sweet black vinegar. Mother Clucker - The June Dumpling of the Month and honestly? This fried chicken dumpling might have changed me. Corn, ginger, garlic, green onion, and lemongrass packed into a crispy dumpling with their treasure aioli and hot mustard? Unreal. Crab Cheese Rangoon - Easily the most extra (in the best way) rangoon I've had. Giant chunks of crab, a sweet + spicy pineapple sauce, and the perfect amount of crunch. S&S Short Rib Bao - Tender, fall-apart short rib, paired with a cherry-pomegranate glaze and spicy apple slaw, all inside a perfectly steamed bao bun. I'd come back for this alone. Drinks? A+ all around. My favorites were the Paper Crane (mezcal, hibiscus, yuzu--bright, smoky, and slightly bitter) and the Blueberry Lavender French 75 for something floral and refreshing. Vibe: Cool, trendy, but not try-hard. The space is gorgeous, and service was great. Bottom line: Don't sleep on this spot. Whether you're a dumpling fan or just want a fun night out with top-tier drinks and bold flavors, Bao Brewhouse delivers. And if you go on a Tuesday? Even better.

Yelp
It's kind of hard to park, but after that, it gets better. I've been a few times now, and I've never left disappointed. The music is always hip, but the type of hip differs. I've sat downstairs when the dubstep was loud and I've sat upstairs when the house music was at a nice level for dinner conversation. The food is consistently good, but it seems like I always order something that they're out of. Lots of options though! Overall, 4 stars for a few small food/service mishaps and items mentioned above, BUT, they keep me coming back!

Yelp
My friend and I came on Tuesday for the unlimited Soup Dumplings day! It's $30 a person for unlimited Soup dumplings that comes out 5 at a time. My favorite was the beef soup dumplings and they also had a fried chicken one. We got SO FULL. It was so good though! My only wish is that they had more than 2 flavors of dumplings. Service was fantastic and they came around a lot to fill us up on dumplings. I love the atmosphere, they had a live dj on a Tuesday night! How awesome! Can't wait to back!

Yelp
I have gone a few more times since this review. We did a dinner both upstairs once and downstairs again. We also came to drag brunch during pride to see our friend Richi Ramos and it has been everything! Bao is becoming one of our new go to's. We came here again tonight and sat downstairs. We got a table right away and immediately got our faves plus another dish to try new. I love the Bao buns of course I really like the beef one they have! I also love the drunken noodles and we get ours with steak. Ryan got a new dish with shrimp skewers and rice this time. I got a cosmo and he got a margarita of course. They are so good at coming by with plenty of water and checking in on you and making sure you are so well taken care of here. I was so happy and impressed with how clean everything was and quickly picking up after each guest and I just really appreciate the service here. I want to give a big shout out to all the server but especially Matt C ! Matt C. served us at the brunch and again tonight. He went out of his way to take care of Ryan due to his allergy. I'm always so happy and impressed when people do this for us because it's kind of a weird allergy but he was well versed in what to do and was so kind and helpful. Again all our servers have been amazing and work so hard and are a big reason we come back here. The food always comes out fresh and hot and pretty quickly for the type of food it is. And I like the whole vibe here. Of course we had a blast at the brunch and are so happy that Bao is so quick for us to get to whenever we want - how lucky are we ?

Yelp
Fun atmosphere, good setup. If you get put on the waitlist, there's a great cocktail lounge just steps away with cozy seating. Food was amazing. We shared all the dishes & bao. Fabulous vegetarian buns & dishes ! Now one of my all time favorite places to go while visiting Denver !! Can't wait to go back ;)!

Yelp
The aesthetics of this place is right up my alley. I loved being here and enjoying our drinks and food! Upon our first night visiting Denver, I had made a reservation for this place. It was easy to find and was within a ten minute walk of our hotel. The drinks are cute. We got one in a bar jar. The crispy chicken wings are delicious. Their soup dumplings are just right! It was delicious and our server was a super sweet lady! Totally would come here again when I can!

Yelp
Great spot for creative and fun drinks! They even have a "tiki" cup you can take home after finishing your drink! Came by as part of a pre-comedy show bar crawl and was greeted by incredibly friendly staff that made sure our crew was well taken care of. Definitely would recommend for a future visit!

Yelp
The food is delicious! We had the Big on the Pig, Mighty Cluckers, Pork Xiao Long Bao, and Fried Chicken Bao. We sat at the bar and our server. Wolf, made the whole experience great by helping us make selections for food and drinks and we can't wait to go back!

Yelp
We went to the upstairs tea room for a Saturday night date night. I'd recommend getting reservations as it was pretty busy, but the ambiance was very cute and intimate. They were playing super upbeat music, but it didn't deter from the vibe. The mocktails were great! The non-groni was as close to a Negroni as I've had. For the food - I don't know if I had my expectations too high from hearing about this place for a while, but I was disappointed. The dim sum was fine, but nothing amazing. Our favorite was the Big on the Pig, which was crunch and spicy, and then the short rib bao buns, which was marinated very well. Despite this, neither blew our minds. The soup dumplings had no soup in them. The Yang Kwei Fei stole the show. The duck and pork belly were tender, the noodles were cooked to perfection, and the entire dish was full of flavor. This alone was a 8.5/10 dish! Definitely recommend. In all, we would have walked away not coming back here if we hadn't decided to split an entree. So, if you go, I'd skip the dim sum and split 2 entrees!
google avatar

Madi H.

Yelp
My partner and I came here to celebrate her birthday in the tea room upstairs. The service was great, the food was DELICIOUS, and the vibes are incredible. I've been here for dim sum downstairs, but the food upstairs is "elevated" and they aren't lying about it. The rangoons with king crab and Szechuan peppers made me rethink worry I could never go back to regular crab cheese wontons again. The mushroom dumplings were so tasty as well. The cocktails are all incredibly fun and the infusion of tea is such noticeably nice touch. Would happily celebrate any occasion here again.

Yelp

Yelp
This place is super underplayed. My husband I sat in the lower level tap room. We sat at a communal table but felt like we very much had our own space. The restaurant is stylistically perfect, neon, and so very cool. The food matched the vibes. This part of the restaurant is contactless, so you order from a QR code and pace out your own food/drink. We loved everything we ate so follow your stomach and eat to your hearts content. We got two rounds of Asian brews to try as much as possible on the beer menu.
google avatar

Lauren L.

Yelp
Service was great and this place is super vibey with all the neon lights and decor, but the food was just alright. Fave thing was probably the sweet soy bao, it had a good flavor. The big on the pig dumplings were bigger on the chili crisp, so it overpowered the dish. And the shrimp shumai was heavy on the tobiko/bonito flavor so it had more of a salmon/fishy taste than traditional shumai. Would prob just come back here for drinks and trying some of the other bao specific menu items.
google avatar

Glynnis K.

Yelp
The food is delicious here. I recommend the cheese ragoons and lucky buddah beers. Great ambiance in the main taphouse but if you are looking for a fancier vibe head to the tea house for a classier night.

Yelp
Alright, so two years ago, I stopped by for a quick bite at Bao Brewhouse and was absolutely blown away. While planning my trip to Denver this time around, I made it a point to plan a full dinner there to relive the deliciousness on a bigger scale. We arrived after a concert, 20 minutes before closing, only to be told that the kitchen was already closed. Understandable. Disappointed but determined, we decided to try again the next day. I booked a 10 PM reservation on OpenTable for their Teahouse. Not long after, I get a call from someone named Wolfe, informing me they close at that time. I was 1.5 hours away, so the earliest I could make it was 9:40. I explained that we wanted to grab the In-N-Out Buns which, are only available at the bar before heading to our 10 PM reservation upstairs. Wolfe asked that we head straight to our reservation instead, promising to make the baos happen if we mentioned his name. We arrive at 9:35, only to be told to wait. Weird considering they were supposedly in a rush for me to order the second I arrived?? When I'm finally seated, it took a while for anyone to come by. Finally, when our waiter comes by, I mention Wolfe's promise about the baos, and my waiter says, "Well, I talked to Wolfe too, and we can only give it to you to-go." But why when I had already planned to eat at the bar first, then head up for my reservation?? Maybe updating your reservation timings on OpenTable would avoid issues? After we finally order, our waiter returns to inform us that the only things left on the menu are a steak and a fish, and now he can "make the baos happen." Lol, alright. The baos, when they finally arrive, were as delicious as expected, but the shrimp chips were 100% stale. When I point this out, our waiter awkwardly laughs and walks away. A minute later, he returns to say "unfortunately, that's just how they are." Seriously? What?? Service 0/5. I don't care how good the rest of the food was, the service absolutely ruined my experience.

Yelp
This was a great spot for dinner before a show at The Buell. My daughter and I had reservations at the tea house upstairs. I will note it is a historic building and thus not accessible for any mobility issues. It took me a bit to get up the stairs to the second floor. The space between tables is tight. Our server was pleasant. He gave us some recommendations and answered our questions. We got a pot of jasmine tea to go with our dinner. It was served in a small cast iron pot to keep it hot. We ordered several items to share. The Pork Xiao Long Bao had five pieces. They were pork soup dumplings with sweet black vinegar and chili oil. Very tasty. We both love crab Rangoons so we had to order theirs. It had the signature crunch with the delicate filling. Each was topped with a piece of succulent crab and it came with pineapple sweet and sour sauce. That also had five pieces. So good! Next was Big on the Pig, five spicy pork dumplings with scallions, fried onions, spicy chili crisp and chili oil. The last item we chose was the Char Sui Bao. Three steamed barbecue pork bao buns with oyster sauce, scallion, daikon sprouts, furikake seasoning and sambal hoisin. They were delicate and pillowy. The filling had good flavor. We enjoyed our dinner. It is pricy, but you are downtown.

Yelp
I came here with a friend to catch up over dinner and drinks. I like the concept of the casual dining. However, it is not a true dining experience because you order all your food via a QR code and do not have dedicated service. This is a great option to have a quick quality dinner before going to an event or sports game at Ball Arena. This dining experience is smaller plates meant to be shared. I do not know if the price is the best value for what you get. However, the food quality is good. The staff that does come to serve you drinks and food after ordering are very kind. There is seating upstairs to have a more intimate dining experience, but it requires reservations. You can usually easily get a spot at a high top table on the main floor. Personally, I really like the decor in the vibe inside. I will return here but not go out of my way.

Yelp
Treat yourself! And that's exactly what we did!!! My friends and I found this gem and we are so happy with our experience! First of all Skylar was amazing! He was kind, thoughtful, and answered all of our questions about the menu. We decided to share all of the food since this was our first time here. The food was some of the best I have ever had! The baos were so soft and the duck was cooked to perfection! The drinks were mixed well but not very strong. The noodle dish that we got was spicy and the duck in it was by far my favorite! Overall this place is such a vibe and I want to go back!

Yelp
I am obsessed with this place! The vibe, the music, the FOOD... it's basically perfect! Even the mystery shots we ordered were awesome. Our waiter (I didn't catch his name) was super sweet. I highly recommend!

Yelp
I am really conflicted about this place because it is great but also mostly bad at the same time. Not consistent at all. GOOD: -I ordered their Yang kwei fei. It is a smoked duck entree. It's incredible. The duck is the best duck I have ever had. All the ingredients in this dish pair really well together. -Nice decor, I love how different the two levels are. BAD: -Their deal unlimited dumplings is a total scam. They limit the time you can be there 1.5 hours, but then will only bring you 4 dumplings everything 30 min if you are lucky. Sometimes taking longer so really they come out barely bringing you barely any food and you spend your whole visit just sitting around not eating. They claim to serve every 18-25 minutes. Which is a long time already to wait and can't even honor that. Totally disrespectful to their customers. -Prices expensive. - I also just can't get behind a place that just doesn't have a happy hour when they are so pricey. That's a red flag in my opinion. - Rice was not cooked well. It was hard and dried out. - Staff are slow here, you will have to flag them down for everything. -The ingredients in my drink were not fresh. The garnish leaf was brown. Honestly I would not come back to this place regardless of the fact that my Yang kwei fei was so good. Good luck to them having loyal customers with the way they treat those dining in.

Yelp
We came here for a weekend dinner. The staff was super friendly. When we ordered something that they had run out of, they gave us a replacement dish for free. They brought extra, free food and drinks for our kids. They were very thoughtful. The vibe is trendy and fun. It's a great place for a night out with friends. We ordered a ton of food so we had yummy leftovers for additional meals...bonus!! The menu has small bites, as well as, large dishes. Family style is the way to go with all of it. Order a few dim sum dishes and a couple of larger items to share. You should first start with a fun drinks. Their cocktail menu has a bunch of fun options. I got the White Lotus. It was sweet, but not overly done. For food. we ordered: DIY spring rolls - think spring rolls meets lettuce wraps. You put the spring roll in a lettuce cup and top it with sauces and toppings EV-erything mushroom dumplings - a delicious small bite that sits in a shallow serving of sauce Big on the pig - stir fried pork potstickers Shrimp Shumai - traditional small bite shumai Garlic fried rice with crab - this was a large dish packed with lots of veggies Spicy yaki-soba - soba noodles with veggies. We had roasted duck and chicken with ours. Drunken noodle - I loved this dish. The noodles were al dente and full of flavor. Tuna tartare - yummy cubes of tuna, surrounded by creamy avocado and wonton crisps. Tiger prawns - giant, fried prawns with dipping sauces. Although all the dishes were great, my favorites were the drunken noodle, fried rice, tuna tartare, tiger prawns, yaki-soba, and spring rolls. I highly recommend Bao.

Yelp
Bao Brewhouse? I find it embarrassing that both their baos and brews sucked. I'm not sure if it's because I'm coming from the Bay Area where dumplings are actually good but this food was baaaaaad. Everything was missing flavor but coming in at bottom two are the mushroom dumplings and shrimp shumai. They honestly tasted like they came from Trader Joe's. The best thing here was the soup dumpling but it also wasn't the best. I got one cocktail and it was bad, similar to something you would get from Chili's. For my first meal in Denver the bar was set pretty low, pretty much in hell. (Sorry didn't take any pics because they were just sooo bad) Waiter was nice but halfway through meal she disappeared and we had to flag someone down to pay

Yelp
I used to frequent this space when it was Euclid Hall; have been to Bao before but only for a beer. This time I was curious about the food. Loved the house music that was playing - gave an energetic vibe. You pick your seat in the tap room and then click the QR Code to look at the menu, and place an order. Good happy hour prices that go until 5:00. I was able to get my order in just at 5! Beer, everything mushroom dumplings, pork long Bao and garlic fried rice. A variety of runners bring everything to you. Super nice staff. I felt like the food was good but it didn't blow me away. Fun to try however if you are in a group.

Yelp
Downtown is just a bunch of darkly lit restaurants upstairs because the only light upstairs were all red. It was difficult to read the menu and you can't adjust the candle because it's a real fire instead of just decorative light. When we were here, they had a DJ so it was kinda loud. This is an Asian fusion restaurant so everything was quite pricey. The soup dumplings were very small compared to other locations that are small Asian family owned restaurants. Most of the food items were just meh and didn't really stand out. The hamachi fried rice was interesting.

Yelp
We had reservations on the 2nd floor tea house. It's a lounge vibe with pretty loud music. The food is reasonably priced for a niche eatery. Not exactly authentic Chinese food but still quite tasty. We enjoyed all of the food and specialty drinks.

Yelp
Cute little Asian fusion restaurant. Make reservations if you don't want to wait. We waited 45 mins and just went to the place next door to have some drinks so it was actually perfect. You order on your phone and the food/drinks come out exceptionally fast. I like the concept because you can just keep placing orders like if you wanted more sauce or another drink etc. This place was recommended by a friend and I can say it did not disappoint. It's great for family style so you can share everything. Everything has nice flavor and a great spice in the noodles. Our favs were the drunken express and Brussels. The cheeseburger dumplings were exactly what would think they are. You must order the sauces, the chili oil and treasure were my favorites. The only thing our table wasn't a huge fan was the hot and sour soup. The menu is vast. Many drink options, something for everyone. We will be back. The atmosphere was fun and vibey.

Yelp
We visited on a Monday night, when I was confused that I could make a reservation for downstairs (usually walk-in only), but on Mondays they do not open their upstairs tea room at all. Downstairs is scan at your table and they bring you food. It's a long menu, so you'll be spending some time scrolling. The decor is really cute and fun, with campy Asian decor and some neon and an unobtrusive TV above the bar. We wanted to try a bunch of things, so we ordered 2 types of dumplings (Big on the Pig and Mother Clucker), wings, and char siu bao. The bao came out first and it was delicious, if a bit skimpy on the filling. The sambal sauce was really good. Then we waited. And waited. By then we had pretty much finished our drinks so we ordered another round. A server brought the chicken dumplings and some bao, which we explained was not ours. We ate the chicken dumplings, which were fine. They came with an aioli and a "Chinese hot mustard" that was mostly sweet, not hot. Then we waited some more. We noticed other tables were getting their food -- and one that came in after us had three dishes at once, which made us wonder why we only got one at a time, with a gap between each. (It's only 5 dumplings, doesn't take that long to eat.) Big on the Pig arrived and we ate those. They were fine, pretty greasy though, and had some tasty topping of scallions and ... bonito? Then the sesame/red bean paste balls arrived, but we wanted those for dessert (as billed on the menu), so we set them aside and waited for the wings. The wings finally came and we enjoyed them -- they had a very spicy Gochujang sauce. Finally we ate the sesame balls too. My husband had to use the restroom and said it was a bummer to have no paper towels (just a hand dryer) .... And one of the urinals was overflowing, which was unappetizing at best. When we closed out, the tipping option automatically selected was 25%, which felt like a bit much considering the job was to bring us our food and set it on the table. There wasn't anyone to explain or ask why it was taking so long. The whole meal set us back $150 for 10 dumplings, 2 bao, 5 sesame balls and 6 wings, plus 3 beers and a cocktail. I couldn't help reflecting that at Dumpling Kitchen, the (delicious) dumplings and bao would have been $18 vs $45 here.

Yelp
This is a disappointing review to write as I've been looking forward to experiencing Bao nightlife. We made a reservation upstairs for New Years and called ahead to make a reservation and ensure there was something happening for the New Year which we were told there would be a DJ present to ring the new year. Upon arrival, our server Matthew threw some jabs at us and rushed our drinks and food as well. He told us we couldn't order drinks anymore as it was final call and that the upstairs was closing at 10:30. Keep in mind our reservation was at 10:00 PM. We became concerned and flustered as our plan was to stay there till midnight as we were promised. He did not provide any other information and handed us the bill- we were a group of 3 couples and when asked to split it 3 way he said he could not do that. He then returns and tells us he was mistaken, the lower level closes at 10:30 and the upper level will stay open. He did not apologize for the inconvenience he caused and instead said "but if you want to order drinks you're going to have to wait as I am off". The service was very disappointing to say the least, not only did this throw our plans off cause we started ordering Ubers home when he told us they were closing but we also did not get to enjoy the food or drinks as we were rushed by Matthew.

Yelp
Honestly, this was an ok experience and my expectations were higher than they should've been. My friend and I tried four things and I was super pleased with one, the sweet soy pork belly bao. Everything else was mediocre to be honest. The space is decorated pretty cool and the server was friendly though.

Yelp
We were there on one of rare quieter nights so we were able to get good seating ( booth with street view upstairs). They have a special vegetarian menu was that was really good. The egg spring rolls, drunken noodle and fried rice were really good. Full of flavor and so many veggies. The hot and sour was bland and missed the usual spice one expects. The mushroom dumplings were average. Over all it has good options, nice drinks, interesting vibe and great service. There is parking available right in the front.

Yelp
Before a concert at Ball Arena we came here for some food and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend making a reservation, we had no wait when we came. The QR codes on the table are so neat because not only do they bring up the menu, but also that's where you order and pay. It was so convenient, and everything came out so quickly! I chose the maple miso chicken skewers, and I was amazed at how good they were. The sauce was to die for and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Teo was plenty for me because I was very hungry. They will bring out forks at your request. There are stairs to get in, and the bathroom is up more stairs. I'm not sure if an elevator is available or not. The bathroom was super clean, and the tea room was beautiful. All the seating on the main floor is bar stools with no backs, like bar seating. This place was very trendy lookingvwith so many cool neon signs. The vibe was good and the food was better!

Yelp
i want to start out by saying that Jenni G is a wonderful waitress, very attentive, and personable. that said, the food here is poor value for investment. the portions are very small, and i had to order multiple items before feeling full (and i've got a small stomach). everything was over-priced and it took a while for the food to come out (even though the restaurant was not busy). i thought the hamachi dish was delicious, but the most impressive dish was the crème brûlée cheesecake; that was a 10/10. i don't eat meat, but my family really enjoyed the noodle dish as well. the interior is fun, full of color, lights, and art. also, there was good music playing.

Yelp
Bao Brewhouse is a stellar spot to kick off a weekend and we just visited for a double date night. We sat upstairs in the Tea Room and got our weekend started with the DJ (the Tea Room has a DJ every night they are open). The Tea Room's menu & ambiance satisfied our adventurous palates with Chinese inspired plates & decor. Service was solid and GM Taylor & server Caleb ensured we had everything we needed while we dined. We started with some creative craft cocktails. The Lucky Dragon came in the coolest dragon cup that could be purchased along with the drink. We had a family style dinner & enjoyed several starters & dim sum plates, including steamed barbecue pork bao buns, tuna poke, Kobe beef dumpling, & pork soup dumplings. The Char Sui Bao were made with steamed barbecue pork bao bun, oyster sauce, scallion, daikon sprouts, furikake seasoning, & sambal hoisin. The buns were nice & fluffy. The Tuna Poke was light & fresh. The Kobe Beef Dumplings were made with ground Kobe beef, crispy onions, scallion, furikake seasoning, & miso Mongolian sauce. The Kobe beef made for savory bites. The Pork Xiao Long Bao was made with pork soup dumplings, sweet black vinegar, & chili oil (I loved these). For entrees we had the Short Rib Spicy Noodle which was so good. The Short Rib Spicy Noodle was made with lup cheong (Chinese sausage), garlic, ginger, scallion, baby boy-choy, tri-color peppers, fresno chili, Thai basil, pistachio, sambal hoisin, cilantro, daikon sprouts, miso Mongolian sauce. The short rib was so tender & juicy and fell apart the minute we tried to pick it up. This dish had a spicy kick to. For dessert we had Crème Brûlée Cheesecake & a Deconstructed Key Lime Pie. My favorite was the Key Lime Pie.

Yelp
Ate yesterday in the teahouse room (second level) - lively atmosphere (but if you're not fond of loud music, probably not the place for you. Trendy vibe, great for a girls' night out or a fun date night. Ordered three dim sum dishes and one entree, would go back for the dim sum but not for the entree. This was definitely enough for 2 people. Dishes ordered (rating + price included) Dim sum: Big on the pig ( 3.75/5 rating average on 3/5 & 4.5/5, $16) - Pork dumplings with chili on top, 5 pieces. Personally thought it could have had more flavor besides the heat from the chili, but my dinner date liked it the best of all appetizers ordered. Char Siu Bao (4.25/5 average on 4/5 & 4.5/5, $16) - Steamed bbq pork buns, 3 pieces. Thought this was the best dish of the night, very flavorful. Would order this again. Short Rib Bao (3.75/5 average on 3.5/5 & 4/5, $16?) - sweet & sour short rib, 3 pieces, believe the price to also be around $16 but can't find it online. Thought it was ok but not really a standout. Entree: Mongolian Steak Fried Rice (2.75/5 average on 2/5 & 3.5/5, $31) - steak with garlic fried rice. Weakest dish of the night. The meat was actually quite good and on its own deserves a high rating but we found everything else on the plate to be quite bland and oily. Drinks (not pictured) : Late nights in hong kong (4/5, $15). Good espresso martini. White lotus (4/5, $16). Nice lychee martini with basil, super refreshing.

Yelp
I came here with some girlfriends on a random Tuesday night. I would recommend getting reservations as it was pretty busy! We did make reservations for the Tea Room. Everyone enjoyed their drinks! I had a couple of mocktails and they were both pretty yummy! For food, we ordered Big on the Pig, Crab Cheese Rangoons, Pork Xiao Long Bao, Kobe Beef Dumpling, Char Siu Bao, Bao Brew Salad, Short Rib Spicy Noodle, and Garlic Fried Rice. Standouts for me were the Crab Cheese Rangoons, Kobe Beef Dumpling, Bao Brew Salad and Short Rib Spicy Noodle. The Kobe Beef Dumpling was super flavorful and unique. The Bao Brew Salad was refreshing and I loved the texture. The Crab Cheese Rangoons had a great sauce for dipping. The Short Rib Spicy Noodle was super well cooked. The Short Rib was super tender and well seasoned and I loved the noodle texture! Service was lovely, I have no complaints there. I know this makes me sound cheap, but I would say the price tag on these menu items was steep. I know the restaurant is downtown and their rent is probably astronomically high but damn, ~$22 for crab rangoons!? My parents would die if I told them that's how much I paid for that, LOL. Overall, good vibes, (it's bit loud with the DJ - ugh why am I so old now) but it's cool and hip.

Yelp
I came here on my trip to Denver because my team wanted to try this place. I opened the drink menu to find these super racist named drinks items. Love Me Oolong Time? Yeah, let's overlook the demeaning Chinese stereotype. Chun Li? Um, what? That's so random and there is no other video game themes in this menu, this was definitely a "lets try to get a Chinese name here that everyone knows" type of name. Super offensive. Now the food, was also terrible. Pork pot stickers had a whole ginger in there it feels like. Overcompensating with that flavor. Trader joes siu Mai, which are fried? Lol come on what is this? Fried rice with too much soy sauce. Also had a dirty glass they were going to pour my beer into, so I told them no glass. This was another opportunity for a white owner to try and gentrify Chinese food. Baos are Chinese btw, not ASIAN. If you don't understand the difference, you're not trying to be appreciative of our culture, just trying to profit.

Yelp
This was a beautiful mistake. The last time we came, this used to be a different restaurant but however came in and gave it a chance and it was and it was absolutely amazing. Every drink was delicious and every item was so beautifully delightful. Great happy hour and I didn't see the upstairs but there's a different menu and a little more elevated service but if it was like anything like the service we got today consider me IN! I'm not sure who exactly was our assign server but it seemed like everyone was working together which was a great surprised in it self to see everyone just super hospitable. Lina the manager checked up on Our table to ensure we were enjoying our time which was refreshing because it's rare to see a Manager come to my table and reassure everything was great. This is a must right next to the DCPA the ball arena if your going to a show before or after

Yelp
My boyfriend booked us reservations in the Tea Room to celebrate my big book signing over the weekend. The staff greeted us with champagne which was a lovely surprise and treat. The atmosphere was trendy and inviting. I do love a spot with cool artwork and lights. This has a very cozy feel even with the DJ playing. The Tea Room itself was perfect and we sat at a small two-top. Our menu for the evening: -Pork Xiao Long Bao x2 (so good. We were going for the bao buns specifically but its the same dough and was delicious) -Salt & Pepper Tiger Prawns (MY GOSH. I keep thinking about these.) -Short Rib Spicy Noodle (Yummy!) The food was fantastic! I really wish we had something like this in Charleston, SC because it would do incredible. We ended the evening with two different teas. I believe my boyfriend got the Ginger Refresh and I had the Desert Rose Tea. I would solely go back to Denver just to ear here again.

Yelp
This place was super fun! Asian cuisine is one of my favorites so I absolutely loved everything we got. The whole experience was fun and we shared a lot of different plates. I will say it was not the most kid-friendly and it was a little too dark and loud for our parents. I heard it can turn into a club and bar on the weekends if you like that. The food was so good!

Yelp
I don't go out of my way for dumplings, but Bao showed up on my Instagram and my friend from out of town also saw the advertisement and wanted to go. It did not disappoint. When you walk in, the decorations are pop art chic mixed with some street art vibes. It makes it feel like I'm walking into a secret local dumpling spot where all the cool kids go. The server was so nice and helped us navigate the menu. We got the lychee cocktail, and it was so good. The dumplings came out pretty fast, and they were all hot and tasty! As we ate, our food came. The cheese rangoons were so delicious and done differently. The toppings and flavors were so good!

Yelp
Find Your Chi drink was delicious and refreshing as a mocktail. You have the option to add liquor. Char siu bao (3 per order) was okay. The sauce was yummy. Big on the Pig was delicious. Very flavorful. Half order of Peking duck was unbelievable. Crispy duck and a heaping of vegetables. That sauce to go was also incredible. The space is large and busy. It is such a vibe for groups.
