Bao, Brioche Buns and Morning Buns Are London’s Best Buns | Eater London

"A great bao is a thing of beauty and Yum Bun’s never disappoint. The satisfyingly soft and squishy steamed buns are light and fluffy, the perfect parcel for their equally delicious fillings. There’s slow-roasted pork belly, crispy fish with coriander and lime sambal, and miso-glazed portobello mushroom with cucumber and spring onions. Find them at Street Feast locations around London and Old Spitalfields Market." - Daisy Meager

This (slightly hidden in the side streets of Mayfair) lovely place has been one of my regular haults for a Sunday Brekkie (always got the Takeaway) their selection is pretty spectacular and a really high quality in my view. Staff is always very friendly, and on Sunday morning i never saw it too crowded, and even tables outside to enjoy those few rays of sunshine (when they decide to illuminate London....that is).

Was around the area when we saw this new place, so popped in to have a quick snack. We chose the Japanese pork belly for the open bao and the chicken honey ginger teriyaki and the kung pao shrimp baos. These were good portions and satisfied my snack craving. The taste of the baos were really good, yummy - the pork belly has a slight spicy-ness to it which I love; you can taste the honey and ginger in the chicken bao and the kung pao shrimp was equally delicious. I like the fact that there's a good ratio between the filling and the bao bun itself, this means I do get a good taste of the filling and not just the fluffy bun. For drinks we tried the healthy green juice which was very refreshing. Next time though I'd like to try the wine and cocktails in a can ;-). I will definitely come back again and try out the other baos they have; may do a take-away and grab a few wine or cocktails in a can and have a picnic in the park close by ;-)

The Nashville hot fried chicken open bao with iced coffee : a perfect spicy snack. I particularly love the hot sauce, it has a perfect tangy-ness to it and the right level of spiciness that is not overpowering. The gentleman behind the counter did say that I may have to wait 10 minutes as it is being freshly made but it definitely took less than that to arrive. As I was eating in there I would be perfectly okay if it were to be served on a little plate - it's just a shame to waste the beautiful box/container and plastic cutlery (I do prefer to devour a bao bun with my hands :)) and paper bag if one is not having it as take-away. Will have to come back and try the other baos :)

It was my first time to Bao Yum and I must say it won't be my last. The restaurant was clean and tidy and the staff welcoming. As It was my first time,I was asking about the different items, the women was helpful and polite. I believe she said her name was Cindy. The food had a great flavour to it and I really enjoyed the overall experience. Next time I hope to bring my friends with me

Absolute waste of money. The baos were dry and hard. The open face baos were a long and narrow shape instead of short and wide so all the filling falls out when you pick it up and your hands get covered in sauce and I have no idea what the pork baos were, but they weren't good. The Innocent apple juice was good tho

Not great for a speciality place. Ordered the open boa Nashville hot fried chicken. Was okay, just tasted like Frank’s hot sauce. Bun was a bit stodgy, not fluffy. More expensive and less tasty then Wagamama’s baos.

A little snack and drink here after checking in at the hotel! We had all three different types of bao and they were all delicious. Drinks can be picked up in the cooler, along with some of their sandwiches. Place is card only, so no cash. We sat inside and enjoyed the food.

Was walking with my boys around and noticed this place. Decided to try salads. The Cesar salad 🥗 got 3 tiny slices of chiken from Sainsburys. Huggggee portion of salad greens. The Broccoli 🥦 salad was ok, but very cold and full of veggie meat. All for 16£ Not recommending.
