The Best New Restaurants in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"The former Leland Hotel in Gaslamp has transformed into the Beau Hotel, occupying a building that first debuted in the late 1880s. Inside the new hotel is Bar at the Beau, a stolid American restaurant with vintage interior appointments, classic cocktails, and all-day food. Mornings bring duck has, overnight oats, and quiche Lorraine while evenings feature Sea of Cortez prawn cocktail, whole roasted branzino, and prime filet mignon over celery root puree. —Matthew Kang, Eater Southern California/Southwest" - Helen I. "Located in the city’s oldest hotel (formerly the Leland Hotel, which first opened in 1886), the original bar serves as the centerpiece and offers a wide range of cocktails that pay homage to the hotel’s history. Menu highlights include duck pot pie, grilled oysters, and braised pork shank, presented within a setting that underscores the building’s long-standing heritage." - Helen I. Hwang

They accommodated eight people during a Petco park game. This place is brand new and it's lovely as of May 2025. Velvet seats and color drenched. The waitress even learns your first name, she's fabulous. The food was great, I tried a little bit of everything. Drinks were great too. The only thing I didn't like was the pineapple upside down cake, it tasted dry like it was frozen and dethawed.

Exceptional experience. Offerings from both the menu and the bar are wonderful and well worth you time no matter your travels.
