Bar B

Bar B is a small little establishment with highly limited seating, but if you can grab a table the experience is fantastic. A good selection of affordable wines and decent food to pair. The staff are all wonderful and care about providing quality products and good service. I will call out on Google this comes out as a Cocktail bar, but it's really a wine lounge. I ordered the Chicken Skewers and a Chianti wine. Not something I'd normally pair, but oddly was fantastic. The skewers were moist and delicious. They were placed on top of a mini baguette slice that soaked in the juices for additional flavor. The Chianti was mild and easy on the palette. The wine was easy to drink and perfect for the day. I was able to get one of the two tables outside to truly enjoy the experience. By the time I left the bar was full of people standing. Overall great place and would recommend going to if you get the opportunity.

Have been here many times over the years. One of the easiest 5-stars to give. Highly recommend. Italian small plates in standing wine bar, manned by Japanese guys listening to ska or some other tasteful, eclectic music. Food is phenomenal. Recommend skirt steak and scallop carpaccio in particular. Staff is great! Drinks, space, aesthetic, and vibe are all great! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Wow! This is my new favorite place in nyc. Amazing food with fresh specials. Intimate ambience. The staff are beyond friendly and the owner even spent time chatting with us when the place was absolutely packed on a Monday. The wine list is so fun, my only regret is i didn’t make it in time for the happy hour. Oh well, I’ll be back soon LOL. Do NOT skip the carpaccio and the chicken skewer.

I had no idea about Bar B until a friendly guy sitting next to me on a flight from BKK told me about it. I was intrigued that it was an Italian-inspired standing bar with a Japanese owner. I’d been to Basta Pasta over the years, but had no idea they had a bar—when you look carefully, the “b” is actually the same exact font. I finally came here this week with a friend and we absolutely loved it. It’s a small place and when we arrived past 6pm, it was already full. But the staff was able to set up a table for us outside. We ordered: - Sea Scallops Carpaccio ($13+) - Chicken Skewers ($13+) - Penne Amatriciana ($16+) - Crème Brûlée ($11+) Everything we ordered was delicious and I would recommend them all. Drinks, they have happy hour until 7pm, which was great—especially since it includes prosecco for $8+. There was a consistent flow of people, with a line outside at times. It was a chilly evening and got so cold we asked to go inside once a space opened up. The staff was attentive and very helpful. It’s a small place and may be hard to get in, but I will be back for sure, to try more of their delicious dishes.

love this spot. absolute whole in the wall. not very many seats - stand at the bar with some wine and tapas. can also sit outside if you’re luck enough to get a spot in the summer. great wine and cheese board is okay. would need to go back to get the food. pretty affordable by my standards and hard to beat the vibe. great for a date, solo dinner or quick catch up with some friends.

Lovely little place to have some wine and little bites or plates. In Spain we are used to small places where you stay at the bar without sitting having dinner, a glass of wine or whatever; it was really nice having this experience in New York. Food is good, wine as well, a bit expensive (portions are small… cheese board is a bit poor), but wait… it’s NYC it’s kind of normal. The guys at the bar kind and smiley. We enjoyed a lot our night and we were lucky to find a spot!

Small plates and wine. A hole in the wall ( no seats, all standing only) with great food. The skirt steak was amazing. So good, I had 2 servings. The octopus salad and raw scallops were also very good.

Great tapas and wine. Is a fusion of tapas. I went on Saturday night and enjoy Manny delicacies prosciutto with figs, cheese platter, beet salad and shrimps all tasty and affordable. Service was pleasant. Small be ready to eat standing up, place is packed. Nice decor, servers are pleasant.

We had some time to kill so were looking for a happy hour to fill the time. This spot is fascinating. For one, there are no seats. You order at the bar, watch them cook at the bar, and stand at the bar for the entirety of your experience (there are some outdoor tablets if you're so inclined, to be fair, about 2-3 tables). The happy hour isn't great: there is $1 off the red wine of choice (chianti, which we did not particularly enjoy) and the white wine of choice (the white). The menu is all over the place from a cheese plate to full steak ($19?). Don't think there are any food happy hour options. I would be interested in trying more of the food menu. But in terms of coming here for a happy hour drink, not doing yourself any favors. I will say though, that the decor is awesome. The walls and ceiling are adorned with corks in various shapes and designs (seriously, look up). They're doing a lot with the space they exist in but probably wouldn't need to come back.

I love the vibe of this tiny standing wine bar. It reminds me of a traditional Japanese izakaya. You don't get much cozy neighborhood bars in Manhattan anymore, especially not in Chelsea, which is flooded with trendy cocktail bars serving $20 pre-tax/tip cocktails. Somehow the food served manages to be simply delicious as well. And no, that's not the wine talking.  1. WHITE ANCHOVY (marinated in vinegar + sicillian olives) $7 2. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are a foodie. The standing part makes it unique, and if you're lucky enough to get a spot further in you can watch the chef make all of the dishes. The food was spectacular, and the drinks are great as well. Give it a try!

A review that's been a long time coming. I've been here over a handful of times and once more recently and the quality and good vibes from the restaurant are still the same, great. The restaurant setup can deter people from dining here because it's a standing only against a bar top with not much space, but it's cozy and doesnt feel packed. Bar B staff are always fun and in a good mood, especially the head chef. Last time I came recently, I saw the menu had some new items and tried to eat as much as possible. Beet salad with walnuts, goat cheese, and olive oil was great. Very fresh beets and cooked great with a nice soft tasty goat cheese. Ordered a side of fries with a mayo ketchup sauce that also had a secret ingredient I still haven't been able to figure out. Fried prawns were new and came with a mustard base with horseradish. Fried well and not greasy at all. Ordered a polpetto - beef croquette and it was juicy as can be with a nice vinaigrette sauce on type The calamari was good with what seemed like a housemade tomato sauce Finally was the skirt steak with a delicious housemade potato salad. The most interesting bit of the meal for me was the potatoe salad that had a vinegar taste that was subtle and amazing

I went here a few months prior to quarantine I'd say this is a stand up place. All kidding aside, this place is excellent and it has a fun atmosphere. I ordered a montanaro spritz which is an amaro based cocktail. In short it had a great bitter aftertaste and I liked it a lot (though I always like amaro.) I went with two dishes, one from the daily specials, and one of the main menu options. From the specials menu, I ordered fries with sardine ragu. This was very good and I'd highly recommend ordering it if it's on the menu. The sardine ragu was rich and complex with some sweetness (I think there were pearl onions or something mixed.) The fries were solid as well. From the pasta section, I got fusilli with basil/pine nut pesto, string beans, and yukon. Good pasta texture. I found the flavor of the pesto slightly bland especially with the potatoes on the side. i think I should have gone with the squid ink risotto but it was overall good. Staff here is friendly and they have a nice atmosphere. Cool place with a unique spin on Italian food.

The food wasn't bad. It just wasn't filling. I wish they didn't allow patrons under a certain age because the table next to us had a baby wailing and a dog. It was 2 tables maximum outdoors and no dining indoors when I went, so I'm not sure how they're making money. I like that the sizes are small so you can try different dishes at once, but once again, my pasta did not wow me.

Great food, their wasabi is amazing, the potato salad is so delicious it's one of our favorites. Good variety of wine & small plates, the penne is so tasty!

I've been coming here for years and every dining experience has been fantastic. The cicchetti is delicious and made right in front of you! The owner, Jimmy, and his staff are always welcoming and very attentive. They also have a great selection of wine at favorable pricing. Bar B has character, wonderful ambience, and is a must visit!

Stoked to find this local Italian spot with a hint of Japanese culture. Fair prices on amazing food for a both a casual and/or date night. They only have 1-2 tables outside while the rest is a standing bar. If you don't mind standing then you'll be in for a modern treat. I would highly recommend; I can't wait to go back and try other dishes!

This is the best restaurant in Chelsea. Kid you not. This narrow little alleyway of a restaurant, where you're forced to stand while you eat divine and creamy shrimp risotto with shiitake mushroom, made right in front of you. Where you eat grilled calamari made in a pan a foot away, topped with kale and bottarga and the best calamari you've had. Where you munch on grilled veggies and ricotta and prosciutto, and al dente penne bolognese. This is the sister restaurant to Basta Pasta, and it sure tastes like it, but this spot is all it's own. It feels like a sexy little European getaway, a cozy nook, a little secret. 5 Stars!!!!!

If you plan on checking this place out for the first time I recommend bringing a friend. When I say "a" friend, I literally mean one friend!! This amazing little place only has a bar where about 8-10 people can stand. Whenever I hangout in the area or just looking for chill place to meet up I always find myself recommending this place. It's a solid one for my books. The place is intimate, charming, and comfortable, although there is no seating. The dishes here range from 8-9 dollars and are small however packed with flavor. There is also variety of wine to choose from and great happy hour from 4-7. It's definitely one of my favorite places in nyc.

COVID-19 review. This is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. The food is always amazing and service is great! They used to be standing only pre covid but now they have tables outside. Plenty of space for social distancing. Current hours: 5-10pm. Happy hour til 7pm.

Ordered ahead online to get takeout from Bar B and had an even better experience this time around! The Fusilli al Prosciutto and Porcini is still my favorite, but the Marinated Skirt Steak with potato salad was also incredible. Also liked the Orecchiette Bolognese. The food here is just amazing so I'm adding a star!

4 stars for the food, not so much the space. The restaurant is considered a hole in the wall where there are no seated areas. There is only a hallway with counter space where you stand and enjoy the food. We unfortunately, had the counter spot right in front of the kitchen area and it was SO HOT. I think the entire space could only fit a max of 10 people. The happy hour menu is great I believe it last until 7pm, but I felt way too cramp to enjoy it. We ordered the steak(def get this), octopus, risotto, and bruschetta. Everything was very delicious. I wish this place will move to a larger space since I loved the food. Otherwise I don't foresee myself coming back again.

Cool open concept bar with your typical summer-like drinks, but young demographic and would only recommend if you had a crew of 4+. $10 a drink. 3.75/5 stars as a day bar.

Happy Hour on a Saturday?! Yes please! Nice little offer; $8 Prosecco (even though it's a tad sweet) menu looks good. It's a teeny tiny place but super cool Inside with tons of designs with wine corks. Nice bartender; super chill vibe; would totally come back

initially considered leaving because i'm lazy and didn't want to stand, stayed because the menu looked amazing and you could see them putting in that WORK in the kitchen. the food was absolutely incredible. beautiful quality cheese and prosciutto, fusili and skirt steak were unreal, chestnut crème brûlée was delicious. the standing is actually pretty chill and if ur lazy like me you'll get used to it and food is worth it. i would eat their food out of a dog bowl

I just came here for the 3rd time with a Boston friend visiting. Now I can really say that this is my favorite tapas bar in NYC. I am so afraid that eventually everyone will know about this little gem and I will have to wait long to get in. I guess because this is a standing bar so people can't hang out here for too long without feeling sore feet. I did not have to wait at all when I visited. It's a small cozy standing bar. Most chefs there are Japanese I believe. It may take a while for some dishes to be made, but I believe that they wanna make sure the dishes are all perfect before they bring them to the customers. Every (yes every!) dishes here are all so yummy. There is really no bad dishes here at all after I've been here three times. Sangria - fresh fruits, yummy and smooth Sea urchin bruschettas - it was so good that I died. Uni was fresh and the bread was toasted perfectly House marinated skirt steak - it was better the first time when I had it, for this recent time, the sauce was little too much and gave it too much of a sour taste, but still lovely. Steak was so tender! Fusilli with prosciutto & porcini - the texture of the pasta was perfect, the amount of prosciutto was just right and not salty Shrimp risotto (special of the day) - another dish to die for, fresh shrimp, perfect amount of oil without feeling greasy Grilled branzino (special of the day) - skin was so crispy, branzino was fresh AGAIN, EVERYTHING HERE IS GOOD! And I pray it will never get too packed so I can always come and get in without wait.

Food is pretty good here! We had the skirt steak, grilled branzino, and beef croquette, all very yummy like everyone else suggested. Even shredded carrot and celery side was seasoned to perfection, doesn't have the raw veggie taste in it. If you don't mind standing, it's a nice spot for a quick bite and a glass of wine!

Cool vibe, friendly staff. I was a little claustrophobic at first, but it's actually a cozy place with good food and nice atmosphere. It's also a short walk to Basta Pasta, which is a good choice for dinner afterward a drink and appetizer!

Such a cute Italian/wine bar spot! Standing room only, but that's what makes it great for some happy hour drinks and small bites. Came on a Wednesday and happy hour was 4-7 pm for $5 wine. The octopus salad was really good and refreshing! Gorgonzola bruschetta was also good. Definitely want to come back to try more of the menu. Great seafood options and pretty cheap!

Bar B is unusual but a sweet charming bar and restaurant experience. Long and narrow but small standing room only. Absolutely no chairs! There are hooks under the bar counter for bags and jacket placement. Owned and operated by a Japanese manager who is customer service orientated with a American/Italian influence but notable Japanese food and culture embedded. Kitchen is next to the bar counter. Bar B is good for the after work grind escape. Single Lady Going Out After work me, myself and I Honest, a better experience Filled the scene with respect, professionalism and big smiles I was inclined for something cold as the late afternoon/early evening became intensely humid and uncomfortable. Sangria $12 was summoning me. My sparking white Sangria wake me up inside with bubbles and many happy returns of the day. Sangria for $12 is not part of their Happy Hour, but it fits the moment for a cool down and was served in a traditional mason jar with handle and with big smiles by both the bar tender and owner/manager. I love the charmed of a old fashion mason jar. Being indoors in a air conditioned cool environment with a cool drink away from the blazing sun and humidity, amid standing without chairs, the moment was phlegmatic and I was content. The bar tender saw that I was struggling to pickup pieces of apple and orange using a straw who then gave me a spoon. I do not recommend consuming a full on meal since this is standing room only. I prefer sitting to consume a full on meal to achieve maximum enjoyment with comfort. Tapas and drinks are joyful at gatherings without sitting. Business cards are available for grabs.

Ordered the Chianti happy hour for $6 which is obviously a great deal in New York. Mind bogglingly good actually (now that I think about it). Also order the shrimp with tartar sauce they put a bunch of garlic in the sauce and the shrimp were just very clean tasting even though they were bartered and fried. I'm a fan!

Very unusual tiny little place where you have to stand at the bar for your food or drinks cuz there are no stools at this place! We were wandering around to kill some time in the area and found this place. Their menu looks very enticing. You know, I can never skip skirt steak nor octopus! We got Fried Shrimp with Wasabi Tartar sauce ($8), Marinated Skirt Steak ($9) and Spanish Octopus Salad ($10). Every dish was spot on. Skirt Steak was prepared perfectly medium rare. Too bad the service was kinda off tonight. The bartender wasn't quite friendly nor attentive. We were never once asked how the food was or if we needed anything else. Just in case you don't drink, don't forget to order Ginger Honey Lemonade ($4)!

Long and narrow restaurant with standing room only! Absolutely charming and loved the ambiance. Walking in was already a unique experience and I couldn't wait to try the food. Ocean trout with wasabi lime - served as carpaccio so the trout was raw. the wasabi lime was very refreshing and fresh and complimented the trout. Fusilli with prosciutto and porcini cream sauce - sauce not too heavy or creamy. Just the right consistency where it sticks to the fusilli. Little bits of prosciutto sprinkled throughout along with lots of porcini. Best to come here with 1 or 2 people at most since the standing room is a straight line. Food came extremely quickly as efficiency is the name of the game here.

I come here when I visit my friend in Chelsea. This is a really interesting and intimate place. The food is excellent and the staff is extremely responsive and funny. Yes they will entertain you always with a smile! They are very responsive and it doesn't take long to get served your meal and a tasty glass of wine. It's a standing room only type of restaurant so if you don't like to stand and eat this is not your place. But I can assure you that once you order a few of the tasty tapas style food dishes ranging from pizzetas, grilled branzino to risotto and others, that concern will disappear. Highly recommended.

Delicious food. What a great find. We shared the grilled octopus, skirt steak, beet salad (blueberries were a bit strange) and polpetta, and lemon panna cotta for dessert. Great attentive service, loved the casual vibe. We sat at one of their many outdoor tables and looked like inside was stand only, pretty packed. Definitely feels like a Neighborhood spot with a lot of locals. Will be back for more!!

Petite portions but works out fine. Everything is made to order and tasty. Standing counter only - which is great. Need more restaurants to get on board this trend. Octopus is always delicious. Croquette is good. Menu changes though and waiter usually gives good recommendations. If you eat a lot, you might find yourself hungry after. But I tend to believe we mostly overeat in the US, and this is actually the right amount of food for a meal.

The Quick: Fun spot to have delicious small bites and contemplate the large wine selection while standing and chatting with new friends and the counter. The Details: I adore this European style wine bar where you eat delicious bites and actually talk to the people around you... How un-Manhattan of us. Since there are no tables, you physically stand and eat at the bar. This is provides a unparalleled opportunity to meet interesting people in Chelsea. While I do not recommend this for a first date or a solo night to be with your thoughts, it's a fun spot to stop in. The house pickled veggies were great and very inexpensive. The fried cheese and fried burger (both called something fancy) were out of this world. The octopus was also a win ($10). Overall the food was great. The Damage: For bites and drinks the two of us spent around $50 + tip total. I recommend.

This is a quick walk to the PATH. This bar is actually super small. It's a standing bar in that there are no chairs or seating. There is a bar where you can order food and a slim strip of space along this bar where you can stand and drink and eat. At first, I was kind of taken aback by this, but somehow, it actually facilitates the experiences more so than regular bars do. Also, the proprietor (and some staff?) of this bar is Japanese yet the bar serves Italian. (Just a fun interesting fact.) The drinks are cheapish.

Wow!!!! Venue: (4/5) stand only wine/tapas bar. Small venue that is perfect for dates or catching up with a friend. The bar fits about 10-12 people. Reminds me of the desnuda vibe on the west side. Food (5/5) WOW. Everything was amazing. In order of favorite. Steak (5/5) get this. Perfectly charred and marinated. We randomly stopped by Bar B looking for something to eat. The food was tasty and the service, stellar. It's a small, long rectangular space with room to stand at the bar where you can see the chef preparing small delicious bites. The octopus salad and chicken skewers were phenomenal. The spicy shrimp was also a dish I'd recommend. Overall this place offers a cozy atmosphere, fresh & tasty food with some great service.

Finally tried this place after years of neglect. I live very close by, so it really should not have taken so long. It is easy to miss when walking up and down 7th Avenue, so you have to be on the lookout. A place with standing room only, Bar B has a fairly decent wine selection, and a few beers, but the star is really the food. You'll probably gaze in wonderment how cheap everything on the food menu is. However, it really is only like 2-3 bites of food. Yet, those bites are all really tasty. We got the steak, the fried chicken, and the octopus. The octopus was chopped up, but still very tender, and the crunch of the vegetables it came with was a good contrast to the slightly chewy octopus. The fried chicken was tasty, and came with the sauteed scallion on top, but was pretty much like 2 small chicken fingers. The steak was probably the best dish of them all, as it was a perfect medium rare, and was likely the most filling out of all dishes. That being said, everything was pretty well-executed, and again, while you might not feel completely satiated by the end of everything, it is all very tasty. Service is pretty attentive, since it's such a small place, but sometimes you need to wave them down if you want a refill on your drink. The prices, again, are pretty low for food, which allows you to try a lot of different things, but remember that you do get what you pay for. Definitely worth it during happy hour prices, but perhaps just decent value at other times. Overall, a solid place for casual drinks and small snacks. It's a little hard to stay longer than an hour and a half, as you have to stand the entire time, but still a pretty good spot to catch up with a friend. I'll have to try a bit more off the food menu next time I'm there, as well as the other wines available.

I wanted Italian food after class so I wanted to come here. I actually tried coming here twice - the first time the line was too long and it looked packed. Until I stepped in the bar, I didn't realize that this is a stand-up bar -- a bar with no seats. I was mindblown. I love the concept and always have. Some of coffee places I like adopt this. I'm literally "on my feet" and it suits me. I was standing right across the grill so I saw pasta and calamari getting cooked. I ordered the Penne Amatriciana. It was alright. The penne was a little hard and the sauce just tasted alright. It then struck me that this is a bar, and everyone was having wine for a reason. I had FOMO so I ordered a glass of red wine. It tasted normal but having wine standing up was an experience. The dim lighting also helped the bar seem romantic. Too bad I came here alone. It's a cute place. Wine is just nighttime coffee. That's why everyone chats over wine.

This place has a unique personality, which can be both a pro or a con depending on who you are. Bartender, Andrew I think it was, is attentive and friendly. Chef, could not figure out his name, is awesome and should definitely get a more expansive venue. I would return for the food and to watch the Chef create his dishes. Tasted the margheritta pizzeta, the tripe, and the olives along with Nebulito (sp?) Red wine. Pros: Open concept kitchen Standing room only Cuisine is freshly made to order This place is impeccably clean & well maintained Very tailored wine list, with samples offered. Tripe was delicious and their housemade bread is worth selling on its own. Cons: Open concept kitchen right next to the bar in a tight space Standing room only Pizzetas are tasty but are the size of a mini bagel Olives tasted like the jar variety and were mushy-- forgo these.

This food at this place was just so good that I didn't even mind having to stand the whole time (it is standing bar only). The chef fires everything up in front of you and the service is very quick. I had three different tapas and each was stellar. The space is small so it is good to go with one other friend or on a date. They also serve drinks. Everyone, including the chef, were highly hospitable and efficient. Great restaurant.

A tiny spot (you stand, not sitting) and... such a nice spot. The food was delicious, the people working had the nicest smile, no plastic (straws are compostable and napkins from recycled paper). The music was nice but not loud (this is during the week, weekends might be louder) - we could talk quietly. How can I post 10 stars?

Dare I call Bar B a hidden gem? Feels underrated for sure. The lack of seating forces you to be quick about your business, but its a great spot for a quick catchup over a glass of wine and some bar snacks. Great wine selection by the glass (and surprisingly, a couple of sake options!) and the food menu looked delicious as well. We opted for simply prosciutto and olives, both of which were great (prosciutto is freshly sliced) though the portions were small...but can't really knock it for the price. I'm interested in trying the more hearty options on my next visit. Keep this spot in your back pocket!

Bar B is a small, intimate spot in Chelsea where you definitely get more than what you bargained for. It's an unassuming location with no seating, but the interior is cozy and inviting, with a familiar menu that fits the neighborhood pretty well. They have a surprising selection of wines by the glass, and although I wasn't a particular fan of the Pinot Noir, it's nothing I can really knock the place for. The prosciutto board we ordered was freshly sliced, and the olives were incredibly flavorful, making for a pretty refreshing pit stop on our way to our final destination. Please do yourself and everyone else a favor and don't come expecting the venue to house a party of more than, say, 5 people.

One Again, Yelp to the rescue. After a long day of traveling running away from #irma, this spot caught my eye for a late night snack. Bar B is a standing bar, meaning, you won't have a chair to seat while enjoying your meal. This is a very informal dinning experience, however, don't you get discouraged by this small detail as they food is extraordinary and so is the wine selection. Besides their interesting menu of tapas, they also have daily specials. You place your order and can watch how they make your food (again, place is really small). I ordered the Spanish octopus salad. This was very refreshing as its served cold and has a touch of celery . It goes perfect with a glass of white wine if you ask me. I also ordered their seasonal grilled vegetables with ricotta. I wasn't that crazy about he ricotta cheese on it but the veggies where very yummy and definitely tasty. Again, so many good things to try here. I ended up ordering their shrimp and musroomh risotto which was part of their daily specials. That one as a winner ! I really enjoyed eating here. The standing bar experience was new to me and I really enjoyed. It really gives you the chance to engage in a good conversation with a friend even for a date.

This is a good date spot given the fantastic food, cheap drinks, and cozy atmosphere. NOT good for large groups. This was the first "standing" bar I went to that also served food. As the phrase suggests, this place doesn't have any stools. You're standing the whole time. Eat, drink, and stand. Based on this description, some of you may wonder what food must be like at a place like this. It's GREAT! We had multiple dishes and I grew increasingly impressed with each bite (although the anchovy fries were not my thing). Make sure to try the skirt steak. I was surprised at how good skirt steak at a bar could be! Before 7p, they have $5 glasses of wine!

This is my go-to spot for dining alone, which is what I do when my wife and kids are out of town. There's something about standing up and eating alone that is superior to sitting down at a table and eating alone. Probably because there's not an empty seat across from you announcing to the world that you're dining alone, inviting gossipy folks to jump to conclusions about you. Bar B is narrow, like the political mindset of most 18-year olds. Its size means that it fills up easily. There have been many times where I've looked in, saw that it was packed, and kept walking. I don't mind dining alone, but I'll be damned if I'm going to stand alone, waiting to eat alone. Nope. I just keep going, walking around the entire block before looking in again to see if space has opened up. I probably don't want to know what other patrons have thought after seeing me loop by the restaurant for the eighth time, peering in, looking hopeful, then disappointed, then moving on, only to return six minutes later to do the same thing. Perhaps one of them went home to write a heartfelt screenplay about a man too timid to enter a restaurant. Don't know. Don't care, unless John Hamm plays me. At some point, space frees up and I do go in and order. The service is always good, primarily because the waiter is never more than seven feet away. The food has been consistently delicious. The menu is Italian and small, like Joe Pesci.

Wonderful unique place, plates served tapas style in house. Everything is excellent and served with a smile While I used to love standing and eating at the bar plate by plate, takeout was beautifully packed & delicious Neighborhood gem Let's keep this place open people

Cute pleasant place ! Nice atmosphere.not noisy, not super expensive (meaning according to the criteria of NYC ;)), good selection of wines (generous pouring) Will go back !

Loved Bar B. We came here on a Thursday night and I think we got lucky because we got a space at the counter and it was not crowded. Everything we ordered was individually made and delicious. We got the skirt steak with potato salad (perfect, sans horseradish), mussels, calamari with broccoli rabe, branzino, and herb crusted scallops. Our favorite was definitely the skirt steak, with the branzino coming in a close second. Drinks were also quite good... I got the rose and finished off with a sangria. We also ordered the chestnut creme brûlée which was so good I was tempted to order a second. In addition to the delicious food, the staff was super friendly. Only draw back is that the place is small and you will probably walk out smelling like food unless you stand closer to the door. Oh, and the menu is priced nicely and there is a happy hour until 7. Loved it.

Ordered takeout via Seamless. Arrived on time and fresh. Food quality was excellent. The beet salad and potato salad were very tasty. The branzino was cooked perfectly. You may want to order more as the portions are more like Tapas-sized (we have be never ate at the restaurant but have walked by pre-pandemic, it is a cozy space more fit for small plates/sharing. They now have sidewalk seating.) Portion sizes vary for each item, but none are like "entree size" at most places. For 2 people you may want to order 5 items.
