NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"From a former beverage pro at Casa Mono, Baserri in Williamsburg translates to farmhouse in the Basque language. The tapas bar is just off Domino Park in Williamsburg, and they’ll be pouring at least 100 Spanish wines alongside arroz with calamari, and pulpo a la Gallega." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

The Brooklyn Hit List: The Best New Restaurants In Brooklyn - New York - The Infatuation

"Classic tapas, vermouth, and lots and lots of wine are on the menu at Bar Baserri. The Williamsburg spot makes dual use of their wine fridges, using some of them as tables towards the back of the restaurant. The portions lean small here, so save this spot for a casual date night filled with perfectly toothy arroz caldoso with prawns that have the texture of a hot cherry tomato, bursting with juice. Or, come with a bigger group and split a bottle of vermouth that tastes like Coca-Cola’s older, more sophisticated sibling." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, bryan kim, sonal shah

Biggest NYC Restaurant Openings in June 2025 | Eater NY

"A polished Spanish wine-and-tapas bar from a Casa Mono veteran with an extensive 100-bottle list and a tight roster of small plates like pulpo a la gallega, aji amarillo scallops, pork chuleta, hazelnut-raisin jam and hand-carved jamón, leaning into refined Spanish flavors." - Melissa McCart

Google
A fantastic tapas bar with an impressive wine selection and warm service. The shrimp, Arroz, and scallops were among the best I’ve had. The duck was cooked perfectly, and the pulpo with its special verde sauce was beautifully balanced. A must-visit for anyone who loves Northern Spanish foods!

Google
TLDR: great food, weird pacing, and OKAY service. We went a few weeks ago now so they could have already addressed these things but we dined with 6 people on a Friday night and had a very weird experience. We started with cocktails and some meat and cheese but only one and then two cheeses came out before we ordered the rest of our food. Over the course of our meal, all meats and cheeses eventually came out … one even being after we finished everything. When we ordered them, they should have made the pacing clear because this confused us as we thought we’d be eating meat and cheese to start (we were hungry!). One of our guests didn’t eat seafood so we ordered two steaks and only one came out to start. I asked about it and the server said the kitchen paces them so they don’t cook two at the same time… this made no sense to me and, again, should have been communicated when we ordered. The table we were sat at was a high top community table but also seemingly wine storage? So one of our guests had to get up not once but TWICE during the meal so a server could grab a bottle of wine. I just thought this was such a terrible guest experience and the server kind of just shrugged it off. Finally, it was expensive. $120pp. I won’t be going back anytime soon but the food was excellent so hopefully they figure everything else out.

Google
A very unique and authentic Spanish cuisine! Love the tapas of scallops, shrimps, and steak. The taste is cooked to perfection! Add it with some wine and you have the perfect Spanish meal!

Google
One of my favorite Spanish tapas and wine bars! The ambience is warm and inviting — perfect for a relaxed evening with great wine. The staff are super friendly and always make you feel at home. Highly recommend for anyone who loves good vibes, great wine, and authentic tapas.

Google
Had a really lovely date night here recently. Ben (or Alex?) was our server! It was his first day and he was great! All the dishes we ordered were delicious and the wine recommended by the server was good. The manager was also really professional and friendly. The restaurant itself is beautiful and it feels like you are in Spain. We will be back!

Google
Beautiful date night place! Chic atmosphere and interior with incredible culinary experience. My new favorite Spanish wine bar! Worth every bite with only the best produce. And even kinder staff with so much knowledge and s-tier service! Will definitely be my new to go to place! Love this place!

Google
This is a newly opened Spanish restaurant. Seeing all the good reviews online, I wanted to try the arroz caldoso. My friends and I tried it, and everyone praised it, especially the beef bone marrow. We're still eating, so we're planning to return next weekend.

Google
One of the best dinners we’ve had in Brooklyn. Every dish was full of flavor, and the service was warm and genuine. We’ll definitely be back.

Yelp
I was blown away with this place! The service and food was impeccable. The vibe of the restaurant was cozy and moody. I really enjoyed the prawns con ajo blanco as well as the bone marrow. Will definitely be coming back !

Yelp
Loved the small tapas and the unexpectedly good selection of Spanish wines. I must admit, I was never a fan of Spanish wines but this place really changed my mind, can't wait to try more varietals next time The service was amazing as well, very friendly and easy going, not too pushy but not absent as well. But the ambiance must be my favorite thing, I looove the interior design and the attention to details, you can tell they really care It's magical to experience what a well thought out space can do to you, I felt being transported in Spain Overall exceptional, can't wait to visit them soon with my friends

Yelp
bar baserri is so cute! good drinks, great bites & even better vibes! it really transports you to a in tapas spot in spain. perfect for a first date if you don't want to commit to a full dinner but want something a lil more than just drinks. if it's not going so hot, you could dip after grabbing a good cocktail or if it's going well, extend it into a full dinner - a win win if ya ask me! my faves were the freshly shaved ham, the steak, the croquetas, and the arroz - but if i had to choose, def recommend the arroz! it's paella-ish and packed with so much flavaaa! yommm

Yelp
Had a Friday evening reservation for two and live around the area. I enjoyed some dishes more than others and some dishes felt pricey for what you get, but overall I think this is a nice addition to the neighborhood. Ambiance / service: casual rustic Spanish vibes. I think all the seating is on high tops. Front wall retracts which is nice in the summer. Would be great for a date night, happy hour with friends, or just a casual dinner, especially if you live around the area. Service was friendly and didn't feel rushed, but it was a bit scattered. Server didn't inform us upfront several items were sold out until we tried to order them, couldn't give us an answer when we asked how many dishes she recommended we get, etc. Food: it's tapas, so some items are quite small in size. Would recommend ordering at least 2+ portions for some of them if dining with more than 2-3 people. I ordered 8-9 dishes (some were duplicates and some very small portions) for 2 people and it was the right amount of food. -Pan Con Tomate: got it with the jamon. Comes with 4 square slices. Best thing we got. Crunchy bread, super flavorful. We ended up ordering 2 servings! -Patatas Bravas: standard. But good if you're in a potato mood. -Croquetes: comes with 2. Enjoyed. -Burrata Con Squash Blossom: I do not recommend. Something was off about this dish and we only took a bit and couldn't finish it. In theory it sounded delish but the flavors were VERY off. -Pulpo Con Caper Chimichurri: I really enjoyed this. Octopus is cut up already. Portion is a bit bigger. -Scallops: comes with 4. This was good, but price seems high because the scallops were quite small. Enjoyed the octopus much more. -Quesos. We ordered two different variety of cheeses. The cheese was delicious, but this also didn't seem worth the price. $7 isn't very expensive, but it comes with two very small slivers of cheese and no bread or even a cracker.

Yelp
Has the vibes of a cute tapas place in Spain, but with Williamsburg pricing of course. Good variety of tapas and vermouth/wine, the overall menu leans a bit more seafood heavy but has a good selection of most of the popular Spanish tapas (patatas bravas, croquettes etc). Food was okay but not the best. The patatas bravas have the sauce on the side and they are a little saltier than I am used too, and potatoes a bit less crispy. The pork was a little bit on the drier side, but the raisin glaze on top was pretty good. The two seafood dishes were probably my favorites. The shrimp was nicely made and tasted delicious and the calamari, while a little cool, was still nice and crispy and had great flavor. Service feels a bit rushed, particularly by the bussers, our server was great. We kept getting asked if we were done with dishes (we had a full prawn still on one of the plates). A little too eager to clear the plates.

Yelp
Everything was delicious, especially the arroz caldoso. Highly recommend the seafood dishes

Yelp
My new favorite neighborhood gem in Williamsburg, Bar Baserri. It's the only real-deal Spanish tapas spot around that goes beyond the usual canned and cured fare. The vibe is cozy and inviting, the wine list is full of beautiful Spanish picks by the glass, and the food? Next level. I'm obsessed with the bone marrow, the pan con tomate topped with silky jamón ibérico, the prawns over ajo blanco, and the steak with confit shiitakes. Already plotting my next visit!

Yelp
So so bad. Horrendous. Insanely expensive, and horribly managed. Avoid at all costs. This place will close soon.

Yelp
Great Spanish restaurant from one of the alums of Michelin-starred Casa Mono. If you want some jambon, a glass of wine, a small plate, sit at the bar and chill, or come with a date, this is the place for you. All the plates we tried were delicous. Service was tight, on par. Recommended highly, there's not a place quite like this in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Absolutely loved Bar Baserri! The atmosphere is warm and lively, perfect for a casual night out or a cozy dinner. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Every dish we tried was fresh and flavorful Patata bravas and Pulpo. You can tell they really care about quality and presentation. Great wine list too! Definitely a hidden gem worth coming back to.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious. Paired with an immersive atmosphere and very attentive service, Bar Baserri nails the Spanish wine bar experience.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this vibey restaurant by chance and had the best jamón and olive oil I've ever tasted (spread across three different dishes). This will be my secret date spot in Williamsburg from now.

Yelp
Unfortunately our service at Bar Baserri was quite bad, and food and atmosphere could not make up for it. We were seated 45 minutes after our reservation (the team was nice about this and did apologize, but still a long wait for the table) and once we were seated, it took another 45 minutes to get a single drink. So we had to wait 1.5 hours after our reservation to have drinks. We had ordered pretty immediately after sitting down, and checked on our drinks with 3 different staff before our server finally came back and realized they forgot to put in the order. There was not a single apology for this taking so long, and frankly I felt that our server was pretty rude to us when we asked about this. Outside of things taking so long, there was no knowledge of the menu whatsoever, and the server was also visibly annoyed when we asked basic questions about the menu. The restaurant was fairly new so I understand there are going to be some kinks, but for the price of the food I would want our server to have some understanding of the menu and also for the team to want to makeup for a frankly awful wait time. The food was good but nothing special, atmosphere was nice, it just can't make up for the service. We did request to have a bottle of wine comped which they begrudgingly did, I would just expect a bit more hospitality in a restaurant that is upscale. I hope they figure it out and this was a one off experience, as outside of that it could be a good restaurant.

Yelp
one of the best bar in Williamsburg, nice renovation, very good Spanish restaurant bar
