Vice City Pizza South Miami - Review - South Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"At first, Vice City Pizza was just popping up inside South Miami’s Bar Bella. But they’ve officially announced that they’re there to stay. You can expect the same Detroit-style slices as theirKendall location." - Mariana Trabanino

Bar Bella Opens in Miami, Florida - Eater Miami

"Bar Bella, a new Spanish tapas restaurant from veteran restaurateur Jorgie Ramos, has opened in the former Tacocraft space in South Miami. The restaurant’s name and concept were inspired by Ramos’s daughter Isabella, whose heritage bridges his Cuban background and her mother’s Midwestern roots. The menu reflects this cultural blend, combining Spanish tapas with American barbecue techniques. “Our goal is to marry the heritage,” said Ramos, who also leads Cebeda Rooftop in Coral Gables. “We’re doing smoked paellas, we’re doing barbacoa, we got oysters, we got crudos — we have a little bit of everything.” The menu ranges from raw bar offerings like East and West Coast oysters with piquillo pepper escabeche to a variety of small plates including bacon-wrapped dates with chorizo and blue cheese, paprika-dusted corn ribs, and both ham and garlic soup croquetas. For heartier options, the “Rancho” section features a pork belly jam-topped smash burger, smoked pork butt with cafecito-tallow caramel, and rabo encendido empanadas. The restaurant’s specialties include a rotating smoked paella — currently featuring crispy chicken oyster and foie gras — and a daily barbacoa preparation that might showcase wagyu picanha with roasted bone marrow and smoked sopa de hueso. The beverage program highlights Spanish wines and cocktails with playful names nodding to local spots, like the “Banned from Boogies” frozen cocktail made with peach puree, cranberry, peach liquor, and Jägermeister. The restaurant also features two distinct bar spaces — a front tapas bar and a more lively back bar called Abi Maria, a revival of Ramos’s previous Kendall bar that will debut its own menu in the coming weeks. “Of all the places we’ve had, this one feels really good. If you walk in, it feels very homey, it feels like us,” says Ramos. The restaurant aims to be both a destination and a neighborhood mainstay in South Miami, an area Ramos grew up in and feels passionate about revitalizing. “It’s an amazing neighborhood that’s just not tapped yet.”" - Olee Fowler

Came here for lunch and came in right before the lunch crowd so we were seated immediately. The place was playing loud 80s music which was fine, maybe a little too loud but whatever. They had two frozen drinks: Long Island ice tea and another one that was basically horchata and tequila. Both were tasty. The pizzas are Detroit style which means they are deep dish. The crust was very focaccia-ish: crispy, crunchy. We had a personal supreme which was basically a square cut into 2 triangles. It was very good. We also ordered a “shareable” pepperoni with hot honey. It was slight bigger and was cut up into 6 smaller squares. It wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be but still good. Our server was friendly and kept checking on us every so often. Parking is available off the street or at the municipal garage around the corner. We saw the truffle tater tot’s on another table and they looked delicious and the prosciutto croquetas sound amazing so we will have to come back.

Pizza was really tasty and DIFFERENT! It's on a light, airy, crispy, tasty focaccia type crust. Best to savor it slowly. I would have given it 5 stars if the pizza came out hotter (even after a few attempts, it was served just kinda warmish), and the background music wasn't ONLY Hip Hop, but more varied. It's not usually a genre you pair with food. It was after 9 on a Saturday, and Alex the very cool, gracious host informed me that the music is more varied during earlier dayparts. Leah our server was kind, knowledgeable, and helpful! Seasonally, the menu is more varied from like November to May/June when Bar Bella is a part of this restaurant concept. Lighting and overall atmosphere is really cool though, and there's a speak easy in the back with fun, creatively named cocktails. It's a great value overall. I recommend coming earlier in the day unless you can deal with exclusively Hip Hop vs a variety of music which may take a little effort for some. The pizza and overall vibe is worth a visit! I'll be back again as I'm often in the area to check out all the great live entertainment in the area on weekends. As a Wedding and Event DJ in Miami, I enjoy listening to and supporting live entertainment, and work closely with my clients to curate the right music for their tastes while being mindful of the segment of their event i.e. cocktail, dinner, and dancing music. I get the edginess of Hip Hop and how that may tie in to the "Vice City" concept, and that there is a speak easy in the rear, but it doesn't complement the dining experience. Maybe management should consider a separate playlist on a zone control with Hip Hop in the speak easy, and more of a variety of genres or different more appropriate feel in the dining area?

Absolutely loved my first time trying this place. I came for my birthday and the service was amazing. Tommy took great care of us. The happy hour deals are amazing, and the outside seating was perfect. Butter lettuce, and ham croquetas were amazing. The only negative thing I have is that our paella was a bit more salty than I would have liked, but the bread pudding and great bar sips made up for that.🍹

Came across this restaurant looking for a place with tapas. Everything we had was delicious. The tortilla was not how we expected it but ended up being our favorite dish. The sauce on top was delicious, broth underneath with meat inside the tortilla, it was so different and so yummy. The grilled cheese was great as well, crispy with a thin layer of ham. We also ordered croquetas and dates which were both great as well, everything was hot and had amazing flavor. Can’t wait to go back and try happy hour.

You walk in, and it’s loud, dark, and disorganized. You have to walk up to the crowded bar to order takeout because there’s no designated place to order. A server bumps into you as you approach the bar because there’s barely any room to move. Strike 1. You try to order vegan pizza. They’re out of the vegan cheese. Strike 2. You get your “pizza” if you can even call it that. It’s just greasy bread, with a light spread. You get the cheeseless marinara pizza because it’s on the menu. Photo attached says it all. Strike 3. Never again

We recently checked out Bar Bella in South Miami, and it was fantastic! They’ve got this cool mix of Midwest BBQ and Spanish tapas that totally works. Everything we tried was delicious. The happy hour menu is amazing, great deals on food and cocktails. The staff was awesome; shoutout to Richard, our friendly server, and Anthony, the talented bartender, for making our visit special. Definitely recommend giving Bar Bella a try!

Bar Bella is the latest venture of Chef Jorge Ramos, one of my favorite chefs in Miami. He’s also known for Cebada Rooftop and Barley, Abi Maria and Vice City Pizza. A cozy environment in the former Tacocraft spot in South Miami. The menu has some of the favorites from Cebada and some unique additions with a barbacoa flair. The staff is friendly and service is excellent. The food is magnificent, as you would expect from Jorge Ramos. I am not a fan of restaurant chicken, but the smoked chicken is the best I had in a restaurant, and a must try. The cocktails are imaginative and not too strong or too sweet. Another winner of a concept from Jorge Ramos that I will be visiting often.

Yelp
Last weekend we came to the speakeasy side of this restaurant just for a drink and it was great; tonight we had dinner in the main dining room. What a wonderful time! To start off with, the hostess was very welcoming and friendly and sat us promptly. Our server, Samantha, came over right away and got our drink order and explained the menu to us. We noticed they had great music playing also! Loud enough that there was a lively vibe to the place but not so loud that we couldn't hear across the table. I have to add that they have the PERFECT ratio for fountain Diet Coke here. It was so crisp! We first had the Smoked Brie which had pistachios and a raspberry sauce on top. It was excellent. My husband doesn't usually like any jams on his cheese and even he loved this one, he cleaned the plate! Next we had the Corn Ribs. These were my favorite. Elote style with lots of seasoning and sauce. Yum! And a fun way to eat corn! Then we tried the Patatas Bravas. These were my husbands favorite and I also loved them. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, lots of yummy sauces mixed in. Another must try! As born and raised "Miamians" we don't ever pass up a croqueta. These did not disappoint! They come with a pepper jelly that created the perfect layering of flavors. We shared the Smoked Short Rib Paella for our entree and I think I'll have to get this every time we come back here. It was SO GOOD. Crispy rice, fresh veggie toppings, delicious seasonings and sauces, not to mention THE SHORT RIB. 10's across the board. If you can believe it, we had to get dessert when I saw the Cookie Dough Bread Pudding on the menu. By now I knew that everything from the kitchen was going to be absolutely delectable but this dish was the literal cherry on top. A dense bread pudding with nodes of coffee and I think maybe even some bourbon? I don't know where the cookie dough was incorporated, either in the bread pudding itself or in the ice cream it was served with but it was all so tasty I didn't even care. Everything was DIVINE from start to finish and I already can't wait to be come back and try so much more!

Yelp
Bar Bella in South Miami is where culinary ambition meets pure, unfiltered indulgence. Chef Jorgie Ramos plays with fire--both literally and figuratively--fusing Spanish tapas with Midwestern barbecue traditions in a way that feels both bold and effortless. The atmosphere is intimate yet energetic, with a bar that hums with life and a kitchen that delivers nothing short of magic. The Smoked Duck Drummets arrive lacquered in smoky perfection, their crisp skin giving way to impossibly tender meat that barely clings to the bone. Then there's The Burger--a masterpiece layered with pork belly jam, piquillo aioli, and havarti cheese--rich, messy, and unapologetically decadent. Each bite is a study in balance, salty-sweet perfection wrapped in a bun. The cocktails hold their own against the food. Pay the Meter is a bright, invigorating pour that cuts through the richness of the meal with a refreshing hit of citrus. I Skipped Abs for This is another standout, served in a playful pig-shaped cup that practically dares you to take yourself too seriously. It's not just a cocktail; it's an experience--one that embraces indulgence with a wink and a nod. Service is dialed in--attentive, confident, and eager to guide you through the experience without hovering. Every recommendation feels like an inside tip rather than a script. Bar Bella proves that great food and drink should be bold, fun, and just a little bit reckless.

Yelp
The food is great. The smoked paella was delicious. Service was good and the ambience is very nice. I wasn't necessarily wowed by every dish we ordered however everything was tasty and I enjoyed the experience of dining at Bar Bella overall. My fiancé enjoyed her cocktail quite a bit and I loved the bar, fully stocked and a wide selection of spirits

Yelp
Food was delicious! Tapas style for people to share mostly. We enjoyed all the plates we got. The paellas are not your typical paellas - they come in a cast iron pan and are crispy on the bottom. We loved it, but if you're looking for your typical paella, maybe pass and try another plate. The pan con tomate, patatas bravas, and ham croquetas were great! Will be back to try more.

Yelp
I've been following Chef Jorge for a while ago. I met him during covid when I visited at his place in Dadeland called Abi Maria. The food there was phenomenal btw. So when I saw that he had opened Bar Bella, I knew I had to pass by! It had also been a while since I had tried any of his food and I was excited to venture into something new. His spot is located across the street from the infamous Bougainvillea bar, and there is an abundance of street parking, so there isn't a problem finding any. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by decorous red lighting and funky tunes playing in the background. That alone, signaled that the food would be fire haha. To my surprise, I was greeted by chef who was chatting it up with other guests. My night started with an ice-cold dirty martini and half a dozen roasted oysters. They were amazing and packed with flavor! I recommend any oyster lover to come and try these out. Throughout my visit, I had smoked prime rib carpaccio and butternut squash paella. Holy hell. Have you ever had a dish so good you never want it to end? Well, that's what happened that night. The squash alone is smoked for 6 hour before it is mixed in with all the other ingredients. Before I left, I grabbed an order of caviar bumps and a whipped truffle buratta salad to- go. I've been seeing people posting on social media about these bumps and when I saw that Bar Bella had it on the menu, I HAD to try them out haha. I was skeptical about how they would hold on the drive to my friend's but the bartender made sure to package them in a way that was sustainable. It worked out because my friend thought it was a funny surprise and enjoyed them. Their happy hour is one I must come back to try, so you will definitely see me at this place again! Props to Chef Jorge and his team.

Yelp
We had an amazing time checking out this new spot in South Miami. Ambiance: The vibes were amazing! The music, bar area and main dining area are all great. The decor and details are beautiful. Food/Drinks: We went for happy hour on Friday night before going to the movies and the drinks and food specials were great pricing and absolutely delicious. We drank spritzes (I believe they were called Russel did it first) and they were delicious and generously poured. Then, I had a classic margarita which was beautiful and refreshing! For food, we recommend the croquetas (there are two types and both are great), the patatas bravas, oysters and caviar bump. Service: Richard was our server and he was spectacular! Took the time out to make our visit there very smooth and special. We even forgot out to-go boxes and were down the street and he came all the way after us to give them to us! He was exceptional and everyone we interacted with was very friendly and professional

Yelp
This is one of the greatest additions to South Miami. If you ever experienced Jorge's food at barley and swine you'll be ecstatic when you arrive at Bar Bella. Food was 11/10. And Saturday happy hour? Amazing! We tried the octopus, caviar bumps, clams, duck wings, short rib paella and bread pudding. Try them all. you're welcome! Only giving this a star rating because servers need a little help but not a deal breaker. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
First of all things on the menu were not available. This is a trendy restaurant to be seen. Food was horrible. The call a paella that was ready in 10 minutes. Burnt rice and tasteless. Stay away.

Yelp
Run, don't walk to Bar Bella!!! In the middle of a desolate South Miami there's a new bright spot! Bar Bella Spanish tapas bar with a twist. Food is a fresh twist on Spanish classics and outrageously good. The bars 2 of them are manned by awesome bartenders that take pride in their craft. The drinks are WOW! Perfectly balanced. And the atmosphere and decor perfect. This is my new favorite place!!

Ellie R.

Yelp
Amazing! Everything about Bat Bella is great! The food is amazing above anything I've tried. The atmosphere is chill & the staff is the nicest. Thrilled to have such an awesome place in the heart of South Miami
