Enjoy fluffy yet crispy sourdough-crust pizza in a lively waterside spot with a bocce court and a cozy fire pit on a scenic patio.
"Make your choice from a dozen thin-crust sourdough pizza toppings including pepperoni, prosciutto, pork sausage, pear, and more to enjoy at an outdoor table where a small Richardson Bay beach and a bocce court add atmosphere. Order the signature sangria to accompany starters such as meatballs and chicken wings while a winning pizza is fired up. Note the date night magnet: a fire pit." - Dianne de Guzman, Eater Staff
"There’s no bocce at Bar Bocce—tables and chairs have overtaken the court, and yes, it’s a travesty (and false advertising, but we’re not lawyers). We still like this Sausalito place for the patio, Richardson Bay views, and first-come, first-serve seats. The move is to camp out right by the firepit that’s usually at full blast—you’ll be warm and toasty as you drink double-shot cocktails, beer, or wine by the glass, and speculate about whether Bar Bocce will ever change the name. The food, like meatballs, calamari, and sourdough pizzas are passable but non-essential to the experience. Take in the casual air, and watch people snap selfies on the public beach in front." - Lani Conway
"Bar Bocce is where you can pretend you’re at a beach club in Mykonos without having to actually go to Mykonos. However, it does require a field trip to Sausalito. Since it’s also one of the only bars in the Bay Area that’s actually on the water, it’s become our go-to for an afternoon of bocce, pizza, and having a few beers or splitting a pitcher of sangria." - will kamensky, nic strain 2
"Bar Bocce is a pizza place in Sausalito favored by Tony Gemignani." - Paolo Bicchieri
"Now that the weather doesn’t suck, you want to use your carshare account for something other than Costco runs and telling people how much time you’re going to start spending in Napa. And you can still do those things, but you should also be taking in the incredible bay views from Bar Bocce in Marin. Even though it’s located just across the bridge, a trip here feels like a full vacation, and it’s a great place to come with a few people when the second best thing you can think of is sitting on some beach chairs on your suspect roof. Play some cornhole and maybe bet to see who will be the DD to drive back. If you lose, it’s no big deal, just keep looking out over the water and make them pay for the pizza you’re going to order." - will kamensky
