This is a very hip spot in a vibrant neighborhood. We enjoyed our drinks and the atmosphere, though we were disappointed to realize they don’t have a full food menu. The white bean dip was a good appetizer to satisfy us until we could find dinner elsewhere. Definitely worth a visit, but not on an empty stomach.

My sister had an event held here and it was perfect for a small event (20-60 people). The atmosphere is very clean and green aesthetic. Would definitely recommend. The owner came up with a personalized drink menu and was so great in helping us get everything figured out.

Drinks are always very good here but the bartender Erin knocked it out of the park. We ordered three “Bartender’s Choice” each (six total) and each one was somehow better than the last. They have some unique ingredients (like tomato gin) and she paired them so well. I don’t have a single point of criticism. These were probably the best drinks I’ve ever had. I wish I could have had more LOL. Also they are always very nice there.

Realized I’d been here quite a few times so time for a review. Vibes are really good. Looks like a hippie cafe when it’s actually a bar that opens in the evening. Decor was very artsy. Service is amazing. Once I sat at the bar and knocked over my remaining half a cup of drink. The bartender very gracefully took care of the mess and precisely mixed another half a cup of the same drink for me. Their bartender’s choice is worth trying too! Would 100% recommend if you’re looking for a good place for date/hang out with friends.

I love the drinks here, they're beautifully crafted and always delicious. They have some of the best cocktails in the city, but it's very crowded and loud with slow service. They discourage you from approaching the bar unless seated there, yet don't have enough staff to service those that are seated away from it.

Me & my partner went in for cocktails , the cocktails are freshly made , absolutely delicious will be returning. LGBTQ friendly absolutely will be supporting 10/10 everyone was kind the music was a vibe , super cute . Loved the plants and greenery !! 🏝️

We were hopping around Butler. Sarah from New Amsterdam recommended we stop here. Worst experience I've ever had in a bar. Because there were 5 of us stopping for a drink, we were suggested a table from the male bartender. I told him we were just stopping for 1 drink, he still suggested a table. None of us wanted to sit at a table. He suggested the chairs that I told him were going to be occupied by the people who were standing at the front door, on their way in, to another customer. I told her people were sitting there and the bartender knew that. He then got very rude and argumentative. I moved my water glass to be in front of my sister in law because I didn't want a water and knew she would. He was angry over that because "we pour everyone water" .... I was just trying to save him from washing an extra glass and wasting his time. He said if I didn't like his service we could go elsewhere. I didn't have a problem with his service, I had a problem his attitude and wanting to sit us somewhere we didn't need to be for a 20 min beverage stop and it just escalated from there. He then snatched up our water glasses and told us we could move along. Sad, we were excited to be there.

I really love the vibe of this place! I was able to sit at the gorgeous bar this time and loved it! This was during dry january and I love that they had multiple zero proof mocktail options! I started with the zero proof espresso martini! It was beautiful, presentation is super important to me for my espresso tinis! Tasted good too! For my second beverage, the bartender offered to make me something off the cuff because they had a lot of zero proof spirits! It was a n/a whiskey based mocktail, and I found it really refreshing!

Lovely time with evening drinks at Bar Botanico. Super clean and I love the nature aesthetic. Bartenders were really knowledgeable and attentive. All our drinks were delicious! I started with Spirited Away since I prefer Asian flavors in cocktails and it was strong and tasty! Then tried one of their hot cocktails, the Bolivia Rodrigo, and it was a perfect way to warm me up. It is very spiced so if you're not looking for that don't order it. Can't wait to go back!

Stopped by the bar after a dinner in Lawrenceville. My friend and I got a few drinks. We went on a Monday evening so it wasn't very crowded and got a seat at the bar right away. The bartender was very attentive and made some delicious cocktails. I also got a bartenders choice cocktail because I wanted a specific liqueur and it was delicious. Always a great time here with some fantastic cocktails and service!

Do yourself a favor....get the bartender's choice. The staff is so knowledgeable and a lot of fun. The bartenders work to listen to your preferences and craft a cocktail that appeal to you, maybe even push your boundaries. The vibe is clean and a plant lady's dream. Don't worry, you can also order off of their menu which is full of great cocktail or even mocktail choices.

Love it in here, decor is amazing and drinks are even better, definitely recommend checking it out!

Bar Botanico is the cutest little cocktail bar on Butler Street in Lawrenceville. I stopped by with a small group of friends on a Sunday afternoon and had no trouble snagging a couple of seats by the bar. There isn't a ton of seating available (bar seating, some seats by the front window, and a few small tables in the back area) so keep that in mind. We ordered a few cocktails off the menu and our bartender made them pretty quickly. All the cocktails at Bar Botanico are always delightful. While they can feel a little pricey at times, I definitely think they're worth it. I also enjoy the Bartender's Choice when I've gotten it before - they definitely know what they're doing here! We didn't get any food this time around but they do have a small selection of tasty snacks available if you need food in a pinch.

We liked the vibe of the bar and the bartender quickly accommodated a seating of 7! The drinks were full of flavor and very creative. It was on the more expensive side for drinks but you are also paying for the vibe

Cocktail place with bartenders that really know their stuff. They have a very creative menu to order off of, and I always appreciate when there's a bartenders choice option if you're craving something off menu Small space and it can get pretty crowded and loud, so probably not the best spot for an intimate conversation. I much prefer being seated at the bar to watch the cocktails being made, but they do have servers that rotate around the tables (albeit can be a little slow on busy days) Definitely try the cool hand cukes it's dangerously good

I think that this is my favorite cocktail bar in Pittsburgh so far. They can actually make a really good pico sour off the menu and it is delicious. I have been trying to find a place that can make it and they do a really good job. The service is amazing, waiter was so friendly. And of course the vibe is also great, really pretty inside, nice aesthetic. Their music was banging also. Haha. Must try for anyone who loves strong and good cocktails.

Love the vibe and their drinks! Cinema was a popcorn infused bourbon and it's so good, the popcorn came with it was actually super flavorful and I took every bite of it lol. Food we chose was pub cheese, we had some veggie and crackers instead of their potato chips. But it's still very delicious. Definitely recommend!

Very unfortunate!!!!! Couldn't get the full experience due to a lazy worker( tall bearded guy with glasses ) .. this guy literally told me and my coworker to get up from a bar seating area and literally had his friend take our seats .. I would love to speak to someone regarding his behavior

I wanted to like this place way more than I did, trust me! Upon walking in no one greeted us or even walked over to the bar area that is facing the street for a good 10 minutes until I walked up to the bartender and asked for some service. The guy who waited on us was weird af and awkward af and was kinda rude to my gf when she asked about the drinks, but she asked me to not say anything after he walked away because she knows how I am. That is weird to me considering he is a bartender and his job is service and to be extra nice and extra understanding in regards to what's on the menu if someone has a question. Smdh! The other lady bartender who brought us our drinks was amazing, super nice, friendly and explained what she brought us. I made sure to walk up and tip her good after that. The drinks were amazing, actually some of the best I've ever had and the interior is super chic and everyone there looked happy, but the initial service we received or lack there of was horrendous considering what I paid and still tipped. I'll give them another shot the next time I'm in town to see how the service is then.

I've been wanting to go to this bar for every and a friend and I walked by and decided to give it a try. We got a seat at the bar. All the staff were so friendly and helpful! We happened to go during their "Harry's house" party - their entire drink menu was based off of songs from Harry styles last album - how fun! The cocktails are SO good and fun. The aesthetic is so cool and modern. This is a perfect first date spot or a great spot to catch up with a friend. I will say it is pretty tiny so it's not great for large groups.

Always a good evening when it includes Bar Botanico! The atmosphere is light and airy, with lots of plants and greenery. The drinks are great, featuring interest flavors and truly something for everyone! The food was very tasty - this last time, I got the pork belly and potato wedges, which were so delicious. Pork belly was MUCH spicier than I thought it would be, but my Dainty Dame drink cooled my mouth in the best way. It was very busy on a Wednesday evening around 6 PM, growing more busy by the time we left at 7:30ish, but it never felt too crowded. We sat in a back table, but by the time we left the bar was filled and those tables by us were filling up too. Overall; a good happy hour experience that I would recommend to anyone! Now, if only Lawrenceville could figure out their parking... (we parked on a side street for a very short walk!) I hope to be back soon!

Great place! Food can be hit or miss but the cocktails are always great. Their menu is solid but I always love going for bartenders choice. Each person that works there is super creative and always does a fantastic job! No matter what you like they can find a drink that will cater to your taste buds. If you decide to go off the actual cocktail menu, I would highly recommend the pisco milk punch. They clarify it and it is out of this world!

"One of the best mixed drinks in Lawrenceville." - Our friend who lives in Pittsburgh Everyone her wore masks and were super kind and professional The space is perfect for a girls day or a day-date. We were waiting ten minutes before they opened but they let us in early to use their wifi. We all really enjoyed our drinks and the cozy environment! My whiskey sour was definitively on the stronger side but I don't normally drink much. Our friend who lives in town and is knowledgeable about mixed drinks said this place is one of the best! Would definitely come here again for the drinks but also since it's in a great area where there's a lot of cute shops nearby to go to.

What a nice place for drinks and the waitstaff are just soooo friendly!!!! Out for an evening in Lawrencevilee and enjoying the weather with a friend, so we decided to stroll and get a drink. We ordered The Bees Knees drink and it was delicousness! The waitress was friendly and when I told her I like sweet drinks she let me know the drink wasn't sweet, but she could sweeten it up as much as I liked. Can't wait to go there for food and drinks!

Bar Botanico is one of the better cocktail bars in Pittsburgh. Owner, Kelsie, always has an excellent drink menu available that changes all the time. However, my favorite is the Bartenders Choice. All their bartenders are fantastic, but if Manager Keiran is behind the bar, let him get creative for you. He never disappoints.

Lovely, but busy! Bar Botanica is a notorious first date spot right in the center of Lawrenceville. The cocktails are thoughtful and made with care. The selection of beers keeps me happy. If you're looking for immaculate vibes, hip atmosphere, and don't mind a wait and noise, then botanico is perfect for you!

Very busy - but they made room for us. Made 4 boutique cocktails and got us our bill in time to make dinner down the street, all in under 45 minutes. Great service, great cocktails. It's busy, but I'm glad that they're doing so well.

Walked into a bustling yet cozy vibe on a freezing Pittsburgh day. Came to try the Sozin's Comet and it was so comforting, almost tea-like as it's a hot cocktail and the spices were reminiscent of mulled wine. Exactly what I wanted and needed in 10 degree weather! Lots of plants inside making it feel extra homey. Service was great and will definitely return next time I'm in Lawrenceville, hopefully to try some food too.

*HIGHLY RECOMMEND* (Before Covid) Love their concept of zero food waste. Given a simple menu of the meat, fish, or vegetarian/vegan set, the whole dining experience is a pleasant surprise. As an adventurous food lover, this place is right up my alley as I get to enjoy different meals each time, no two ever the same. My friends and I basically ordered each of the sets and they were all delicious. The sets were just the right size, the presentation just as aesthetic as the restaurant itself, and the food was well seasoned and garnished. The ingredients they used were definitely fresh as noticeable by the color, taste, and texture. Heard their drinks are good as well but I have not tried that yet. Right now, they are doing drinks only so I will have to hop on it sometime. *VERDICT* I would DEFINITELY go back again whenever it is safe to do so :)

This place had great ambiance for hipster vibes. It was clean. The staff were very friendly. The drinks were awesome. The food tastes great! Only downside is the "amount" of food compared to the prices did not match up. I think I wouldn't have been let down if there were pictures of the food and/or the amount you are receiving was listed. Overall decent spot though.

I finally got to check out Bar Botanico! My friend suggested it for a girls night on a weekday, and I assumed it would be too busy to get in! I remember people waiting in line outside when they first opened. I expected it to still be like that. There were 5 of us and we got a table at 7 pm. The decor is beautiful! It is very clean and bright. It's a very cool and trendy bar/restaurant. We ordered cocktails first. The menu is a little overwhelming and I found myself googling cocktail ingredients to know what I'd like! Lol I know basic types of drinks and ingredients that I like, but this was very advanced. I decided on the DAINTY DAME - Cocchi Rosa, Carpano Bianco, Vanilla, Lemon, Cava. It was presented beautifully with little flowers pinned onto the side of the champagne flute. I loved my drink. It was refreshing and a good balance between bitter and sweet. My other friends ordered the "Bartender's Choice". You can tell the bartenders the flavor profiles you like, and they will create something special for you. My friends loved their drinks! One had coconut milk, aloe, lime, and my other friend had tequila, grapefruit, and something spicy. It was fun to see and try different things! I heard that their mac and cheese was actually not like typical mac and cheese and more like fresh pasta in cheese sauce. I knew I wanted a meal, so I went with the veggie burger with a side of mac and cheese. The veg burger patty was on a toasted bun with 2 sauces, but I wish it had toppings! It was pretty dense and needed lettuce, tomato, onion in my opinion. The garlic aioli sauce was really good to dip it in. I ended up cutting it with just half the bun because it was so heavy. I enjoyed it, but would not order it again. The mac and cheese was essentially cacio e pepe. Wow, it was the highlight of the dinner! It had some toasted breadcrumbs on top, and was creamy and crunchy. I loved it! My friends got french fries that I tasted and they were yummy and homemade. My other friend got a big salad, and I will definitely order that next time. It looked fresh and was bigger than I expected. We also shared the buffalo cauliflower wings and they were awesome! It came with vegan ranch and bleu cheese. Next time I will order one of their pastas for my meal.

Really unique experience at Bar Botanico! You order your type of meal (ie a meat dish, a non meat pizza, etc) and they bring you whatever the chef decided to make off that theme. Everything that we received was so tasty with amazing flavors and big portions. Our drinks worked in the same way by telling them your type of alcohol and flavors. I would recommend coming here unless you are a very picky eater as you may get something that you don't want to eat. However, they also have a great bar area that you could come for drinks. Overall we had a great time and loved the food and interior decor.

Had a lovely Christmas date the evening of the Dec 23rd. First we stopped into @bar_botanico for an expertly crafted cocktail. Everything on the menu sounded so unique, it was hard to choose just one drink - we'll have to go back to try more! I went with THE VETERAN: Plantation 5 Year Rum, Vanilla Demerara, Drambuie, & Lemon. It was so nice & our bartender was super friendly too. Very relaxed, chill vibes in this cozy little space.

Great vibes, great drinks, great food. I didn't have many expectations when coming here for the first time but was I blown away. Upon entering, we were greeted with friendly service and an aesthetic interior (so many plants!!). We ordered 3 different drinks (THE LETTY, PISCO MILK PUNCH, MOJITO) which were all super tasty, smooth and not too overpowering with the taste of alcohol. We also ordered food just expecting typical bar food but the FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH was probably one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had. It was a perfect size, the chicken was perfectly crunchy on the outside and the meat was moist and tender. The side of chips were also the best house chips I've ever had, they were the perfect crisp (not too hard but with a satisfying snap). My first visit was such a great experience that I'm already looking forward to the next time I go! tldr; Food 5/5 Drinks 5/5 Service 5/5 Interior 5/5

This place has THE VIBE for a Saturday night. Our bartender made us a gin based Nordic cocktail. Over all the service was good and the bar looked amazing.

I was told by my friends to post this review I wrote to them via text after my first time at Bar Botanico. Enjoy (and please go there! Great atmosphere! Great drinks!)! Today's drink I tried was called "Feature of the Month - Gisele." At first, the ingredient list looked dull compared to the others on the menu; there was even a drink titled "Cinema" that had popcorn infused bourbon and cheddar popcorn as a side! However, there I spotted it - the holy grail; the apple of my eye; the wonderment of my soul: the BAJA BLAST. As in, the iconic beverage of THE Taco Bell (where Live Más is more than just a phrase). That's when I knew - my drink and I had to Live Más. On first taste, it tasted fire. Or more like, it tasted LIKE fire. The tequila overpowered the entire thing. I was wondering how I would stomach it, or rather, how my liver would react. Then, my second sip, I was transported into a world of flavor. I tasted the hints of lime and pineapple I was promised, but more importantly, the Baja Blast sang. It was glorious. It was a soulful mixture of sweet and sour. As a girly whose flavor profile favors sour, and is a sucker for the aesthetically pleasing gimlet look, I loved the drink. I would in fact get it again. 10/10.

I have come here several times for cocktails, and I think it's on of the best places for them on the east end! I absolutely love doing Bartender's Choice - the cocktail where you simply tell them what you like and what you don't and they create something just for you. It's never failed me and it's always such a fun surprise. Stop in and check them out. It's a great vibe, great drinks, and great location!

Great interior and cocktails here! The vibes are great in this bar and waiter was super friendly. The food wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad either. I'd probably come back again, but when you don't have to buy food with drinks because of the covid rules.

classy cocktail place in the heart of lawrenceville. the cocktail menu is elevated, very original and well crafted. the drinks are expensive, but given the quality of the ingredients and the atmosphere, i would expect that. will definitely be coming back here.

OK, before I talk about how nice this restaurant is here is my Rant! Ladies, do not go out to eat and bath in perfume. A young lady walked in and immediately we were overcome with this terrible perfume. Everyone turned to look (not just us). A short time later a friend of hers came in, sorry for that person. (OH Yeah, have had men do this too, so men need to be careful of how much cologne you use, too). Anyway just as our meal arrived we were overcome. Actually had to wait a few minutes to eat. Do you not realize that part of a good dining experience is to use all your senses including smell? OMG it was terrible. On to BB. Great bar with friendly and helpful staff. Was looking at the dinner set and asked what type of shellfish, fish and meat were being served to get a feel for our order. When our order came out the sides and meal were all described to use in great detail. Loved the salad and zucchini that had some Japanese and Korean flavors. My choice was a very tasteful roasted beef on grits with a couple of small roasted veggies. Really a well thought out meal and great tasting. It is a little different since you do not know what you are getting until it arrives with a thoughtful description. But a really lovely meal.

What a cute bar!! Covid times: They have a window you can do cocktails to go. Also do in-house dining with social distancing and face masking. Food - small rotating menu. The kitchen does close at 9 so be aware if you come hungry. On the happy hour menu I tried the bites plate and you let the bartender know if you're vegetarian or not and the chef makes a plate accordingly. I loved it to try an array of things and they were all delicious! Drinks - delicious cocktails. Great bartenders. Rotating menu. Ambiance - best part of the place. Service has always been great but the open doors, white walls and plants gives off a very fresh inviting vibe. Overall I see this becoming a regular spot for me...unfortunately for my wallet !

Unique new place! In order to decrease waste, the menu each day is based on what fresh ingredients they have. You let them know if you want veggie, vegan, meat, or fish and they prepare from there! You can also let them know if you don't care for something and they will omit it. The cocktails (and mock tails) are all very fresh and tasty. Mine has ginger and grapefruit and it was absolutely delicious! The only negative thing I have to say is the service was a little slow. If you are feeling adventurous and don't mind giving up some control to your dining experience, definitely check this place out!

This is a nice new restaurant right on Butler. It's a small space so they cannot accommodate many people at once and do not take reservations. We came at 8:30 on a Saturday night hoping to miss the main rush crowd. The kitchen closes at 10 and we were told they weren't taking anymore tables for dinner. So, it seems if you want to sit at a table, you have to to wait 1 hr+ and there's really nowhere to wait inside. They really need to take reservations. The bar is first come first serve and we ended up sitting there. The menu is really simple where you basically just pick your type of protein and they make a dish. I ordered beef, which turned out to be short ribs over grits and was delicious. It came with soup and a sort of grapefruit and avocado salad. The price point is a bit high. It was about $40 for the main entree. I think they should cut out those random sides that automaticcally come with the dish and lower the price $10-$15. I also saw that pizza was one of the menu options, but they were charging $30 for a pizza. Again, price point is too high. Overall it was a nice dinner and a nice restaurant, but there are definitely some kinks to work out, which is to be expected from a new restaurant.
