The 38 Best Restaurants in Rome, Italy

"Childhood friends Fabio Macrì and Mauro Lenci converted a former print shop near the Basilica di San Paolo into Rome’s version of the Parisian neo-bistrot. The wine list features vino naturale from across Europe, but what really sets Bar Bozza apart are the small plates that balance bold flavors and seasonal produce, like pork skirt steak with blistered peppers and hot honey, or frittata with zucchini and Parmigiano-Reggiano cream. Macrì and Lenci pull the whole thing off without pretension." - Katie Parla

Natural wines that are very wisely selected. A must for those who love these wines. Service is very attentive and kind, an exception in Rome. Far from the turist logic, but few steps from places of the Ostiense area that were relevant for literature as Pasolini, Morante and Moravia came often in the restaurants here. Missing star is for food that is still of good quality but that could offer a wider selection. Bread is from Triticum, a 3 star of the Gambero Rosso. Addictive.

Good wine choices although I think they could be more clear about which by the glass they have. I ordered the beef tartar and it was good and well presented but lacked some depth in flavor. Loved the atmosphere and the music.

The best place to start exploring Rome. I always thought that you should go not to a tourist bar but to a local one. Great food and a great bar with everything you need. Fast service, polite staff and friendly owner Mauro. I recommend it to everyone.
