Bar Cantinetta - Review - Madison Valley - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Bar Cantinetta is a fancy Italian spot with just a few tables in a quiet part of Madison Valley, and it works well for a date, providing the food doesn’t have to be the most exciting thing about the evening. They serve good-enough drinking snacks like fried artichokes with chili aioli, burrata with grilled bread, and roasted figs with prosciutto and balsamic, along with homemade pizzas and fresh pasta (we like their carbonara). If you can get a cozy spot in the corner, you’re in for romantic candlelight and the best seat in the house for staring into each other’s eyes, potentially making everyone around you feel a little awkward." - Aimee Rizzo

Where To Have Dinner When You Really Want Il Corvo - Seattle - The Infatuation

"The team behind Il Corvo used to have a pizza spot, too, but it closed because the world is cruel. So if you’re feeling nostalgic and want a pizza along with some fresh pasta, Bar Cantinetta is a good thing to do for yourself. Pasta-wise, get some amatriciana if they have it, and you can’t go wrong with a squash blossom pizza on the side." - Aimee Rizzo

I had a wonderful experience at their new location. The vibes are right. The interior design, artwork, lighting and candles create the perfect atmosphere for a date or gathering with friends. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Just felt like a very cool place to be. The food was delicious. My risotto was perfectly cooked and braised short rib was impossibly tender.

immediately the staff treats you like family when you walk in the door. we couldn't figure out who the owner of the establishment was because every employee was taking the time to get to know and speak to every customer. our table was in a cozy corner with a bench on one side with decorative pillows and a lit candle. our server, Hugo, was so accommodating and personable. he made us feel so comfortable and welcomed, and was extremely knowledgable of the menu. the thing that stands out to me most about this dining experience was the fact that we were not rushed out the door. we arrived at 6:30pm and didn't leave until almost 9:30pm. I really admire that the staff isn't trying to get as many people in and out the door as humanly possible. it's a slow, methodical dining experience. my partner and I had lots of things off the menu, so ill rate them below: elena pinot grigio: 10/10 proscioutto appetizer: 10/10 burratta: 8/10 lobster mushrooms: 10/10 tortellini: 9/10 tagliatelle carbonara: 9/10 will absolutely be going back as soon as possible! this place is very very special.

It’s worth it for the impeccable atmosphere and interior alone - I’ve never been in such a beautiful and cozy restaurant. I couldn’t stop admiring all the details and gorgeous decor. Truly feels like being transported to another place. The bar is a dream! Came for New Years and the food was excellent. In particular the halibut and filet with red wine reduction were so lovely. I just have an important comment for the owner and customers - I had to ask for salt and pepper by the third course. Both my partner and I agreed that the first two courses were simply lacking only because there was not enough salt in the dishes. We were shy to ask for it, but by the time we did for the fish and steak the flavors were perfect. I recommend asking for salt and pepper at the table, because it was slightly disappointing to have the antipasti and pasta undersalted. Other than that, the food was totally top notch. A must try, and you won’t be able to resist the beautiful and romantic space.

Amazing atmosphere and food. Service was on point. We had the ribeye and pici, and olive oil cake for dessert. This is a special place!

New space with a decor reminding us of Florence. The food also did as well. The desserts were underwhelming.

Everything was delicious! Went here for a friends bday. The truffle fondue, prosciutto, and bolognese were delicious. BUT we had one thing that rubbed me the wrong way. I made a reservation for 2, but when we showed up (on time), there wasn’t a table ready so we sat at the bar. The bartender was lovely (I think his name was Chris), except that once we finished the bottle of wine that we ordered, he started pouring us a different wine without asking, and then charged us for it in the end. When I inquired about it, he said he’d been pouring us different wine for a couple glasses but didn’t tell us. We were totally unaware. He took off one of the two extra charged glasses, but still charged us for one. Left me peeved after an otherwise lovely meal.

The head chef is fantastic and came out and met me and the party I was with. The bar tender was extremely personable and introduced me to cocktails I never had before! (A Toronto) evening was incredible and you can tell they all really care about the diners experience!
