"Since 1850, many generations of the Morales family have worked at this local institution, which sits just a block off the main drag of Avenida de la Constitución. Large earthenware wine jugs line the walls, some acting as chalkboards for the menu of daily specials, like arroz con higado (rice with liver) or chicken with mushrooms cooked in amontillado sherry. The anchovies on toast are the perfect accompaniment to a glass of house vermouth." - Megan Lloyd

This restauraunt featured in various YouTube videos on the best Tapas in Seville and it did not disappoint! Fantastic Tapas; fresh ingredients, well prepared, also served quickly and great value. The Pork Cheek was out of this world and not to be missed! Would definitely recommend and will return when I’m next in Seville.

Came for lunch today on recommendation from a local Sevilla resident. Arrived (no reservation) at 1230hrs. Seated without issue in the back section (appears to be a front and back bar). Staff very friendly and patient. No paper menus - all written (in spanish) on the blackboard or in chalk on the big tall barrels. Very little English spoken by staff which was fine as it is a locals place. Food came out promptly with table bread - we had the spicy chorizo (4 slices), patatas frites with dipping sauce, sandwich (pringų), tenderloin with butter (lomo manteca), Sirloin (solomillo a la cream), the latter two being stand-out dishes. Pork or beef cheek not available today. Noted a few people ordering octopus. Drinks served icy cold. Reasonably priced and enough food for 2 people. Would recommend to others. Would go again after studying the menu a little better so we could understand all that was on offer as found it difficult to communicate with staff.

Google
Good food and experience. I wish they would provide an actual menu to the table. The server asked me to go to the front door to look for the menu sticked to the entrance while people coming in and out.

Google
Very Nice spot to have delicious tapas! This is the place to have a cold draft bier or a tinto de verano with croquetas, pimentos padron and we love the lagarto grilled beaf. We advice to eat at bar counter and check the kitchen, the chef is really quickly to prepare the food and you can check what seems good to order as well. The atmosphere is nice and old style. Do not expect to seat comfortably.. the place is for good drink and tapas.

Google
One of the best and most authentic tapas places in Seville. I recommend the pork cheek tapas, meat marinated in whisky and the meatballs.

Came here for lunch and it was not (yet) busy. Very old school place with a lot of character. We got 6/7 tapas with 2 beer. Was tasty and just the good amount for 2 ppl. Recommended!

Excellent tapas. The waiter was helpful and offered to choose plates for us - each of which were delicious. Great tinto de Verano. Good value for money.

This restaurant is truly a hidden gem that we wouldn’t have discovered if it hadn’t been recommended by locals. My wife was getting a haircut when her hairdresser mentioned that this spot is a favorite among locals. Intrigued, we did some research about the dishes we wanted to try. Since we don’t speak Spanish, we relied on pictures to communicate what we wanted to order, and it worked out perfectly. The food was absolutely amazing—everything from the Iberian ham, pork cheek, and squid to the croquettes and beef was outstanding. One of the most memorable aspects of our experience was the service. There was a big guy named Gabi, who seemed to be everywhere at once—assigning seats, taking orders, cleaning dishes, and wiping tables. He was like a superman, full of energy, and despite his cool exterior, he was actually very friendly and made us feel welcome. Overall, we felt completely immersed in the local atmosphere, and as tourists, it was a wonderful experience to be a part of such an authentic place. We’re so glad we took the recommendation—it’s truly a hidden gem.

Yelp
No visit complete in Seville without a pilgrimage to Casa Morales. The service rough but also efficient. The food is fantastic. Croquettes del casa, pickled sardines, russian salad, smoked salmon on queso fresco, smoked anchovies, bellota on bread, tuna escabeche, morcilla rice and 3.5 euro glasses of wine. All superb, prompt. It did not disappoint. Bravo!

Yelp
Recommended to us by people we met earlier in our stay in Seville. This place doesn't disappoint. The food is delicious and there are quite a few options of tapas available. Service is quick and friendly. The interior is quaint and you grab a small table and enjoy. We loved everything we had but highly recommend the meatballs and ham and cheese tapas

Yelp
My husband and I came here for lunch while we were staying in Seville. This place was in old town Seville, near our hotel, and came as a recommendation from a friend. We often walked past Casa Morales every day, and the place is very popular. After coming, we could see why. We came in around 12:30 - 1 pm on a Saturday. They have limited tables and seating, with some people standing around tables to eat. We grabbed the last remaining table. The waitress came over and took our drink orders before coming back a bit later to take the food orders. We ordered five tapas dishes, which was enough for us. In the Andalucian region, the local cuisine is delicious but heavy. Our taste buds always revelled in the food, but our weight on the scales did not. The five dishes we had here, jamon, tortilla a la crema, spinach and chickpeas, and the octopus, were all amazingly delicious. While everything was phenomenal, the two standouts for me were definitely the octopus and the tortilla. The tortilla consisted of a thick baked omelette, with a heavy, cheesy, creamy sauce. The octopus was grilled and sprinkled with paprika and liberally doused with olive oil. They had very little on the menu for vegetables. The spinach and chickpeas was one of the few vegetable dishes, and this wasn't particularly light or healthy, as this also came very heavily doused with olive oil. Casa Morales is definitely a must-visit restaurant if you're in Seville.

Yelp
In researching the food scene in Seville, Casa Morales frequently came up as an excellent option for an authentic tapas experience. My wife, brother in law, and I chose this restaurant in the old part of the city for our first meal in Seville and it completely lived up to that promise. At 2pm on a Thursday the place was heaving with folks crowded at the bar and standing around tables. We luckily snagged a table relatively quickly and ordered numerous tapas. The food arrived expediently and tasted overall great. We enjoyed almost everything we ordered, with highlights including the pork cheek, patatas bravas, cod with salmorejo, vinegared anchovies, and octopus. Despite how busy this place is, the service here felt fairly helpful and accommodating. Our main waitress gave us plenty of attention, helped us order, and was easily accessible for drink refills and food orders. The ambiance here is delightfully old school with a cave like feel and massive clay wine jugs in the dining room. Prices here are super reasonable, too, as we spent €65 on 2 glasses of good wine, 2 beers, and multiple tapas for 3 and left stuffed. Such a bustling place with so few tourists can feel intimidating, but take a chance here and you'll be rewarded with a truly delicious meal on the cheap in old world environs.

Yelp
This is a very happening place if you can find it. There is no sign outside; but when the door is open, they are open. The menu behind the entrance door has an English translation but once you enter it's all in Spanish. It has a very exiciting Vibe and quaint. If you can't read Spanish make sure you use google translate. Food is excellent and very reasonable.

Preeti R.

Yelp
I don't get the hype. If you don't speak Spanish, unfortunately you might have a hard time here because staff is busy and even if they did make eye contact, they weren't eager to help. The place is packed and there is no dedicated line, you just find a table when one becomes available. They were out of pretty much every dish by the time we managed to get seated and the servers took our orders and didn't communicate that they were out of a lot of dishes. After waiting about 25 mins, we were informed about the food situation. Thankfully, Seville has no shortage of good tapas bars and everything is open past midnight but this place was a thumbs down from me.

Yelp
We loved this place, stayed for a very long time. You are suppose to order drinks and tapas at the bar and picked it up there, but we ordered so many and had a table, so they would bring it to our tables. I think they have sit down area in the back, we haven't seen it. It gets packed pretty fast. We had a lot, started with 2 glasses of red wine with cheese and ham to shared, then decided on a bottle of red wine and a bunch of tapas. My favorite was the goat cheese and quince jelly, it was absolutely delicious, I love how simple and refreshing and sweet it was. The tuna belly was also delicious, I've never had it before but I would definitely recommend it. I also recommend the marinated salmon, which just comes with a piece of salmon on a small bread with olive oil, and dry herbs. Their Jamon de Bellota, Iberian ham, acorn-fed, was also delicious. We also got their fried items, meatballs, stew, tuna sirloin, they were okay. It gets really crowded and loud, and they literally open their gates 8PM. I think a lot of locals come by. I like the vibes. I would definitely come back, though, we had a great time, enjoyed their service and tapas and wine.

Yelp
Spinach and chickpea stew was coming out of the kitchen like no tomorrow, so naturally we ordered some and it was fantastic! It was comforting and homey, and was really nice to just sit after a long morning exploring. Our waiter was attentive and kind, and we found ourselves wanting to linger just a little longer because the place was so cozy. I would easily return here, but would highly recommend coming for a less crowded lunch than a dinner!

Yelp
The best plate of jamon serrano I have ever eaten! They have a fantastic selection of tapas along with red wines and sherries, if you'd like. Great spot to grab a quick bite and always crowded around the major times (2-4 and 10-12). There's a great ambiance here reminiscent of older Spanish bars, along with two sides separated. Y the bar where you can order. Must go!

Yelp
Recommendation from my local tour guide. Came at 12PM just as it opened, so it was pretty empty, with only 2 other tables of tourists. But a couple locals trickled in as I was leaving. Seems to be pretty authentic, very little frills. Service was polite and to the point. Food is definitely good here and BETTER PRICED than most places I've been to so far. Got 2 tapas (cured sausage & marinated salmom) and the dessert (flan). Cured sausage was above average, but mothing to rave about. The salmon was delicious though, the "marination" seems to just be olive oil drizzle but it's just bomb. The flan was also so silky, and the chocolate sauce elevated it. I haven't even had bad flan though. Wish I had more of an appetite to try other things. Maybe one day when I come back. Why -1 star? 1. It gets so drafty because of there open restaurant design, seems pretty good for summer...not great when it's raining and windy outside. I was freezing standing at the most inside table :( 2. Also, not a place to hang around. They have limited chairs, so most people stand, whether at the bar or high-top tables. Seems pretty normal as locals in pairs just stroll up to the bars and forgo the tables completely. Tables have a shelf underneath to place your stuff. 3. They didn't have a lot of the menu items ready yet, and they didn't have quail eggs. Probably bc I was there just as it opened, but disappointing nonetheless.

Yelp
This was the first place we ate at on our 9-day trip in Seville / Granada / Madrid and was one of, if not our favourite spot all trip. This place defines the beauty of a tapas bar experience. A huge menu of cheap tapas, daily specials and stews, 1€ beer and an attentive waiter who made great recommendations on the daily specials. We tried to go back a couple times throughout our 3 nights in Seville but it's always packed and there are so many bars to experience in the city. Looking back on our entire trip I wish we squeezed back in here at least one more time. If you're in Seville I would say this is a must stop to experience a true tapas bar!

Yelp
Been to Sevilla twice and this, hands down, the very best Tapas Bar. Service is extraordinary. Wide variety of tapas, drinks, etc. Prices are very reasonable. Service is fast and friendly.

Mark O.

Yelp
So far this is the fav stop on the tapas circuit of Sevilla. Enter off the side street to get to the bar area with tables. Loved the real atmosphere, non-touristy, and friendly, fast service. House red wine for €2 is not half bad and they have a very nice menu of sherries to sample. The lomo al Jerez (cold slice of pork loin with coarse salt) was so simple but so tasty, reminders of a good porchetta in Italy. Morćon de Ibérico sausage was hearty and excellent but the fav was the salchichón en vino with thin slices of patatas - so so good we had to order another round. Also nice selection of queso. Loved our snappy waiter with a sense of humor too! Can't beat the prices! Am going to have trouble paying 4 times the amount for not as good of tapas back in the US!

Casey Martin K.

Yelp
I had a good time here, the atmosphere is nice and very authentic feeling. I ate Goat Cheese with Quince paste which was delicious! Creamy cheese and sweet quince. I had Papas Bravas which had good flavor but were a bit greasy and soggy for my taste. And I had some Croquettes which were excellent! The wine and beer is very cheap!

Siobhan S.

Yelp
The worst part about this experience is that we didn't stay to eat all the tapas. We grabbed a couple of drinks here, a single tapa (an excellent one at that), decided it was a little too slow and bounced hoping to find another spot. We had immediate regrets about leaving. The atmosphere alone was really enjoyable (very old Spain, everything you'd expect on a tapas crawl), dusty old bottles on the shelves, an aged counter that has definitely been there for years and years, and even the old man behind the counter added to the vibe. I get the idea that this place is the spot for cheese and cured meats, but it looked like some of the neighboring patrons at the bar had ordered several (delicious looking) sandwiches. The single item we tasted was a semi-soft goats cheese with membrillo (quince paste) atop a slice of bread. A simple bite, but it left a lasting impression. If we'd had more time in Sevilla we would have 100% come back another night to eat more tapas there. Disappointingly we only had one day, so we will just have to dream and plan another trip in a few years ;)

Yelp
Delicious! This is a place frequented by locals with typical tapas. Came recommended by my Hostal. My favorite dish was the papas alioli which were to die for! Very tasty! Sangria was also delicious. This place gets packed so try to come early but don't get turned away by the crowds. It's worth it.

Anj A.

Yelp
This place is centrally located in Seville, which is a good thing. It's very close to the cathedral. Javier our server was very nice enough to suggest some good tapas from the menu. We had the albondigas, sardinas, pork cheek, mussels, anchovies with cheese, chicken and sangria! Everything was to die for and it was cheaper than any other tapas places we've been in. I noticed that a lot of locals come here, so for me that means it's good! Haha... they also accept cards!

Abby L.

Yelp
Fantastic tapas bar! I brought a group of students with me, had them split up into a few tables near the back and the staff was very patient and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious, I wish I ate more. Reasonably priced and we all left full and happy! I loved the dive bar/local feel of the place. People coming in and out to grab a bite to eat or a beer, no one was in a rush and I felt like a true sevillano, taking in the scenery, enjoying my company, and the food!!

Brad P.

Yelp
Very nice tapas in this authentic place. Large menu , but check the board for what is available. Pollo con setas was delicious.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
This place is great for grabbing cups of orange wine, loading up on plates of tapas (so cheap!) and people watching.

Brian B.

Yelp
This Bodego is bodacious! Tapparently, this Tapas bar was established in the 1480s during the Inquisition! Or was that the market in Tirana? I am not sure. Anyway, this place is pretty old and there are plenty of old Spanish men here having lunch so you know its authentic. A great place to come after the bullfight or flamenco concert. What a find!

M G.

Yelp
Busy even off season. It is tapas and the menu is limited. So my rating is based on overall food and atmosphere which is friendly and the waiters have a nice sense of humor. Jamon iberico and cheese are staples. I highly recommend for a 'chill' experience that seems less touristy even though its smack in the middle of the tourist area.

Elisa B.

Yelp
Not sure the price as my guide paid for this on a tapas tour I arranged with my travel agent. I highly recommend this bodega, it's where she goes and it felt very authentic. Menu only in Spanish. One side for people drinking and the other for food and drink. The pictures say it all! On a little side street and tucked back a bit but use gps and go!

LAurent S.

Yelp
Hi guys, We came for dinner on Friday and paid by credit card. The waiter tried once but the card machine wouldn't work and canceled my card, so he tried again with the same card and it worked fine. However, I just checked my bank account and noticed I have been charged twice with the same amount. So the first transaction did actually work... Can you please check your account and cancel one of the two transactions ? We would greatly appreciate it :) I can send a picture as proof if necessary... Muchas Gracias :)

Pnr A.

Yelp
This is the best tapas place to try in Sevilla. They have their own house wine and almost everyone who works there have been so for 25 years. Their house wine is insanely delicious and their chick pea spinach is OUT OF THIS WORLD (tried it at another Seville restaurant and it wasn't as good). Had their tripe tapas as well and it was very tender. A must try, IMO best in Seville. The only problem was that it doesn't open until 8pm for dinner. So get there right away bc it gets PACKED quickly.

Jon S.

Yelp
The thing about going for tapas is that IT'S NOT EASY. You want to hop around and try several places, but you also don't want to leave the good places you find. And when you only have one night, especially in a city like Sevilla, it's EVEN LESS EASY. For this very reason we were quite conflicted in Casa Morales. It was tapas spot number two for the night. We stepped in and instantly fell in love. The old dusty bottles decorating the walls. Working sherry vats in the back. A big crowd and only one server running back and forth behind the bar and then to customers sitting outside. The place was full of charm. It was exactly what I imagined a typical tapas bar to be. We wanted to stay. We so badly wanted to stay. But we only stayed for two drinks and one single tapa, a simple bite of Bread topped with Goat Cheese & Membrillo. Oh my, what a bite. Absolutely delicious. The cheese was lightly though not all the way melted and the membrillo was just sweet enough. So why were we stupid enough to leave? It took AWHILE to place our order and get our food. The lone server, BLESS HIS SOUL, was overmatched and, well, we just decided to head out for tapas spot number three. We should've stayed.

David B.

Yelp
Great place! Authentic Spanish Bodega with tons of locals. Tapas are 2 Euros each and very tasty. Half raciones are ~6 each. There are two rooms each with separate entrances. The ~9 wine/sherry amphora are very cool and line the back walls of the second room, accessible from the side street entrance. Each room has small tables and standing room to eat/drink at the bar.

Kate O.

Yelp
VERY authentic, local place. During non-peak hours it is just a front room with standing space. A little intimidating for tired tourists. Quality food though, which is obviously the most important part! Friendly and accommodating staff.

Jeannette V.

Yelp
Great place to grab a quick bite. We stopped in for lunch because everyone in here was Spanish. Amazing garlic potatos and spinach/garbanzo bean thingy. Yum!

T M.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! We went back 3 times in the four days we stayed in Sevilla. Great selection of tapas at very low prices, cool old world ambiance, selection of affordable wines, cool building--- simply have to try it-- sit, eat, people watch and enjoy!

Duncan A.

Yelp
Recommended in Jeremy Head's Seville app. Really atmospheric, with working sherry vats in the back room. Sadly we missed tapas time (2-4pm, 8-late), and had to settle for just a fino... Full of locals! :)

Antoni L.

Yelp
Simply the best traditional bar in Sevilla. Great food, great service, great atmosphere.
