The Best Montreal Cocktail Bars | Eater Montreal

"Named after the small bites served in traditional Venetian bars, terracotta-hued Cicchetti is an expert at the deviled eggs, charcuterie platters, polenta fries, and crustless sandwiches that’ll efficiently pad an evening of drinking. Spritzes, bellinis, and other Italian aperitivo cocktails are the standard play here — and in the summer, available from a sunny terrasse." - Daniel Bromberg

Montreal’s 25 Best Terrasses | Eater Montreal

"Venetian vibes get transplanted into Mile-Ex’s concrete surrounds at Cicchetti, and the result is a terracotta-hued al fresco dream. Order a Bellini or spritz, a handful of perfect-for-aperitivo-pairing snacks, and soak in the sun — Italian style." - Valerie Silva

Cicchetti, Venice’s answer to tapas, are little bites packed with big flavor, perfect for lingering over a spritz in the summer sun. Here, it’s a vibrant parade: shrimp mousse and smoked salmon with dill, ricotta with roasted grapes and thyme, watermelon with feta, cucumber, and mint, a Caesar-style endive with speck and croutons, and green pea crostini with pistachio, mint, lime, and pickled onions. One sip, one bite, and suddenly you’re on a Venetian terrace… minus the gondolas.

Hard to call to get reservations but didn’t need to worry in the end! A few improvements could have had better service if we indeed could try the wine before entire glass was poured. Could’ve been a busy night though. Wish we knew beforehand the assortiment plate wasn’t every cichetti type but whatever they chose. An oversight on our end perhaps when we placed order.

I’ve been here a few times in the last 3-4 months. It’s nice to have this type of options around this part of Montreal. I love the terrace, it is unpretentious and it has a nice vibe but keep in mind that it can get really crowded and tables are too squeezed together. The area inside is quite nice and quieter. Unfortunately, last time I sat inside there were too many mosquitos or fruit flies. Drinks are overall good, there are very limited options to get wine by the glass though. Food is OK-ish. I haven’t tried all of them but so far the only ones I’d consider reordering are the polenta fries and the arancini. I hated the meatballs. Service is good overall. I’ve never been rushed to leave even when it’s crowded. Parking in the area is really difficult to find.

A beautiful, europeen style, hidden corner bar with a gorgeous terrasse serving delicious, creative cocktails, wines, ciders, beers and mocktails too. Reasonably priced and dog friendly with great amicable service you may have trouble finding it but that just adds to the charm. Turning the corner from the very industrial looking St-Zotique to Park you are met with a lovely oasis of flowers and plants. We salute their initiative to host Sunday pop-ups of local merchants all throughout this past August (which we attended and loved) and hope they repeat the experience next year.

Came in town for a quick weekend trip and ended up coming here three times. Amazing sharing plates, great wines and beautiful aesthetic. Can’t go wrong with anything on this menu

After a large and what was beginning to feel like an aimless walk towards the unknown we stumbled across Bar Cicchetti. Welcomed in we sat down and immediately gazed at all the options for not just food but wine, cocktails and beers. We started off slow, trying a few bits from the menu, the jamon, cornichon on baguette, the devilled eggs and the ricotta grapes on toast. It was all excellent. One of the highlights was the Polenta chips, perfectly crispy, and superbly fluffy on the inside. Covered in aioli they were not greasy at all and lent themselves to being ordered again, which we did. My highlight of the show is the flagship snack, which adorns the merchandise they sell almost like a logo. The tiny ham sandwich, pierced together with an olive. The perfect little bite to go with a cold crisp beer or even a cocktail on a hot day. With the crusts cut off, it feels like something your parents may have made you on a school trip, but this seems to fit right in here. The staff were chatty, friendly and gave us amazing recommendations for our stay in Montreal. Wish we could’ve gone back to enjoy the evening.

Loved this place! The food was delicious and extremely reasonably priced! We sat on the terrace which was super relaxing. However, I find that the seating on the terrace is a bit too cramped together (hard when people get up and knock things over on your table). Definitely will be back though!

Google
Nice relaxing patio/bar not far off St. Laurent. The spritz is refreshing. We got the chicchetti plate which comes with two of everything. It was fresh and tastes great. Well worth the $27. The view isn't quite the Grand Canal but it's a wonderful place to spend a few evening hours.

Yelp
Meh, that's all I have to say. The food is good but not worth the price. Slow service. The ambiance is really nice though. Cute, modern, hipster type.

Yelp
I'm intrigued! And I'm first to review, so I will forever have a fondness for Bar Cicchetti, which is so Italian, I felt like I was back at one of the many awesome sidewalk bar/cafes (that turn into nightclubs) in Florence. My guy and here came here for a nightcap upon the recommendation of a friend (Risa D, Montreal CM herself!) and it felt like we stumbled into a secret little lair off the beaten path (literally-- you have to walk up a strange curb to get in. Not very heels-friendly, so be careful!) I like places like this because you have to work to find it... or rather Siri has to work so that you can find it! There's not much within a few blocks so you feel like you may be guided steered incorrectly. I wish I could report to the food, but that'll have to wait for their second review. As I mentioned, after dinner hours on the weekends means the arrival of a DJ and the tunes are loud. I'll admit it was a little at odds with the intimate vibe, but again, I thought of those places I've been to in the cities of Northern Italy and it felt right after all. We were greeted by the friendliest waitress and attended to immediately. I observed a chill crowd, all sexes and sexual persuasion represented, so awesome that they are welcoming to ALL! You will feel comfortable coming here alone, or as a couple. Casual, chill, all the good things. No pick-ups. No scenes. We had one drink and split, but I have every intention of returning when back in this neighborhood. Ciao!

Yelp
I like this place. It's not mind blowing, but it's also very reliable and enjoyable. Good drinks and the food is quite cheap and better than I would have thought. I've come here about 4 times and I enjoy their Peach Bellini, Deviled Eggs (yum!) and warm spinach dip especially. Cheers!

Yelp
The perfect alternative between a restaurant and a bar. The food really is delicious and high quality. The vibe is fun and relaxed. Love it.

Yelp
Cute bar and delicious cocktails. Love the atmosphere and even during busy times their service is pretty good. This place is perfect to meet up with friends or your date or to have afterwork drinks with colleagues.

Yelp
Very cool hidden little bar .. once you walk in you feel like you're in New York! Such great vibes and amazing service. Love the decor and it's very clean and upscale but yet very chill They have a nice selection of wines , and a small food menu ..cool place.

Yelp
Cicchetti is a great bar in the mile ex area. The decor has a mid century modern vibe and the layout works for big and small groups. I especially love the large calm terrace in the summer. It's so calm and quiet, it's sometimes hard to believe the bar is right next to Parc ave. The drink menu has some really nice cocktails, and some interesting "spritzes". Though there is food on the menu, it consists mostly of small "cicchetti" (the Venetian equivalent to tapas). Try the polenta fries. They are so tasty you may have to order a second plate.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem, tucked away in a pretty industrial stretch of Parc Avenue. The vibe reminds me of the casual aperitivos we'd have in northern Italy, especially with their colorful terrace. For a hot, humid day, the Spritz is a must-have, as are the very affordable and delicious side dishes to share. I highly recommend getting the Cicchetti platter in order to sample everything. Service was also very attentive and swift :)
