Bar Cicheti - Review - Keong Saik - Singapore - The Infatuation

"Starting a sentence with “The best _____ in Singapore is at…” will probably start a fight but here goes: The best pasta in Singapore is at Bar Cicheti. The original Cicheti is a fine spot but this Keong Saik restaurant is the cooler younger brother that went to art school and is now dating an heiress. There’s dark wood, art on the walls, and a light-bulb arch, and the restaurant makes all their pasta by hand, something that isn’t easily found in Singapore. Order half portions to try more, except for the cacio e pepe. That one deserves a full serving and a round of applause to go with it." - Anthony Eu

Artists Ripple Root share an art-filled itinerary to Singapore - SilverKris

"A casual pasta-focused eatery on Jiak Chuan Road with a rotating menu of handmade pastas presented like works of art; notable dishes mentioned include tagliatelle with crustacean broth, kombu butter, prawns and fried kale, and agnolotti filled with ten-hour-braised grass-fed beef cheek, and the interior features a large pasta-themed painting on the wall." - Rachel Eva Lim

Celebrate World Pasta Day (25 October) by trying one of these unusual pastas - SilverKris

"A popular, ever-changing pasta joint along Jiak Chuan Road that showcases lesser-seen shapes and regional specialties; the Gnochetti Sardi — saffron pasta paired with pork and fennel sausage, chilli and broccolini — is hearty and aromatic, reflecting the restaurant’s willingness to rotate creative, soulful dishes." - Rachel Eva Lim

Quite a nice place with natural lighting inside. Place to drink, many dressed up to this place but I'm not sure why. Good and service is good! The smoked cacio is really nice. Looks simple but flavourful, really has a smoked taste. The pistachio pasta was not bad but just not as amazing. Burrata was normal but the bread that comes with it was very fragrant. Before this they served us bread with olive oil as well. All warm. Fried calamari is not oily and the sauce is special. Pistachio tart is ok. Overall I like tt their pasta r handmade. Little pricey but worth it for the atmosphere. Made reservations. Need to pay $40/pax beforehand so beware. Puts a stress not to be late also. Not sure if the table or deposit will still be there if u r late.

A comfortable place with excellent service. We usually come here for the Cacio E Pepe which is nicely smoked. The Agnolotti with beef stew fillings is also very good. Appetisers like the deep fried sardines are also worth a mention. The anchovies on toast bursts with flavours. The beef tartare and carpaccio are also worth the visit.the Tiramisu here is also one of the better ones in town. Highly recommended.

My Singaporean friend took me out to this lovely quiant Italian Bar and Restaurant in Chinatown that serves this lovely 3-course meal. When we arrived, we got the option of a glass of Prosecco or a NON, a zero alcohol option. We then had to pick one of 3 starters. Two were salads, Burratina or Carpaccio, or a Frutti di Mari, a seafood soup. For main, although there were 3 options to choose from, but only two were available, one is a cheesy pasta, smoked Rigatoni Cacio e Pepe, flavor is amazing but it gets a little too cloy for me to finish the plate. You can also go for a red sauce meat based pasta, the Malfadine. The desserts were really good, the option of a tiramisu which is right on point or the Torta di Mandorie, which is an almond tart with vanilla chantily and strawberry This set meal is exclusive on theHungryHub.com and is priced at only $76/pax

Food was average, none of the pasta dishes were impressive. We ordered 1 Bucatini Geno Mafaldine Ragu, Smoked Cacio. Bucatini was really soft but the other two were ok texture wise. Service was really nonexistent by our female server, she didn’t even bother to tell us about the daily specials and I only found out they exist midway through our meal when another server explained to the table next to us. Many better options around the area tbh.

Vibey bodega-esque pasta and wine bar. Well-executed pasta dishes and small plates. Small Plates > Pasta imo. But all good to share! Tasty burratina + calamari with Smokey tomato aioli. Desserts are noteworthy, but not yet unforgettable. Decent selection of Italian wine- best by the bottle. Other reds, whites and spumanté as well. Reservations are a must! Dining time may be limited to 90mins for weekend dinners. It’s always a challenge to find parking around Keong Saik/ Jiak Chuan.

Great food, attentive service and cool atmosphere...this restaurant is a winner. The concept is a bar with pasta, not a full italian restaurant. There was about 8 starters, 6 pastas and 4 desserts with a couple daily specials. Loved all the pastas we tried, all fresh made pasta. There is also a good wine list. Vibe was cool with nice music and cool decor. Service was great, very attentive and quick. Would definitely go back again!

Overhyped in my opinion. Small portioned food compared with the hefty price tag. Best pasta for the night was the Nero crab pasta and the tiramisu was nicely prepped with Amaretto.

First time trying out this place for a Saturday lunch. Service was attentive and friendly as the staff took time to explain the dishes as well as their seasonal specials. Generally good pastas coupled with an intimate space. Our favourites were the Cacio e Pepe - one of the better ones we have tasted. It had wonderful browning and an interesting “wok hei” taste. The vongole was also pretty decent with nicely sized clams. However, we just found the pasta itself to be a little too soft for our liking. The meatball appetiser was also pretty good but, nonetheless, a little pricey. Desserts, however, were really expensive. The Crostata cost $20, which was hard to justify considering its size, but don't get me wrong, it was really good, the tiramisu ($18) however was a bit of a let down. Overall portions leaned on the small side, but being small eaters, my group found it sufficient. Free flow filter water is also charged at $3++ / head. Overall, i would recommend giving them a try and forming your own judgements. - but just note that it is on the higher priced side.
