The 16 Best Restaurants In Newport, Rhode Island - Newport - The Infatuation

"Bar ‘Cino is where you want to eat grilled pizza in Newport. The Rhode Island specialty has noticeable and smoky grill marks here, just the right thinness (which almost resembles a nicely-pounded chicken cutlet), and very sturdy scissors for cutting. They have a bunch of options, but the margherita is hard to beat with its fresh pops of acid-forward tomato sauce and liberal sprinkling of ripped basil. The pastas aren’t bad either—we recently had a creamy pesto corn gnocchi that will linger in our minds long after corn goes out of season. Come here for a breezy lunch at the counter before you walk around the waterfront." - danielle rose, carlo mantuano

Bar ’Cino Review - Brookline - Boston - The Infatuation

"Grilled Rhode Island-style pizza, made famous by one particular restaurant in the ’80s, is a unique feature on the menu at Bar ’Cino. It’s not the Rhode Island pizza we’re used to (which is cold and has no cheese - basically the anti-pizza), but it’s actually very good. If you’re in the mood for pizza, but want something on the lighter side, there’s probably no better pie. There are also some quality cocktails here, like the chocolate margarita or one with lemonade and Laphroaig. Unlike Pauly D, this spot has greatly improved our impression of our southern neighbors." - Joel Ang

Great little restaurant in town with intimate seating and lighting. The staff is friendly and efficient. Drinks are good and food is delicious. The rigatoni bolognese has a meaty sauce and the whole roasted branzino is flavorful but be cautious with all the bones. The seared salmon was tender with a citrus fennel herb salad. We absolutely loved their grilled pizza with prosciutto, fig, arugula, fontina, and gorgonzola. Now for my standard comments. Easy to walk to in town. There is a good amount of seating but it is a bit packed. Still quite comfortable to dine in.

If you are visiting Newport, definitely go here. It is one of the best restaurants in town. We ended up going twice because we loved it so much the first time. The line and constantly packed tables are a testament to how good everything is. The cocktails are phenomenal and any entree is delicious. Not to mention the desserts too. The lemon sorbet was so flavorful. There are so many good things to try. The carrots were my favorite too.

Food was 4 stars. Service was not friendly and very slow. The pizza was good, really liked the sauce. Past with shrimp was pretty good.

Google
Service, food, atmosphere, all so great! The Best pizza and I dont even like pizza. Thin, perfectly crispy crust, full of flavors...yum! The special pasta was great also, mushroom sauce with Bok Choy and spicy sausage. Wow! Sitting outside with just enough wind made it more memorable. Even though we had to wait about 30 mins it was so worth the wait!

Tried the grilled pizza at Bar 'Cino for thr first time. Went with the sausage pizza. Thought it was pretty good. Definitely a unique style of pizza. Had a good crunch and good overall taste. Washed it down with a draft beer. They have a really nice bar set-up. Good service. Nice atmosphere.

I started my meal with the prosciutto fig bruschetta, which was absolutely sensational – the combination of sweet figs and salty prosciutto was perfectly balanced and set the tone for the rest of the meal. The pizza I ordered was a prosciutto fig pizza with a super thin, grilled crust that was cut with scissors, giving it a unique texture and a delightful crunch. The flavors of the pizza surprised me with how well they blended, each bite better than the last. I then moved on to a spaghetti carbonara that was truly outstanding – creamy, rich, and with just the right amount of peppery bite to bring it all together. It was one of the best versions of carbonara I’ve had in a while. For dessert, I had an affogato that was good but not particularly memorable, and a lemon tart that, while okay, didn’t quite match the exceptional level of everything else we’d had up to that point. All in all, I was genuinely surprised by the overall quality of the food at Barcino – I didn’t expect such a high standard in this spot. From the impressive bruschetta to the excellent pizza and pasta, this meal was a wonderful discovery.

Visited on a Sunday in June. Loved the open kitchen and casual atmosphere. Service was lovely and the food was chef’s kiss. My bolognese was amazing!

Google
Delicious food, excellent service, lovely environment, in a smaller setting restaurant in downtown Newport. Great view of the kitchen so you can see your food being prepared. Great bar, cocktail & wine selection. Had the Sangiovese Rose, bruschetta prosciutto fig goat cheese, grilled broccolini with basil pesto, and the roasted heirloom carrots with orange scented ricotta, Calabrian chile and crushed pistachio. Warm atmosphere, great waitresses staff, definitely recommend the food.

Yelp
Brava, Brava !!!! Absolutely adored it here, sat at the bar with a bird's eye view of the dining room & bar all the way down. I don't even need to be specific, one of our favorite dining experiences of the summer while driving from Narraganset to Newport to Portsmouth NH, York Beach Maine to Portland. Make a reservation during season (I guess) we lucked out. And soon after headed to the Bar 'Cino outside of Boston in Brookline and we were sadly disappointed. The same dishes were noticeably different in preparation & presentation. I'll head back to Newport soon to revisit this stellar restaurant.

Yelp
Love this hip restaurant off of Washington square. Reservations are 2 weeks in advance, but walk ins accommodated where seating is available. Seating is closely spaced, but manageable. We started off with well made cocktails! I loved my Raelyn, who also happened to be our server! Then, after ordering, the most delicious focaccia is brought to the table!!! Yum. We ordered a margarita type pizza, the veggie grilled sandwich, and baked lumache pasta. Probably, the favorite was the pasta. We weren't really a fan of the pizza as the crust isn't really a crust... it's a piece of flatbread, obviously premade, and a bit heavy. Unfortunately, that same bread is used for the grilled sandwich, which was definitely more bread than filling. We haven't been here for a few years, but the other visits we were wowed by the food. Usually, we had ordered salads and entrees which I remember as delicious. Not sure if the pizza/grilled sandwich base is new, but we definitely would make different choices next time.

Yelp
From being accessible for my wheelchair guest to finishing with a bold expresso. A++ We had baked clams, warm olives and salad.

Yelp
Overall, it's an awesome spot and the food was delicious. The service was quick and the ambiance was cozy and comforting. We started with the bruschetta and it was delicious but we had only 1 each and wanted at least one more. For main, my fiancée did the special of the day which was ricotta pasta with some red meat and he loved it and I did the lobster risotto. We were very happy. Mine was rich and creamy and his was flavorful. The only reason I'm giving 4/5 is because the portions felt small. I was still a little hungry after our meal and I guess order TWO appetizers if hungry. Otherwise, the price was right and everything else was great!

Yelp
A MUST GO when in Newport!! After seeing the reviews and multiple TikTok recommendations, I knew I had to book for my birthday dinner. There is nothing better than a restaurant that lives up to its hype. The lively environment and quality service from the beginning told me that this was going to be a great meal. Food, drinks, dessert are all so delicious and very well done. Our favorites were the Rigatoni Bolognese (honestly the best I have ever had), Grilled Pizzas (such a unique menu item), Tiramisu and the Raelyn (Cherry Old Fashioned). Will 100% return when we come back to RI.

Yelp
Excellent service, phenomenal food, and an overall great place to dine. We tried the pizza, carbonara, and chicken Milanese which were all incredible. Complements to the chef and staff. Would 100% dine here again and recommend to anyone visiting Newport.

Yelp
Stopped here for my birthday lunch and so happy we did! Saw pictures of their pizza online and knew I had to try. Started with a salad that had cannolini beans and a light citrusy dressing. It was a nice start to a meal. When a place offers homemade chips I always need to try and these were amazing. Lastly we split the margarita pizza and it was so light and crunchy. Wish we got one to go haha. Service was very slow, but since the food was so good I was ok with that. Will definitely go back next time we are in Newport.

Yelp
We were walking in Newport looking for dinner. This is the number one place in the city which made picking it easy. It was very busy - we were able to get seats outside after being greeted, and settled in. The menu is very good and the wine selection is just as good. We started with a bottle of Jordan Vineyard's Chardonnay, and ordered their warm olive appetizer. The warm olive appetizer was very nice, with a variety of olives, all of which were tasty. My wife ordered their Cavatelli, while I had their roasted salmon. The food was prepared and presented very nicely, and was quite good. The outside ambiance was sitting at a table with an umbrella and you get to see the people walking by, so you take in the local sights to a great extent. It was very nice outside, so that was fine. Good food, good service, good restaurant.

Yelp
5 stars for: + Olive oil: Each table had a tin of olive oil and it was truly delicious! Definitely don't forget to try it out with the complimentary focaccia. + Baked Clams Pomodoro ($15): Great flavor (slight heat) and plump clams but sad to see only 6 clams in our dish. + Service was friendly and attentive. 4 stars for: - Cacio e Pepe Spaghetti ($21): This literally tasted like buttered pasta with fancy parmesan and was admittedly oddly addicting... but it was pretty one note after a few more bites. The clams in it were excellent. - Special of the day Cavatelli ($28): Cooked with shredded chicken marsala and mushrooms, this was just fine but I wouldn't reorder. - Tiramisu ($10): Moist but a little bland.

Yelp
Bar 'Cino is where I had dinner while visiting Newport. Inside it has a long bar to sit at or tables of course while offering some outside seating in front too. I was wanting some pizza so I ordered one. Here they only offer Rhode Island grilled pizza which I was unfamiliar with. The one I ordered was a fresh mushroom version ($21) and it arrived less than 5 minutes later. The pizza is thin crust and served in a square with a pair of scissors provided because they don't cut it. The pizza did have a lot of dark mushrooms on top with an oily looking surface. Also these are non cheese pizzas. So I starting using my scissors to cut it in eatable pieces. It was too different tasting for me. I like thin crust but with no cheese and the oily sheen on the crust I only ate about half of it. So I will give the pizza a 2. I believe Bar 'Cino to be a better restaurant than my experience. I would be happy to return to try a pasta dish so I will give a 3 score. Beware if you have never tried a Rhode Island grilled pizza. It isn't for everyone!

Yelp
Bar'Cino is a fabulous place in Newport to stop for a meal or just a light lunch. It's cozy and the waitstaff is always pleasant even when it is super busy as in the summer and the holiday season. Any salad we have ordered has been fresh and delicious as well as a decent size. And the sandwiches are also fresh and generously filled using delicious, fresh ingredients.

Yelp
There is a reason this place is has great reviews, it's a great little place! My wife went for an early dinner after a movie. We ordered a bruschetta and salad. Both were well-conceived, delicious and fresh. We also split the tagliatelle paste with fresh local mushrooms and kale pesto. Wow! The place is cute and contemporary inside. We sat outside, which was quite comfortable and a great place to people watch. The menu offers a variety of dishes from pizza and pasta to entrees. They offer a great vegetarian selection and have an emphasis on local food. This place is owned by Newport Restaurant Group, which I find to have consistency providing delicious food, a well designed selection and friendly service.

Yelp
A good solid place. First time there. Nice low key interior which makes you feel comfortable. My daughter and I reserved counter seats and we were sat promptly on arrival despite how busy it was. I love counter seating as it lets you see all of the food ordered and how the kitchen is operating. Our server was pleasant and explained things well. We ordered cocktails to start. My Manhattan was made well. Bar seems well stocked and they have in-house cocktails but all were a bit too sweet for me. The one my daughter tried was solid. We started with their Caesar salad which was excellent and the sauteed broccolini which was also tasty. I had the pan seared salmon which is started in a pan and finished in the oven. It was served with a nice vegetable medley and sat on a pea puree. The flavor was great but a little more done than the medium rare I asked for. My daughter had a pasta special and she said it was very good. Price was reasonable for what we got. I would definitely give it a try.

Yelp
I am so glad we stopped here for lunch after our gilded age mansion tour!! Yelp helped me find this place and I am so grateful! The amount of stars this place gets is highly deserving. The interior is gorgeous. It has huge bright windows and the sun was shining in on what was a cool day outside. I love the black and white color scheme and overall ambiance. Our waitress was very nice and helped us with our food choices. She told us we couldn't go wrong with anything and she was so right. The food was so much better than expected! Like, blown away better! I was skeptical of the pizza and how thin the crust looked. But OMG - when I first bit into it, I thought it was possibly the most flavorful and wonderfully textured crust I've ever had!! It was tender yet crispy at the same time. The toppings are also so fresh. The kale salad is also one of the best I've ever had. I love how everything was chopped small and the same size. They put the right amount of ingredients in the salad and they were all so complimentary to one another. Sometimes places go too far with the number of ingredients in a salad but this was perfection. I tried to recreate this salad when I got home because I was craving it. It was that good! You should definitely consider this place over the much more crowded touristy spots.

Yelp
Good meal here and will totally come back again. We started by sharing the antipasti and it was good. The hummus was my favorite part, as well as the warm olives. The meats were OK, just wish there was more on the board as it was mostly non-meat and non-cheese items. We received only about 4 slices of chorizo and 4 slices of prosciutto along with 3 small pieces of cheese, which did not feel like a lot for the $19. The free house foccacia was incredible and will ask to pay for an extra large portion as an appetizer next time. My girlfriend ordered a rigatoni bolognese which looked really great. The sauce was light and did not look too rich or heavy. She enjoyed it and said it was good. My girlfriend's sangria tasted amazing and wish I ordered it also. I got a carbonara which was good. I'm not sure it is a "classic" carbonara as it the dish I ate was much more white in color compared to other carbonaras i've eaten elsewhere. It did not have the golden, silky creamy sauce that you get from carefully mixing egg yolks with parmesan cheese, tempered with some pasta water. The guanciale was pretty much all fat and not too edible, but it added some nice flavor. At bar cino, they use pecorino and black pepper for their carbonara which to me is less of a carbonara and more of a cacio e pepe. Overall I really enjoyed the dish, and tasted good, just picky about calling it a carbonara :D. Service was good. We got checked in on a lot, but no complaints there. The place was buzzing for a Wednesday night offseason, and seemingly filled with locals, so you know the food is great. It was a rainy dreary night outside, and the warm ambiance made it feel cozy.

Yelp
Stopped in for a couple of drinks and we split the margarita pizza. The pizzas are not cut and are served with a scissor to do your own cutting. I'm not a fan of that, I'd prefer it served cut. Rhode Island residents will recognize the grilled pizza as the same one served for years at Al Forno in Providence. It was large, very thin crust and shareable. Good wine and beer selection. The restaurant itself is very narrow with tables on the left and a long bar to the right. It was very noisy, not a romantic quiet place. Tables are extremely close together. Service was fine. Definitely a place even in the winter where you need a reservation.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Newport! The chicken Milanese comes with a delicious arugula salad. The chicken is crispy with an amazing tangy lemon sauce. I've tried several grilled pizzas there but the Margherita and Mushroom is my favorite, both have great flavor. They give you scissors to cut the pizzas with. The bolognese is always a good go to for pasta. I also have put in to-go orders where the food is not the best when cold and their plastic silver ware is very flimsy. I would highly suggest to eat in when trying Barcino. For the amount you pay especially for take out, I would also suggest better silverware. Not the biggest make or break but I work locally and had a hard time cutting into my food with the take out silverware given and had no other options. Overall the food is always consistent and amazing. The restaurant itself is very small and parking is difficult however this is the case everywhere in downtown Newport. It is always busy there so be sure to go early to put your name in. Sometimes the staff seems to get overwhelmed with how busy it can get but they always have great service.

Megan H.

Yelp
We ordered the braised beef, tagliatelle, and prosciutto pizza (not pictured). The prosciutto pizza was my personal favorite out of what we ordered, though the braised beef was very good as well. The tagliatelle was good, though it could have used some more sauce.

Yelp
You can't go wrong at Bar 'Cino since they are doing everything so right! We have been many times and always can't wait to return. The food is fresh, delicious and wonderfully prepared. If you had ever been to Bob & Timmy's grilled pizza in Providence then this place will bring back that nostalgia of a top level grilled pizza. They are doing it right with a crispy grilled crust that is bursting with flavor. The pasta is amazing and I have yet to try an item on their menu that rates below an eight. The prices are very reasonable, especially due to their location in Newport. The atmosphere is vibrant and busy but also charming and fun. We have yet to meet a server that isn't extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I wish there was a Bar 'Cino restaurant closer to CT. I can't wait for my next food adventure at this fantastic restaurant.

Yelp
My friend and I ate here during a visit to Newport last year and boy am I still dreaming about their crispy grilled mushroom pizza! IT'S MY FAVORITE PIZZA TO DATE. SO GOOD! It was so crispy and light and the flavors were so delicate and well balanced. The moment I tried it, I regretted not ordering one whole pizza for myself. Writing this makes me so sad I don't live in Newport. Pizza-aside, this seems to be a place where locals love to dine. The service was great as well. I can't wait to be back!

Yelp
I came to Bar' Cino for dinner while i was traveling for my birthday. It was a cute little restaurant with a large bar. It felt super hip but comfortable at the same time. I sat at the bar since i was traveling solo and waited on by multiple friendly bartenders. I ordered their homemade chips to start and honestly I would give anything to have the ranch it came with again. More of that, please. And they give you a lot of it too. It could be $30 and I'd still buy it. I ordered a drink which i absolutely hated , not because it was made poorly but it just was not something I enjoyed. The bartender could tell and asked. I was honest and said i didn't like it and she immediately made me something I enjoyed which i really appreciated. I would have just left it had she not asked since I felt like it was my bad ordering, not her bad bartending. I came in to try their pizza at a recommendation of a friend and it did not disappoint. The pizza is large and while i still don't know why we need to use scissors to use the pizza, it was flavorful, with cheese , meat and greens. The downside is i didn't have a microwave and it was not tasty cold, but that's not really their issue more mine. I loved it here and would highly recommend this place to anyone in town.

Yelp
Ten out of ten! This is a must and a hidden gem. Ever since i tried this place i was so hooked i went to newport ri all the way from massachusetts 5 times in two weeks. My top fav is their tomato bruschetta: the tomatoes are perfectly pickled w a hint of sweetness with a base of airy moz cheese. Their tomato clam as well as the bolognese pasta is really hearty and soul warming and their pastas taste so fresh! Their pizzas are my favorite! Their dough is light and crispy BUT so chewy similar to an indian nahn! And if you have kids dont miss an opportunity to try their cheese pizza. It is so simple yet delectable!!! We tried the watertown massachusetts location as well but newport really rocks!

Yelp
I really wanted to visit this place and was able to snag a reservation for lunch. Definitely get a reservation if you plan to come here, the place was absolutely packed. My husband got the Caesar salad with the Milanese chicken and I got the orecchiette pasta with gluten free pasta. It was such a hearty and satisfying meal. The place is bustling with people but the service was still exceptional. Now to the best part, the dessert. They have a gluten free limoncello mascarpone cake that is airy and delicious. The ambience is industrial and chic casual. Absolutely loved it!! Will definitely recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
Very cool experience overall! The hostess was great and set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. We chose to sit at the counter because, why not? Got to watch the chefs run the kitchen and cook our meals. You can tell a lot when you're up close. Cary was our server and she was delightful. We ordered the grilled endive (very interesting with pickled radish, barely blanched asparagus, the grilled endive), the braised beef short rib and branzino. We ordered it all gluten and dairy free and everything was double checked to make sure there wasn't any cross-contamination. They knew their stuff because I originally ordered the rigatoni bolognese senza formaggio but they informed us that the sauce has cream in it so I switched to the short rib. The branzino was covered in a chopped olive salsa and cooked very well with a crispy skin and tender meat. The arugula salad came with shaved Grano Padano on it so I couldn't try it but I know my husband enjoyed it. The colors of his dish were perfection. As was my braised beef. The marsala had such a profound flavor. I had it over roasted potatoes instead of mashed potato (bc they put cream in the mashed) and it was heavenly. The potatoes remind me of Greek lemon potatoes (without the lemon flavor), cooked evenly all the way through so no part was crispy or mushy. Perfect. The vibe is high energy, loud and fun. The restaurant is small so it feels intimate even though it's boisterous. My only one star feedback was the bathroom. I won't describe it here but I had to clean the bottoms of my shoes when we left. Five stars for everything else! Definitely recommend you dine here - it may have even been our favorite meal in Newport!

Yelp
I went here to get some top notch Italian, but they were full and asked if I wanted to sit at the bar in their sister Mexican restaurant that's attached while I wait. I said sure and after seeing some of the food that was coming out, decided to go ahead and order a burrito. Well, that was honestly one of, if the not the best burrito I've ever had. I was blown away. Paired well with the blood orange margarita too!

Yelp
I popped in for lunch with a colleague after a business meeting and enjoyed a delicious kale salad. A bright space with friendly staff. And, always ask for a side of foccacia- so yummy, I ate it before I could take a picture of it!!!

Yelp
Food was amazing little mini orgasms in every bite. I had the special grilled shrimp mixed veggies, I added mushrooms all over white bean purée with a blueberry glaze. I also had the Kale Caesar, sun-dried tomato, pine nuts, with Parmesan salad. The place was clean, ambience was nice and the service was great.

Yelp
Wow, this place is a winner. Delicious food, well-trained staff, and a cute room, all in a walkable location. It's even reasonably priced for Newport. We loved the farro salad with crisp, plump shrimp. It was perfectly dressed: just enough. The grilled pizza with prosciutto and fig was amazing. The thin crust combines crisp and chewy perfectly. We were concerned that the Gorgonzola would overpower the other flavors, but the cheese blend was ideal. The table next to us had a lot of questions (like about "chicories" on the menu) and the waitress knew all the ingredients in every dish, the amount of garlic in the pesto, etc. and even brought out a patient chef to talk to them. This ought to be the case at every restaurant, but of course it isn't, so credit to the high quality service here.

Yelp
Our visit to Bar'Cino was enjoyable. We chose this restaurant based on its positive reviews and feedback. Finding street parking on a Saturday was surprisingly easy. Upon entering, we were promptly seated. The staff were warm and hospitable. The menu offered a wide selection. We both decided on grilled sandwiches since we had dinner reservations later and didn't want to feel too full. I had the oven-roasted chicken sandwich, and my boyfriend chose the chicken milanese sandwich. The sides offered were chips or salad, and we both went with the salad. The food was tasty. Personally, the standout was the bread--it was a delightful cross between a wrap and a sandwich. I could have happily just eaten the bread alone. However, the salad fell short for me; it was merely a mix of spring greens with dressing, lacking complexity. This is an area where I believe Bar'Cino could improve. Overall, the experience was positive, and we enjoyed our time at Bar'Cino.

Yelp
A fantastic local spot! The location and ambiance can't be beat. Everything we had here was incredible and we ended up going back again the next day!

Yelp
Fabulous fabulous fabulous! Food came insanely quickly and was insanely delicious. It's reasonably priced and includes bread, also delicious! Our server was named Dylan and he was fabulous- very attentive and kind! His attention to detail was fabulous. We sat on the patio and it was really nice. I totally recommend stopping by, and especially recommend the bread and bolognese: :)

Yelp
THIS. PLACE. I'm so happy it's in the neighborhood, and doing well. A reservation is recommended. Beautiful interior that's easygoing enough for friends yet charming enough for date night. The service is so kind. Had a friend with a nut allergy and they patiently checked all our dishes. Their little "allergen" wooden signs made her feel safer eating here. The food has such a good balance -- very flavorful without being too heavy. We ordered: Bruschetta with tomatoes, mozzarella, saba sauce (5/5) -- balanced with a mellow sweet and savory mix and soft creamy mozzarella. We enjoyed that the bread was thick and not overly toasted (nobody wants a cut up mouth). Mushroom Tagliatelle (5/5) -- if you love mushrooms, this is not to be missed. The proportion is hearty; I always have to take some of it to go. An option for folks with nut allergies: ask to replace the pesto with cacio e Pepe. They are very accommodating. Chocolate Coffee Budino (5/5) -- This surprised us. Strong coffee flavor and texture like rich dense mousse. Not overly sweet Pineapple Express Cocktail (4/5) -- simple, solid, strong drink. Slightly more sweet than bitter. Highly recommended! Will come back a 4th time.

Kate K.

Yelp
The drinks were amazing! The salad I had was one of the best salads I've ever had in my life. The only issue was that my order came out wrong regarding the protein. However, that was comped off our check. The ambiance and friendliness made up for it.

Yelp
This place was absolutely to die for, I got the bruschetta with creamy goat cheese, fig jam, prosciutto, and sprinkled with dill. As well as the special salmon with their baby arugula with their house dressing on top laid on a bed of celery root purée, and a hash with short ribs, butternut squash, and brussels sprouts. For the end, I got the Pistachio ricotta, cream cake and it was divine. I would ten out of ten recommend this place because of the fun, fresh and delicious flavors. I would, of course come back for the food but also for the amazing service. I would like to especially shout out my waiter Dylan, who gave us great recommendations as well as kind service. Also, this isn't classic Italian. This is modern with everyone being welcoming, and the ambience was spot on.

Yelp
What a wonderful restaurant experience today we had at Bar Cino in Newport. First off it was an amazing weather day with temperatures high 70's and we got to sit outside on this sunny day. My wife and I started off with wonderful Margaritas Pizza. Might be my favorite of all time. Can't believe I didn't take a photo of the pizza. I know I going back to order it. I also got a ceaser salad which I enjoyed and my wife had a very delicious Kale Salad. My friends ordered a spicy clam appetizer which they so enjoyed. They like the spicy sauce so much they took it in a takeout bowl. All our dinners where absolutely delicious. My chicken dinner was so moist. My wife's Pasta with garlic mushrooms was so good.... I tried it and loved it. My friends ordered another pasta dish and one order a wonderful fish dinner. Too full to order dessert but as I said I am going back to get the margarita pizza. Another reason for the 5 stars was service by Lauren who was extremely personable. High recommend!

Yelp
Mediocre food. Ordered the whole chicken for 2. Came with white skin, barely cooked. I shared it with a friend couldn't eat it. Too bad, since I'd hyped this place to him and his wife. His wife said her pasta bolognese was ok, nothing to write home about. I was so upset I wrote about it on an email from BC asking about our experience. I got a cold response from management saying he'd pass the info on to the chef. No offer of anything, a free drink or appetizer. This was after spending $210 for a lousy meal. Beware, it's not all it's cracked up to be.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance here! Arrived without a reservation but put our name on the listed, walked to another bar to grab a drink and by that time they had a table ready for us! Cocktails were good, charcuterie was amazing, and we loved our entree too. Pasta was great. Highly recommend this place for a date night!

Yelp
I went here with a group of 4 girlfriends. We are all 28 years old and went to Newport for a girls trip. We sat down and ordered our drinks (a bottle of wine for the table). The waitress asked for our IDs, which is fine. But what happened next was nasty, embarrassing, and would make me NEVER want to go back or recommend this place. The waitress checked all of our IDs and said thank you and went to put in our drink order. A few minutes later she came back and said she needed to collect all of our IDs again before she could serve us because she has "never seen an ID look like this" (we are from New York) . Confused... we all gave our IDs to her. She brought all 5 of them up to her manager and they were inspecting and looking at us for about 10 minutes. We were getting angry at this point and other people in the restaurant were noticing and looking as well. She came back with our IDs and a booklet. She said they she would only serve us if we wrote down all of our information and signed this book stating we are over 21. We are almost 30!!! The booklet had pages of other peoples very personal information that we were free to look through. Thank god our friend is a lawyer and told us not to put any information down and just sign our names. We signed and stayed for dinner and had a very uncomfortable rest of our experience at Bar Cino. I have never been so uncomfortable at an establishment in my life. They really need to come up with a better system for this. We stayed and finished our meals. The food was good but I would never ever recommend this place to anyone just based on how they treated us. Shame

Yelp
Excellent restaurant, cool vibe, great wait staff. Really enjoyed our food and had a great selection of different pizza, sandwiches, desserts. American twist on Italian

Yelp
Barcino is located right in the heart of historic Washington square. Laid-back restaurant & bar dishing up Italian specialties. The restaurant is a little tight with a very long bar where you can enjoy a drink and delicious food! The restaurant usually fills up with locales and visitors pretty quickly for dinner time so a ressy on the weekends is a good idea! The bar and wait staff is very friendly, attentive, and knowledge on dishes. The grilled pizza is the highlight hands down! A thin light crunchy grilled pizza with dollops of pizza sauce is absolutely delicious along with their chicken mill and bolognese for an entree!

Yelp
Overall: 5/5 stars! FOOD * What I had for my meal was the Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe & I would give that one a 4/5! I was choosing between that and the Tagliatelli and I definitely did like the Cacio e Pepe, but I would say that it is quite cheesier than others I've tasted, but still wonderful! The dish was absolutely dense, and I had plenty to take home. The clams were REALLY chewy (which I personally am not a fan of), but they were still delicious! * My friend shared part of her Tagliatelli with me & IT WAS SO DELICIOUS! I would give it a 5/5, and there was much more to spare for dinner--the dish was absolutely plentiful & filling! * THEIR HOUSE BREAD WAS SO DELICIOUS--absolutely mouth watering that we had to ask for more! SERVICE * Was so fantastic! We were doing a Newport daytrip and really wanted to come here, and it was absolutely packed. We almost didn't get a table, but luckily were able to because of the owner & hostess being so kind! * Our food came out fairly quickly and the three of me & my friends were very pleased with our experience :) LOCATION * Inside the restaurant was very casual and it's a cute little walk around outside.

Yelp
Our first courses were exceptional. We shared a salad with greens, Farro, squash, feta and pistachios. It was a tiny bit overdressed for me, but was otherwise near perfect. The brochette with prosciutto, fig and goat cheese was excellent. I was so excited for the mains. The special was excellent and a healthy portion of pork shoulder over polenta. The disappointment was my main of wild mushrooms over kale and white beans with roasted onions. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't delicious. The mushrooms were cooked in a way that they were dry and tough. The dish just didn't work. We still had a lovely evening, but not 5 stars this time. Please rethink the mushrooms dish.

Yelp
Great place for both family gathering and a date. The food was really delicious, the pizza especially and it was the Italians style thin crust pizza. The server was very friendly and helpful as they helped us navigate the menu.

Yelp
Love this place! Make sure to make reservations ahead because we had a hard time even tho we reserved two weeks before. Even then we were not able to get reservations till 9:15 pm. My pizza was amazing! I got the pesto pizza with chicken and arugula and it was so good. Thin and crispy. For drinks I had the tiki negroni which was okay. The ambiance was nice. The place was poppin on a Friday night. A little loud but that's to be expected on a Friday night. I would definitely go back.... Just for the pizza!

Yelp
I had heard that the famed Rhode Island specialty- grilled pizza - was not to be missed, and the tagliatelle is a top 10 pasta dish in my taste bud memory....OH MY WORD- Bar'cino is the place in Newport to indulge in this treasure!! The food is delectable; the perfect combination of unctuous and acid, unpretentious but warm service, and outstanding cocktails (and mock-tails!). We adored our meal here and plan to return every summer.

Yelp
I recently stopped by for lunch with my husband. We started off with some bruschetta - pickled maitake mushrooms, parsley, oregano, white bean purée - we both really liked it. For my meal, I ordered the Chicken Milanese Grilled Sandwich that had white beans, arugula, chicories, and parmesan. My husband had the Oven Roasted Chicken Grilled Sandwich that had arugula, pesto, chicories, and parmesan. Both of our sandwiches were full of flavor and we both loved the thin flatbread. Instead of fries, the sandwiches came with house-made chips that had a nice light garlic taste. In all, we were happy with our food and service, and would like to come back during our next Newport trip.
