Spanish wine & sherry bar with cold tapas & Mediterranean vibe
"“If, like me, the anxiety of ‘winter is coming’ is already setting in, get yourself to Bar Daskal. The wine and cocktail bar in Borough Yards, from the folks behind Barrafina, has Big Spanish Holiday Energy. The whitewashed walls, warm lighting, and bold artworks, combined with artfully placed knick-knacks and colour-coordinated books, give off a luxe Mediterranean B&B feel, in the best possible way. Slink into the banquette seating for date night fuelled by negronis or perch around high tables for a perfectly poured after-work Estrella. Just know that snacks like gildas and chorizo are essential and after a couple of strong spritzes, you’ll be muttering phrases like ‘costa del London Bridge’ and wondering if you too need a vintage vase stuffed with paintbrushes to bring the holiday atmosphere home." - DM" - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Daisy Meager, Sinead Cranna

"A London venue taking part in a month-long celebration of Spanish gastronomy, offering masterclasses, special guest tapas and tasting menus as part of events highlighting Spanish cuisine." - Shekha Vyas

"Opening at Borough Yards on 15 June just in time for summer, this sunny, sherry-focused wine bar is named for and inspired by the founders' grandfather, Vladimir Daskaloff. It will offer four styles of sherry alongside a selection of Spanish wines new to the Harts Group, and will pair drinks with classic Spanish snacks — gildas, crisps, olives, smoked almonds and jamón — as well as more substantial small plates such as a tortilla with allioli and a coca mallorquina (a tart with an olive-oil crust often topped with roasted red pepper and tomato sauce). Positioned alongside two other Harts openings at the development, it promises a bright, Iberian holiday of flavours at Borough Yards." - James Hansen

"From the Harts brothers' group behind Barrafina and Parillan, this Borough Yards venue acts as a ‘prequel’ to their other projects: part Barrafina’s first southern branch, part a more polished Parillan, and home to a dedicated sherry-and-cold-tapas concept that nods to the brothers' family history." - Adam Coghlan
