Yelp
Came here for the first time for a group event, which was reserved at their rooftop bar. Food that was served- seared tuna appetizers, pulled pork, pulled beef, pulled chicken, veggies, soft taco ingredients (i.e., guacamole, shredded cheese, salsa, soft tortillas), fruit platter, pulled pork sliders, and brie filled wraps.
What's Hot
- Quality. Pretty delish. Their meat dishes were probably the best as they were the most flavorful. Definitely tender. All their food was well-seasoned and not overly salty.
- Drinks. I ordered their Bahama or Malibu Breeze mixed cocktail drink. It was definitely fruity and sweet, which I really liked.
- Location. It's inconvenient in that it's in D.C. However, it's also helpful that it's within walking distance from metro stations and is conveniently located to several other options. Pretty easy to find, which is helpful.
- Nearby metro. It's about 1.5 blocks away from the Chinatown metro station, which is very helpful.
What's Not
- Layout. Their rooftop bar does not have additional lighting, which isn't helpful, especially as it gets darker. It definitely made it difficult to see things, especially the dishes. I'm surprised there wasn't additional outdoor lighting. Furthermore, their overall layout is pretty tight. To be fair, the building is somewhat narrow and it's in D.C., where the layout is also pretty tight. That means there may be difficulty finding enough tables and chairs if you're in a group setting of more than 2 people. There's also very little space to just move, which can be uncomfortable.
- Parking. As previously mentioned, it's D.C., which makes finding parking a headache and expensive.
- Service. Not bad, but not great. When we first arrived, I told the hostess that we were there for a group event that was reserved for the rooftop bar. She responded by asking me what event I'm there for. I told her it's a happy hour event reserved at the rooftop bar. She responded with being uncertain that there's an event at the rooftop bar. She then took out some sort of planner and saw that there was. She asked me to confirm the name of the group and then gave me instructions how to get to the rooftop bar. Doesn't appear their staff is very knowledgeable as to what's going on, especially a host(ess) should already have knowledge of these things. Once I was at the event, I observed their service is very slow. To be fair, I'm not certain what their staffing situation is like. However, I noticed they took a long time to put out all the different dishes. It was all done haphazardly and they didn't appear well-prepared.
Final Answer
As this was a prepaid group event, I don't know what the total (and hence, individual) cost would have been and I'm also not familiar with their menu. As such, my opinion is based solely on the aforementioned factors. Would be willing to come back, but probably not a first choice.
