"Part wine bar, part bottle store, part restaurant, Bar Ferdinand is a deceptively flexible spot worth knowing about for many situations. The place feels more like an industrial barn wedding than anything else, which makes zero sense until you’re there and surrounded by steel pillars, exposed wood beams and pipes, and many string lights indoors. This is an excellent venue to drink wine, but it’s also a place to eat some incredible food - particularly of the butter, pork, and joy persuasion. Go for the housemade bread and dry-cured sausage if you don’t want a full meal, or commit to one of the two complex entrees typically offered. Service is excellent, you can usually score a table for two without a hassle, the menu is different every day, and when the waitress tells you that the smoked beets (with slow-cooked pork and apple slaw) will blow your mind, she’s actually right." - Aimee Rizzo

"Bar Ferdinand, a sophisticated-but-approachable wine destination in Capitol Hill’s Chophouse Row, has closed after over four years. Known for its wines from small producers, primarily European following 'natural wine' principles, and a menu of refined bites using local ingredients, it offered a respite from the rowdier Capitol Hill nightlife. The original outpost in Melrose Market closed in 2017." - Gabe Guarente

Google
Beautiful wine bar with a chill ambiance. Nice selection of wines and unique food offerings. The seasonal tomatoes were divine, as was the potato and tuna pizza. We chose a wine from the great selection on display. However, the woman serving us didn’t seem to have a clue. She opened the bottle, poured very full glasses (I had to stop her), never offered to let us taste the wine before filling our glasses and walked off with the cork. Maybe wine just isn’t her thing.

Google
Went with a group of friends to try the tasting menu; I wanted to like Bar Ferdinand more than the service staff would allow. The wine pairing felt forced with the plates served; the portions were not commensurate with the marketed prices and I wanted a more creative dessert than sitting two scoops of ice cream with toast among four people.

Google
The lamb was exquisite. I worried the plum sauce would overpower the lamb, but it was seasoned exactly to compensate. The plating was, as you can see, impeccable. This is a hidden gem, and its low rating reflects more on its diners' expectations than the food or drink.

Google
Great cozy little spot w/ really good wines! I told the bartender what type of wine I liked and his suggestions was spot on!!

Google
A lovely selection of wines that are almost always giving some "interestingness" on the nose or palate. Thoughtful service, cool vibe, and creative food options.

Friendly staff, unique varietals (the Listan was a savory trip of a wine), amazing food (those sprouts were beyond satisfying), and beautiful space

Google
Excellent location (except may if you drove there, parking might be difficult) in a very cool and new little alley. The food (especially the bread) was very good and they had a rather large selection of wines. They also had a few ciders, which I enjoyed. I really liked the atmosphere of the place. Casual and relaxed with a sort of industrial feel.

Google
Very quaint, unassuming place. Read a lot about it so I tried it one night while in town on business. Great staff. Wine selection was superb, as was the tasting menu I had. Smoked smelt was divine. Mushroom and ricotta dumplings were the best thing I have had in a long time and I don’t even like mushrooms. Truly stellar. It’s a winner.

Yelp
cute place to grab a glass of wine, we went after grabbing dinner nearby and didn't have to wait on a saturday night. good service, aesthetic interior that has good ambient light but isn't too dark, and music wasn't too loud so you can actually chat. would be great for a date or girls night :)

Shaye V.

Yelp
Definitely on the pricier side. I like wine, but not enough to spend $50+ on a bottle (which is pretty much how expensive a bottle is here). It's kind of tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Cap Hill. Service was ok. Our server felt somewhat snobby for the questions we were asking, but ehh. It was a 7/10 experience

Yelp
This is a fairly intimate wine bar in Chophouse Row in Capitol Hill. Reservations are available on Resy but I was able to just walk in on a weekday as it was not busy. I sat at the bar and ordered their daily orange wine, which drinks like a sauvignon blanc but richer and funkier, as is typical of an orange wine. It was solid, but I was not a fan of how they don't list or mention prices upfront, and that glass was $16 before tax and mandatory 20% service charge, which is quite high for a glass of wine. There isn't really much service aside from giving the drink, so this ~$21 glass wasn't worth the price tag. Overall, this is a wine bar in Capitol Hill, that can be visited if you are in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

Mayra T.

Yelp
Overpriced pizza that's watery, lacks salt, the food comes in small portions. The wine is also overpriced and the pour is sad, and there's an automatic 20% surcharge on top of everything. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Laura S.

Yelp
A notable random find during my visit to Seattle! Had some cheese charcuterie, with a yummy cheese (I wish I asked what it was) and apricot jam. Had the Seco Especial which was a balanced and tasty drink with slight sweet notes for a non active alcohol drinker.

Kim T.

Yelp
Super super cute aesthetic bar! Lots of plants and nice mood lighting around the restaurant. Service was friendly. My friend and I got the prosciutto, white wines and bread/ butter. Good place for quick snack. Taking one star off because the menu is more on expensive side. Overall positive experience!

Kristi Y.

Yelp
this is truly a hidden gem of cap hill! it's a vibey, moody intimate spot, perfect for a date or a wine night with friends. been here a few times and every time i'm surprised with the flavors, there is always something unique and borderline quirky on their menu, some fantastic, some a little weird but all good to try. weekday nights, it's practically empty, weekends it can get pretty busy and you may have to wait for a spot. they've got bar seats, small tables, some booths, and outsoor seating. their menu (mostly the apps and entrees) rotates, i think their snack/smaller items stay pretty consistent, so every time, i try something new. they also have a lot of interesting wines, roses, some beers and ciders and a few cocktails and even some mocktails. they don't have a full bar but you can ask the staff and see if they can concoct something for you (i asked for a lemon drop but they didnt have vodka but said they could make it with gin instead). we went for srw and i got to try a bunch of their offerings. for apps we tried the heirloom tomato soup, which was creamy and so flavorful and came with a slice of cheesy bread that was warm and crispy. the beef carpaccio was also fantastic, it had a whole bunch of toppings all with different flavors that all added such fun accents to the beef. for entrees, we tried the pork belly, which was so tender and had lots of the rich, salty fatty bits. the spinach risotto was amazing, there were so many big chunks of mushroom in it. for dessert we had the poached peach with fennel granita and oat biscuits, the peach was so yummy, the granita was a little funky but maybe because it tastes like licorice. we also got to try the pumpkin tart that had a chocolate bottom and creme fraiche on the side. it was perfect, not too sweet and the creme fraiche added a nice tart twist to it. also their playlist was bomb!!!!!!

Nick B.

Yelp
We wanted to like the place but I'm sorry it's terrible. Maybe one of the worst pizzas ever made, the dough burnt yet soggy and tasted like water, ZERO salt and then they add a 20% surcharge just because they are on their way out of business.

Frank S.

Yelp
Great vibes and wonderful staff. The alcohol selection isn't very big but the drinks that they do have are really good. The vibe of the restaurant is super cool. It reminds of of LA meets Seattle. I haven't had a lot of things on the food menu just yet but the things that I have tried are really good. My favorite cocktail is the gin, vermouth blend, red bitters and my favorite entree is the Roasted Halibut Collar, Lime and maple miso glaze. They also have a really good snack menu (daily cheeses w/ house-made preserves. I would highly recommend this place for anyone new to Seattle and want a really cool Seattle bar vibe. I would have given a 5 Star review if the drink selection was a bit more but I assume that's what they're shooting for. Quality over quantity.

Wendi K.

Yelp
Expansive cocktail/wine menu as well as light bite/charcuterie/entree type dishes. We tried a variety of cocktails and small dishes. Everything was presented beautifully. My tequila based cocktail (called the #8, $12) was well made, but very sweet. -Whipped Bread and Butter ($5) -Cod Liver Mousse ($12): Amazingly light and fluffy, beautiful presentation, very sweet with a layer of gelee on the top -Prosciutto, Mortadella ($5 each): Thinly shaved and good portions! -Gnocchi ($16): Green Chickpea Gnocchi floating in a tasty savoury broth with bits of pancetta Absolutely stunning interior and casual but date night worthy setup. Love the ambience the wood fired stove created along with the gorgeous prep kitchen. 20% added service fee

Kayla L.

Yelp
The cutest wine bar! What a great little spot. The staff and wine were wonderful. Cozy, fun and the best space.

Yvette M.

Yelp
Very expensive. The wine was ok. The soup "french onion soup" had no broth and was simply salty toasted bread with caramelized onions. Not sure I would go back. Lastly if a tip is automatically charged then I don't think it's classy to have tip line again in the receipt.

Yelp
"Ew, don't go to that place it sucks" - sound advice from my Seattle friend, whom I was visiting. Advice I sadly ignored, since I needed to kill an hour while she and my wife shopped nearby. Service was hard to find and extremely standoffish when engaged. I ended up having to go to the bar to get my one drink, since I noticed that's what the one other table was resorting to. When I finished my drink, I crossed the courtyard and had a few puffs on my vape, being sure I was far away from the outdoor seating area. I then sat down and the server walked up to me all on his own - "ah, maybe he's shaken his hangover and service will improve" I thought. I opened my mouth to order something else, as one does in these situations, but the surly server blurted out "we saw you vaping on the patio so we're just not gonna serve you any more" and handed me a check WITH 20% INCLUDED ALREADY. At any rate, give this place a wiiiiide berth.

Yelp
Everything from the food, to the drinks, to the service at Light Sleeper was 5 stars. We really enjoyed the unique variety of natural wines and crafted cocktails. They make an excellent house vermouth too! Their food is tapas style with everything ranging from vegetables, charcuterie, meats, and seafood. We tried the Cucumbers, Fried Burdock, Roasted Carrots, Charred Cabbage, and Meatballs. A great way to try multiple dishes packed with flavor--you can really tell that they put a lot into every dish they create and serve. They paired everything perfectly by serving lighter dishes to start, followed by the heavier dishes. Not the mention, the ambiance and design of the restaurant is welcoming too. Highly recommend!

Zakiya T.

Yelp
I was in the area grabbing pizza from A-Mart across the way and ran into this cute little place. My boyfriend and I really gravitated to the ambiance. I live for the aesthetics! I ordered the Sparking Bojo Do Luar , he had the house Whiskey. Super super cute , they even have small bites. Inside and outside seating which I love! Definitely would come here during the night time for date night! 10/10

Marina B.

Yelp
Tucked away in chophouse row, this bougie little place barely feels like Cap Hill. Their menu is quite different - if you're looking your classic tomato sauce and cheese kind of pizza, you'll likely be disappointed. I opted for the Beet Pizza and was amazed! It was super delicious and from crust to toppings. My friend was happy to discover that they offer gluten free crust as well. I also tried their orange wine which I personally thought tasted to much like cider for $19 a glass All in all, this is a cute place with tasty food and great service!

Sean Y.

Yelp
Interesting environment for tasting cocktails and wines. Not much service involved. Feeling like they were short labor. Only 2 server running whole night so they don't have time to greet you. And no secondary service was provided. We got #4 & #5. Interesting taste that is something beyond the words can describe. You need to come to experience it. Foods are in small portion which is understandable since it's a tasting room. Capacio is fresh but it would be great if it came with balsamic vinegar. Bean soup is pretty standard no comment on this. Environment overall is nice. Clean but the distance between tables is a bit too close to each others. But good place to hang out with friends

Oliver G.

Yelp
Snails ! Well, that's one of several small plates we shared. Not too garlicky, nicely herbed so you could taste the little buggers as you chewed. Fun wine list. Go willing to learn something new, rather than order an old favorite. The outdoor space is nice, but not the star. Sit inside happily, and enjoy your party.

C H.

Yelp
Very nice rotating selection of wines. We got the mushroom toast and really enjoyed it! Loved all of the plants and wooden details of the interior. To top it off, service was excellent. Definitely want to go back.

Yelp
Very long overdue - My husband and I had our wedding reception at Light Sleeper in early October last year and it was amazing! LS has a lot to offer with its menu + drink selection but also its decor. It has an open layout onto the courtyard with plants dangling from the rafters and really dope modern style. We knew after being by there a few times, we had to have our reception there. Eli was incredibly patient and flexible in working with us. We trusted him with menu and he DELIVERED. Fresh pizzas, in season salads, charcuterie, cheeses, and so many other bomb bites - I could keep going. The staff was really sweet the night of and they let us take over the space including the nearby courtyard. It was a really magical evening and we look back at that night very fondly. Ty LS staff + Eli!

Mary R.

Yelp
The vibes in here are great, felt cozy and had lovely decorations. Lots of different areas to sit in. I am not a huge natural wine person but loved the selections we had while we were there. I wish we could have stayed for dinner bc the food menu looked amazing! They also have a great selection of cocktails and a full bar. The service was fantastic, we really enjoyed our waitress. Great personality, well versed in the menu and very pleasant over all!

Scarlet G.

Yelp
This has to be one of my top ten favourite places to go in Seattle! It reminds of my favourite wine bars in Paris. They recently changed the menu and no longer have my favourite pizza (which can be made gluten free, dairy free or vegan!) which I was a bit sad about but they did say they being them back again soon. I recently had the lemon anchovies - which are my favourite thing on the menu! And the steak tartar - this was just ok. I prefer steak tartare to be more traditional but if you're the kind of person who likes some added flare to their tartare then I'd recommend it! This place is great whether you just want drinks or drinks and dinner! I've only ever drunk wine there as they have such a good choice but they do have cocktails which always look delicious! I'd highly recommend adding Light Sleeper to your list of places to go in Seattle.

Cellar D.

Yelp
Sake + white anchovies + beef carpaccio + dates with cardamom oil + espresso hot chocolate. Wow, this meal was amazingly creative and delicious. I watched the chef preparing and plating everything - he is an artist who took great care with every detail. Not to mention the beautiful space in the totally unique Chophouse Row. Light Sleeper, ignore any bad reviews. The haters can find a McDonalds somewhere and get the preservatives and oversize portions they are craving there.

Sophia Y.

Yelp
The food itself gets ~mostly~ a 5 out of 5. Did a mix of happy hour and dinner menu. Beef tongue tartine was so good I could have ordered a few more plates of it and have been a happy camper. Slices of tongue were perfectly tender with rich aioli underneath it - all donned on top of a crusty piece of toast. Yum. Snails were also amazing with deep sorrel flavors and perfect little sun choke garnish. Pumpkin soup was one of the best autumnal dishes I've had so far in 2021 - the chili oil was so unexpected but a perfect accompaniment. Wild mushroom pate was also unexpected surprised but definitely needs more than two pieces of toasts cut into thirds. We of course ordered more bread and was charged but hey, it was sorta worth it but I think they could have tossed in a slice or two more when they saw there was half a pate log left with no toast bits left on the table. This is the part where it loses a solid star - perhaps even more if the food wasn't as tasty. The happy hour cocktail was half the normal portion of a standard drink. Such disappointment when you're charging 10 dollars for what it tasted like a premade mixture (#2) you just poured out into a glass. Sherry on the happy hour was similar story. Definitely half pours. Thought perhaps the wine from the dinner list would be fuller and more appropriate pours but two glasses from the non-happy hour list were also very *SMOL* All this aside I think I still could have given this place a 4/5 if it hadn't been for the crotchety server we had. From the moment we sat down to getting the menus, they seemed to be in a real bad mood and did not want to be there. This part of chophouse row historically has had poor cell service and difficult to utilize the cellular for pulling up the menu. I asked for the Wi-Fi password and they made it seem like I was asking for their first born. Couldn't get the Wi-Fi to connect and I was too afraid to ask for the password again and the server told me to just look at my dining partner for the menu. Okay - cool. I noticed the table next to me ran into a very similar issue as well with inability to access their cell service for QR menu. Seems like an extreme minute detail but this server also didn't bother to ask for last call for happy hour which has been my experience anywhere else in the last decade of enjoying happy hour. The nearby table patrons and I bonded over this issue again and laughed over the service. All in all, I'd probably come back here and hope I don't get the same server because the food is that good. Otherwise, brace yourself for an unpleasant service and an automatic 20% added to your bill.

Annette W.

Yelp
Wow light sleeper.. More lo like the cook might be asleep this place is literally only good for atmosphere and Wine and desert we loved the staff how ever our food was horrible we had to get a dicks burger after we left because the season pumpkin dish was horrible and it was in fish sauce nasty they even took that horrible thing off our bill . let them tell it but then as part of our $118.00 bill that left us starving to death they charge an automatic 20% And this affects ones tips because we have already been automatically charged go to chophouse instead or literally anywhere else on the hill our bread was cold and the butter was frozen we had to ask for olive oil however wack our experience was the music was good staff cool the food horrible I mean bad just get drinks and dessert here and your safe anything else a total 20% percent nightmare

Natalie S.

Yelp
10/10. Amazing wine, cocktails, food and service. My servers Camille and Maddie were amazing.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Part of a cute alley on Cap Hill. Went on a Friday and thought it'd be packed, but it was pretty empty even at 6:30pm. That may have been a sign.... While the food was decent, wine by the bottle was over priced so we went with individual drinks. Plus, our server was not at all helpful in selecting items saying the dishes were as described in the menu. She couldn't be bothered. Lack of one star is just for her. Wish I got her name. Maybe it's because they automatically charge a 20% tip. Lack of motivation? But other servers were just fine so..... DESPITE her, we still ordered: Bread - 3/5. Tough crust and we got a lot of the crust pieces. Anchovies - 3/5. Decent with the bread. Didn't love it. Olives - 4/5. Good portion for the price. Marinated green beans - 5/5. Good flavor and crunch. French onion soup - 3/5. The emmental cheese had a blue cheese flavor so I didn't enjoy that. Short rib terrine - 5/5. Fave of the bunch. I liked the crusty outer layer yet tender meat. Good flavor, too. Spigarello pizza - 3/5. The sausage was super peppery. Not my cup of tea. The crust was good though.

Yelp
I walk past Light Sleeper all the time with my dog and been curious to try it. We were finally able to hit it up the other night with some friends and I'm gonna be honest . . . I was pretty disappointed. The interior and the vibe is a 5/5. There are plants and vines EVERYWHERE it's so cool! And the lighting is very nice and soft. Maybe it was an off night, but they seemed very short staffed. We waited at the front with no acknowledgement for awhile to the point where we debated just leaving (we watched a few other parties walk in later, wait forever, and just leave for the same reason). We waited a super long time to order drinks as well. Once they got to our table tho, the wait staff was nice. The drinks were good . . . but super overpriced. My boyfriend ordered a cocktail that was $14 and it was basically the size of mayyybe a shot and a half, like genuinely only a couple sips worth of alcohol. I ordered rose and really enjoyed it, but it was also pretty expensive for the amount you get. The last thing we ordered was the chocolate bread pudding and it was genuinely some of the worst bread pudding I've ever had. I'm so sorry to say that, but it was suuuuper overspiced and the four of us couldn't finish it because it just wasn't enjoyable. No chocolate flavor at all either. Maybe it just wasn't our cup of tea. Loved the environment, but not a fan of the lack of service, the price for what you get, or the dessert. Glad we tried it, but won't return.

Courtney L.

Yelp
I had one of the weirder dining experiences of my life at Light Sleeper. A table of six of us came in to eat here while four of us were visiting friends in Seattle. Four of us are fairly into natural wines, so we were excited to try their by the glass menu. They had a small but good selection and we enjoyed our wines. It began getting weird when the two of our friends who aren't huge natural wine geeks tried to order drinks. The first friend was helped through ordering by being asked what cocktail she liked, and was recommended a glass of wine and a couple of cocktails. The second friend asked what cocktail he should get because he's not a big wine drinker and the server said she would get wine because this is a wine bar. He ordered some wine but the overall tone about it was weird. Then, we ordered some bites. Most of our small plates were delicious! It got odd, though, when we ordered oysters, which came out beautifully laid out on a pile of seashells and small rocks, but with no lemon or mignonette or hot sauce or any other dressing. My friend asked if he could get some vinegar or something to put on them, and our server said she would ask about it. She walked two steps away, and then pivoted on her back foot and said "no, our chef wants you to experience them as is. They have a salty taste." Which... most oysters... do. It was weird that we couldn't get any dressing for the oysters, and weirder still that she acted like she was going to ask about it and then just changed her mind and said we couldn't have anything. It was also strange because it wasn't like she had any other information about the oysters besides that they were salty. My friend J had been before, and so she mentioned to the server that she had had their wonderful wood fired pizza the last time she was there. The server acted affronted at this and talked for two to three minutes about how they only had pizza during the pandemic because they had to but wouldn't be offering them now because there are a lot of other things they cook and they never wanted to be the kind of place that served pizza etc. It was honestly so bizarre, and I couldn't figure out why it was so offensive for J to have complimented the pizza. Some of my small plates needed salt, but after the oyster incident, I couldn't imagine asking. Honestly, it was so strange, and it's really unfortunate because the food was pretty good and if you like natural wines, it could be a fun place for dinner. But I can't imagine recommending someone go somewhere where they will get dragged if they want to dress their oysters.

Sara H.

Yelp
I came here for wine with a couple of friends and had a wonderful time! The wine recommendations from our server were on point. I thought the staff was really attentive and the ambiance was very relaxed. Great addition to Chophouse Row!

Nicole R.

Yelp
Good ambiance. I love the area. I love what the chefs provided and the staff. Great patio!

Sonu L.

Yelp
Love the food here , the olives , bread , watermelon salad are fantastic . Loved the precious mushroom tapenade too . The wines are too natural for me . I do love the mocktails here .

Misha W.

Yelp
Super cute place to go meet a girlfriend and have some drinks and small plates. I couldn't eat anything on the menu due to my dairy allergy and the food menu being very lite. But we enjoyed the ambiance and some red wine for a couple hours and I would come back just for that:

Maggie H.

Yelp
I came to light sleeper back in December on a weekday near close. I absolutely loved the ambiance. Plants, pickled vegetables, and a partially open kitchen concept was the highlight. I liked the lengthy wine menu with natural wine options. My friends and I ordered a cheese board per our server's recommendation. However, the board itself wasn't 8$ like they said it would be, it was 8$ per slice of cheese! The board had stewed, unseasoned pumpkin which could have been really delicious with some sort of seasoning. I was bummed that they carched me for only three slices of cheese for 24$. Entrees were very small yet still Seattle priced. I had the dumplings which were actually very good, soaked in a umami sauce. My friend had the shortrib but said he was still hungry after. Miel drink which was delicious, dangerously addictive, and served in an old honey jar. Would probably return for the ambiance, wine, & location.

Christy P.

Yelp
Really chill bar. The bartender was really nice and made a yummy pineapple ginger beer drink. It's not loud in here and the bar chairs were comfortable.

Rachel C.

Yelp
Super cute bar in Chophouse Row! A bit pricey but it's more of a tapas and drinks place imo. We got the charcuterie plate which was pretty misleading; it only came with a thin layer of cuts of meat, no crackers, no cheese. Wouldn't come back again for food, but def for drinks!

Kevin R.

Yelp
Service was trash (20% service fee on any sized party) and never paid attention to my table. Even forgot an entree. Food didn't taste good at all. Portions were incredibly small and didn't justify the price by any means. Food didn't in the proper order. Appetizers came with one of the entrees even when I specifically said I wanted the bread first before anything else. Partner waited ages just to find out her order was never entered. Waitress only gave us a sip of champagne to account for her mistake. Wine prices were through the roof. They up-charge on a small glass of wine. Only good thing about this place is the vibes and music. Would not recommend going here unless you want you want to leave starving having paid 2-3x more than what you would've paid elsewhere. We ended up eating at a Katsu burger place around the corner, since we were that hungry after leaving.

Rob M.

Yelp
I went for dinner there last night on a whim with a visiting friend. We really just walked downtown the alley to see what was hidden away and I'm so glad we did. Service was fantastic, the menu diverse and interesting - and very reasonably priced. Ambience at night in their courtyard with their twinkle lights is great too.

Sam T.

Yelp
Staff was rude and the wait for a bar drink ridiculous. I know they are new and I'll try again another time and give another review but was super disappointed trying to get a seat or a drink. Charge tip automatically kind of place. Location great, looks nice, didn't get a chance to try anything

Allison T.

Yelp
Great wine and great service, but the food was oddly sweet and lacked balance. The only saving grace was the savory doughnuts. Everything else was sadly under salted. Would go back for beverages and hard pass on the food.

Jenny D.

Yelp
yikes- this place was so overpriced. We popped in and had two classes of wine (total not each) and some cheese and it was $80. The cheese plate didn't even come with anything so we had to buy the bread separately. They gave themselves a 20% tip for essentially doing nothing. Won't be going back.

Scot B.

Yelp
Beautiful venue, great tasting wine. Also off the block a little bit which is nice and secluded even though it's in the heart of CapHill.

Kimmi G.

Yelp
I love the little garden corridor of chophouse row. Tucked in the back is light sleeper. My hubs and I wanted a little bubbles and bite. This place is tapas style, with a spanish twist. Limited options for food - but it's almost more charming that way. I feel like I am always overwhelmed with choices when I go out to dinner. We had bubbles recommended by our waitress and the cacio e Pepe pizza. The pizza was BOMB. Like unexpectedly delicious. Small wildfire pizza and the sauce literally tastes like authentic Italian cacio e Pepe sauce you would have on noodles. Highly recommend. Super cute date night spot, girls night, etc. just be prepared for limited food options, but wasn't a problem for this vegetarian :)

Erin C.

Yelp
Put on your seat belts because I'm about to make some bold assertions: I have come to believe that Light Sleeper makes the best lunch in all of Seattle AND potentially the best pizza. I'll admit that, when it comes to lunch options, I'm usually more of a Chipotle and Hot Mama's pizza kind of girl, but I've been absolutely enchanted by everything I've tried on this menu and I can't seem to stop dropping by. The genesis for this review is the fact that I just purchased the pumpkin pizza, which, given the generous size, was intended for both lunch and dinner (unfortunately, it only stuck around for 20 glorious minutes, as I proceeded to immediately devour the whole thing). Bestrewn with thin slices of tender pumpkin, sweet shallots, a liberal scattering of Parmesan, and whatever lardo is (subtle bacon, maybe?), all on top of a soft, airy, and chewy crust, it was perfect. PERFECT. I've also tried (and adored) the beet salad, lobster mushroom bisque, and a few other pizzas, but the pumpkin reigns supreme so far! Literally cannot wait to go back for more. Pro Tip: Eat next to the fire pit in Chophouse Row and bring your pup (they have treats)!

Yelp
Beautiful place inside. The drinks we had were great and the food is good. Don't get the Walla Walla onion pizza if you don't love the taste of fish because it had anchovy and tasted very fishy.

Yelp
WOW. Ever have one of those nights where you go out looking for whoever's open and get unexpectedly blown away by an amazing new place? My partner & I had two pizzas: beet for her, and mortadella for me. Both were as good a wood-fired pizza as you'll find anywhere in Seattle, no kidding. And the crust deserves special mention for being utterly, absolutely off-the-hook amazing. Light, airy, just the right amount of both crispy and soft, and perfectly seasoned. Also fantastic was the house-made chili oil. We'll be back, and soon.

Yelp
This natural wine bar is a nice addition to Chophouse row. I had a japanese pear dessert there a month ago that was amazing. Tonight I had the Squash Bolognese, squid ink gnocchi, celery leaf, ricotta salata and the Olive Oil Poached Salmon, brussels sprouts, parmesan, buttermilk, house fish sauce. Both were good. The person I was with loved them. I just liked the food. It was a bit less complex and a tiny bit salty for my taste. The dessert was again great and we had the Chocolate Olive Oil Cake, candied orange, fromage blanc. Perfect texture and richness, the cocoa powder bitterness was offset by the cake and the candied orange and fromage blanc was fun to mix with the flavors. The service is amazing, atmosphere really lovely, and over all vibe great for a wine bar. The wine I had, Celler 9+ "Cantaperdius" 2018, was good and reasonably priced for Seattle but was not particularly full bodied which is what I asked for when I asked for a recommendation. It was a nice wine, though so I was very happy with it. They do include a 20 percent service charge which I think is great. Two dishes, one glass of wine, and a dessert came to around 60ish dollars for dinner
