The 14 Best Tapas Spots In Barcelona 2024

"Not much has changed at this classic bar since it opened in 1955—the vintage interior’s geometric floor tiles and mosaic-topped tables make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Jai-Ca’s home of Barceloneta was once a sleepy fisherman’s village and is now a beachfront neighborhood with tons of tourists. But locals also love this spot for giant plates of fried baby squid, chipirones (garlicky grilled scallops), and the bomba: a deep-fried potato ball filled with spicy ground beef that was born right in Barceloneta." - isabelle kliger

19 Best Tapas Bars in Barcelona, From Natural-Wine Bars to Market Stalls | Condé Nast Traveler

"Jai-Ca is all about eating until you burst—and then eating some more. This is the place to go if you like the idea of gorging on giant plates of fried seafood tapas: three different kinds of fried squid (chocos, calamares, or chipirones), fried anchovies (boquerones), whitebait (pescaditos), steamed mussels and clams, and grilled razor clams. If you’re not into seafood, the spicy bomba (fried, meat-filled potato ball), is another best-seller." - Isabelle Kliger

Niiiiice! Now I smell like seafood... What I got the fried little fishes and the peppers. BOTH WERE DELICIOUS! I like the peppers and the fishes were also great. it was fried crispy enough and the pepper were also cooked very well - though I think they went a little too much on the salt. Environment A rather small space inside. The frying/cooking is in the open I'd say so the smell from the food can stick to you easily. I walked out smelling like the restaurant.... Niceness of the staff Very patient staff while I sit there and decide on what I want to order. There was a lot of the menu and I couldn't decide... so they were very patient. Dollar It was reasonably priced. It was a total of 20 something euro for the 2 dishes and a sparkling water Yes I would recommend but caution people on the after smell...

First place we sat around barceloneta. Quite busy, we had to wait for a table and service was a tad slow but if your plan is to chill and drink that’s no issue. The food was really tasty and good to share. Loved the bomba and the sardines, homemade truffles were also greatI’d deffo go back and suggest for an after beach bite

Google
The food was amazing, the service friendly and the price modest! We had a great time here but the cleanliness was a little concerning. Hopefully that's a one off only.

First time visit to Spain and Barcelona, had emailed Jai-Ca to make reservation and got very nice and quick response. During the first day of our visit it was very hot so me and my daughter lacked a bit of appetite but we had the "Pa de Coca" and the Spanish Omelette. Service and food was great and atmosphere was very good. Any next visit to Barcelona I will definitely go there again to try more of their tapas and beers. Pricing is also friendly!

Google
My favourite bar / restaurant in Barceloneta. We were lucky to stay very close and visited a couple of times during our stay. The traditional bombas and Vermouth are a winning tapas combination.

Google
Small and cozy bar with tables outside. The food was phenomenal and the staff was super friendly. They mostly speak Spanish but the communication was still easy even with rudimentary knowledge of Spanish. The area is calm and nice which makes the experience even better. I would love to come back next time I'm in Barcelona.

This spot is a taverna with history, like, actual character, not just some reclaimed wood and Edison bulbs pretending to be rustic. We were served cured tuna with olives in olive oil, which we lovingly destroyed with hunks of bread. No crumb left behind. The tuna melted in your mouth Geez. We would’ve licked the plate, but we’re not animals.

I always like to go there for the good food and atmosphere. Also very popular for the tourists visiting Barcelona and want to have tasty traditional tapas.

Yelp
Bar Jaica is the most satisfying tapas bar! Everything was cooked to perfection. Must order the croquettes de jamón and the tortilla. The feta salad is delectable and we are really enjoyed the gazpacho, as well. Everything was fantastic. Linger a while, enjoy the bold table tops and cafe atmosphere. Have a cappuccino or a sangria to go with your tapas. You won't regret it! You

Yelp
Fun tapas bar near the waterfront. We had a great variety of tapas, all tasty, attentive service and the place has the feel of a locals spot.

Yelp
my favorite tapa restaurant in Barcelona. I have been here 5 times in the last 18 months and have never had a bad meal. Love the Russian salad and the croquettes!!

Yelp
I saw this place recommended for their tapas online a lot but I couldn't really tell why based on my visit. It's located in a quiet part of down near the beach which is a nice oasis outside the hustle and bustle of the city. There was no wait when I went around 5:45 PM on a Friday for an early dinner/snack. When we were brought to a table, there were shrimp tails scattered ALL over the floor. The table felt gross and sticky. The bathroom is very small and felt so so dirty. It's nice that they have an English menu and there seemed to be a lot of locals in the restaurant/bar. Our server seemed to go on a break halfway through serving us and we saw him drinking at the bar haha. The sangria was sweet and yummy. We wanted something not too heavy so we ordered the calamari and the greek salad to start with. Both were really good. The potatas bravas were simple and just okay. We saw someone order the salmon and avocado timbale which looked super good, wish we tried it out! Overall, an average spot for tapas in Barcelona, but I probably would've rated it higher if it felt cleaner in the restaurant.

Yelp
My wife and I were in Barcelona on vacation and we loved this place so much, we actually went twice and I had the snails both times. We were lucky and the World Cup 2022 was going on at the same time as we were there. We sat in front of the one TV and I ordered a big beer for like 3.50 Euros and our nice waitress brought it over for us. I ordered snails and anchovies and fried cuttle fish. They were all excellent. The snails take some practice, but once you get a hang of it, you use your wooden javelin to pick the meat out. They give you A LOT of snails too in a hot broth with a tomato base. It even has a big bay leaf in it. The snails are super tender and it is a good twenty minute dish to get through. I also got some free olives with my beer, which were awesome as well. The cuttle fish were like fish McNuggets. Just awesome and the anchovies were their fishy goodness as always. One of many things I love about Spain is how easy it is to get anchovies. Whether in vinegar, salty, or my favorite...Fried. Just delicious every time I had them, and it was probably 6 or seven times in our ten days of Spain. This place feels like a local bar, where everybody knew each other. Great service, excellent food, pretty reasonably priced. Loved it!

Yelp
This is the perfect place for traditional Catalunya tapas. The food and service was amazing. Everything tasted fresh and staff was very welcoming and helpful with suggestions. It's a great location in the Barceloneta on a quiet street that feels more local. We sat at the bar and I loved the decor and style of the entire restaurant. I would say this is a very authentic spot and must try if you're looking for good tapas.

Yelp
My Airbnb hosts decided to take me here for dinner after we had a gang of drinks at the history museum rooftop. They are regulars here and live about a 5-7 minute walk from the place which is always a good thing. The place was packed on a Thursday night so we attacked the bar while waited for a table. They ordered some drinks which seemed to be like a white vermouth but looked like limoncello...they wouldn't tell me the name, but it was pretty good. Once we got seated, I let the two of them order since they knew what was good. They ordered lots of tapas which included calamari, patatas bravas, croquetes de jamon and many other goodies. Basically lots of good food and drinks were had in this outing. Definitely a great spot with a good atmosphere.

Yelp
Super local yet super touristy. Must make reservation ahead if you don't want to wait for a long time. I'm sure they are good but probably I didn't order the right dishes - Cod and Prawn Croquette - very good and both Prawn and Cod makes its flavor more complex than normal ones. Snail Mussel Above two dishes both come in red sauce, marina something? It was too heavy together and gets boring later on. Fried Little Fish - it was good but I should have order grilled not fried. House Vermouth was not bad but not special as well.

Yelp
Went here for dinner based off the recommendation of a tour guide! You know when the wait staff doesn't know much English and you see tourists around you're in the right place! We ordered some tapas to share and everything was delicious! We got bombas (on the recommendation of our guide...so good!), fried shrimp, potatoes and grilled vegetables. We also split the Catalan cream for dessert! Yummy! Service was extremely fast, prices more than reasonable and the servers were friendly and patient with us even though we had a language barrier. So happy we stopped into this little joint! Definitely recommend!:)

Yelp
We stopped by this place for lunch before going to the beach. Overall it was pretty good but quite pricey for the portion sizes. I suspect that's probably standard prices around this area since it's close to the beach. We ordered: - Anchovy with fried fishbone: my least favorite as the anchovy was super salty and vinegary and the fishbones were just fried tasteless bones - Grilled razor shells: good but not worth the price for 4 pieces - Fried cuttlefish: pretty good. If you like calamari you'll like this as it's a similar texture to squid but meatier - Bomba: this was good but not super memorable - Callos (tripe stew): this was my favorite. Really great flavors and the tripe was super soft.
google avatar

Jerry Z.

Yelp
The place was small, the atmosphere was homey, and the staff was kind despite being a little slow What we ate: Spanish ham: incredible, 10/10 do recommend Bomba: so-so, pretty much just tastes like mashed potatoes Fried house onions: too much onion, but the sauce they serve with it is amazing; most likely roasted tomato based Anchovies with fried fish bones (house special): for your inner salt fiend, these packed a huge punch but one will be enough Fried whole squid: yummy, but I wish there was more seasoning or a dipping sauce

Yelp
Let see. How do I describe this without sounding too over the top... This, honestly, is, the, best, meal, I've had in Barcelona! The food was simply awesome and boy the tapas, just way too good! The fried prawns, YUM! Meat balls, man I have had better sources! Octopus, how tender! Mushrooms, always loved it! Stuffed mussels, lovely filling! Ramba potato, boy that was special and awesome! Sangria, refreshing! There's not a single fault I can fault this place besides the queue was too long and I spell like I had an awesome feast in a great Spanish restaurant. Price was reasonable we ended up approx €20 each across 5 of us, but decently full as well. I guess it's hard to be much cheaper for some decent food. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
holy moly their spicy sausages are gooooood i loved everything we ordered - gambas (duh) and an order of pan con tomate to soak up the garlic oil. the albondigas was very tender and full of flavor - not just tomato paste-y which tends to be how the american tapas restaurants make it. we also got an order of the bomba and i have no idea what was in it but it was so so good. mashed potatoey inside with some type of meat and fried to perfection. then it was topped with some aioli and peppery sauce (reminds me of the toppings of patatas bravas) be sure to order a bottle of the house red. it's big and only 9€

Yelp
Visiting from New York, and was one of the highlights of my trip. Must try!!! The customer service, price, and ambiance is unbeatable.

Yelp
This place is a few blocks from the very busy Barceloneta Marina area but seems a world away. About a 70/30 mix of locals to tourists,at least at the bar location. There's also a separate restaurant location on the same street about a two minute away. We ate at the small but colorful and boisterous corner bar. Busy and chaotic, our evening was made more entertaining by our waiter with limited English and our nearly nonexistent Spanish! Cerveza por favor! There's a page at the back of the menu with English translations or you can be adventurous and order something from the Spanish side. We ordered several tapas. All were very good! Can't go wrong with the meatballs or shrimp,(Mandonguilles and gambeta allada). Tried Sipia from the Spanish side. Pretty sure it's cuttlefish or aka squid. Also very good! Would be interested in coming back in a few years to see what the local/tourist ratio has become.

Yelp
Have been there like 30times. One of my fav places to go on Sundays for hang over after food. Almost always a bank. My recommendations. Chipirones. Mejillones al vapor. Sardinas a pa plancha. Borquerones al vinaigre. Almejas a la plancha. Don't order the pan con tomate. it s not good. order pan coca instead. it s more like the pan con tomate you would expect. Bondigas like to be cold inside. They don't heat it up enough. Always :D. Order extra plates. for some reason you only get one plate for the whole table. :D Vegetables is not their strenght. Salad neither. Ask for the fresh stuff of the day. All mentioned above can be delicious but also taste a bit used and not fresh sometimes. Love this place for keeping authenticity, keeping it real and being a familiar traditional in a super touristy area.

Yelp
Barceloneta. This restaurant/bar. Sangria with cava. That's all you really need to know. The wait was a tad bit long but worth it. We were seated by the bar nearest the banos by a very kind gentleman. Ordered cava (which was flat since it was the last drop in the bottle) and the sangria with cava -- mas mejor since bartender popped open new bottle. I felt the OH from the sangria coursing through my body. If it weren't for the bar, I'd probably be flamenco'ing on the floor. Fried baby shrimps are a must. I'm Asian so I eat everything, from head to tail. Calamari rings were solid, but I've had more tender squid. Can't go wrong with croquettas here. Crispy on the outside. Warm and goo-ey on the inside. Grilled veggies (eggplant, bell peppers, onions, potatoes and sauce) were delicious! It's s local favorite now made less local by tourists like us. Nevertheless, our neighbors were super kind. They shared their sardines which I would never imagine to order (thank you my Espanola friends) and mussels in a red sauce. We would definitely return to this little jewel of a place, not only to see our sawadee compadre, but to libate on local bebidas and tapas!
google avatar

Ita D.

Yelp
Nothing really special about the place but the Food! Tapas were so delicious - a friend of mine recommended it otherwise I would not have found it - in the Barceloneta area but very hidden. So about the food - try as many different things as possible - the tapas are a bit bigger that at other tapas places so maybe if you are two ppl dont get more than 4-5 tapas. We got the razor clam - so good; pan con tomate was really moist delicious; and some fish - overall if you want authentic tapas in a very Barcelonian style where people dont really speak English - go there and enjoy the experience.

Yelp
This was one of my favourite meals in Barcelona. I came here with my cousin for lunch at around 1:30 and there were no tables open in the restaurant, so we opted to sit at the bar (which I usually prefer anyway). My cousin ordered some meat/fish dishes (maybe some sardines?) and we shared one grilled veggie dish, padrón peppers and patatas bravas. Everything was delicious. The peppers were the best we had in Barcelona, and the patatas bravas were up there too. I also really liked that you could order beers in many different sizes, so I wasn't stuck with either having a pint or a bottle. Service was very efficient and nice. Not overly attentive but we always managed to catch someone's eye when we needed it. Overall, a great spot for lunch and I'd definitely come back next time I'm in Barcelona.
google avatar

Nicole A.

Yelp
We stopped by on a Sunday evening (around 5:30) and were surprised that there was no wait at all. We just wanted a bunch of different tapas for our last night in Barcelona and this did not disappoint! My husband had the lemon beer (sweet like a shandy) and I had a glass of house white wine. We ordered bread with tomatoes, 1/2 grilled prawns, fried tiny squid, cocoa toast, and fried eggplant with molasses. The eggplant was our least favorite but everything was flavorful and fun to eat. It's a great value in a nice part of the city.
google avatar

Steve V.

Yelp
Legit, real deal, and could not be more typical Spain. Tasty tapas, cheap beers, great location. Nice servers too.
google avatar

Mari R.

Yelp
I have lived in Granada, Spain so I'm a bit of an expert in good Spanish food. We found this place on our travel book Lonely world. It's a small place but the food was pretty good. I wasn't a fan of the patatas bravas but the other 3 girls liked them. We had a house wine, sangria, fried calamari, tortilla was really good, they serve their bread with olive oils an tomato I loved it my other friend didn't like it.
google avatar

Lynne C.

Yelp
A bit tucked away from the gothic quarter but definitely worth the walk. Known for their fried and grilled seafood tapas, this place is BUSY. Literally all the time. If you go, don't come starving cause you'll be easily disappointed by how long you'll have to wait. My husband and I decided to just snag two spots by the bar and ordered the prawns, fried small squid (way better than calamari), some bread, beers, and the spicy sausage. Everything was an absolute hit!! The servers were a bit frazzled but what can ya expect when there's like twenty ppl trying to cram into your little restaurant and only one man serving everyone not at the bar?
google avatar

Brooke D.

Yelp
This place is a must! The meatballs, potatoes bravas and sardines are amazing! I'd highly recommend the cava sangria. They don't take reservations and usually are not super busy around 4-6. If you plan on going later in the evening, expect a wait, but it's worth it :)
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
This place didn't wow us. Service was alright. Not overly friendly but not abrupt either. The food was alright. My favourite dish was the padron peppers. Perfect! The razor clams were too gritty. I was spoiled from this morning's experience. The bombas were okay. My husband liked them better than I did. We also tried the anchovy with fried bone. Not bad. The free olives were actually pretty good. The prices were fair. All in all, it was A-OK.
google avatar

Jake C.

Yelp
Great food, you need to fight a little to get service but that's ok. Drinks are well priced as are the tapas.
google avatar

Matt K.

Yelp
Come here for standard tapas done well, for a reasonable price. This is a cool local spot in the Barceloneta neighborhood. It has a smaller bar area with a few tables, and a larger dining area the next block over. We came here around noontime (breakfast for us) and ate on the smaller bar side. Standard tapas and beverage options, but they were all prepared very nicely. A little heavy on the salt on some of the dishes (such as the pimientos), but this is definitely preferred opposed to not enough seasoning.
google avatar

Ali C.

Yelp
This place is the real deal. After coming up short at Somorrostro, we stumbled upon Jai-Ca. When we walked in, we knew we were in the right place, because we stood out like a sore thumb! We sat promptly at the bar and struggled with our terrible spanish, but it was a PHENOMENAL meal (sangria was great too). We got the cod fritters (highlight of the meal), fried shrimp (skin is on - you work for it, but these are goooood), bravas and mussels. A happy accident, indeed!
google avatar

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
Really great food and drinks here, and so close to Barceloneta beach. It's really just a good place to sit down at the end of the day, relax with some drinks (they have quite the drink selection) and good, local food. Seafood is easily their specialty, and they do it well. My favorite dish was their little fried shrimp and also their OLIVES which they give you when you sit down, no matter what you order. Very reasonable prices too which was nice!
google avatar

Miji K.

Yelp
Amazing food. Small fried shrimps, hams, meatballs, octopus, callos. Amazing taste and great price!
google avatar

Mary B.

Yelp
Must visit in Barcelona! Group of 4 visited for dinner and ordered many items on the menu to share. We ordered the fried squid, octopus, grilled vegetables, garlic shrimp, mussels, potatoes. The food was absolutely delicious and had excellent portions. The grilled vegetables in particular had the best red pepper sauce I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. We were very full by the end and the price was very reasonable. The service was a bit slow, but considering how packed the place was, it was worth the wait. Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves seafood and variety.
google avatar

Elaine K.

Yelp
This was the first real meal we had on our vacation, and what a start! Our server was incredibly friendly and was very good with my non-dairy-eatingness. We ordered the patatas bravas, meatballs and deep fried cuttlefish. Everything tasted incredible. The patatas bravas were the best we had on our entire trip... perfectly crispy and saucy without being heavy. The cuttlefish were cooked perfectly with a bit of a bite, and zero chewiness. The two of us stuffed ourselves with those three dishes (and some beer and wine). I'd go back here in a second.
google avatar

Sascha S.

Yelp
A great little spot to get lunch. You absolutely must order the papas bravas and the cod fritters. Both are great. Enjoyed a wonderful coffee and the waiter couldn't have been nicer. Unfortunately they have one server on 8 tables and the culture isn't exactly "rush rush rush"... so patience is definitely a virtue worth applying here.
google avatar

Teresa T.

Yelp
This place is a blend of locals and tourists. We waited roughly 30 minutes for a table on a random weeknight. Things move quickly here and the atmosphere is energetic. Ordered a variety of things but what stands out most are the jamon, fried eggplants with honey, and peppers. Good selection of beers. A fun place to get away from the tourist crowd.
google avatar

Chrissy N.

Yelp
This was my absolute favorite restaurant/bar that we ate at in Barcelona. Hands down one of the best meals I've had. The fiance and I were having a late dinner and thanks to yelp, found this awesome little place. The restaurant isnt huge and was totally packed when we arrived. We only waited a about 5-10 minutes for a table though, and that was great. Our waiter didn't speak a lick of English which we were totally OK with. That's half the fun, right? My Spanish isn't very good, but we made do. We ordered SOOO much food...probably too much food, but hey we're on vacation! The cuttlefish was the standout dish. Incredible. Get it. We were able to mime our way through ordering dessert off of a specials sign and it was great. Our waiter was so patient, funny, and nice. He laughed with us and we really had a great time. I will be back here.

Mike M.

Yelp
Went to this place based off a recommendation from our bike tour guide. Was happy we stopped in, for what happened to be my birthday dinner. The place was very small, took awhile to get seated, but was able to wait at the bar for the time. We were also able to order at the bar and eat there while we waited for a table to open up. Unfortunately, their sangria was my least favorite of the trip, never had a sangria made with fruit cocktail from a can. However, when it came to the food, I was very happy! We ordered the ham croquettes because of a Yelp review and that was actually one of my favorite things. I love seafood, so we ordered a bunch! We got an order of the mussels, which were very tasty. The fried small shrimp, which were mostly small, took a lot of work, but overall pretty good. We also got an order of the clams, which was a large order! Then we got the octopus since we've never tried it before. Was surprisingly good, but my least favorite of the plates I ordered. However, its definitely worth trying!
google avatar

Steven H.

Yelp
Not very impressed, some items were inedible, some had odd textures the prices are good and you better have a Catalan interpreter with you to order. One of the disappointments of all of Barcelona is the Catalans don't seem to like, bordering on hate, tourists. If you meet a friendly person it's almost a sure bet they're Spanish. So, put your thick skin on and ignore the attitude and enjoy the beautiful city architecture. There were a few good places to eat, this isn't one of them.
google avatar

Carly M.

Yelp
Awesome tapas! We arrived early for dinner like 7 but were famished after a long day of sightseeing. Got 4 plates and everything was great! The prawns were a little difficult to get out of the shell but service was good and staff was polite.
google avatar

Sanja L.

Yelp
Local spot. Gets packed but the wait is well worth it. It's a very delicious place for tapas. They have a large menu. All of it is great. I have no pictures to post because we are the food way to fast. The tomato bread, razor clams, potato braves, fried shrimp were soooooo bomb!! Absolutely recommend this place.
google avatar

William T.

Yelp
A very good, authentic (with a capital A) tapas place, that's bustling and serving food in rapid order with little pretense. This ain't a tourist spot and while you might appreciate the atmosphere and enjoy being away from the throngs of tourists near the Cathedral, also be prepared to have some working knowledge of Spanish - because they don't speak English here and don't give a hoot if you can't communicate. That's your problem. Delicious fried shrimp. The vegetable platter is great. Indeed, it was all simply prepared and good (except I thought the calamari was a bit tough). The house wine is a bargain. The atmosphere is like the Oyster Bar at Grand Central. The real deal, but if you want stone walls, candlelight, and violins - head elsewhere. Service is fine, but you have to flag them down. The price is right.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Five stars just for the razor claims! Found Jai-Ca on the Barcelona Eater 38 guide. It's a small space, but the staff is super accommodating and found us a table fairly quickly. Everything we ordered was amazing, the sardines, the croquettes. Also a good selection of vermouth. There were two bars. We were in the older smaller bar. It's all about the atmosphere.
google avatar

Christina A.

Yelp
Great food at a very good price. The place is quite small, but the atmosphere is very nice and it feels local. But you have to make a reservation! It's very popular.
google avatar

Kendell F.

Yelp
Great food. We had many tapas and the everything was fresh. Fish of the day was great. Small fish, shrimp, calamari and others were very good. Place was packed with locals. Service was still fast even though it was very busy. Highly recommended
google avatar

Nick N.

Yelp
Amazing experience! If you're in Barcelona you have to come here late night for some fresh razor clams and calamari!
google avatar

Holly E.

Yelp
It's Jaica time of year again! Sunny spring afternoons spent tapeando in a busy energetic informal bar that just has something special. Perhaps it's what we want the entire neighbourhood of Barceloneta to be like but this feeling only exists within these Jaica walls. Simple small plates to share with friends in a crowded yet relaxed environment, a perfect stop before/after a stroll along the beach!
google avatar

Kimber R.

Yelp
This place is amazing. The sangria de cava o vino is delicious. Every dish is better than the last. I can not recommend this place enough. And so reasonably priced. Cod fritters, peppers, fried fish, meat and cheese. Too good

Yelp
Walked by this place and decided to stop in as it was semi busy around 1930. Sat at a table and was ignored for at least 20 minutes even though multiple waiter and waitress made eye contact so they knew we were there. Waiters Walked by and served other customers nearby multiple times without even saying hello or a head nod. I gave the benefit of the doubt as half the place was full until I saw the waiter Pull out what look like a piece of broken plate out of a dish look around, walk away, and then come back a minute later and serve the dish. Left immediately after I feel sorry for whoever got that dish.

Yelp
Ok, listen up and listen up real good. Bar Jai-ca place is the real deal. Delicious tapas and Sangria at a reasonable price. We ordered the Boqueron, mussels, bread w/ tomato, and sangria with cava. Everything was excellent! Especially the Boqueron and mussels. The place is rather small and tight. It's popular, so it's usually crowded, but totally worth the wait. Oh! I almost forgot, we got the chocolate lava cake for dessert. Another delicious hit. Definitely drop by here for some tapas if you're ever in Barceloneta. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
A proper local spot. Jump straight in and stand at the bar because you're lucky to get a table, plus then you get to see all the food on display. The menu lists the food in Spanish, Catalonian and English so once you know what you want try and use the Spanish version as the staff don't speak English and will appreciate you trying to not be another monolingual tourist. The seafood is the specialty, in particular the octopus with potatoes which is very tasty if a little expensive. Three plates of tapas between 2 with a drink each was more than enough food and came €25, great value.
