Bar Louise - Review - Park Slope - New York - The Infatuation

"Park Slope’s 7th Avenue doesn’t have very many cocktail bars—almost as if someone decided that a neighborhood with more strollers than people would require fewer bars. But Bar Louise does the work of at least two bars twice its size. From the Pasta Louise team, this spot has a narrow dining room in the back where you can share a branzino with a friend, but we prefer the bar up front, where there’s floral wallpaper and at least one PTA president spilling board secrets over a bottle of wine. Order the lambrusco spritz and marinated olives, indulge in some gossip of your own, and if you get hungry, go for the deviled eggs, or the meatballs with vodka sauce. It's two blocks from Prospect Park, in case you need a post-park cocktail." - Willa Moore

Park Slope Italian Restaurant Pasta Louise Opens a Bar | Eater NY

"Opening this week at 221 Seventh Avenue near Fourth Street, I checked out the new adults-only cocktail bar from the team behind Pasta Louise — owner Allison Arevalo even warned, "This is not the place to bring your kids." It offers later hours and grown-up cocktails mixed with lychee, green tea, and rose petal–infused gin ($18 each), plus bar food like roasted onion dip, lasagna, and pigs in a blanket with wagyu beef (priced $12 to $26). Hours are Tuesday–Thursday 3:30 p.m. to midnight, Friday–Saturday 3:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday 3:30 p.m. to midnight, and there are no reservations." - Luke Fortney

After Seven Years, the Bronx Night Market Is Closing Permanently | Eater NY

"Planned to open in December, Bar Louise is the Pasta Louise team's third Park Slope operation in a space on Seventh Avenue between Third and Fourth Streets; owner Allison Arevalo says they are going for a 'retro Americana' feel with cocktails and wines and small plates like oysters, crostini, hot crab dip, and meatballs, plus great happy hour deals and discounts for teachers and hospital workers given the proximity to Methodist Hospital. I also note that Pasta Louise opened in 2020 and expanded in 2021, converting the original outpost into a provisions shop." - Emma Orlow

Came here with a girlfriend for drinks and aperitifs. I ordered a mocktail and she ordered an espresso martini. We had both ordered the tuna tartare which was actually incredible! It came with chips as well as bread and the tuna was so fresh and nicely minced. Not super thick which I appreciated a lot. The service was wonderful as they checked up on us frequently and I believe even the chef herself too if I’m not mistaken which was very kind! It has a homey feel with a Parisian ambiance which we adored. Will definitely be coming back!

A much needed high end cocktail bar in Park Slope! The cocktails were exceptional (!), but the food and atmosphere have room for improvement. Keep in mind, this review is based on Day 4 of being open, so small kinks can get worked out. With the exception of the octopus, which may be the best I've ever had, the food was pretty underwhleming. Given the owners experience with Pasta Louise, I'm sure they'll figure it out. Pairing down the menu may help, it felt ambitious for the space. The food prep area divided the space in a weird way. The front bar is pretty cool and has nice light and materials, but the larger back room is standard wall benches, tables, and chairs. Some nice intricate chandeliers, but otherwise a slightly mismatched ambience.

We came in with a very large party a little bit later in the evening. It was our Friend’s birthday and everything was accommodated perfectly. We ordered a lot of drinks and separate shots, and the bartenders were easily able to accommodate and cater to everything. Service was awesome as well and we had a really enjoyable time

Had such a lovely evening at bar Louise, excellent service delicious food and all around a great atmosphere to catch up with friends or share an interesting drink. Somehow the temperature is always right, and the volume of the music never gets too loud. People are respectful, well dressed, and I feel at home. All credit due to Naomi who let us through Delicious drinks and gave her best advice to cater to our needs. Usually asked off the menu, but Naomi suggested drinks that perfectly fit my pallet. Thank you again and will be coming back soon.

I had so much fun here on a random Sunday Funday! We had the most engaging bartender that made the most delicious cocktails. We let him decide for us, and he did NOT disappoint. Fun atmosphere, great music, yummy snacks. 10/10 would go back!! I’m not local, but every time I’m in town, we end up stopping in. Also love the original location - Pasta Louise!!

Beautiful cocktail spot in Park Slope. Went there for celebration and grabbed drinks and small snacks. The chips and nuts were great and so were the drinks. I got their version of an old fashion. Food/snacks: 5/5 Atmosphere: 10/5 Customer Service: 5/5

We went to bar Louise a few months ago and had decent food and drinks (although pricey). We went back with our baby and were told we had to put our stroller away, which is fine. I expected they would offer us a high chair as they wouldn’t let him sit in his stroller (even though it was 5pm on a Thursday and we were in their back patio-with plenty of space) but they said no we don’t have a high chair. I’m not sure how they expected us to sit and eat with a baby without offering a place for him to sit or allowing us to use his stroller. We were unable to stay and ended up leaving to find a more welcoming environment.

Yelp
What an amazing night! Me and my friend sat at the bar for some drinks and light bites. The snack plate was wonderful and the pigs in a blanket were SO good. Kristian was our bartender and was so welcoming. Walked us through the menu so kindly and made our experience memorable. He crafted the perfect~ martini and made us laugh all night long. I'll definitely be coming back soon.

Yelp
My coworkers and I came here after work after finding out that this bar opened in Park Slope. The outside is kind of unassuming - no big signs; but the place inside is super cute. It is more tighter in the front bar area but in the back it was bigger and had more table seating. My attending came earlier to get a seat for about six people - it was a little cramp but we all made it work. The staff was super friendly. I will say definitely come early but the place got really packed even on a Wednesday night. I got the pretty lady drink which was really yummy - it was rimmed with a sour sugar to offset the sweet drink. For food - we got a bunch of the small plates to try. -The chips and dip were solid - the chips were really yummy. -Snack tray: this was eh, but I'm also not a fan of olives but I would pass on this -Pigs in Blanket: Very good and cripsy as well. The sauce is very mustard-y so if you are not a fan then would pass on the dippin gi tin -Charcuterie Board: Also a delicious, but you really cannot go wrong with a charcuterie board. -Meatballs: This was relaly yummy - highly recommend this -Octopus: Also delicious Overall - great vibes and yummy drinks and food. Would recommend checking out this place if you are in the area.

Yelp
Such high hopes for this place! I stopped by tonight (a Tuesday) not busy the one bar tender was non attentive and manager seemed to be on a laptop at the bar, not a great look. Bartender did not greet us or introduce the menu. We ordered drinks with no suggestions or friendliness, drinks were good but later her friend stopped by and it looked like she ran through the whole menu and suggested a cocktail to her. Would have loved that service. Bar backs were great. Too bad the service was the problem here.

Yelp
First and foremost, as a local I really wanted to love this place... I'm writing to express my extreme disappointment my party's (locals) recent experience at your bar. The first time we tried to visit, the host was incredibly rude and informed us that there would be a several hour wait for just the bar. I decided to give your bar a second chance this month, but I was sorely disappointed. The food was disgusting and overpriced, and the drinks were ridiculously expensive. We ordered the Lasagna Roses which tasted "vomity" + the cheese and sauce were thick like paste and had a terrible texture/flavors; the octopus was gummy; the deviled eggs were so salty we required 2 additional water bottles for the table. The ONLY item we ordered that was tasty were the homemade potatoes chips. The drinks were pretty but overpriced for what you get. You could get better cocktails at other local bars for a much better price. To make matters worse, the staff was incredibly unfriendly and acted as if they were doing us a favor by serving us. Needless to say, we will not be returning to your bar.

Yelp
Love this place. The weather was amazing so we asked for a table on the patio out back, which was perfect. The server was helpful making reconnections for drinks. I wasn't planning to eat , but I was so excited about the octopus, that I broke down and got it. So delicious!

Yelp
Much like their other places, design and layout is over the top. The food is meh with drinks overpriced. My favorite is the obvious copycat of Don Angie pinwheel lasagna. Look it up. The folks at Don Angie will be asking for royalties for every lasagna flower sold. SMH. In any event, not a fan but I tried. In this instagram world, they've figured out how to build a business where the food is a secondary factor. Good for them.
