An Unforgettable Engagement Dinner at BAR-Ranch Steak Company We recently celebrated one of the most special moments of our lives—our engagement—at BAR-Ranch Steak Company, and it could not have been more perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming ambiance. The space is intimate yet vibrant, with a refined charm that makes it ideal for a celebratory night out. The team at BAR-Ranch went above and beyond to make the evening memorable, treating us with such care and attention that we felt like family. Now let’s talk about the food—absolutely outstanding. Every course was crafted with precision and passion, from the hand-selected steaks (cooked to perfection) to the thoughtfully curated sides and sauces that elevated the entire experience. You can taste the quality in every bite, and the focus on craft butchery and seasonal ingredients really sets them apart. What made the night even more special was the personal touch—whether it was the thoughtful service, the expert recommendations, or the genuine congratulations we received, it all added to a sense of joy and celebration. To top it all off, we captured a sweet moment outside their beautiful storefront, and it’s now a cherished memory from the night we said “yes” to forever. If you’re looking for a place to mark a meaningful occasion—or simply enjoy an unforgettable meal—BAR-Ranch Steak Company is the place to be. We’ll definitely be back.

This restaurant hits all the sweet spots. It offers prime cuts of meat but doesn’t have a stuffy atmosphere. It makes for a beautiful night out without being uncomfortably buttoned up. It’s easy to relax and feel welcomed. It’s a very small, intimate restaurant where you’re greeted by the owner. Great attention is given to the food, which we agreed was top notch. We dined in the evening and the entrees were various cuts of wagyu—all the highest offering. Sides were also delicious.

Best steakhouse I have ever been to. Great environment. Very intimate. Music is perfect volume. The chef came to greet and seat us. We were celebrating a successful business venture and they delivered. The recommendations were flawless. The sides I can still taste. The cooked perfectly. And everyone was so wonderful. Next time in town I will be back. I highly recommend

Spencer our chef and server for the night was so welcoming and kind. Our food was amazing! From the salad to the cheesecake, every dish was filled with flavor. My husband and I ordered the NY strip and it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. We will definitely be returning!

Joined a dear friend to celebrate her birthday. We were delighted to meet the owner and hear his story of the restaurant’s creation. We had the most flavorful steaks and the Brussel sprouts and potatoes were fabulous. Also try the Wedge salad, unique and so delicious. We will be back! Top notch everything, a gourmet’s dream.

I have eaten at most of the major steak restaurants in the city and many around the country. This ranks up there as one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The atmosphere sets the stage and has an old school feel, almost like a speakeasy. Spencer is the head chef and served us. There are only 6 tables. He was great and explained a lot of stuff about the restaurant, meat and various sides and desserts. They are able to accommodate a lot of dietary needs as long as you give them advance notice. We had the wedge salad, ribeye, potatoes and Brussels. Finished off with deconstructed cheese cake. From start to finish, every dish had a unique flavor and complemented every other paired dish. The wine pairing was also excellent. I could go on and on, but there’s no need. It was all spectacular and I’m already trying to figure out how to go back. Stop reading reviews and just make a reservation. It ain’t cheap but you won’t regret it. A great night out!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bar Ranch Steak Company, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment you step inside, you’re transported into a world that feels like a beautifully crafted nod to a 1920s butcher shop and steakhouse. The ambiance is warm, intimate, and brimming with character—think rich wood accents, a stunning view of the custom dry-aging room, and an air of timeless charm that sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. The food? Oh, it’s beyond amazing, it’s a revelation. Every bite bursts with flavor, showcasing the finest cuts of beef I’ve ever tasted. The steaks, whether it’s the melt in your mouth A5 Wagyu or the perfect dry aged Angus, are prepared with such care and precision that you can taste the passion in every morsel. The sides, crisp Brussels sprouts kissed with dry age tallow and bacon, creamy marble potatoes, you name it, are just as spectacular, complementing the main event without ever overshadowing it. And don’t even get me started on the desserts, they’re the perfect sweet finish to a meal that’s already a masterpiece. What truly elevates Bar Ranch Steak Company, though, is the service and the owner, Lane. He’s not just running a restaurant, he’s curating an experience. Lane greeted us personally, his enthusiasm for his craft shining through as he walked us through the entire journey of the food. He explained where each cut comes from (sourced from top-tier Texas ranches and beyond), how it’s meticulously dry aged in his dry age locker, and even how he built the place with his own two hands. You can feel the pride he takes in every detail, from the custom Argentine, wood fired grill to the very walls around you. It’s rare to meet someone so dedicated to sharing the full story behind what’s on your plate, and it makes every bite that much more meaningful. The service from the entire team matches Lane’s energy, attentive, warm, and genuinely invested in making your night special. They anticipate your needs before you even realize them yourself, all while keeping the vibe relaxed and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a VIP, but also right at home. Bar Ranch Steak Company isn’t just a meal, it’s a celebration of craftsmanship, flavor, and heart. Modeled after a 1920s butcher shop and steakhouse, it delivers on every promise of that golden era while adding a modern twist that’s pure genius. If you’re looking for an experience that’s as delicious as it is inspiring, do yourself a favor and book a table. You’ll leave with a full stomach, a happy heart, and a story to tell everyone about the magic Lane and his team have created. Hands down, one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had!

Celebrated our 16-year anniversary here tonight, and it was amazing! It was a unique experience in a small, intimate space with old-world charm. It actually reminded my husband and me of a spot we visited in Rome. The Wagyu beef was hands-down the best I’ve ever had, and the potatoes were just as incredible. Service was warm and attentive without feeling rushed. We highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Our party of five really enjoyed our dining experience at BAR-Ranch. It's a very small and intimate restaurant. We love the details and can see the love the owner has when decorating the space. The service was excellent. We ordered two of the two-person meals and then a separate steak for the fifth person, who only likes her steak medium to medium well, while the rest of us preferred medium-rare. The owner was there talking to us and after understanding our preferences, he simply said, "we'll take care of you". And he did. The food was beautifully presented and the steaks were so flavorful... they were perfect. Even the one steak that was medium/medium well surprised me. It was so tender, just incredible. We loved pretty much everything. The Caesar salad was terrific, all the sides were seasoned well and delicious. Yes, it can be pricey and maybe not for everyone, but this definitely was one of the best steak meals I've ever experienced.

Yelp
This place is a butchershop steakhouse in Downtown Plano. Finally went to try it after so many times of walking past it. It's quite small in there so not great for large groups. It's also a steakhouse so it's nothing too special. They do the cuts in house and it was good food. Our server was very nice and explained the backstory of the place. The menu is very limited and we skipped the appetizers. I swapped the potatoes that came with my steak for some brussel sprouts that were a little too charred. Also it kind of sucked that they had to do a slight uncharge for the swap. The brussels and potatoes were the exact same price on the side dishes but whatever. The leaves didn't keep together too well so it fell apart as they were cooking it. The steak wasn't hot either. I know meats need to rest before cutting but it was room temp which I don't prefer. My bf had a very juicy burger that was on the sweeter side due to the Dr pepper onions. It was very good though and the fries were extra yummy. Nothing extraordinary to this place but the food is good and the price is alright

Yelp
Welcome to a hidden gem. I wish I had taken more pictures. Pictures don't do this experience any justice. This was one of the most intimate dining experiences I've ever had. First off we were welcomed by Spencer one of the chefs. As we walked in there was a beautiful glass dry age room & just past that was a butcher room. It's like walking into a small New York eclectic steakhouse. Only a few tables and a small bar. One of the coolest parts is the open kitchen with a wood burning grill. The strip was my favorite. Lane the owner & creator of this little piece of steak heaven explained the way in which this restaurant came to be and the idea behind it. We had dinner for two that came with the sides & a desert. A wonderful bottle of wine was suggested, marbled potatoes, crispy Brussel sprouts, broccoli and brown buttered asparagus. We were then served a beautiful bread pudding. If you're looking to impress someone with a whole dining experience this is the place! Can't wait to come and try the lunch.

Yelp
The. Best. Steakhouse. In. DFW. Hands down. We have tried them all. I'm speechless. Every course was 10/10. I'm shocked that this restaurant is literally in our backyard. My husband made me choose between Eddie Vs , hillstone, and trulucks. We decided on something different with this place tonight and had blown me away. Thee best meal of our lives!!!!!!

Yelp
The entire experience was great! The owner greeted us and sat us at our table. He was an absolutely pleasure to speak with. We had the dinner for two and loved it! Great quality food with the ambiance for two. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
The service and food was amazing! It's a really cozy spot in downtown Plano and I feel like it's a hidden gem. We split the NY strip and Caesar salad and loved it. They make their steaks medium rare by default (recommended by them), but per request you can modify that.

Yelp
Love love this place! Great steaks, great food, and amazing service!!! This is a must if you're in the mood for steak. It is pricy though. Be ready to spend a lot.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday dinner, and it was such an amazing experience. I would even go as far and say it was a perfect dinner night for my husband and I. Steaks are beautifully done. Our waiter made sure to tell us how they prep and cook the steaks here. Please note that if you do not like your steaks on the rare side, this may not be the place for you. Small dinner menu, but I believe this adds more to the experience. Gaspar (I hope I'm spelling the name right) was amazing and super helpful when it came to the menu options and wine pairings. I don't think it's often you can say you got to meet the owner of an establishment and have conversations with them. It's definitely a more intimate dining experience, and I highly recommend coming here! Will be back soon!

Yelp
My friend and I had this place on our list to try for awhile now. Finally made reservations and came in. First off, reservations are definitely needed because the place has maybe 6-8 tables. And do not come here thinking you're not going to spend money. Between the two of us for our meal and one drink each it was over $400. The feel of this place is definitely cool in a different kind of way. It's very intimate, the service is excellent, the story of the restaurant is neat, and everything I believe is cooked in the hearth. The menu is either a la carte or you can choose from their dinner for 2+ option. They offer really nice cuts of meat. Everything was cooked great, taste was good. My favorite thing honestly was the crostinis. There wasn't anything super wow-ing about this place to really make me want to come back. The food was delicious, but I've had just as delicious food for way less money. Try the place out, but I've been way more satisfied at other places for half the price.

Yelp
If you a meat eater - look no further! Do yourself a favor book a reservation and come enjoy an experience. A small menu but packs an outstanding punch. The beef tartar was fresh and flavorful. The HUGE Tomahawk was Devine. Cooked to perfection and the flavor was the best I've had (and we raise our own beef)! The potatoes and mushrooms added another delicious level of flavor that only created a perfect meal. The owner took his time to explain his meat, why he chose certain beef/genetics and then showed us the cut that he went and hand cut. Our server Louis was a Gem! Kind, funny and great with recommendations and explaining different options. The restaurant itself is small but a wonderful atmosphere. Perfect for celebrating a special event!

Yelp
Colleagues told me they'd had one of the best lunches of their lives at BAR-Ranch. I thought that was a ridiculous exaggeration. Then I went to lunch. Small, intimate and quiet - all hard things to find in a downtown restaurant. I dearly love not having to yell at my dining companions in an attempt to be heard. I don't like prime rib, but still found myself choosing the prime rib sandwich after being reassured by the manager that the meat was exceptional. And exceptional it was. Prime rib is typically overly chewy for me. This was thinly sliced and delicate. Delicious! I ate half and took the other half home to my husband. He loved it as well. My side was truffle fries. The truffle oil wasn't overdone. The fries featured a dusting of black pepper, parmesan and garlic. I did not take half home to my husband.

Yelp
The best steak. The best vegetables and sides. The best wedge salad. The best dessert (bread pudding). The best wine. The best service! Everything was fantastic. One of the best dinners we've ever had. Lane is a true prince. The ambiance is perfect. What an amazing experience. The definition of a hidden gem. Cheers to the whole team at BAR-Ranch.

Yelp
BAR-Ranch is a must try! The food is all delicious and the service is excellent! You will have the best time! Make sure to make a reservation bc they do a lovely intimate seating experience.

Yelp
We came for the Saturday brunch. The service is efficient and friendly. Not to fussy yet there when you need them. There are only a few tables and with their crisp white table cloths they look elegant. We had several different things but my Prime Rib sandwich stole the show. It is all fabulous but I recommend the Prime Rib sandwich for brunch. It is fun to see into the open kitchen as you wait and eat. I always enjoy being able to see how good is prepared. In the tradition of great steak places there are fine pieces of meat aging in the window and the wine selection looks nice. Great restaurant.

Yelp
Typically won't review restaurants but the turn around in service made the evening and experience one to remember. There was a mixup from the reservation app, to dress code and expectation of the menu etc that could have derailed the evening from start. Chef Spencer went as far to recommend other establishments within walking distance but ask us to enjoy a comp app while we decide and truly just wanting to give us a taste of what he had to offer with no obligation. His willingness to create a custom dining experience kept us there and it didn't disappoint. The potato's left an impression and the steaks melted in your mouth. Every aspect of the meal shined down to the deconstructed raspberry cheesecake. Presentation was spot on and the atmosphere cozy but what really set the place apart from your typically high end streak house was the service from Chef Spencer at the table and in the kitchen. A special occasion meal spot but one that won't disappoint.

Yelp
I am a beef connoisseur. I think I've been to all of the major steakhouses in Dallas and have had A5 Wagyu at all of the restaurants that I could find serving it. I was on a long journey looking for a steakhouse that could break the spell that Hillstone's (f/k/a Houston's) Hawaiian Ribeye has had on me for the past 10+ years. Although I enjoy A5 Wagyu steaks, I don't love them like a prime ribeye (probably because I usually have difficulty catching my breath after eating it). I digress. My experience here: I was BLOWN AWAY. Like sail me to the Maldives BLOWN AWAY. The steak, the sides... everything. Just everything made me very happy. It's a small restaurant so it's an intimate setting. I ordered an appetizer and requested that the sauce be omitted because it contained pork. The waiter noted my preference and left. He then returned to my table and notified me that the chef considered my dietary restriction and decided to make the sauce without bacon. Mind blown. A chef modifying his sauce just to accommodate my dietary restriction? I dined at Uchi a couple of weeks ago and had really good A5 Wagyu and other beef dishes. Upon looking at their menu, Uchi cited that they partner or source (can't remember the exact term) from Bar Ranch Steak Company. I nearly dropped my chopsticks when I read that. I knew this place was the best steakhouse when I dined there, and my opinion was further buttressed after dining at Uchi. If you like steak, you MUST come here. Reservations are required, and at the time I booked my reservation (back in June 2023) a deposit was required as well.

Yelp
Overpriced! Not worth it. Meat undercooked and burnt at the same time. Red wine from the fridge. A bit snobbish like we know better how you want it. A disappointment.

Yelp
OMG PLEASE GO ASAP! The best steak I have ever had, the ambiance is perfect for a steak house, everything was the cooked and presented to perfection, we loved it all!

Yelp
If you are searching for a great date night option around downtown Plano, look no further and give Bar-Ranch Steak Company a shot. Incredible dining experience and the food was excellent!
google avatar

Sandy Z.

Yelp
I read previous reviews that the menu was over priced, but we wanted to check it out. Definitely overpriced imo. My steak was extremely rare despite asking for medium. When I alerted the owner, who was also waiting on the guests, he chose to school me on how steaks are intended to be eaten rare. Sir, I'm a native Texan, please cook my steak as I requested or don't ask when you take my order. Nice ambiance, only 7 tables. Steakhouses in the N Dallas area are abundant, not sure this was the one for me.
google avatar

Yelp
This is by far the best restaurant in all DFW area. The steak was the best I have ever had, the staff was wonderful and the ambiance is romantic and lovely! Can not say enough good things about Luis and staff as well as the service and quality of food. Worth the drive to Plano!
google avatar

Justine P.

Yelp
Small menu with great steak options. The food is very fresh and all had great flavors. Meat was cooked to perfection. We went during lunch so I got a burger and my husband got the ribeye.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
If you're looking for an authentic steakhouse where all the employees actually care and put effort into the food and presentation, this is it. The inside is small, so definitely not for a large group. My husband and I stopped by for lunch and split a caesar salad, a flight of meatballs with 3 different sauces, and the new york strip with a side of fries. The flavors of the meatballs were excellent, the steak was cooked perfectly, and the fries were exactly what I had been craving - perfectly thin, crispy, and seasoned to perfection. The chef puts a lot of love into all the dishes. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
We are from Oklahoma and have been wanting to try Bar Ranch for a long time. Managed to make it to lunch and the burgers were the best I have ever had. Everything was so fresh and the service could not be beat!

Yelp
Finally got to check this place out for lunch so I can try their Wagyu burgers and it definitely did not disappoint. Let me state the obvious upfront but this place is small. Only about 7 tables and you will sit close to your neighbors. This should not deter you from coming but saying this so you should definitely make reservations. We made reservations online and when we arrived the GM greeted us right at the door and walked us to our table. He explained the restaurant some to us and introduced us to the main staff there. This gave a personal approach and made you truly feel welcomed. Our table was right by the kitchen station so we got to chat with Chris (their executive chef) while we were ordering and sitting there. He's amazing and I highly recommend taking the time to talk with him and learn more about it. Now onto the food. For an appetizer we ordered the special they had which was their cheddar bread they typically serve with the bread bowl but sliced and then toasted to perfection. After toasting the bread they add two different types of cheese on top (hand torch it) and then add a Tapatio sauce with a candied jalapeño. When I say it was the perfect mixture of cheese with flavor and heat; it's an understatement. I ordered The Eastwood for my entree with truffle fries and it was just as I expected; amazing!! It's their signature dry aged Wagyu burger with habanero jack cheese, candied jalapeños, and an avocado salsa. I am not an avocado fan but the avocado salsa paired perfectly with the habanero cheese and candied jalapeños to help neutralize the heat you would expect. On top of that they complimented the Wagyu beef perfectly. It allows each flavor to have a place to explore in your mouth. Overall I highly recommend checking them out for lunch or dinner. Make sure to get a reservation ahead of time and come hungry. I will be back myself for dinner to try their A4 Wagyu steak on my next venture.

Yelp
Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing ambience. Definitely would go back and tell many friends to, as well. Wow.

Yelp
My partner and I went to Bar Ranch on 8/31 for a birthday dinner. Arrived early for our dinner and were treated to personal service as we were the only ones there at the time. Spencer was fantastic and ensured that we were walked through the menu in a comprehensive and thorough fashion. He was sure to pass along his recommendations as well which we happily took him up on. We ended up ordering a dinner for 2 option from an off menu steak option. It was an A4 wagyu, picking the potatoes and brussel sprouts as our sides, the tartar as our starter and the cheesecake for dessert. Everything was amazing! Exceeding my every expectation and hope when first looking into this restaurant. Service was stellar and the ambiance is intimate. A perfect place for a birthday or an anniversary which seemed to be the vibe of the other folks that eventually filtered in after us. I was sad when I started to feel full and knew our experience here would be coming to an end. I sincerely and earnestly look forward to next visit and would recommend this to anyone looking for a unique, amazing, and intimate experience with the best steak and sides I've ever had the pleasure to try.

Yelp
I was there for lunch and oh boy, it was a really good lunch. The wagyu chili was extremely tasty and the corn bread on top really complimented the chili in a very nice way. The ribeye was very juicy, soft and flavorful. Frankly, I enjoyed this ribeye much more than the ribeye from the legendary leona general store and the ribeye from texas roadhouse is no where close.

Yelp
Overall disappointed and I'm not very hard to please lol, we were informed that the waiter for the night wasn't able to make it, I believe it was the owner who subbed in to serve us and fell very short. A few major complaints : We noted it was a birthday which wasn't recognized at all, had to ask for a candle after the cake was served. We byob'd and the wine was never poured for us, we waited and waited and finally served ourselves. Waters weren't refilled when we finally asked they brought over a pitcher but didn't fill our glasses. We asked to get our food bagged up but the containers were never brought to us, only the check. After we paid we waited another 20 minutes for our to go bag and nothing at all.. finally had to ask and overall just felt ignored despite there only being 2 other tables. To top it all off every dish was over seasoned, our steak and Brussels sprouts were overly salty and carrot cake (their recommendation) too sweet There wasn't a highlight of our night but the interior was beautiful and although a small restaurant, the tables are properly spaced out. For being a steakhouse on the higher priced range, I had expected more, not even the basic was met in terms of service.
google avatar

Stephanie V.

Yelp
For the waiter to say that the A5 wagyu is like a krispy kreme donut that melts in your mouth is a little misleading given I have had actual melt in your mouth wagyu before. The wagyu here was a little disappointing with the flavor and tough texture. The other meats we selected shared a similar experience. Besides that, the appetizers, salads, and sides were all delicious and really rich but made the whole meal feel really heavy. Some notable favorites were the wagyu crostini, house spring mix, and creamed corn. I was really looking forward to the desserts- poached red pears and the torte cake- but they fell short. The pears were overly sweet and tasted like medicine (and now that I look at other pictures for comparison, portions were slacking!) and the cake (albeit beautiful) was just alright. Mikey Chen let me down... The presentation for all the dishes that were brought out was amazing. The service was excellent, our waiter was very patient and accommodating. The ambience was nice, though a little too dim for comfort... at some point I couldn't distinguish between the brussel sprouts and mushrooms on my plate. Overall, I think it would be a nice place to check out once. I would love to see this place thrive but I can't see it being sustainable for a long time, especially with the limited space.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant is an experience. If you ever wanted an exquisitely perfect meal -- food, service and ambience -- this is your place. Every detail of your meal is well thought out and executed. Limited seating may be the secret to what can only be described as an unrivaled dining experience. It is expensive, so take a good look at the menu before you go. Lunch may be a more affordable option. Hands down, best steak restaurant in Texas.
google avatar

Yelp
You have to make a reservation and place a $25 deposit in case of a no show. I like that concept as more restaurants should do it because many people cancel their reservations and restaurants suffer from it. The establishment is a small shop with a cooler for their meats, an open kitchen, and seven tables. Holiday music videos/slides were playing on the projector since it was December. We were celebrating our anniversary so they placed red and white roses on the table. Sweet touch. There was a card for someone's birthday who didn't show at another table. Keep in mind that there is no sense of urgency with the staff so plan to stay for at least two hours. We didn't get the drinks menu for almost 10 minutes and then the food menu at least another five minutes after they sat us. There is a prix fix menu: choose one of three steaks, one of three appetizers, two of four soup/salads, and two of four side dishes. It also said to choose one of three desserts but we were charged $15 for the cake slice and the server said he should have mentioned that to us. Pretty deceiving. They only offer beer and wines and the price range is quite far in between. They didn't have quite a few items we wanted (Malbec, Kansas City Ribeye, Red Velvet Cake, and takeout bags), but they were very accommodating otherwise. A meal for two starts at $295. The Tuna Crostini was spectacular as it was the total package - crisp crostini, savory tuna, citrusy dressing, and refreshing microgreens. My husband enjoyed his French Onion Soup because it "wasn't too salty like most places." My Caesar Salad was delicious with the right amount of dressing, parmesan, and croutons. They cook their steaks medium rare and that's how we like them. Apparently, they hand-feed their cows and are very proud of it. The Porterhouse was a thick cut and tasted decent but needed more salt and pepper. I can't say it was 3x better than most high-end restaurants, though. It was sliced in the back and placed accordingly on a silver platter so we could pick at the filet or strip. The steak was accompanied by a wine sauce, grilled scallions, and chimichurri stuffed sweet peppers. The best part of the steak dish was the chimichurri sauce; it was so good that we had to ask for two extra ramekins. The Creamed Corn wasn't spicy nor was it creamy but tasted alright. The Mashed Potatoes was pretty good. As a night cap, the Chocolate Cake was perfect. It was a massive slice that I could have devoured but had to stop myself. It was just as fantastic the next day. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and even the chef came out to check on us a few times. You can scan to pay but how would they know if you dined and ditched? Trust system is scary. It's definitely a pricey dinner so it might not be for everyone, but it was a good experience.

The food is amazing. I have a severe gluten allergy and the owner made sure my food was gluten free and delicious. Great service. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I came to lunch with a friend who had been talking the restaurant up to me for a few months and despite the hype they by far exceeded my expectations. The food was definitely the star of the show, the 800 day aged Eastwood burger was genuinely the best burger I've ever had. The beef patty was savory, earthy, and cooked to perfect medium. The candied jalapeños on top were the perfect pairing of sweet and hot, and I really couldn't have asked for a better flavor combination. Great portion size, amazing food. The staff was super friendly and proactive. Everyone including the chef were ready to talk about their favorite things on the menu. With the intimate seating it made the experience feel so casual and relaxed. I'm going to be getting lunch here anytime I have an excuse to.

Yelp
We came here last night for the first time for dinner, and everything was perfect! The food was delicious (you have to get the creamed corn). The ambiance was intimate and friendly. The service was top-notch. We cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
So all week I've been wanting Prime rib, I was searching the area on Yelp, Instagram and asking my clients. I had some things come up on Instagram and I saved them. Yesterday there was a advertisement for 25$ prime rib. When I looked again today it was $35. So I see they are closed until 5 so I wait around because the video on Instagram looked glorious. I didn't read reviews as I saw what I wanted already. I walk in, place was completely empty and there was only a couple tables so I asked if I needed a reservation. Instead I'm handed a menu to which I replied, I know what I want, I want the prime rib. They said they only have it for lunch. Once again, I'm the only one in there. They then re hand me the menu and point at the prices. They were quite expensive and they were kind and said that those were the prices for two and they could accommodate me for one. I said I came for the prime rib. Can I just get a piece? So no. I have to be there for lunch. So I wasn't going to pay 200-350 for a meal by myself, so I left. The advertisement said nothing about lunch only ect. It was not a great feeling. So I'm writing this down the street eating Prime rib elsewhere.

Yelp
We went to celebrate the selling of my childhood home. From the time we walked in we felt like part of the family. We were greeted and served by the HM and the chef himself delivered all of our food. What an impressive experience!! The staff at Bar-Ranch tailored our dining experience around an off the menu cut of beef that we requested two weeks ago. They made that happen and we couldn't be more pleased with the result. Truly unique by design and customer service that's unmatched sums it up quite nicely. Honestly can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with a buddy. He and I are kind of burger fans (even though one of us, me, shouldn't have them). But I have allowed my self a very limited number of 'cheat' days per month when I can go out and eat things I ought not. This place is worth spending a cheat day ticket. The place is really nicely set up with nice decor and easy access location. But enough 'ambieance'....the burgers were great! Done to our order. Nice proportion size (not stupidly large where a glutton would have trouble eating it all but very, very filling). Fries were perfect...I had to 'share' with my friend who ordered another side but wanted a taste of the fries...big mistake. Next time he orders his own. Based on the burger, I will come back to try out their steaks for dinner. They know how to cook meat and prepare sides. And, it is a nice walk in spot too if you are checking out old town Plano. Good folks, good service, value for money. Best of all good and flavorful food.

Yelp
Amazing steak... according to my husband best he has ever had and he's been to steakhouses all over the country. He would give 6 stars if he could. We went for lunch as dinner is fixed price and I don't eat that much. I ordered the prime rib sandwich with truffle fries and it was delicious.. took half home. Husband ordered the ribeye and was able to cut with a butter knife. Small place, no frills but great wine list and great staff.

Yelp
Thank you for treating my prom kiddo's like respectable young people. I know teens can be frustrating but they have to make that leap into the adult world at some point. The BAR helped them with all of this! They had a guest that was very late yet the staff treated them like any adult at their establishment. They made conversation, laughed and waited patiently for the late guest's arrival. They even gave them roses for their big night! Very appreciative for the BAR's willingness to help these young ones learn by example that kindness is still out there at places like the BAR. VERY RARE today! Will definitely, not only return, highly recommend to all friends and family! Food was amazing as well! My daughter can't stop talking how delicious it was! Filet and salad were AMAZING she said. Thanks again!!

Yelp
It's small and a bit chilly if you are seated by the door. Not impressed with the lunch.

Yelp
With only 7 tables, this place is focused on experience, quality, steak, service, and ambiance. The dinning room is shared with a glass view of their aging room. The kitchen is open to the room as well and you can see the love and dedication the chef puts into every meal. They use an Argentine grill with real wood fire to cook the food- there's nothing better than that. Every dish was great, we had 200 day dry aged meatballs, each coated in a unique sauce. Steak was cooked perfectly. Fries were the best I had in Texas. And the cakes are purposely displayed ... and totally worth it

Yelp
What a unique experience. My husband and I went on a triple date to celebrate our friend's birthday. You had to make reservations and there is a $50 reservation fee per person. Now there is a pre set menu where you don't get to choose your cuts anymore. We were looking forward to the tomahawk but they didn't have it. Also we were disappointed to find out only one desert choice..... The truffle mashed potatoes and chili was fire. The cuts were medium to medium well. It was okay at some parts but toward the end it got chewy.... We wanted medium rare. Great company but the food was not worth the money.

Yelp
We had an absolutely amazing dinner at BAR-Ranch Steak Company in Downtown Plano! We highly recommend this as a must visit restaurant. If you are looking for a relaxing ambiance, great service, and a variety of prime and prime plus beef cut and aged to perfection this is where you want to go! Their 4 course meal and excellent wine options is outstanding!

Yelp
Overall food, service, and ambiance were amazing. We enjoyed speaking to the owner and taking his recommendations. Excited to come back and try their more informal/less pricey lunch menu. We enjoy supporting small, local businesses. You can definitely feel the love & care that goes into both the dishes and client experience.

Yelp
From the service to the food... perfection. Nice intimate steakhouse with only 7 tables, however, they have a bar by the kitchen where we were able to come in as a walk-in on a Friday night. Highly recommend.

Yelp
My daughter and I chose to dine at this small restaurant, in downtown Plano, for lunch and were pleased with our choice. The restaurant is very small, with only about 7 tables, and provides for a comfortable yet polished dining experience. I imagine it's exceptional at dinner. My daughter had the 15th Street Prime Burger with Truffle Fries, which I did taste, and it was a great burger cooked perfectly. I had The Ranger, a bacon wrapped filet, which was also perfectly cooked medium and had a wonderful flavor. We also had the Brussel Sprouts which had a nice char and great flavor. The service was great, attentive but not intrusive. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. We definitely will go back!
