Reyna Review - Union Square - New York - The Infatuation

"Reyna, a Toronto import near Union Square, calls its food “Mediterranean fusion," so you'll discover Turkish, Greek, and Spanish touches in dishes like their signature lamb shank baklava. We tend to prefer their seafood plates—get the crispy octopus on a bed of green harissa sauce and salmon tartare with lemony labneh that will remind you of lox and cream cheese. The large dining room is filled with teal and light pink velvet seating and a very long white marble bar—the dim lighting and low-key music make Reyna feel like a lounge, so come here for drinks and small plates when you want to make dinner your whole night out. Don’t miss their fun bathrooms, solely lit by “Your kiss is on my lips” and “Mine is bigger than yours” neon signs. " - Kenny Yang

You Might Actually Want to Eat at These New NYC Clubstaurants - Eater NY

"Reyna, an import from Toronto near Union Square, specializes in Mediterranean rim food with a unique ambiance featuring pink ostrich feather lampshades and spindly trees. The menu includes expensive appetizers like Turkish manti, lamb baklava, and diverse French fries. The paella, although well-furnished with seafood and chicken, had a bitter aftertaste. Showy cocktails like King Arthur’s concubine add to the experience." - Robert Sietsema

Went on a valentine’s date to Bar Reyna. And I am really glad I did. We had a great time - the place was very cute (but the music a bit too loud), the service was very good (special shout out to our amazing server ABC!). The food was also very good - i am still drooling over their Lamb Baklava, which was one of the most tasty and interesting dishes I’ve ever had. The meat dishes overall were quite good, and the greek fries were delicious too. Sadly i was not so convinced by their calamari (a tiny bit overcooked, but still good). Will definitely go again to have those sweet&savoury lamb baklavas (and try other dishes!)

Shakshuka was great! Fries were almost cut like potato matchsticks or shredded-style hash browns (very thin). I still liked them but mentioning for those who are particular about their fries! Enjoyed it with an Estrella beer (beer in bottles, none on tap). They have plenty of cocktails on the menu which seems more their vibe but they do warn that it'll take some time to craft, naturally. Very friendly service. Our server was bubbly, chatty, and attentive. Enclosed patio in the back with lots of natural sunlight and space heaters. Having said that, it is still drafty/chilly and not evenly heated, so dress accordingly!! It was about -10C outside on our visit and my feet got quite cold by the end of our meal. The restaurant wasn't terribly busy so all patrons were on the back patio. They also have seating inside the main part of the building (where you first enter off Cumberland) but I saw blankets so I imagine it can be drafty inside too. Would return but maybe on a warmer day!

I've been here many many times, food is always good esp. the fries!! The vibe here is mediterranean? , i like how the restaurant has this unique concept/theme throughout, in its menu and display. Today our food was served late and when it came out there was a hair on the salad, but they replaced it with a new one. It does get busy on the weekends, so you need to be patient for your food to be served!

Quick and efficient service! Loved the drinks here—highly recommend the French Pornstar if you’re into something sweet, and That One Time, In Italy for a unique twist. The food was delicious; the grilled octopus and picanha beef are must-tries. Only note is the food tended to be on the cooler side, but overall a great experience.

Went to Bar Reyna for brunch and had a great experience. The food and service were good, and the vibe was really cozy. They also had very good coffee!

Came by for brunch on Father’s Day. We ordered the Reyna salad, lamb shank Benny, salmon board and Greek fries. The food was generally okay, but something I noticed is the hot food arrived a little lukewarm. The cold dishes also weren’t as flavourful as we would have liked. (I’ve previously been here recently for dinner and recall that being pretty delicious. So, I wonder if it’s just the brunch items needing some work.) The food aside, the back patio was very comfortable and the table service excellent. I booked a reservation expecting a crowd based on past experiences, but the restaurant was surprisingly empty for a weekend brunch.

I'm so in love with this place! The vibe of the hidden patio is EVERYTHING and service is amazing! Food is amazing and its a must try for a nice drink and a bite! Shootout to our server Daniella that made my espresso martini exactly how I like it tho , she was a sweetheart.

Google
Had the pleasure of visiting Bar Reyna for the first time during their happy hour. It was a lovely experience from start to finish! We enjoyed the Arabic fries, salmon tartare, and falafel. What’s nice about their happy hour is that you can order both from the $7 happy hour menu as well as the full menu! All three dishes were delicious and a good size for tapas-style sharing. The falafel was a little underwhelming but still very tasty. I also enjoyed that they had a good selection of mocktails as someone who doesn’t drink alcohol. Service was quick and attentive. The lights did get dimmer and the music louder as we got further into the evening, so be prepared to compete with some background noise. We were seated in the back of the first floor, it was very cozy with heaters overhead for some extra warmth! Looking forward to returning to Bar Reyna soon to try more of what their menu has to offer!

Yelp
Came here on Valentine's Day since all of the other restaurants were booked out and was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. There was a couple of empty tables on the first floor but the host led us to the second floor, which was completely empty! The restaurant has a great, romantic atmosphere with dim lights, candle lights on every table with flowers. Most of the menu is shareable plates and the portions looked small online so we ordered 8 dishes between the two of us (ok - wow, now counting it out that sounds like a lot!). But, that did leave us more full than comfortable so I think 4-5 dishes would be fair for 2. 1. Arabic Fries 4/5 - These came out very quickly and are one of the most unique fries I've ever had! They have this very thin, unique shape that makes the fries both taste light and airy, but still crunchy and very flavorful and well seasoned. I also enjoyed the ketchup that came along with. You get a lot of fries with this order and I kept gravitating towards it and picking away at it throughout the meal so I would recommend this and get it again! 2. Crispy Calamari 2.5/5 - Forgettable calamari, I didn't like the crust compared to a traditional calamari, it wasn't crispy. It felt doughy and honestly a little bit gritty. I did like the sauce that came with but the vessel to enjoy the sauce was def lacking. 3. Lamb Baklava 2/5 - The order is only for one portion, so if you want to get 2 of them - you'd have to order this item twice. This was our least favorite item - the sauce was overpowering, we didn't like the meat inside and the best part was the crust which wasn't coating enough of the large piece of meat inside. Would not get again. 4. Chargrilled Octopus 5/5 - !!! SO GOOODD !!! our favorite part of the meal, the octopus was so tender and cooked to perfection. I really liked the sauce that came with it, the chips, it was delicious!! I wish there was more of it. Would recommend!! 5. New Zealand Lamb Chops 3/5 - Very average lamb chop, not a very juicy piece 6. Lebanese Tacos (Chicken) 3/5 - I thought the flatbreads as a replacement for a taco shell was great, I don't particularly like this as my flavor pallet but it was the most filling taco. There was tons of stuffing and was a huge portion. 7. Manchego & Cauliflower Croquettes 4/5 - So creamy, cheesy! Crispy on the outside, fried to perfection without feeling oily. Would recommend! 8. Scallop & Blood Orange Crudo 3/5 - Normally a huge fan of scallops in all forms, but the cracker they wanted us to put the scallop on was extremely salty. Couldn't really taste the Blood Orange flavoring on the Scallops. There was only 4 small pieces of scallop. It wasn't bad but wouldn't get again. Overall, this restaurant has a great vibe and the food is really delicious! One of my favorite places I've tried in Toronto.

Yelp
Bar Reyna is a nice casual dining establishment with limited downstairs seating and a spacious upstairs area. We were seated by the door where the seats were a little wonky, looks like one chair leg was taller than the other. The music is also on the louder side. We came in time for happy hour and the hummus was mediocre. The Kiwi Margarita was good but it was too much on the spicy side. The Reyna salad was good! The calamari was good as well but had very small portions. Don't recommend coming if you're here for dinner but okay for drinks.

Yelp
Bar Reyna was a restaurant that had long been on my bucket list to try out, and finally, I had the opportunity to do so. I made a reservation through OpenTable for a party of 5 on a Friday night. The dining area in the back of Bar Reyna was not only beautiful but also exuded fantastic vibes, creating an enchanting atmosphere. However, as the evening went on, it did get a little too dark to comfortably read the menu, so keep that in mind if you visit in the later hours. While the restaurant was moderately on the expensive side, the portions were on the smaller side, but the flavours were absolutely packed with deliciousness. Every bite was a culinary delight that left a lasting impression. A must-try is the MONTADITOS - MUSHROOM DUXELLE. We couldn't resist trying several different varieties of drinks, and they were all delicious, with a selection that satisfied our taste buds and added to the enjoyment of the evening. Our server was simply amazing, and I must say, the owner of the restaurant is bomb dot com. The personal touch and warm hospitality made our dining experience truly exceptional. In summary, Bar Reyna is a must-try, at least once. The enchanting atmosphere, delicious flavours, and top-notch service make it a standout destination for a memorable night out. Don't let the moderate pricing or smaller portions deter you; the overall experience more than justifies it. It's a place that deserves a spot on your own bucket list.

Yelp
Intimate is how I'd describe this place - I would not come here if I was starving but it was a good place for small sharing plates. The best bang for your buck would be the dips and the fries. We came in a group of 4 but everyone around us was on a date. We were seated a bit later than our reso so we got dessert on the house, super kind and friendly servers. The hummus, halloumi skewers, spanish fries, and labneh were delicious and everyone enjoyed.

Yelp
This place was lovely! It is located in one of the best neighborhoods in town and has such a lovely ambiance! The menu was quite large and diverse considering it is a tapas style menu. The cauliflower croquettes were lovely, as well as the Lebanese tacos. We also got falafel and Spanish fries which were full of flavour! The one word that comes to mind when describing the menu is: unique I am definitely looking forward to returning here again in the summertime when the patio opens up

Yelp
This place is probably good for a drink, but definitely not if you are mainly looking to get food. I found that the staff were pretty rude and we had to call them over several times just to order. Additionally, the food was very basic with small portion sizes, and wildly overpriced. The bill ended up being around $35 per person and I left just as hungry as when I came in (after splitting 5 dishes). Again, the vibe was good for drinks and chatting, but definitely would not go here for the dining experience.

Yelp
Always a great night. Servers are lovely and the music is on point! Got two different cocktails. They were beautiful but not really my jam. The fires are always a winner! Mmm these were the Italian ones. The ceviche was nice and I really liked the cauliflower bravas. But hands-down if you go here what you must get is the lamb baklava. It is out of this world! It sounds really strange but the saltiness of the lamb meat with the spices and then the crispy pastry and then the slightly sweet sauce that's on top is unreal. For dessert we tried the ricotta fritters with an orange blossom sauce. They were nice but really sweet so I don't think I'll fantasize about them later. Also prepare your soul the ceiling is so beautiful!!

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Service: 4/5 I went there for my friend's birthday. This is place cute and cozy. Food was great and delicious yet it was bit slow. Great place for a date or small intimate gathering with friends. Recommended. I would love to try this place again when the patio is opened.

Yelp
Went here knowing that the portion sizes would be small and more like tapas style. Some dishes were bigger than expected and others were extremely small like the one lamb shank for $10 and it turned out to be only 4 bites. I'd say don't go here unless you're looking to grab small bites and drinks with friends. The quality of the food was superb and there was not one dish we didn't like. Service was quick too and attentive.

Yelp
Walked into Bar Reyna on a Saturday night on a whim. It was moderately busy. They've got some interesting cocktails as well as some signature ones. We tried a mezcal based cocktail that didn't seem balanced; it was heavily smoky and sweet, completely lacked acidity. The other cocktails we ordered were more basic, like a Moscow Mule, but tasty. We also tried their Spanish fries which were actually more like Hickory sticks with a couple sad dried up chorizo crumbles on top. They tasted fine but just didn't live up to how they were advertised on the menu. The inside is decorated with a luxurious feel and the clientele was pretty mixed, some people dressed super casually and some looking like they just exited a club. Washrooms are up a flight of stairs. The service was intermittent and it didn't seem like any one person was assigned to us so we often felt forgotten about. I don't think I'd go back because the experience was decidedly "meh" which didn't match up to the fancy look and pricing of this place.

Yelp
Probably one of the cutest patios in Toronto. Bar Reyna is tucked away in Yorkville and has a beautifully decorated patio with lanterns and plants all around, resulting in a warm and cozy environment. A great place for a date! I went here for brunch the other day and shared a couple of dishes - Lamb shank Benny : an interesting twist on a benedict, and honestly not what we were expecting when we ordered it. There is a portion of lamb shank served on a fried chip on a bed of Cauliflower rice. Quite a lovely taste and the lamb didn't taste gamey at all, which was a pleasant surprise. Portion was quite small, however. - Baklava French toast : would highly recommend this dish! Not overly sweet (which is a nice change from 'traditional' brunch dishes). It is served with a lovely orange blossom sauce and vanilla ricotta. Not to be missed! Would also recommend making a reservation as it does get busy during brunch hours on the weekend

Yelp
Super cute patio and the staff are cheerful and nice. The patio has a convertible rooftop so if it rains, you're good! Also if it's windy, it won't be in the patio because of the nook it's in. All the food we had was very picturesque and goes with what your expectations are of yorkville. However, I'm only giving it 3 stars because the Mediterranean dishes didn't seem overly authentic and landed on the blander side. Things I'd order again: Lebanese tacos ($20 for 2, we added an additional taco as there were 3 of us). This was light, airy, and well balanced flavour. Lamb baklava ($7 per piece). Fresh Prince cocktail (it's like a pina colada but with pear and kiwi in addition to coconut). Light and refreshing. Things that coasted through the middle: House dip with labneh and caramelized onions. Things I would NOT order again: Halloumi souvlaki - incredibly bland. Tasted like cardboard. Calamari - I love calamari but this too fell short on flavour. The batter was crumbling off and the calamari's texture was so soft it was almost mushy. But my friends thought it was just alright. Things I'd order if I came back: charred octopus, rack of lamb, lamb meatball pot pie.

Yelp
First visit to Bar Reyna back in October 2019 was superb. I've always wanted to revisit and here we are in August 2021 and my second visit wasn't the same. The dishes were underwhelming this time around and didn't really wow us. Grilled prawns were probably the highlight of the night (and I specifically visited for the lamb baklava and Lebanese tacos). 5 stars for the amazing service. 5 stars for the cute ambiance. I'll probably revisit Bar Reyna just for the drinks (or maybe try their brunch menu next time).

Yelp
Really like the hidden patio out in the back - it's a really nice feature and I like its intimate and cozy vibes. There are so many lounges that are really hyped up but fall short on their food. However, Bar Reyna's food and drinks are actually pretty good. My favourite by far was the lamb baklava. Very creative, very tasty. Wish the portions were bigger though, especially since it was $10 for two pieces of lamb baklava. We also got the calamari and Lebanese tacos. Both were also really good. Prices were on the higher side unfortunately. For dessert we got kaffir lime and saffron baklava. Very pretty and decadent dessert, although my stomach felt weird after eating it. Drinks were really well done. They weren't watered down like so many cocktails out there. My favourite is the P.S. I Love Me.

Yelp
Food is always amazing, service is out standing and love their drinks! The thing that keeps drawing me back is the vibe of the back. It's a slice of heaven that makes you forget that you're in the city. Very boho chic, cozy and overall, one of my fave spots in the city.

Yelp
Inclusive. This bar-restaurant was very eclectic. Although it was listed under "Spanish tapas" there were many other global cuisines available! Very cool vibe. Trees indoors and closable roof. Very friendly staff. We had a wide variety of items from the menu. Lamb Baklava is a must. I think my second favorite was the ceviche. The cauliflower was also delicious. Would have preferred thicker fries, date ketchup was good though. The shrimp was very awkward / full shell, so not a first date choice unless you're ready to be savage. Overall, lots of cuisine choices and a very inclusive feeling.

Yelp
The beat dip was very delicious, we had to refill the veggie cuz the whole table really enjoyed it. The restaurant was quite empty the whole time we are in, yet we somehow had to wait a bit before we got seated. Still confused why.

Yelp
The Baklava French toast looks and for the most part is average but the yellow sauce is actually what makes all the difference. For a savory option I tried the short rib grilled cheese & it was good. Felt like a homey thing to eat in this cold weather -- I'm kinda curious about their lunch / dinner menu so I might revisit I loved the patio - it was definitely my favorite part Staff were very friendly & cooperative

Yelp
The food was overall impressive. Service was pretty good. Cocktails were incredible. Highly recommend coming here for drinks. The indoor patio is perfect for the winter months and very beautiful/feminine. A perfect venue to come with girlfriends.

Yelp
We took a mother-daughter trip to Toronto and came here for Drag Brunch and it did NOT disappoint!! The show was hilarious and the Queens were so nice and social. The owner of this place stayed to talk to us after the show and could not have been nicer!! All around the food, ambience, and experience were a 10/10. Do not miss out on the shakshuka - SO good!!
google avatar

Yelp
Really yum food! The menu was a bit limited and food sounded alright but as soon as it came out, it was so yum!! Totally recommend all the lamb dishes. Quite pricey - 75$ for a lamb rack but sooo good. The baklava lamb was an interesting one at 7$ a little circle. You can probably pass on the fries. The octopus was done well. Grilled with a nice savoury sauce. Presentation was great and drinks were strong and pink - just like how I like it!!

Yelp
Short and Sweet: Delicious spot for Mediterranean tapas (small portions)! $$$ The Long Version: I stumbled upon Reyna before a meeting and got lucky with Buck-a-shuck Tuesdays from 4-6. Delicious, small oysters from PEI. Their housemade seafood was pretty delicious too. I also ordered the Halloumi Souvlaki from the tapas category of the menu, so it was a light dinner. Very good, none the less! Amazing burst of flavours, the Turkish salsa felt like home, but boogie? Ahaha The halloumi was grilled and seasoned well. It was a build your own mini taco-style presentation. You got 3 round grilled flatbreads accompanied by the salsa, tzatziki and chopped parsley. Price was on the semi- expensive side but it's an upscale place, so you expect it. The decor was nice, the lamps looked like colanders, which was pretty and set a nice dim atmosphere. Great playlist and it wasn't too loud. Bathrooms were clean. Service was attentive and kind. The seating host was especially friendly. Highly recommend trying it out! I'm hoping to get some of their drinks next time :)

Yelp
Decided to try out this spot for a date night last week, and my boyfriend and I overall enjoyed our experience! The tapas were yummy and the dining space had a great atmosphere, with super cute decor. We started off with the beet and cashew tzatziki, which was delicious and super flavorful and refreshing! I also really liked the flat bread it was served with. Next came the Lebanese chicken tacos which were topped with a garlic aioli, pickles, and a Turkish salsa. All the flavours worked really well together and I loved the crispy onion topping as well! I also thought the tacos were quite large and a pretty good portion size! We also ordered the Spanish fries which were super crispy, topped with Manchego cheese and chorizo. Super delicious, especially dipped in the chipotle aioli. The whole grilled Mediterranean Sea bass was next, which was quite good as well! It was deboned which was nice and the flavors were good. The last dish that came out was the lamb meatball pot pie. I was a little disappointed because it came out 30 minutes after our previous course. The wait was long, however they did rectify this by not charging us for this dish. I liked the crispy shell of the pot pie, and I thought the tomato filling in the pie was good, however I was not a fan of the actual lamb meatballs. My boyfriend and I both thought they were a little bland, and not very well seasoned. Another issue I had was that the dining space was technically outside with a tent covering. There were heaters on when we first arrived so the temperature was perfect, however about halfway through the meal, they turned off, so I was shivering for about 45 mins. Overall, I thought food was very good at bar Reyna, and with the exception of a few little issues, I had a very good experience here. I would come back again!

Yelp
I've only seen positive reviews and beautiful pictures for Bar Reyna that I ended up being left surprised by how things ended up. We booked a reservation in case there was a line up for Saturday brunch. When we arrived at the restaurant, our host showed us to our table. To our displeasure, we were given the darkest seat in the far corner of the infamous "Instagram worthy" back patio. To add to the situation, my boyfriend had to sit right below the heater, causing him to be, as quoted: "a baked potato". Our servers were quite friendly though. I'll give you that. They also took our orders, which happened to be the Shakshuka and the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. Next came the extended waiting period. We kid you not, the waiting for our food was pure agony. It took about 40 minutes from time of ordering for our plate of food to arrive. They could have at least brought us bread or something. The wait for our meal was not justified by its taste at all. I did not enjoy the Shakshuka. It was very sour and the portion was tiny. The short rib grilled cheese had miniscule amounts of meat in it. It was served with ketchup. I felt as if it was something you could make at home. The dessert definitely saved us. We ordered the apple crumble cheesecake. It was very interesting and had a lot of textures going on. I liked the cream paired with the apple slices. It was a great way to end the meal. Based on the value and food I received, coupled with the extremely long wait, I was really disappointed with my experience here.

Yelp
Ugh... WILL NOT RETURN. Where do I even begin? We came here on the hunt that there was an awesome happy hour from 4-7pm. CANCELED. It was also Tuesdays Oysters starting at 0.50cents a pop starting at 4pm. We arrived for 5:30pm and they were sold out at 4:30pm the wait staff said. The hostess could have told me at the beginning before getting seated. Then the happy hour wine special, my friend was seated exactly at 6pm, put in her order of the wine glass special for $6 and was told her order was punched in at 6:05pm so the order would no longer apply at the happy hour price and no exceptions would be made with the wait staff fairly adamant about that. The wait staff - revealed that they're lacking in service attentiveness nor patience and understanding. We stayed for the short ribs (unspectacular) for $16 and the calamari, while the chickpea breading was interesting, also not worthy of making up for the negatives and poor introduction to this restaurant. The one star is for the garden patio and how pretty it is. I compare Bar Reyna to a super hot dude you meet but when you start digging for more depth, there's nothing there. #HarshButTrue

Yelp
My friend suggested meeting here for dinner on a Wednesday night. In Yorkville, Bar Reyna looks very unassuming from the outside. We walked past it a couple of times before Google Maps helped to orient us. The restaurant is narrow with a large bar at the front. Definitely ask to be seated in the back. It's very cozy and you feel as if you're sitting in someone's backyard. The ambiance was quite nice too. We were able to have a conversation at a normal volume (I can't even remember if there was music in the background). Service was good considering it was only 2 servers helping all the tables. As for the food, that's where Bar Reyna loses stars. The menu is Middle Eastern inspired with hummus, Lebanese chicken, and falafel making their way into the menu. We found the food to be quite salty and many of the items that we ordered seemed to be drenched in sauce (yummy sauce though). We ordered: chorizo, zucchini fritters (very bland), calamari (this was good), tacos (nothing to write home about), and Cornish hen on a skewer (great presentation, but extremely salty). I would like to return to try their brunch in the summer for the ambiance alone. Good for: drinks, dinner

Yelp
IT'S HALAL (to whom it may concern). On to the review: Yes, it has a really cutesy type back patio with the type of service that you'd expect from the number of dollar signs associated with the restaurant. Our server Kwee was great. But what really matters is how the food is (at least to me). And honestly, I don't want to bother writing a long, detailed review about it because - well - "it's nothing to write home about". We got: - Lamb Baklava (best thing on the menu): 8/10 - Tacos (chicken): 6/10 - oyster mushroom skewers (they couldn't keep it on the skewer): 4/10 - Greek fries: 6/10 - white negroni: 6/10

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Sunday with reservations. We were seated in the beautifully decorated heated patio. FOOD: Spanish Fries ($10.00) I loved the cheese and chorizo on top of the thinly cut fries. Snow Crab Benedict ($18.00) Their hollandaise sauce is so delicious and extremely buttery and complimented the sweet snow crab! Definitely will be back to try put their dinner menu.

Yelp
Fun place and we sat on the back patio which has a great atmosphere (and a very sticky floor). Food is a bit pricey, but all of it was great.

Yelp
I came here for my early birthday with my girlfriends, a party of 3. We came on a Saturday for brunch and got the back patio seating where it was heated. The atmosphere was very cozy, warm, welcoming and they provide a throw in case it does get cold, which I loved. The food here was delicious with flavor and an interesting menu. This place isn't the cheapest brunch place and it's not a bang for your buck - so be warned. We ordered the garlic fries - they were really thin with a lot of flavour but it almost felt like we weren't getting full off of them. French toast which was really tasty, soft and the sauce wasn't over bearing but complementary to the French toast. Dungeness crab Benedict - would not have thought it would be good but it was heavenly. Sauce was just enough and wasn't smothering the bread. The crab was actually really good pairing with the eggs benny. (Forgot to take a photo cause it was so good and we were super hungry). Salmon board - I cannot express how much I love smoked salmon and all of the things that came with it. Great to share but definitely not a bang for your buck. I feel like you could remake this at home but nonetheless it was delicious. Caramel cream puffs- a great little way to end the brunch.

Yelp
This is a decent find for brunch in this neighbourhood. I think there was deli in this spot before they closed shop or maybe they were next door. Anyway reservation was easy and done through opentable. There is quite a bit of seating in this place as they have the patio in the back sealed up for the winter. However we ended up seating up front as the bitter cold was seeping through in the table we were assigned first. On to the main I ended up with a shakshuka as that seems to be a staple dish in most brunch spots in TO nowadays. The other person ordered a french toast. Shakshuka is OK though I have had much better. OK serving size with a generous side of bread. French toast was visually appealing though the bite I had was not life altering by any means (laduree' you have spoiled it for me with your immaculate take on french toast). Service is decent and at this price point one can do a lot worse in this area for a lot more :)

Yelp
I've been meaning to check out Bar Reyna for a while now and finally had the opportunity. I met friends for brunch and I really enjoyed it! From the moment I stepped through the door I was greeted with a friendly smile and warm welcome and that set the tone for the rest of my experience. That's the vibe of the place, really positive energy and fast, friendly and efficient service. From being seated immediately and the check-ins by our lovely Server with a smile to make sure we were ok with beverages or interested in appetizers while we waited for our friend to arrive, to ordering and having the food served fairly quickly. Kudos to the staff! They were attentive and just really nice peeps! Ahhh, the brunch menu. My Friends and I were very satisfied with our meals. Not a crumb was left on the plates! The portion sizes were just right for us and tasty. Tips for anyone interested in brunch: Make reservations. We had reservations for 11:00 am on a Saturday. It clearly is popular because it filled up quickly. They have group seating so that's great if you and your crew want to do brunch and then slow stroll through Yorkville. As for accessibility for those with strollers, crutches, bad knees etc, the space is more narrow than wide and there are a number of steps leading up to the restaurant entrance and the walk through to my seat was very narrow. I would definitely phone ahead too inquire about your needs before you go. Overall, for my first visit, I had a great time and I will definitely go again!

Yelp
I wish my experience at Bar Reyna was better, but sadly I am giving a 2.5/3-star rating for this place. The "secret garden" at the back is cute, but given its open top nature, a lot of dead flower buds from the trees around it was constantly falling into our food and drinks. Annoying to say the least. Speaking of the food and drinks, it is quite over priced. While I certainly understand we are in Yorkville and that it is a pricey area, the price-to-taste ratio is quite low. A lot of dishes we ordered tasted "just ok", and yet we are paying top dollar, not to mention that the portion sizes were quite small. For example, for $26 we got only 3 tiny lamb chops, and a mediocre tasting cocktail is a whopping $16. Ouch! Definitely needs improvement or a price cut before I'd consider coming here again

Yelp
I recently attended a birthday dinner at Bar Reyna with a group of 12 individuals and it was one of my most pleasant dinner experiences in recent memory. Given the size of the party, there was a price fix menu ($60 per person) in place. Normally, this is reason for concern since your options are limited; however, Bar Reyna's price fix menu offers the following: 4 snacks, 4 appetizers, 4 entrees, 1 dessert - more than enough to get your taste buds excited! My highlights from the dining experience include the Lamb Baklava (must have), Tuna Tartare and the tacos (chicken). Though this is more of a sharing style tapas joint, I guarantee you will be full before you even get to the entrees section of the price fix menu. The cherry on top is the sea salt caramel puffs, which come with vanilla bean ice cream. This is a must have even if you are ordering off the normal menu. Overall, Bar Reyna was a memorable dining experience in the heart of Yorkville with high quality Mediterranean fusion food, efficient service and reasonable price, especially relative to other options in Yorkville. This is a must try!

Yelp
We sat in the back, it is such a cute spot and felt like we were outside on a cold day but next to heaters with blankets to keep us warm. Saturday brunch was made to perfection! As usual, I asked my server what her favourite option was and went with her suggestion, sometimes it pays off to ask what to order because 'Croque Madam' was so unique, filling and delicious! I've never had anything like this before, typically I'm not a huge fan of smoked salmon but every bite was tasty. The plate had lots of different components to it, and it paired so well together from the capers to the salad with pickles! Loved it all! We started with the frites and those were cut into shoe strings with chorizo, really great for sharing! My GFs were also impressed with their cocktails and meals. I'd recommend this spot and I'll be back.

Yelp
I love coming here for drinks. Sat at the bar and had a couple of French Martini's. French Martinis are made with vodka, chambord, and pineapple juice. For our second round we asked for a bit more pineapple juice in the drink. It was hopping busy in here but not too bad, we had our own place at the bar and service was beyond excellent. Go early for a spot. Drinks are awesome. Great vibe. Left one star out as some of the other drinks we wanted we couldn't have as they ran out of the ingredients - it was still early in the night.

Yelp
This is a cute little bar tucked away in Yorkville. Wanting to get a drink and small bit to eat late in the afternoon, this place was open and relatively empty (it was before the huge evening rush). We sat at the bar and it's got that classic, vintage DIY kinda feel (just check out the decanter light fixtures above the bar) We ordered wine, and they only do fries in the afternoon (we went around 4pm so before dinner crowd). Their fries are the kind that i love - super thin and crispy and so flavourful. They have 5 spice varieties - Spanish, Greek, Arabic, Italian and Portuguese. Each have their own unique spice profile and they make their own ketchup. I ordered the Arabic ones - with za'atar spices and homemade ketchup. Delicious - great for a snack - once you start popping them, you can't stop. They have a pretty big patio out back (which of course we only discovered after we had finished and did a little exploring). It's covered, but I'm hoping in the summer it's an uncovered patio! I'm definitely coming back here to enjoy a few drinks, snacks and that beautiful patio! Bring on summer!

Yelp
This was my first time going here and it was a cute little place, small little patio and two-storey restaurant in Yorkville. The weekend brunch menu is small with a handful of dishes. For once, I was craving something sweet so I tried the Baklava French Toast (Baklava crusted challah bread, orange blossom, vanilla ricotta, candied pistachio). I really enjoyed it because it wasn't too sweet as a lot of the other French Toasts I've had. I liked the crust as it added a nice texture to the dish. I definitely would have this dish again! The 2nd dish is a Snow Crab Benedict (Pain de mie, snow crab, burnt lemon aioli, poached egg, brown butter hollandaise, herb salad). The crab was fresh and lightly season. Although they used a lemon aioli, I thought it could've used a bit more salt and lemon to bring out the different flavours in the dish. The dish was very refreshing but nothing special. -- Overall I wasn't overly impressed, the place was cute, service was good but nothing special that would make me want to come back. Maybe only just to have their French toast!

Yelp
Bar Reyna'd been on my radar for a while thanks to their unusual menu, so I was excited to sit down and try their brunch offerings. I wasn't disappointed. After trying to decide between the Qatayef Pancake and the Breakfast Spanish "Poutine" I finally elected to go with the latter (because who can say no to anything with the word poutine in it, am I right?) The dish, which is described thusly: "shoestring fries, chorizo chunks, manchego, fried egg," is actually quite impressive to behold, as it arrives as a mountain of shoestring fries topped with the aforementioned egg and littered with chorizo pieces. It's a very, very tasty dish, although I think calling it a poutine is a little misleading. Though it comes with a small bowl of a zesty dipping sauce, it's actually a very dry plate of food. But the quality of the fries and chorizo compensates, as does the perfectly cooked egg sitting atop the whole thing. I do have a couple of complaints, though: I was disappointed to note that the dish didn't arrive at the table hot, as though it had been sitting there for a while before being brought over to the table. Also, the whole thing is incredibly salty; between the salty fries, the salty sausage, and the salty cheese, the dish really could've used something to cut through the salt. (Maybe some kind of hollandaise or other breakfasty sauce?) Still, despite these issues, I did enjoy my meal and I will certainly be returning to try some of the joint's other offerings.

Yelp
Went here last month with my wife and my business partners wife, who wanted to try this place out. We thought, "Hey! It's also in Yorkville...it must be a great vibe and overall experience". Boy were we wrong. Something just doesn't sit well with me when you walk in, nobody greets you and everyone is in a somber mood. Judging by the mediocre and expensive food it felt more like a concentration camp than a bar/restaurant. Next!

Yelp
"I feel like it looks better than it tastes" What time we arrived/Wait time? We went for lunch at 1:30pm on a Thursday. We made reservations and got a sweet table on the patio in no time. Really nice hostesses! Atmosphere? The atmosphere is beautiful! Inside and out! The patio is probably the best part honestly. It's so creative and just magical. Service/Staff? The service was awesome. The server was super patient and kind. She was soft spoken and didn't come around to interrupt too often. The service was quick and efficient. She always made sure to top up our waters and was just really sweet all around. Food/Menu? We ordered the Lebanese tacos - they were an interesting flavour. I personally thought it tasted very strong and it's an acquired taste. I can see it growing on a person but it came out a bit cold and wasn't appetizing. Then we got the Spanish fries (apparently the greek and Spanish fries are the 2 most popular ones)... so we got that and it was great! The fries are super unique and thin and we loved munching on those. Comes with cheese and chorizo on top as well as a chipotle dipping sauce. Next we got the mussels on toast. That was good as well, but it wasn't warm when it came out and started to taste less good as the meal went on. The food wasn't as good as we expected but the atmosphere is for sure what we'd come back for.

Yelp
Cute little hidden spot in Yorkville, their patio is beautiful and food also really good!! You can't come here without trying their lamb baklava's which are OUT OF THIS WORLD. We had to order a second plate since everyone was fighting for the last piece. The halloumi dish was also good but don't know if I would get it again. It didn't impressed my tastes buds since it was only cheese on bread wi Didn't like their famous Greek fries at all. They were too oily and flavourless. Tacos were okay. Come to this place and try their baklavas, nothing else to say.

Yelp
A unique small space tucked away on Cumberland next to a parking garage. Very warm atmosphere. Good service. All the dishes we had were very tasty and flavourful. Mediterranean spices prevail. Some items (calamari) are perfect for sharing. Others portions (short ribs) were a little small. Prices are reasonable.

Yelp
This is a cute spot in the Yorkville area. The service is nice and attentive. I went with a group of 7 so we ordered a bunch of things. I found that the sauce for every dish is what really made it taste good, compared to the actual food itself. The zucchini fritters were pretty good, the Greek fries with garlic aioli and the Spanish fries with chipotle were good (was excited about the Spanish fries cause of the chorizo but wasn't as good as the Greek fries forsure!). We tried the Lebanese tacos which were pretty good, as well as the octopus which I'm not usually a fan of but thought were great. Then we got the burgers....which were cold when we got them. So we all weren't the biggest fans, plus nothing special. But our waitress was nice and she spoke to the manager and we got our choice of dessert which was nice of them. We got the salted caramel dessert as well as the bread pudding, both of which were pretty good (the bread pudding tasted like apple pie which I loved!) At the end of the day this place was alright, nothing special especially for how expensive it can be.

Yelp
I've wanted to try this place out for the longest time and I've had it bookmarked on here for months! All I have to say is that I'm glad I came, it is the most beautiful, coziest bar I have ever seen, and it is decorated so beautifully, it looks like the restaurant every pinterest inspired restaurant aspires to be. Besides the gorgeous ambience, the staff members were incredibly friendly, especially our server who was an absolute sweetheart. As pictured, we went with their famous fries and they were very tasty, next time I will most definitely get a few other items like salads to share.

Yelp
Based on my first impression of the customer service, this place was notably horrible. We walked into the place and we were not received or treated with respect. Instead, we were treated as intruders. Nearly minutes after hovering near the entrance, someone noticed we were not served and approached us. We were given seating in the patio with warning that the table needed to be given up by 6:45pm for a reservation. I must admit, however; that the customer service was exceptional after being seated. Overall, the food was good, but the customer service is very inconsistent throughout the place. * * * Pictured is the "Italian Fries" ($10+tax).

Yelp
I never give a 1 star rating to any place as I feel no place deserves a 1 star...however, the hostess gave me no choice but to go on Yelp and give them a 1 star rating due to her extremely poor and unprofessional service! Let me explain...I arrived around 3:45pm on a very nice sunny Friday and asked to be seated on their "secret patio". I kindly asked the hostess for a table for 2. She quickly said there was no space as they were fully booked.. I said sure.. I can wait.. She then said, oh it may take an hour or so as they needed to clean the tables since they had a large group that just left. I said ok? I can wait till you are ready. She kept talking out of it with an attitude to make me sit inside! I felt unwanted and I'm not sure why... They were advertising for their happy hour between 4-7pm so they should expect people to come in between these hours so what went wrong? No idea. I'd like to hear back from the management team if they do read these reviews. I work in the Yorkville area and I now understand why no one recommends this restaurant and ends up going to Cibo and the nearby restaurants that provide the service expected in Yorkville.

Yelp
Located in the heart of Yorkville (and not too far from Carole's Cheesecake!), this Mediterranean tapas bar is nice and intimate without being overly swanky, which means you can show up in a suit & tie or jeans and a t-shirt, and you'd fit in either way (in terms of mood and vibe, it finds a good balance between casual and nice-enough-to-take-a-date). We visited (as a group of four girls) on a Thursday evening, and it was incredibly busy. Even if you plan on coming here on a weekday, make a reservation. Service was nice enough, though it did slow down once they got busier. Overall, the food was tasty, but portion sizes varied by dish. We ordered the following: Stuffed Falafel, Zucchini Fritters, Crispy Calamari, Halloumi and Brussels Sprouts, Lebanese Tacos, Reyna Salad, Arabic Fries, and Spiced Labneh with Pitas (I know... we were hungry). Overall, the food was tasty, and had nice depth. The Arabic fries were on the saltier side, but crispy and delicious. The standouts for us were the Reyna Salad (great textures and a multitude of ingredients), Halloumi and Brussels Spouts (very interesting and tasty), and the Lebanese Tacos (great depth, and a nice earthy flavour). Overall, not a bad spot in the area for a date or a small group dinner. Beautifully decorated. Keep in mind that the atmosphere is quite intimate, so tables are close together and lighting is quite dim. With tax and tip, we paid around $150 (no drinks).
