Bar Schimmi

Sooooo I’m having a great time at this bar the music is great and all. The space is lovely. And the service is good for the most part. Only thing that really pissed me off. They had a leak in the ceiling. We were wondering what was dropping it decided all in our face hair and drink. When asking the bartender for another drink (keep in mind I must got my drink) because drips kept falling in my drink. She said there’s nothing she can do because a trash can was there. It wasn’t there when my friends and I were drinking. Colina specifically refused to help me out despite all the drinks I already bought.

They scamming ode, Atleast tell people that the front door does not have access to the whole club, if you enter the second door you pay the same price but have access to everything and the entire club! yet both of you paid the same so we should have the same experience and equal accessibility... Makes no sense! Then charged $20 for a tasteless frozen drink, literally just colorful crushed ice.

I came here with my girls to dance on Bad Bunny night. We got in around 11; the music was good. Go to the bar for a drink: Margarita $20! Like what?! It would have been acceptable if it tasted like alcohol, but no, it was water and sugar. And this was not the frozen margarita. So then, around midnight, we realize the DJ is playing the same songs repeatedly as if Bad Bunny only has one album-.- like BRO! We left because that felt more acceptable than paying $5 for a bottle of water after paying a $10 cover.

This place is a whole scam, avoid if you can. There's no tap water at bar, only $5 bottles of water. Gratuity is automatically added to the overpriced and watery drinks. Djs playing same round of songs after a couple of hours (on Beyonce night?! Come on). Racist coat check would not accept my friend's picture of her ticket that she lost. When she was humiliated and forced to empty out her bag, she finally found the physical ticket, and the attendant THREW her coat at her. Never going back here again.

The music is right and they have two separate areas so if you are looking for a different vibe try the other one! We went on a hiphop night and the music was A1. Drinks are ok, probably overpriced like every bar in New York but definitely go for a nice night of dancing!

Picky and choose of who can pass through the sides. Keep in mind that both sides of the warehouse have different vibes and different music. We got tickets for both and were told that we could only stay on one side, aka the door we came in. What’s the point of hyping the fact you could pass through both sides????? Very misleading.

Great vibes my party of 3 was told $20 after we parked and got to the door we was then charged $30 each cover charge then water was $5 bucks and they automatically add a tip 😒 other than that I like that there's 2 sides playing different music so you have your choice I will go back

Not a good place to have fun! Used to be good but poor quality bouncers and workers messed it all up... They kicked me out for talking to a lady. Excuse me!..... Spend your hard earned money elsewhere! There are plenty of good bars and clubs elsewhere!

Oh I absolutely got my shimmy on at Bar Schimmi. The music was bumping on a recent Friday night and the large disco ball splashed the room with reflective light + energy as my friends and I gallivanted across the dance floor. My mood was certainly buoyed by the White Claw I enjoyed from the bar, which moved fast, the bartender handed my drink to me with a smile, and served me as many cups of water as I asked for. All of this ease was likely due to the fact that the bar was half empty, so I'm sure the experience is overall less pleasant when it's busy. For now my memories at this bar are filled with having ample space to flit around the dance floor, oblivious to the world around me.

Went here on a Saturday Night on a whim with a pretty large group. We had to RSVP online to get in for free before 11:30pm. They honored this so that's a plus (honoring your word is a bonus these days). However, they did ask for a shit load of information just to RSVP. Since we got there early, we were in line for maybe 5 minutes. But later in the evening the line wasn't moving much and the cover was $20. They did a thorough body and bag pat down/check, which I guess is good, just unexpected. The crowd was probably 3 or 4 dudes to 1 lady and mostly Black folks in their 20's. The DJ was good, but I did feel like he was playing too much 2000's rap for this crowd and not enough trap/modern rap. He eventually got to the dancehall/afrobeats, which is what was advertised. Typically when Afrobeats or dancehall is playing it's really simple (cultural) to dance with strangers, but not that night :/ On my way out, I realized they had a few other rooms (one was more of a rave). It's cool spot, I'm sure they have other nights/DJ's, I would recommend to people but with a preface of everything I just wrote.

Theme night: Beyonce night. Feedback below: 1. There's no tap water here, only $5 bottled water. 2. The DJ's played the same songs over and over again. 3. Drinks are pricey and watered down. 4. Coat check: When I showed the attendant the photo I'd taken of my coat check tickets, my photo ID, pointed to my fur coat & sweater hanging up behind him AND told him my initials (which he wrote on his copy of the coat check tickets), he still refused to give me my items. He called his manager, who upon review, still wouldn't give me my items, made me empty my bag, and proceeeded to THROW my items at me once the tickets were found. I felt humiliated. I verbally shared the incident with two security guards. I will NEVER come back to place again.

I went to this Bar after a work event (that should be understandable since it is still the holidays) just to continue my night and hear some good music. I had purchased a bottle for my work event, they only had wine; didn't want to leave outside or throw it out so the bouncer took it. I told him please give it back to me once I am ready to depart (said it ever so kindly) He says okay, upon me leaving I'm asking can I have the bottle back he tells me that he gave it to his boss and his boss is not going to give me back my bottle unless I give him $20 extra dollars. WTF kind of money hungry shit is that ?! I already spend about 40$+ on drinks in the event now I have to pay you $20 for something that is mine that I already opened. First he like he threw it out in the garage then he talking about his manager NEEDS $20 for him to come back downstairs to give me my bottle. Hated that this happen because Reggae Gold was LITT shout out to the DJ's Clearly management is money hungry that's apparent !

First time on this side of the club, didn't even know it had a different name we came here because of a 90's pizza party. For the party it ended up being all u can eat pizza & u got a ticket for one beer or soft drink, I had the Brooklyn lager beer can't go wrong good beer. Pizza was provided by Fornino's it was Margarita & it was not bad, would have been nice if they were hotter but ahh not bad over all. After my beer I switched to White claws since they were having a promotion & were on sale for $6 dollars why not, mango flavor is very good, they had the white claw reps giving out bags not too bad. as for the party the music was great all the great good hits u knew & loved at some point the party itself unfortunately was a bit lacking it was not a packed house. This was a bit disappointing since the music was so good but oh well on a Sunday it's hard am sure to get a day party going. Small location , decent set up , overall we had a good time.

Let me tell y'all about yourselves real quick. This is a direct complaint for DJ Fahad. I am in no way trying try to be candid. You can find me @CheyMillz on IG if you want a face to the case. THAT MAN NEED TO THROW HIS WHOLE TURNTABLES AWAY. If you don't quite understand what I mean I'll repeat myself. HE NEEDS TO BE STOPPED. NEVER. In my entire life of going out and also shooting for other DJs have I experienced someone so inexperienced at reading a crowd and transitioning between songs that made sense. There is zero reason why someone from my own party had to go on stage and assist Fahad with his own set. Just for us to even have a crumb of a good time. The entire venue actually emptied out after he got on the tables. No one was dancing. Literally no one. He needs to start back at square one. FOREAL foreal. Bro I need you to go back to the basics and learn tempo, what songs follow a mood, and how to Transition between tracks. TRANSITIONS THAT MAKE SENSE. DJing is not just throwing on whatever. You need to understand your audience, the tone of the crowd, and how to control that. You are the conductor of the crowd. There is no reason why i should be fantasizing about a pandora playlist while in the middle of the club because I'm nearly positive that it would be better than your set. Do. Better.

Worst bar I've ever been to. The staff was beyond rude, especially the female bouncer at the front who grabbed my wrist to take my pepper spray (which I didn't fight back about) leaving me with a bruise and a scratch the next morning. As a bouncer, your job is to protect the customers not harm them and she did the exact opposite of what her job was to do. If this bar knows what's good for them, I hope they seriously consider her terms of employment. You just lost 11 customers that you will NEVER get back and left one injured from your employee's very poor judgement.

Overly priced drinks. ‍ The bartender was charging me 6 more dollars for a drink my cousin had gotten which was labeled under frozen drinks on the happy hour menu, when asked why she charged me more... she legit answered ... " I have no idea why it's more " lmao. Come on now. I was there for my birthday celebration on Friday and it was just decent. Had better experiences else where with better bribes drinks and not so confused bartenders.

Bottom Line: To be fair, I came here for a Brunch Event, but I enjoyed the food and the location. Mimosas were a little lacking. Atmosphere: I came here for an event. They had a space eat brunch w/ a bar and some tables, and then there is another room where they can play the same music that is a dance floor. I loved the intimate setting and that it had to ability to expand into a much bigger space- kudos to that! Food: I THINK the food was from the place for the brunch. but hunnnnayyy it was SO GOOD! I thoroughly enjoyed the food here... and it's "different" not your typical brunch food. I had jerk shrimp with lobster grits. MMMMM. Mimosas: They had bottomless mimosas for $15--- they were gross. That part had me wishing I never ordered them. I don't know whether it was the champagne or the OJ, but it tasted like watered down Sunny D. Overall the brunch was fun :)

Came here for Bad Bunny night. Although I heard some songs by him it was still a random mix of songs. I was expecting strictly Bad Bunny like other places would do. Cover change was $20 for women . The Asian male bartender was great and very attentive! The female one was not she just kept ignoring our corner so good thing we moved. Very inconvenient that you can only order hookah at the DJ area which is by the dance floor. The womens bathroom was very nice and when I went there I saw on the other bigger side they were doing an emo night which was wayyyy better than the bad bunny side. The Bad bunny side was so crowded and hot. But the emo side was spaced out and I could actually feel the AC. We were able to comfortably sit on a couch and even the dance floor was spaced out too. I don't know why they wouldn't switch sides for the bad bunny event.

Came here with a group of friends for the venue's new weekly event: "Feel Free Thursdays" which is located at the bar section of the venue. Note: There is multiple sections for this venue as I've been there for brunch and parties, it's pretty big. There is a happy hour from 9PM-11PM, as pictured. We got there around when Bar Schimmi opened and while being there they had about three different DJs. Music was diverse old school hip hop and r&b and of course current music as we played Jenga and connect four since it was also game night. Overall It was a cool night.

Came here for mixxy brunch for my cousin birthday. We originally was just here the day party but we got there early enough to grab a table. The brunch menu is pretty simply. Major downfall is that they don't have a bottomless brunch. Bottomless is key for a amazing brunch. I got the wings & fries & mimosas. The food was amazing. The fries taste like McDonald's fries. The drinks was pretty good too. The day party was litt. Gets super crowded like any litt party. The DJ was amazing. && it's also a nice place to take some bomb ass photos.

So this is the bar area connected to the Schimanski night club. A good space to find unique hipster hop parties. I went here two nights in a row this past weekend and each time the crowd was vastly different. Friday Night: Shapes Party - crowd late 20s; early 30s super diverse crowd with immaculate hip hop mixing. Sat Night: complete tourist trap with top 40 hip hop and a couple ratchet tracks thrown in here & there. I have to say both nights were equally fun. My only downside thus far is the drink prices: $16 for a Jameson Ginger!!!!???? Nope. This is NOT Manhattan. Drop those prices.

Pretty good music, but I dislike the fact that I had to pay $15 for watered down tequila and cranberry.

lolz srsly? $16 for a well drink and $9 for a regular Tecate?! Not even a tallboy. The DJ was alright and the bartender was nice enough, but I didn't find anything special enough about this place to warrant those prices.

This place refuses to provide free water at the bar, which is illegal. Not even a little CUP of water after my friends and I all bought drinks. They only offered bottles of water, for $5. The staff were apologetic but their management clearly sucks. Never going back. Also the place was almost completely empty... why wouldn't they want to try to keep what few customers they had? We left.

As a Brooklyn native, I've been wanting to visit this spot for a while....So one night I came here for a soca/reggae party. There was good vibes (no shadiness) and good dj sets. It easily reminded me of the Manhattan night club scene (when that was a "thing"). I would have given 4 stars howeverrrrr the bartender (and I'm using that title figuratively) was very very rude to my friend and I. He bought rum punch which tasted like watery hi-c when asked if we can switch it out because these $18.00 drinks had about 4% alcohol in it..his response was "if you tip more I'll add more alcohol"...then he condescendingly walked away. A huge "phallic symbol" move!!! Determined to enjoy the night we left it alone. This was our first time here and luckily the music made up for it...later on in the night we went back to the bar and got a few drinks from a completely different bartender and had a better experience. I would definitely return.
