Seattle’s Hottest New Bars, Fall 2024

"Fine dining pizza meets even finer cocktails at Pioneer Square’s Bar Sosta. Unabashedly upscale, this new concept bar comes from the same folks behind Il Terrazzo Carmine next door. Whether or not you’re in the mood for a full dinner here, it’s a gorgeous spot to stop for a drink — white marble countertops and birdcage chandeliers draw the focus to neat shelves stocked with an impressive array of liquors and wines. But to truly bask in the luxury, try the Jungle Bird with aged rum, Campari, pineapple and just the right amount of brown sugar." - Brianna Gunter

Bar Sosta - Review - Pioneer Square - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Though Pioneer Square doesn't have a whole lot of upscale Italian places, there's no need to go out of your way for Bar Sosta. We'd be fine messing around with a glass of wine and a passable margherita pie in the white marble-inundated space only to avoid the divey pre-game bars in the neighborhood. The pizzas have a tasty chew and the salads are nicely dressed, but you should pass on the gummy and flavorless lasagna, unless you’ve never had a hot airplane meal mid-flight to Italy and are curious what that’s like." - Aimee Rizzo

We had a Negroni and an Espresso Martini while waiting for our dinner table at the restaurant next door. Both drinks were delicious and hit the spot! Friendly staffs too!

One last stop before leaving Seattle. Loved the vibe and food options. We shared a quick bite and a drink. Specially love their open windows and their fire pits. Made it feel nice and cozy. We had: - Baked Ziti - Negroni - Prosecco

Food is super overpriced and incredibly mid-tier. They were out of one item we ordered, despite the place being empty. The arancini was dry and had nothing inside of it. The chop salad came with different ingredients than were listed on the menu. They played depressing music the entire time we were there. Absolutely pass on this. This place has high reviews because Intermezzo used to be here and it took over the space.

Very nice menu that is tasty and priced well. My husband and I shared a fig pizza $28 and chop salad $18. Excellent! The salad was very fresh and the dressing was good and homemade. The pizza has did, goat cheese, and prosciutto on a cheese base. The crust was perfectly cooked. Simple menu. Highly recommended.

Wonderful place for lunch (And dinner which I’ll be coming back with my wife). The place is designed in such a way that place a smile on your face the second you enter. Now for the food, we had the Arancini, Grilled Green Salad, Tagliatelle Basilico and the Mezzelune. The Pasta is hand made, which you can feel for yourself, and all the tastes are very good. Highly recommend especially on a sunny day when the porch is open.

Wow... after 40 years on this earth, for the first time, I have actually left slices of pizza uneaten rather than take them home to have the next day. I don't know what they're doing wrong - maybe the temp of the oven, or they don't have a pizza stone? But yeah, this was Not Good. Too soft in the middle and too crunchy on the outside. The hostess shrugged and said "sit anywhere," the busser took forever to find us, the waitress didn't know what the only 2 white wines were (the menu called them "italian white" and "international white" and both were a mystery to her) and the egg white chamomile cocktail had chamomile flowers thrown on like they were boba. It's a garnish - one is sufficient. a half dozen and it's just awkward. But all of that could have been forgiven, if it wasn't for the pizza. Have you ever been two drinks in, eaten pizza, and thought "I don't want more of this, and I know I'm not going to want this leftover in the morning either?" Until today, neither had I.

Ate at the bar early one Friday night and really enjoyed our time here. Pastas were excellent, service was prompt and friendly, and drinks were top-notch (including a very creditable negroni.) If you find Il Terazzo a little too "white tablecloth" for your tastes (as I do), this is the place.

Google
Surprisingly cheap eats, given the decor and the location. My $14 cocktail was both overpriced and very disappointing, but the food was really solid. The $6 stuffed olives are well worth it and the $14 duck confit is a steal. Stick to happy hour drinks and you'll be fine.

Yelp
The food that we ended up getting was really good, but they were out of many things we wanted to order; the lasagna, another entree, so they only had 2 of the 4 or 5 on the menu, and only had two of the 5 appetizers. The cocktails were awesome. Service was good, and the place was very pretty inside.

Yelp
We discovered Bar Sosta when we were waiting for Il Terrazzo Carmine for a couple aperitifs. We tried to see if any other Yelpers have written reviews for this bar and we were surprised to find there was none. As it turns out, Bar Sosta was a recent name change but they've been there for over a year. We ordered a negroni and an espresso martini. Both were great drinks! The espresso martini had a great foam and flavor, and the negroni tasted great as well. Highly recommend Bar Sosta!

Yelp
Elegant find near Pioneer Square. Unique cocktails, simple and delicious menu. One of the few quality places open past 8pm Mon-Wed. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thanks to The Dandy next door for the recommendation (their kitchen last call is 7:30pm Mon-Wed). On a Wednesday night the vibe was chill.
