NYC’s New Restaurant Openings

"For an autumnal rooftop bar experience in Times Square, check out Bar Sprezzatura. The bilevel Italian cocktail bar is located in the Kimpton Hotel Theta, and you can drink several negronis alongside a couple of pastas, snacks, and some larger plates like pork cheeks in a cacciatore sauce." - will hartman

My family and I flew in from out of town, headed to a Broadway show. Our server was very kind and patient, he ensured we were taken care of and that our food came out quickly. We were able to make it to the show with some time to spare thanks to the speedy service. We sat out on the terrace, which was a beautiful view. The small plates and cocktails were phenomenal—especially the lobster bruschetta, oysters, and mushroom crostini. 10/10 recommend

Came here with a small group after a conference at the Glasshouse. This rooftop restaurant has a bouncer at the door, the walk through an S shaped hallway to get to the elevator. This place is more for ladies. There were two large parties during dinner time while we almost couldn't get in if we did make a reservation ahead of time. The food portions are like tapas, as they even off to set up the appetizers like an after tea set. There are only 6 entrees. Mostly pasta and ravioli. The potions are so small that I would need 3-4 orders if I'm hungry. Personally I don't think it's worth the price, but I'm not a New Yorker so I don't get a saying on that.

Obsessed with this cute southern Italian inspired rooftop. Very cool Italian fusion dishes like the spicy tuna cannoli and the option to add uni and caviar to the happy hour appetizers. Highly recommend going and getting a spritz at happy hour!

Bar Sprezzatura is a hidden rooftop gem in Midtown with stunning skyline views, next-level hospitality, and creative Southern Italian-inspired dishes. The crushed avocado crostino was a standout--ultra-creamy, with subtle dashi umami and a refreshing lightness that sets it apart. The Forest Floor crostino has a mushroom crème that was deeply earthy, with a bright hint of lemon that beautifully cut through the richness. The Ravioli Caprese was another favorite--fresh tomato flavor, just the right amount of sauce, and sun-dried tomatoes that added depth without overpowering the dish. Cocktails here are a true highlight. The Cosmo No Wanda was beautifully made, aromatic, and dangerously delicious. The Shrub Life was a bright and refreshing mix of citrus and strawberry basil shrub, perfect for sipping while taking in the views. We were incredibly impressed with beautifully crafted menu by Chef Trevor and the welcoming service from Angelo and team. We will definitely be back!

First time coming here. Service was amazing, sat at the bar and bartender Steven made amazing cocktails. Offered great suggestions, asked what I preferred and tended to my likes. Definitely will be coming back.

I was close to time square, searching desperately for an happy hour place that wasn’t too touristy and didn’t cost an arm and a leg and randomly found this place. The pictures were gorgeous, the menu promised an affordable happy hour AND there was a rooftop terrace! This bar didn’t disappoint.

An amazing new rooftop bar in the heart of Midtown! So many things to highlight about this place: 1. The outdoor rooftop has spectacular views of the city and the ambiance is very inviting. 2. The food and drinks. A lot of thought has gone into developing a well-rounded and diverse selection of various dishes ans specialty cocktails. 3. Service is top notch. Whether you’re sitting at the bar, at one of the lounge tables, or on the outdoor patio, the staff is extremely attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Definitely a must-visit!!

I highly recommend this hidden gem. Try the espresso martini. If you want a bite, I recommend the crushed avocado crostini with Maine uni. I also recommend the Forest Floor of porcini sformato, glazed Hen of the Woods and the Beech Mushroom Saor. Lastly, I recommend the Spicy Big Eye Tuna Cannoli with Kaviari Caviar. This was all delicious. I can’t forget to mention that if you’re here during the spring and summer, this place has a terrace for you to enjoy the weather.

Yelp
Went for the NYE party! The staff was extremely kind. We got VIP tickets which came with some cozy seats and a couple bottles of Champagne. The food was little snackies. Overall, 10/10 would go again.

Yelp
Bar Sprezzatura is a new hidden gem, literally you have to go a back door and knock to get in, and walk through winding path, with hilarious Italian music guiding you towards an elevator that brings you up to wait feels like a cafe or wine bar straight off the Amalfi coast. The drinks were very good, I had a rose Prosecco shrub spritzer, that made me wish I was on a warm coast. The views were spectacular, and the staff on a Wednesday night were very accommodating. I highly recommend a reservation, that being said you would probably have been sat as a walk in. The crostini was incredible and the meat and cheese board was lovely, very good quality olive oil. It was fun for casual business drinks, but would also make a great stop in an epic girls night or a romantic date. Even when our counterparts were running a tad late they were more than happy to seat us and get us started with apps, and we did not feel rushed at all. Only good things to say about this bar, definitely worth adding to the list as a visitor or a NYC native. Many thanks to our waiter and host for such a lovely experience.

Yelp
I was staying at the Kimpton hotel and wanted some coffee. I was told that they served it at the bar so went up to it. It was confusing as when you got off the elevator, you had to find the steps to get up to the restaurant. I didnʻt see any accessible way to get there without having to go up steps. Itʻs a pleasant environment with some outdoor seating and a nice view of the city. I was told they only had specialty coffee drinks so I ordered a mocha and decided to have the pistachio cake (normally a dessert). The "mocha" didnʻt taste anything like a mocha and the waitress brought me another cup as she said she mistakenly made hot chocolate and I could have it. It didnʻt taste like hot chocolate either.. I took a few sips but left it. I found it hard to find my way to the elevator but someone helped me find the stairs down to the elevator Based on the lack of accessibility for someone physically challenged and the coffee drinks, Iʻd give it a much lower score but feel that would not be totally fair. If you canʻt do stairs, avoid it. I wouldnʻt go back for coffee of any kind.

Yelp
Chill, relaxing vibes with a welcoming staff and delicious food. We got to soak up one of the last warm evenings of the season, and even though it's nestled in the middle of busy NYC buildings, the terrace felt like a peaceful escape--giving off vibrant coastal Italy vibes. The lively atmosphere, with hotel guests enjoying social hour, made it feel like a hidden gem. We mostly came for drinks but couldn't resist trying the avocado crostini with uni on top. Though the portion was small, it made for a light and tasty bar bite. I do wish there were more non-raw options on the menu so I could enjoy it more. Definitely tempted to try the pasta next time. We arrived around 5:30pm, just in time to catch the breathtaking sunset. The open flow between the bar and terrace was inviting and gorgeously designed, giving off lounge vibes rather than a formal dinner setting. After sunset, they dimmed the lights, but my friends and I thought it might've been even prettier if they'd kept the space a bit brighter. The entrance is on 48th Street, and you'll need an ID to get in. Once inside, you take the elevator to the top floor.

Yelp
The food is delicious. However, the portions are appetizers and you're paying for a full plate. The food is really good. I will not lie however if I'm spending $77 for dinner, I want to either know ahead of time that these are all appetizers or tapa size. I never mind paying for dinner, I do mind feeling ripped off. And that's how I felt. Delicious, service was great, ambience lovely. Portion size was ridiculous. If I feel like I have to eat after I pay $77 for one at dinner something's wrong and I'm on Ozempic. I don't eat much.

Yelp
I went for a quick dinner tonight, as I'm staying in the building, and it was major amateur hour! With maybe 10 guests in the restaurant, there were at least 10 workers standing around and somehow my espresso martini took 20 minutes (I ended up telling them I didn't need the foam since apparently that was what was taking so long). They comp'd it, but only after I asked three times for it. I also had to ask for water because no one gave me any. Took the food to go back to my room and it was cold and I wasn't given cutlery. I had to laugh because it was just the perfect end to a disastrous experience. Gorgeous space but the staff needs a few months of training.

Yelp
As you walk through the corridor to the elevator, take the elevator up to the penthouse. With food and drink offerings, the spot makes unique and artisanal cocktails. From their own unique concoctions to their revamp-ed martinis, there is something for anyone.

Yelp
When you're looking for the absolute New York experience with amazing view, look no further! This restaurant has everything that you're looking for, amazing food, and drinks! If you can hit the happy hour, it's definitely worth your visit and stay a while because you'll really appreciate the views on the patio. The entrance has a red carpet vibe, and as you walk down the hall to get to the elevator, the walls have street art. You'll get to the elevator entry you walk into a restaurant that has the Casablanca feel. this is a new and up-and-coming restaurant so experience it while you can. Definitely will be back because I want to explore the menu and also the drinks. Will not disappoint. Alysia is one of the manager's and she'll take care of you.

Yelp
A low key entrance leads you to a warm, welcoming restaurant with a hip, feel good vibe. All of the appetizers were delicious and complemented each other well. Don't miss the Fluke, in fact, double your order! The service was excellent from start to finish. Ask for Tyler if you want a top notch server who took care of everything we needed!

Yelp
Amazing place with a beautiful atmosphere and really good drinks. Our server, Maurice, went above and beyond and we will definitely be returning. He also gave really good recommendations for the food.
