"Located next door to Barbuto in the West Village, Bar Tizio comes from the same group. It’s a European wine bar, and like Barbuto, the wine list and food lean mostly Italian. Look for agnolotti with english peas and morels, fritto misto with asparagus and fiddleheads, and caramello budino." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

"A new wine bar from Jonathan Waxman next door to his longtime chicken restaurant, featuring an inventory of roughly 500 wines with nearly 30 offerings by the glass and a European-influenced food menu including pastas and pizzettes." - Emma Orlow

"A newly opened wine bar next door to the Manhattan restaurant; it debuted in mid‑May." - Nadia Chaudhury

"Positioned as a thinking person’s Barbuto, this West Village outpost takes the unfussiness and tagliatelle that work at Barbuto while avoiding much of the crowd-related headache; the space is built around a horseshoe-shaped copper bar and still looks a bit like it’s emerging from construction, with exposed ductwork and ACs as part of the décor. The short, generally affordable menu and the long, generally obscure wine list are starting to attract a neighborhood crowd; I found a diminutive but very full bowl of bouncy, slightly gamy gumball-size meatballs well worth $18, especially with a hank of baguette, and there’s a lobster pizzette if a drinks date turns into dinner. As the nearer West Village fills with younger crowds, Bar Tizio feels mercifully for the adults." - Grub Street
