NYC’s New Restaurant Openings

"If you find yourself in FiDi, and are in need of a rooftop happy hour, consider Bar Tontine. It’s on the 15th floor of the Wall Street Hotel, and you can drink cocktails like the “Wall Street Barbie,” a pisco sour studded with raspberries." - will hartman

Stunning place that would be perfect for a date! The drinks while good didn’t blow me away, but all the drinks I tried were from an event by a famous bar in Mexico. Both indoors and outdoors seating feel very pleasant. The views aren’t necessarily great but the deco is very pretty.

The weather gods smiled upon us last week and kept the rain and cool temps at bay and treated us to lush jungle floral vibes at Bar Tontine located on the 15th floor of Wall Street Hotel. Fantastic cocktails and snacks by Michelin-star Chef John Fraser, as well as decor inspired by Maison de Verre in Paris transported us into the Summer despite the psychotic weather. Even if the rain didn’t hold back, the indoor lounge is gorgeous! Follow GlamYourGlass on IG for more recos & tips!

If you are in FiDi whether for meeting, or work or just passing by definitely come for a carefully crafted cocktail to Bar Tontine. From the decor to the margs, delicious flavors loved to visit here on a Wednesday afternoon. We had la Sandia a cocktail with reposado, curacao and watermelon! Loved every sip. Then I had el pimiento it was savory yet refreshing and a bit of authentic by adding those pieces of peppers! Guac and chips was delicious and fresh, chips were crunchy and made real corn instead of wheat flour which I enjoyed (trust me I am mexican and very picky with my chips). I wanted to order more food but didn’t hence will definitely have to come back. Follow @winedivaa on IG for more reccos

Been to la marchande downstairs and it’s always phenomenal. Great service, drinks, food. Everything. We recently started going to this rooftop for a night cap. First time we went it was great. Last night things took a turn- we asked them if they could make a cocktail we like (la marchande does it, and even the rooftop has been happy to make it for us before). He told us he couldn’t (we assume he meant due to ingredients needed maybe?)- so we explained they were able to make it the week before without an issue. He started becoming hostile saying that should have never been allowed etc . Now I get some bars have rules with that. But his delivery, approach, everything was very off. Extremely hostile, and lacking basic hospitality skill sets- really threw the whole vibe off and it’s a shame because we enjoyed going up to the roof and having a drink. We won’t be back. We will stay downstairs at la marchande. Idk who this guy, maybe the bar manager, but he needs training on how to talk to guests.

Motts is an absolute pro behind the bar. Smooth service, great convo, and a vibe that made the whole night better. Motts knows how to read the room and elevate the energy. If you’re looking for great drinks and even better energy, Motts your person.

I was with 2 friends this past Sunday. We are all artists and love to draw interesting interior spaces. When we saw Bar Tontine at The Wall Street Hotel, we knew we had to draw it. The bar is filled with a very welcoming atmosphere and has been designed beautifully. The menu was just right for us, but the crowning detail was the waitress that waited on us. We asked her name because she went above and beyond. Our waitress, Alicia Santana couldn’t have been nicer or more efficient. I have many friends that come to visit NYC frequently. I will not hesitate to recommend the Wall Street Hotel and the Bar Tontine within the hotel!

Yelp
Bar Tontine is the rooftop bar located on the 15th floor inside The Wall Street Hotel. As you can see from the pictures, it is absolutely stunning inside! The decor is interesting, fresh and really inviting. I hosted a private reception in the bar this week and cannot give enough praise to this place and the people who work there. Event was flawless. I worked with Kate all evening as well as Theresa who both had a hand in creating such a wonderful experience for my group of almost 90 people. Thank you both! They have a huge catering menu to choose from. For my event I served: charcuterie board, lobster rolls, sliders, scallop and crab fritters, vegetable dumplings and caprese tarts. The board was stunning and kept perfectly filled and was attended to all evening. The rest were passed hors d'oeurves and the staff kept up with the pace of our event just perfectly. The food was all excellent, but I heard the most rave reviews about the fritters, sliders and caprese tarts (the last being my personal favorite). The bright tomato and creamy mozzarella just popped and melted in your mouth. We had the entire inside as well as the outside space, and we happened to luck out with a stunningly gorgeous evening. Also, we had a few late arrivals to the party, and Kate and Theresa were more than accommodating in allowing us to extend our stay by an hour past the original planned time. 6/5 stars if I could. Thank you to everyone I met and who assisted. You have a great team and I look forward to hopefully coming back soon!

Yelp
The service was terrible. My friend waited for her drink for over 20 minutes and we had to order it again because they forgot about it. At the end they forgot half our drinks on one check so had to charge us twice. Overpriced drinks for the quality and surroundings. Really disappointing for a new find in the neighborhood.
