The 5 Elements of a Flawless Highball | Bon Appétit

"This Tokyo bar is known for an ice-less version of the Japanese highball that emphasizes chilled whisky and minimal presentation; by serving the drink without ice it showcases subtle whisky flavors and a precise balance of carbonation and temperature. Its spare, disciplined approach to the highball has served as a model for bartenders studying Japan's highball traditions." - ByElyse Inamine

Excellent sound system and great drinks, staff was super friendly too. We had to come back for a second round of drinks after eating. Do not be fooled by the old dumb reviews. This place was fantastic, no one will shush you unless you're actually being loud. Lots of older regulars there too, which is always a good sign. If you're looking for a spot to talk with a group of friends just go to a regular bar. This place is for enjoying music and having a nice quiet conversation. 10/10!!!

Great bar! Especially if you love good music brought to you by a serious dj who knows his vinyls. None of their cocktails are on the menu, let them tell you what’s good. Not cheap and smoking is allowed inside — something to keep in mind. But totally worth the experience! We stayed until they closed up, would recommend this to anyone who wants an unexpected night out in Tokyo

very chic!! no photos allowed, my friend and I had some really good talks in here without the distraction of phones. music was excellent, drinks were strong, and free snacks were fun

Amazing atmosphere for Music/Vinyl lovers. Hi end sound system and drink options. Limited English is spoken but not needed. This is a specialty bar for listening to vinyl. Do not go in there with a large group or making lots of noise even if the locals do/are. You will be called out. I went single and only talked to the Dj.

My ears have never heard such quality sounds, I felt like a baby discovering music for the first time. The negative reviews are for smoking, being asked to be quiet, racist staff... I smoke, so that's a bonus for me. When people are loud, it's a distraction from the music. I prefer a quiet place when listening to good music instead of a rowdy bar where people are yelling. The staff were GREAT to me, I made an attempt to speak Japanese, and they appreciated my efforts. I drank Japanese whiskey per the bartenders recommendations, and the snacks were classic Japanese snacks that I really enjoyed. You have to understand this place is unique. It's unlike most bars and offers something special. If you're looking for cheap beers, rowdy drunk people, and Top 40 Pop music - this place isn't for you.

the old place was much better. when they are not breaking ice it’s good they should have a cracking ice time zone. it’s so annoying 🧊🧊🧊🧊📣

Great little bar but really smokey since it's allowed in Japan. The music and vibe are worth dealing with the smoke in my opinion. They really treat bartending like a craft. Just a great place to hang out, hope to go back again.

Ice shaving..is noisy but the sound is immaculate and the vibes are pure. No regrets.
