The 7 Best Restaurants At The Grove

"Eating at a restaurant on a balcony inside a Nordstrom overlooking a dancing fountain and fake trolley line is the definition of ironic dining. If you agree with that statement, Bar Verde will never let you down. The menu is full of things you’d expect from a place attached to a department store—spinach artichoke dips, chicken paillard, a salad with some salmon—and under no circumstance should you be going out of your way for any of it. Instead, order a few random appetizers, ask for their crispest bottle of white wine, and have yourself a proper mental health day. " - brant cox

We had such a wonderful experience at Bar Verde! It was our first time dining here, and we were so impressed -especially thanks to our server, Derek. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we sat down. His service was thoughtful and seamless, and he really elevated the whole experience. Can’t wait to come back again!

Came by and sat inside to avoid the heat (100°F). We ordered the artichoke dip, turkey & avocado sandwich, and shrimp salad. The dip was too salty. The entrées were tasty. Our server, Sam, was attentive.

Bar Verde at The Grove is truly a hidden gem tucked inside Nordstrom. Though we usually swing by for happy hour drinks, because it’s my Nephew’s favorite spot, we decided to try dinner this time—and I'm so glad we did. The vibe is relaxed yet stylish, the perfect spot to unwind. Our server, Jay (I think that was his name), was fantastic. He was attentive, and his timing was spot-on. He chatted just enough to keep the mood light, but never overdid it—just the right balance to complement the evening. We kicked off with the artichoke spinach dip, which, frankly, blew us away. It’s so much better than Houston’s Chicago-style spinach dip, and it even comes with warm, fresh bread that elevates the dish. For the main course, I went with the chef's special ribeye, paired with a salad and potatoes. The steak was massive, cooked to a perfect medium-rare, and absolutely delicious. The Caesar salad was fresh and made to order. Normally, I’m not big on Caesar salads, but this one was a pleasant surprise. If you're looking for a low-key spot with fantastic food, Bar Verde is the place to be. Great service, delicious dishes, and a chill atmosphere make this restaurant a must-visit!

You can get a great view of the main Grove courtyard if you’re lucky. It was holiday time so we could see the Xmas tree quite well. Service is not very good. I ordered the campanelle pasta. Pretty well served but it doesn’t have a creamy or marinara sauce so I regretted not paying attention to the menu. It has a good amount of chicken. The pasta was not al dente. Sigh. It was decent. We also had the artichoke dip which was tangy but not that good. It comes with bread wedges. Some of the dip was left over because you don’t get enough bread wedges. Honestly I was not impressed by the menu options. I’m had unsweetened ice tea which was good but the refills were ponderously slow. Park in the Grove structure.

Google
Our server Jane and Rosa were extremely pleasant, service was impeccable! And food!! I did not except such quality food from Nordstrom restaurant but everything was so delish! Steak was so juicy, soft and yummy, nicoise salad sauce was wonderful! Dessert were yummy! I mean everything was 10/10! View from their roof on The Grove is amazing! I will be back pretty soon! Thank you!

Got dinner and drinks with a friend here on a Saturday night before a movie. We had alot of questions about recommendations for the waiter and he was super helpful and accommodating for us! The food was all soooo good! I got the salmon dish and it was honestly one of the better dishes I’ve had in a long time, the sauce was so flavorful and the crabcake on top was absolutely delicious. We also got calamari as an app, which was also great. My friend got the birria grilled cheese and it was as good as it sounds on the menu! Drinks were also really good! Of course a little expensive because you’re at the grove so like $18-$20 a drink, but they were very good! I will be making my fiance take me here for date night very soon!!

Google
Horrible experience at a poorly managed, overhyped restaurant. We were invited by the manager at the Bar Verde at Nordstrom at the Grove to visit the restaurant. When we arrive, she is rude, unprofessional, and incompetent. We review the menu, which is bland and overpriced, and then try the signature cocktails at an empty bar, and the drinks are way too expensive for the tasteless mish-mash of off-the-cuff ingredients. The entire interaction with her was regrettable and a waste of time. We wish we had went with one if the many better restaurants at The Grove and avoided the rude incompetence at Bar Verde. Wouldn't return even if it was free.

Google
We really like the food and drinks here! The staff are always accommodating. The drinks are made very well, and the food is super scrumptious! The prices are reasonable and definitely competitive. Outside on the patio is our favorite place to sit.

Yelp
I was at Nordstrom's this week and decided to have a coffee and a little bite at Nordstrom's bar Verde. It was Nordstrom so I wasn't expecting a lot and I was blown away. The bite I had was the Burrata and it was hands-down the best appetizer I've had in a really really long time. Every bite was divine. It was reasonably priced and the coffee was excellent and oh my gosh next time I have a bigger appetite I'm coming back. This is one of the biggest surprises I've ever had sitting down at a restaurant. The server was lovely. The view was wonderful highly highly recommend.

Yelp
The service was great--attentive, friendly, and perfectly timed. Food was thoughtfully handled, making the dining experience seamless and genuinely enjoyable. The ambience was great- perfect for lunch or a date. You could see all the activities happening downstairs without the noise. The food was amazing, with every dish being with fresh, vibrant flavors and beautifully presented. Each bite was a perfectly cooked, had great textures and seasoned just right. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
I'd lean more towards 3.5 for Bar verde! I'd have to say I think this location is better than the Galleria one. The staff is very friendly at both ! The place is also casual so good to grab a bite after shopping. I love the tacos ! I always get them when I come. The reason I rated low is because the prices are kind of up there for tiny portions.
google avatar

Noesh H.

Yelp
Great restaurant located on top of the Nordstroms at the grove. I had the happy hour Burrata, as well as the grilled salmon. Food came out quick and cooked perfectly. Service was great, and very attentive. A great choice if you're hungry and already shopping!
google avatar

Yelp
The chicken sandwich is cool. Didn't like the pimento cheese so I took it off. The service was greats my family sat outside on the balcony and people watched. The one thing I will say - we ate here and our server validated our ticket - come to the gate and it wasn't validated :( so I'm upset because we spent over $100+ on lunch with a $30 parking ticket. Do better !!

Yelp
This is an okay spot at The Grove, slightly overpriced but a relaxing cafe located on the second floor of Nordstrom's at The Grove. During the Christmas holiday time, it's a nice spot to see the tree. I'd say it's a solid 3 stars, since the prices are a bit steep for what you get and small portion sizes. I've eaten here a few times over the years, and on this latest visit I had the Cilantro Lime Chicken Salad with a glass of Daou Cabernet. The service was a little slow and inattentive, with not many tables since I went during a weekday. Overall, it's a fine experience with better options nearby at The Grove or the LA Farmer's Market like Monsieur Marcel (French), La Piazza (Italian) or Alma (pricey Mexican). Will I be back? Maybe but probably won't rush back anytime soon.

Yelp
I came in an hour before closing. The host told me they couldn't seat me because the kitchen was backed up. He didn't know if I wanted a drink or food, he just refused service.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Terrible service. From entering the bar to waiting to order, my husband and I were continuously ignored by the staff. Not sure why we were disregarded, but it looked pretty suspicious when the waitress helped the two tables next to us including one where the patrons sat down after us, but then walked right past our table as though we weren't even there. Great, looks like you don't want our business then! Plenty of other places for us to spend our money around The Grove. It also didn't help when we entered the restaurant, no one greeted us either despite there being multiple staff members on the floor. We didn't really know what to do so we just sat ourselves outside at a table. Suddenly a staff member was finally to be found! A hostess came to our table and we asked if we were supposed to seat ourselves. She was like, "yeah, but next time you have to check in with the hostess." Don't worry, there won't be a next time. By the way that doesn't make any sense because when we entered with the elevator, the hostess stand was all the way on the other side of the restaurant and wouldn't have been in our line of sight. Maybe if someone was actually doing their job around here, we would've known.

Yelp
The restaurant service and attitude of the host and wait staff was so sub par and dismissive it was jarring. No one smiles and the Salads we ordered arrived over dressed and room temperature . The Chicken breast on mine was cooked to death and tasteless as was my friend's Salmon which was covered in oily sauce. We tried to engage with a smile to staff but our server seemed to have no interest or understanding of what the service industry is about. The bill came to our table with out even a check in to clear our plates and inquire if we wanted another drink. When we flagged her back to request a coffee she was flustered and said she'd have to brew another pot and it might take a few minutes. How is that relevant to me just make the coffee. The salads were wilted and not fresh . Would not ever return. Also Clearly the days of Nordstrom being a destination for dining have left the building.

Yelp
disappointing experience, I will not be back. service was the bare minimum and we never got any refills or checked on after ordering. the food took quite a while to come out and it was cold when it arrived. we sat by the window for the view, except there were flies everywhere! ruined my appetite. quite overpriced brunch/lunch food and not worth the price. also, this seems to be a "family-friendly" lunch spot with a bar but there were 3+ families with small children screaming at the top of their lungs throughout our meal. ruined our experience and we could barely sit in peace. i will think twice about where im seated.

Yelp
Great Views Decent Food. I came to the Grove on a Wednesday with a friend. We wanted to step away from the crowds and he knew this spot. It is in the Nordstrom's on the second floor. We were seating right away and the waiter was great. We ordered a salad and some pasta. The salad was very refreshing and came with some unique crispy parmesan bites. The pasta was also good, but the portion seemed small for the price. The biggest appeal eating here is the view over the Grove, if you like to people watch it is the place for you! 7/10

Yelp
Cocktails and Cold cuts.... Bar Verde is a food and beverage destination located on the second floor of Nordstroms at The Grove LA. They have exceptional service, signature cocktails with a happy hour from 2:30 to 5 pm during the week and a simple yet well versed menu. The have some vegetarian and gluten free options and can make a few vegan dishes including a beyond burger. My friend Art loves this place especially the French dip, salads, soups. Definitely more partial for the beverages and specials myself including the half off bottles for wine Wednesday... Say what!!! Recommend the balcony outdoor seating more so on a perfect pre-summer day like today though you can absolutely have a wonder time indoors or at the bar area which has plenty of seating.

Evan S.

Yelp
You guys, out of all the restaurants at the Grove- THIS IS THE ONE! Friendly team, fast service and amazing dishes. The quality is absolutely insane. Please please please try the cilantro lime tacos. The chicken and the spinach dip are to die for. Sit outside and enjoy the pretty view of the Grove below

Yelp
Chill spot to have a good meal. The restaurant is located on the top floor of nordstrom. The wait goes by fast for lunch. Expect a longer wait if you want patio seating when it gets busy. Service was friendly, they recommended us great dishes and drinks. Had the basil cucumber cooler, aperol spritz, roma tomato basil soup, cilantro lime chicken tacos, roast turkey club, rigatoni, and chicken sausage. Don't skip the tomato basil soup (perfectly creamy, and fresh). Favorites were the rigatoni (sauce that did it for me) and turkey club. Come here if you feeling for something better than the cheesecake factory. Roma tomato basil soup: $5 Cilantro lime chicken tacos: $6.50 Roast turkey club $16.25 Rigatoni and chicken sausage: $18.50 Basil cucumber cooler: $13 Aperol spritz: $13

Yelp
I walked into Bar Verde, waiting for a friend who I was going to go catch a movie with. I loved the vibe right away. I actually ended up meeting a really cool person who I really got along with and it's just one of those things so while I waited for my friend to join me, I chatted it up with my new pal...I asked if she had been there before she said yeah she loves this place. I told her that I ordered the lobster bisque and she's like that is amazing. You're gonna love it and she was not wrong. I think it's probably the best lobster bisque I've ever had. And I've had a lot of lobster bisque! The drink I ordered was the vine street drink and it was fabulous. Meticulously crafted and made it perfectly. It tasted just the way I thought it was going to taste. I love that! I didn't get the bartenders name and I should have because I like to give props out to the bartenders. I will go back and when I do, I will get his name so if you want some good lobster bisque, you know where to go. Happy hour is from 2:30 PM to 5 PM. I know it's a little odd happy hour hours but now I know. (I had arrived at like 4:59 - by the time I sat down, happy hour was over)... I cannot wait to make a date with my new friend and hang out and have some happy hour and spread some holiday cheer!

James Y.

Yelp
Seeing some other reviews regarding the service here. Literally the bare minimum. We sat down and no one even took our drink order or said a word to us for more than 15 minutes. It took 45 minutes for us to even get our food, and no one bothered to check in on us afterwards. I had to flag a server down and ask for refills. The only thing they brought quickly was our check. The food was not bad, but the service was just terrible. If you want okay food and terrible service, this place is for you!
google avatar

Jarenn N.

Yelp
Service and food here is always great. Love the patio and love that it is dog friendly here! They even brought disposable bowls for my dogs to drink water. I enjoy their cocktails and their food. It's pretty empty after peak lunch time so lots of seating options.
google avatar

Daniel F.

Yelp
This bar is a hidden gem at The Grove. Sit out on the balcony after your shopping is done with a pleasant view and a great cocktail. Tried the calamari and the biscuit this weekend and both were very tasty.
google avatar

Brenton B.

Yelp
Bar Verde at The Grove is a great spot to grab a bite and a cocktail while taking a quick break from shopping. Bar Verde can be entered from within Nordys but they also have their own separate entrance outside with a direct elevator to them on the 2nd floor. Hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Try to score an outside table on the patio or at least somewhere inside with a view. Bar Verde has a fantastic location with view for people watching but in particular during the holidays is a great spot for viewing the Christmas tree lighting. Cocktails are fantastic. They have creative signature drinks that are definitely worth a try. Lobster bisque is a absolute must have starter...yum!! Definitely ask for an extra crostini if you can. Amazing salads. My favorite is probably the little gem Caesar. Burger and fries are great. Service is amazing. Servers were friendly. Their manager (Jacqueline) also made a particular point to ensure we had a great experience. Nice touch. Definitely a place to stop in and try on your next trip to The Grove.
google avatar

Elise L.

Yelp
It was nice to be able to eat while looking at the outside view, and the food was good for the price.
google avatar

Shaheen H.

Yelp
Very good salads. I especially like the French dip. Awesome view! Nordstrom restaurants always have a good menu. Will be back.
google avatar

Cybil L.

Yelp
Great food and ambience! Perfect for a quiet summer Sunday. Staff was friendly and courteous. Will be back for more!
google avatar

Victor L.

Yelp
Nobody greeted us when we came in, so we grabbed a table outside on the balcony. Then the hostess came and lectured us saying we needed to check in at the front, but we didnt see anybody there. Once we sat and got our menus, we waited a good 15 minutes where nobody came to take our order. Multiple workers walked past us, obviously saw us, and didnt do shit. We saw a table right next to us that sat down AFTER us and got service. Like are you fkin kidding me. There are so many places here, why would I want to give my business to you. Anyways do not come here.

Morgan H.

Yelp
Terrible service! Ordered the burger medium well with truffle fries and my burger was very over done and fries arrived cold. Had to ask for my water to be refilled when my glass was empty and the aioli was super salty. Food also takes forever to be made
google avatar

Rishi A.

Yelp
Great service and the view of The Grove from the outside patio is gorgeous. The lobster bisque is excellent! Their fries are among the best (like a better version of McDonalds) too. Had their crab Mac n cheese, wasn't the greatest I've had but I have a high standard for Mac.
google avatar

Kellan M.

Yelp
Meh. It'll be fine in a pinch but I don't seek it out anymore. It used to have a better happy hour with better hours. Now the happy hour is 2:30-5. Hardly usable for normal people. Tonight was not great service. I was served my drink then the server disappeared. My plan was to grab a small bite but he never came back until much later. Eventually someone else took his place and was much better. Had some tortilla soup. Quite good. But food is overpriced for the most part, though it's generally pretty tasty. The inside is a bit bland but not bad. Much prefer sitting outside for a view over the Grove.
google avatar

Joella H.

Yelp
Waited to get seated, but time estimate for table was accurate and loved the text notice. We got a great table overlooking the main area - so people watching was great! We went for apps and wine. Food was on point, perfect size for sharing for 2. Great service. Can't complain. Definitely will be back.
google avatar

Nick P.

Yelp
Bar Verde is a great place to have lunch when you're in Los Angeles at the grove near Beverly Hills it's very very lovely out here you can sit outside on the second level and watch everyone walking around the Grove here at Christmas time hope everyone has a great time
google avatar

Brad H.

Yelp
Outstanding burger! Soup was surprisingly very good. Bartender was polite and took care of me. Great customer service and a relaxing view! Happy Hour 2:30pm-5pm. Thank you Nordstrom and Bar Verde! I'll be back.
google avatar

Star J.

Yelp
I love sitting on the balcony here and watching all the interesting characters wandering the grove. I've come here several times for the happy hour M-F 2:30-5pm. Service is friendly. The burger is my favorite thing on that menu! The Burrata Salad is delicious but a little more perfect the first time I had it. I love the cilantro lime vinaigrette on the chicken tacos! They are delightfully crispy. The happy hour merlot (Greystone) is not my fave. They gave me a little mint chocolate with the check. Woo hoo! Overall, I think this is one of the cutest, chillest places at the grove and underrated.
google avatar

Yelp
After walking around the Grove for a hot minute the next best thing to do was eat. We didn't pre plan to be here, but it was the best option with the heat and all. Took the elevator up and was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't crowded at all. We opted to sit inside. They put us in a booth right by the kitchen. One of us, not me, asked for a glass of water as soon as we sat down. She was parched. She asked the girl who looked like she was bussing tables. The guy across from her who turned out to be Arthur told her not to worry cos he got it. So I figured he'd be on it. Well he wasn't. She asked for water again and even offered to get it herself. He was like no no no I got it. He did get it. Minutes later though. We saw him walk to the drink station and take his sweet time. He did something else before getting the water. He finally walked over. And get this, he handed the first glass to ME, not the person who was on the verge of passing out from dehydration. HE GAVE ME WATER FIRST. All in all, it took about 3.5 minutes for the water to come. All we needed was ONE glass. I don't get why that was so difficult. And he was so passive aggressive. It was basically all downhill from there. Before, I ended, I will say the food was fantastic. Hence the 4 stars. I only took away one for the poor service. I would normally take all the stars. They're lucky the food was to my liking To start, I got the pear/kale salad, burrata with tomatoes and cilantro lime chicken tacos. We shared all. My main was the short rib grilled cheese with fries. Someone else got burger and crab roll. The only thing I didn't care for was the crab. Not my jam. The tacos were great. By the way, we had to ask for the bread and oil. He never would've dropped it off. And we asked for it at the end of our meal. We washed it all down with the watermelon beverage. So in conclusion, shitty service, but good food.

Yelp
This was my second time here and the pappardelle bolognese was so good. You can sit outside and get a nice view , but it can get pretty hot if the sun is out. They seemed to be a bit short staffed today and it took some time to get helped. Our waiter Mitchell was simply amazing. At first we were upset that no one had come over to take our order, but he completely turned it around with his great customer service.
google avatar

Audrey F.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday afternoon for drinks and appreciated the wonderful location! It's on the second floor of Nordstrom and overlooks the Grove. The outdoor patio has a good breeze and is completely shaded. The service was only ok. I could feel my waiter was disappointed that I only came for drinks & that she wanted us to order more. In terms of drinks, I got two cocktails - a grape/Prosecco/mint/lime combo and a refreshing cucumber one. Both were pretty good and refreshing, decent size, and not too expensive.
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
Best happy hour at the grove ! $5 beer and $10 billionaires yum ! Rising sun is an awesome server ! The view is so relaxing ! Great place can't wait to go back .
google avatar

Jo S.

Yelp
We came here for an impromptu dinner after attending a Barnes and Noble book signing event. Since we had no reservations and wanted to sit on the outdoor balcony, we were put on a waitlist and shopped in Nordstrom (Restaurant located within) while waiting for hostess to buzz us. 30 minutes later, we were seated in a nice corner outdoor table right at the balcony so we had a lovely view of the Christmas tree and holiday decorations at The Grove. It even "snowed" while we were out there We started off with the fried calamari and Burrata with Apples. For our main meal, we ordered a Sesame Chicken salad, Neapolitan Pizza and daughters both ordered the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. Food was very good. In combination with the ambiance, it was the perfect end to our evening. My only complaint is that my daughter had 1/4 sandwich left over which we were gonna munch on while walking around, so I wrapped it in a napkin. But waiter ended up taking it away -- we were so disappointed, as that sandwich was so yummy!

Yelp
The view of the grove is one of the top scenes that we tend to see the most in photos with the famous water fountains. This is basically a restaurant that is adjoined to Nordstroms. One thing good about this location is the view. It is located on top on the second floor, and you can see the view even if you are sitting in the inside or the balcony. I took my mother for lunch here and it was great. Our waiter was Nicole, and she was awesome. She really took care of us, and offered suggestions along the way. CRAB ROLL WITH FRIES: My mother had this and it was not as big (well not for her). It was a crab salad on a thick roll of bread that was lightly toasted with a side of fries. The crab was good, but she said it had too much mayo. However, the dish was not enough for my bottomless pit mother. CLAIM CHOWDER: We ordered both cup and bowl. The difference is obviously the size, but the price difference wasn't that much. The bowl was much bigger then the cup. My mother ordered the bowl along with her meal, but she said it was really good clam chowder. After devouring her bowl, she aimed for my cup and ate the whole thing. She licked the bowls clean. Apparently, it was really good...I would not know...lol. BAR VERDE BURGER: This is my second time trying this burger. I think this is a great burger. It reminds me of the burgers that we get from Cheesecake factory where the veggies are on the side so we can pick and choose what we want to put. The burger is beyond juicy. It was dripping juices the entire time, it was a mess but it was worth it. It did come with a side of fries which was crispy. Nicole brought over this sauce that was basically mayo with a bit of lemon in it, but I can not remember the name. Whatever it was; it was amazing! It was great with my burger and fries. I put that on literally everything I ate. I never had our drinks empty for long, and it was great with the light breeze and overseeing the great view. My mother had fun, and had a good time eating and shopping. I would eat here every time coming to the grove, because you can not get the full view of the fountain with the clear sky. Plus, it is really close to the valet on the side, so less walking for me LOL. This is the place to be when you want something quick, good, but not really heavy and with a great view.
google avatar

Jina K.

Yelp
I'll give this place a 4 because it was my birthday and the people were nice and I was in a good mood haha Objectively, the food wasn't good. Calamari is probably the only thing I would recommend if you HAD to go here. Salad was average (I would hope for a Caesar salad), pasta was undercooked and bland. The French dip was dry and hard to eat. Overall, I would try a different spot in the grove to eat!
google avatar

Brooke R.

Yelp
Decent menu. Always a friendly staff, love the view and vibe from the outside patio. Especially during the holidays.
google avatar

Catherine H.

Yelp
loved the salmon avocado toast, it was amazing. I had the opportunity to get a first taste of bar verde's brunch menu and I can't wait to have more. the service was great and the food was ever better. there were some other new items on the menu that looked tasty but I was in the mood for something light. their brunch menu has a variety of items and pairs nicely with their signature cocktails. I would recommend it to anyone stopping by.

Lails A.

Yelp
Service was terrible. Waited over 25 min to finally get bread and there was a dead spider in it. How dirty does a kitchen have to be for a dead spider to be in the bread. This restaurant has gone down hill.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Outdoor, balcony seating was very enjoyable. The Grove rocks it! Our server Arthur was superb and very accommodating. They wear mask and gloves and practice social distancing. Food was excellent
google avatar

Ken P.

Yelp
There has not been one Nordstrom Cafe, Bistro, Bar or restaurant that has served me sub par food. I love going to eat at Nordstrom when I travel as the quality of the food is always on point. They know how to source there Ingredients and make the food healthy for us. My meal was simply exquisite the shrimp, the pasta the chicken soup, ohh my. So flavorful, so what I just wanted. You finish your meal and sit and think, boy that was a good meal. Your full but not stuffed. Exactly the way eating should be.
google avatar

Moe H.

Yelp
I've eaten here before I've never been super impressed. My friends wanted to come here this time so I joined. I have the tomato soup. It was served hot. I did enjoy it. It came with one small crispy piece of bread. I ordered the Neapolitan pizza. This pizza I would give like two stars. It was a flat bread style and I wasn't amazed. Next I ordered the SHORT RIB GRILLED CHEESE w blackberry jam, sharp white cheddar cheese, rustic bread, sea salt fries or side salad. Really I thought the sandwich was a hodgepodge of messy slime. I thought the meet was borderline gamy and it was not saved by the cheese or blackberry jam. It was accompanied by some green sauce in a small container which I did enjoy. I'm not going to lie I did finish the entire sandwich but I probably would not order it again. One of my friends at the table said it was a great sandwich and that he had had it before so it's something you must individually try and decide. Other dishes ordered the Asian chicken salad, which was enjoyed. The sentiment was that it was pretty good and there were no complaints on this dish. One of my friends ordered the crab roll sandwich which is a lump crab sandwich. The waiter did not know whether it was Alaskan crab or snow crab so I didn't order it. He did eat the entire sandwich but then he eats everything. I felt like the service could've been better. We were only asked one time how things were and this was after the first bite so too early, too little and too late. We had to ask for water. We did sit outside and they did have heaters which were perfect because it was a little chilly on this day.

Yelp
I was just told that their kitchen was backed up so we couldn't sit in the patio. I'm like...we are just here for drinks. Are you serious! I just checked there schedule and it says open until 8pm. It's only 4:50pm. Lousy management and I would say a horrible establishment. Why open a business if you don't want business??? Unbelievable!

Yelp
This review has to be quick and dirty. Why? Because all you REALLY need to know is if you're at The Grove, you need to stop into Bar Verde. Perched above Nordstrom in The Grove, Bar Verde reveals the hustle and bustle of the crowds below your seat. The food and service are fun, energetic, and provides a bright and airy ambiance. Need more detail? No you don't. Go and grab a table outside (on a sunny day), bring your sunglasses, order a drink, and get a bit of food to go with it. Smiling as you imagine yourself there? You're welcome!

Yelp
New price increase, decreased portions and quality. I think Nordstrom has followed the wave of other restaurants that are decreasing the quality experience yet increasing prices. I'll pass!

Yelp
Located in the bad and boujie mall of The Grove, atop of Nordstrom, is this awesome cafe. My siblings, our friend, and I had dinner here (4/8/17) and we were not disappointed! Our friend ordered their Cilantro Lime Chicken Salad; my sister and I split the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich; I ordered their Apple Blueberry for my drink; and my brother had their Short Rib Grilled Cheese with a side of tomato soup. The sandwiches come with a side of sea salt fries and a garlic lemon aïoli to dip them in. Their tomato soup is the BEST TOMATO SOUP I'VE EVER HAD?!?!??! Like, how?! It is a perfect balance of tangy and creamy.. It was so good that all of us started to dip our fries in it! Their complimentary bread is KILLER, too! My friend's salad was OK. Her and I thought it was underdressed but, even if it was dressed enough, I still would think it's just OK. My sister and I's sandwich was deliiiciioussss but I do think my brother's was better. It depends what you like more: the Santa Fe sticks true to its Tex-Mex profile while the Short Rib has an exciting twist to it, which is the kick from the blackberry jam. If you can't choose, have a friend get the other and split... Or just order both, LOL. The sea salt fries that come with the sandwiches are relatively yummy, too! I unashamedly admit that I regret not getting my own sandwich but ya homegirl been eatin' like ham for the past week sooooo I had to share :( Without a doubt, I would visit The Grove just for this restaurant -- both for their food and service. Mimi was our server and she was so, so, so lovely and helpful! I grilled her with questions and she answered every single one of them. It's also worth nothing that they have good water; of course I had to ask Mimi and she said they filter their water three times!!! It's very possible that I'll eventually give them a 5-star rating but I would have to visit again, so.... with that said... I'll be coming back for ya Bar Verde and I will get my OWN sandwich!

Yelp
I absolutely love this hidden gem. The food and drinks are incredible, but that's not why I love it. It's the service! Aya, Sunrise, and Manu (best bartender ever) make it the most pleasant experience one could ask for. I dine alone, and you will never feel alone here! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Always a great place to dine among the tree tops of the Grove. I love the chicken tacos and the Brussels sprouts in particular. The menu is filled with a delicious variety of bites and you will be well looked after by the staff.
