"Bar Victor, the chic drinking den that shuttered in Montrose last year, will officially reopen its doors in time for Memorial Day weekend. The bar announced its return under new management in a Facebook post on Tuesday, noting that it will sling its first cocktails in more than a year starting on Friday, May 22. “Bar Victor is under new management and we cannot wait to meet you,” the post reads. “We have some added some cool touches to the space, and best of all, we have a divine new cocktail menu.” Bar Victor closed in April of last year after opening in January 2018. When it closed, the bar’s owners said that they would “set their sights on new goals,” and continue to operate La Villa, the French restaurant not too far away on Montrose Boulevard. La Villa has since closed. Like all other bars opening on May 22, which is the earliest that bars can open under Governor Greg Abbott’s Open Texas plan, Bar Victor will enforce a 25 percent capacity limit indoors. The bar’s patio will be “available for all, as long as social distance is respected,” according to the post. When it debuts on Friday, Bar Victor will be open from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m." - Amy McCarthy

"Victor, a chic, French-inspired lounge, has officially opened its doors in Montrose. The spot serves up classic cocktails, pricey bottles of bubbly, and bar snacks like charcuterie and fish conservas. Larger 'sharing boards' offer caviar, smoked salmon, foie gras pate, and more for a crowd." - Amy McCarthy

"Victor is a French-themed, music-focused bar and lounge set to open this spring in the former Zimm’s space. The venue will feature a DJ booth constructed out of Louis Vuitton luggage, Baroque-inspired furnishings, and a redone terrace while preserving the original Zimm’s bar top. DJs will perform six nights a week, and the bar will offer classic and creative cocktails along with light bites and snacks." - Adele Chapin

Very cool bar with an authentic feel, the live music and bartenders really make the atmosphere of this place come alive.

I haven’t been a patron of the place yet (8 months pregnant) but I just wanted to give a huge shout out thank you to the place for being such good neighbors. We just moved in and they’ve worked really hard to control the outdoor speaker noise. Wonderful neighborhood bar!

Saturday nights here leave nothing to be desired. The DJ moves with the crowd and the bartenders are eager to please! A very good mix of like-aged individuals. Note: anything other than street parking starts at $10 and goes up from there

Good music. Poor service. The bouncer randomly picked on my husband without cause after we had been in the place for an hour. I will not be able to go back and don't recommend a place that cannot respect their patrons. We were well behaved and well dressed group but cannot feel comfortable in a place where you can be attacked or discriminated against without a reason. Don't go to this place if you want to have a nice outing.

Very nice atmosphere, however, if you are a scotch or bourbon drinker this is NOT your spot! Surprisingly limited selection with all liquors. The bartender actually asked if I would like to mix a Macallen 12 with orange or pineapple juice 🤣 DJ was awesome.

Came for a birthday party. Section, bottle service, Manny Fresh came and did a set. Having a good time until I asked for a bottle of water. The guy told me $5. The lady gave me $12 back from a $20. When I asked about it she said it’s really $9 for a bottle of water! Not even Alkaline and then they up charged the bottles by $100! Not cool at all. They ripping people off!!! They might get people once but that was not cool... I changed my mind about having a party here next week! Can’t play with my coins like that....

Amazing French decor, lively stylish crowd (some men in suits & blazers) drinks artfully crafted, DJ takes you around the world and back. I went on a Friday night w/ date sat in a cozy private area, yet still close enough to get into the active partying. This is definitely a gem and will be returning when they open French restaurant 2 doors down.
