I was blown away by bar167 from start to finish! The service, food, decor, beverages were all 10/10!
I came to bar167 on a Saturday for lunch right when they open (12pm). My friend and I were both so excited for our first time and wanted to try a little bit of everything. We got the caviar doughnut, caviar cone, and oysters as starters. All were absolutely delicious. The doughnuts were soft, pillowy, and warm. They had a fresh garlicky cream and then of course, caviar on top, a perfect salty finish. The caviar cone was similar but with a crisp, crunchy, salty cone, a parmesan cream and caviar on top. Two perfect bites. We had to get fresh oysters, and they were just delectable. Fresh out of the water, perfectly shucked with a homemade cocktail sauce and mignonette. Doesn't get better than that.
For our main we shared the arroz con negro. A flawlessly dressed tuna tartare on top of a crispy black rice bed with a lemony aioli on top. Citrusy, creamy, crispy, fresh. What else could you want? This was perfect. Our second entree was the scallops, which was 5 exceptionally seared fresh diver scallops on top of a bed of slow cooked white beans. This dish was just as delicious, and we absolutely inhaled both meals.
We were hoping for the baklava cheesecake to finish out the meal, but unfortunately they were out for the day, so I will have to come back for that one.
Our drinks were their margarita, which was fresh and herby, their pepperoncini martini, which was very briny and strong, and their espresso martini, which was smooth and perfectly balanced.
Overall this meal was a 10/10. Our bill came to a whopping $220, but it was worth every penny. Can't recommend it enough.
