Barado's On The Water

Don’t be put off by the strange back roads and hole in the wall vibe! This was an extremely delicious eatery right on the water with dockside patio seating! Unfortunately it was raining when we visited. The interior felt very cozy and the tiki bar area was a vibe! The crab cakes and eggplant fries were fantastic! The cold lobster roll could have used a little more lobster but was still tasty! The salads were also a hit with our party! The servers were extremely attentive and kind. Can’t wait to visit again on a day with better weather!

I afraid to say, this place seems to be overrated. It might be that there's not a lot in this area. We ordered the crab cakes, they were very salty. The lettuce and cabbage side took some of the salt flavor down but not enough. They were also lightly burnt. We order the lobster roll, chicken Caesar and lobster bisque. The lobster roll was way too salty, no butter lettuce using green leaf. The Mayo sauce was overpowered by the cayenne pepper. I left some because it was hard to eat. I didn't realize you can make fries too salty, but one of the chefs loves salt (maybe the Salt Bae chef works here now?). The Caesar salad is just right not too saucy. The lobster bisque was good. Beer selection is limited, but enough of a selection to find something. The specials are advertised as 16oz but come in 10oz cups. Price is reasonable at $8. The bar offers their specials, but didn't have rum runners and not sure if they offer anything beyond a shot and a mixer. Not sure I'd stop in again, but it's worth a pop in on a Friday or Saturday evening, when it's hopping. The waitress was friendly and was hustling because she looked responsible for more than 11 tables. Advertised as waterfront but only water right by is a putrified boat canal, so you get boat dock green still water vibes.

Enjoyed the Maryland crabcakes appetizer- remoulade sauce was excellent. Had the Chicken caprese sandwich with spinach wrap with sweet potato fries and Cobb salad. All delicious and would recommend. Portions were adequate and service was prompt and friendly. Dress is very casual - this is where boaters dock and dine. Outdoor seating and indoors also available. Do not expect air conditioning. Although this place is on the water, do not expect a view of Oneida lake. It has more of a marina feel. Five stars for the food and service!

The food here was excellent! We stopped here just a few minutes off of 90 on a road trip and it was a great experience. There is plenty of outdoor seating (they have indoor seating as well) and the staff are very friendly. The crap cakes may be the best I have ever had! The lobster roll and fish tacos were also very good. I would definitely go back again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. It's a nice chill place with great food!

This was a little gem I found while visiting. They have a different dinner special menu every night. Outside seating was perfect since the weather was good. I got the sirloin steak and it was cooked perfectly. The horseradish sauce was amazing! Colleen was my waitress and she was attentive and pleasant. Would recommend this place!

If you looking for a high end dining experience in a lovely outdoor setting with a laid back bar this is your place!! Located on a quaint marina and easily accessible by boat from onieda lake with boat slips available for patrons. We started with poutine that was a perfect balance of salt and savory and came out almost immediately after our order. After this our main course entered the picture and after seeing several other dish’s passed us that looked so amazing! Once our food arrived we were so excited because everything looked so perfect and it definitely was! This was the best NY strip I have had in years, it literally cut like filet at a rare temp and still had great char on the outside, steak lovers definitely check this place out because it’s obviously the chef knows what he or she is doing!! We will back at least once a week if I’m lucky enough!! **FYI this restaurant only has two chefs and they absolutely crush it in kitchen with two burners according to staff, so I have to also shout out the amazing host, service, and bartending staff as well so a big shout out to Mandi our server and our bartender who served me when we first arrived while we waited for a table who’s name escaped me even though I asked twice after my meal, she had a great tan though!

My wife, who had often enjoyed a slice of pasta pie at Julie's Restaurant on James Street before they closed some years ago, discovered that the dish was still being prepared using their recipe at Barado's in Central Square. So, on a Sunday afternoon, we set out on a nostalgic quest for her to relive the enjoyment of that dish. Happily, the pasta pie was exactly as she had remembered. Cheesy angel hair spaghetti with a topping of finely chopped mushrooms set on a bed of tasty marinara sauce. I ordered the strip steak with tavern fries and garlicky green beans with small sliced mushrooms. The steak was covered by a tomato balsamic sauce and a garlicky aioli was provided for dipping the fries. Although both were filling meals, we couldn't pass up slices of cake made by their on-site baker. My wife ordered the pumpkin spice cake with a maple cream cheese frosting, and I ordered the five layer chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. The entrees and desserts were well prepared, but I encountered two problems with my food. First, the tomato balsamic sauce layered over the steak was cold. I quickly scraped it off to preserve some of the steak's warmth and ended up not eating the sauce. The second thing was that my cake was served soon after having been removed from a refrigerator. As a result, the chocolate flavor was muted by being chilled. Otherwise, we enjoyed our visit to Barado's On The Water where the wait staff members were welcoming and efficient.

Great night by the lake for dinner. Bar- Excellent- expresso martini, When they say this a house favorite they mean it!!... Food- Spectacular- Scallops with Porkbelly & rice. We opted to take desert home to eat by the pool... Carrot Cake under the stars later. You are missing out if you pass up Barado's 7-6-2024 Dropped the boat in the water for a few hours, then lunch with the family. Always, great food and drinks. The little one had a cheeseburger and fries, fish tacos, bacon cheeseburger, crab cakes, Three little pigs sandwich and of course the signature Espresso Martini...

Decided to hit Barado's on the Water for dinner, especially after seeing their special's menu. Ryan provided exceptional service. Poor guy was running around handling lots of tables and he still was attentive and friendly. The food, wow and amazing. Jamaican Apple BBQ chicken wings, some of the best tasting wings. Finger licking great. Scallops over rice also great. Calamari was good. Nicely flavored. DIJON Chicken dish was also very good. This place still has it. Was great for a Sunday funday kinda day. Highly worth your time and travel. Even saw some "family" as well as "large" friends groups there all celebrating or being together. Ps had to take home their special chocolate cake.

Wanted to try this well talked about restaurant for our spur of the moment evening out. Overall, we had a great time. Loved being able to sit outside near the water. I only snapped one photo of my carrot cake which was delicious!! We each had two cocktails, a poutine appetizer and I had a tasty salad with chicken, while my husband had a burger. The food was all good. The reasoning for 4 stars were the pricing of the drinks and the service. The drinks were small and hardly tasted like alcohol was even in them. The service was extremely slow. We were in no rush and arrived before the dinner rush and it still took over two hours.

My wife and I had a great dinner here on Halloween. I sat on the patio and watched Lake Oneida as I ate my salmon dinner. The place is really out of the way but it's an adventure to get there. Can't wait to eat there again.

We were looking for a relaxing dinner along the water and stumbled upon Barado's. While unassuming from the front, they have a gorgeous patio overlooking the water. Service was prompt and friendly. The menu had a good variety of fare that you'd expect from a water side restaurant. Everything we had was fantastic. The crab cakes were delicious with an amazing sauce. We had some fried shrimp that were perfectly battered (no photo). The Cobb salad was generous with perfectly cooked chicken (so many salads phone it in with overcooked, frozen chicken strips, but this was juicy and GREAT). Chicken tenders and fries were also perfectly fried and crave-able. We saw many other tasty items delivered to other tables, so we'll be sure to return to try them when they are in the area. Such a fun and unexpected treat!

After hearing a lot of positive feedback about this place, three of us decided to give it a try on a Sunday afternoon. You'd never know the place was there since it is located way back in the woods by a marina. But, we were pleasantly surprised to see that they were only half full, so we got a table immediately. Service was a bit slow, but we were in no rush. All told we were there for two hours with drinks, one app to share and three mains. Our server was pleasant and professional (Colleen G) and made us feel like old timers. The view was limited, but it was fun to people watch the various boaters going in and out of the marina. For drinks we had White Sangria (very good, not too sweet), and the Blueberry Lavender Lemonade and Strawberry Lemongrass Lemonade (much sweeter), Kona Big Wave draft (fresh!), a glass of Mondavi Pinot Grigio (just average) and for dessert two Nesspresso Martinis (less creamy than expected, but tasty enough. Food included a plate of calamari (perfectly prepared), butter-crumb haddock (huge portion and again perfect, and the salmon with the BBQ berry sauce on the side (a good thing side the flavor would have overwhelmed the salmon with too much. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back.

I honestly don't give out five stars very often! This was the third time I went to Barbados and they never disappoint! The food is on point every time! The waitresses are always so friendly and welcoming! All that paired with the boats and being outside is the perfect combination to be enough for a five star review!

The food at Barado's is absolutely delicious. We went on a Friday and were sat at the end of the patio closest to the water and it was gorgeous. There were 6 of us and we ordered apps, drinks, and entrees. Our server had an amazing personality but was gone with huge gaps in our service. We saw tables around us come and go - same size and smaller - and it was truly really frustrating. None of the other staff would even try to come and chat with us and we were sitting eager to catch someone's eye so we could close out and leave. All in all it's a Friday and they do get incredibly busy - but we were there at 5 trying to avoid this exact thing. Great place to go when you're not in a rush.

Love this place. Way in the middle of nowhere but the food is good as is the service. The atmosphere is nice. Better than bar food and a dive but the same welcoming atmosphere.

It's a great place to hang out after boating around the lake. The place is next to the dock. We seated next to the water very nice area and that time the weater so nice. I didn't expect much of the food since we are not in the city, but boy I was wrong. The server was very nice and fast. We ordered pork burrito that was amazing with bean salad on the side. Bean salad was so good and fresh! I ordered fried hadock, the fish was fresh as I expected. Another dish that we ordered was fish taco also yummy and fresh, the sweet potato fries was so good there's the sweet and bit of saltiness. I took of 1 star because of my sangria was too icy so bland. I would come here again when we passed by this place.

We can't say anything about the food because we were never served any. Our party of 3 waited nearly 2 hours for a dirty table right by the entrance. When we asked if there were any other seating options, the hostess rudely that was the only available table, despite all of the other clean, empty tables throughout the establishment. We left and found a much better dining option right down the road.

If I could give it 10 stars, I would. We had a fantastic night out for my son's 21st Birthday. The Staff and Owner accommodated us even though the birthday boy was running very late from work. They still sat us and took care of us all night long. We were served with smiles and grace. They surprised my son with a Special Birthday Drink! It was just amazing all around. Establishment was clean, food was delish, fresh out the kitchen and we just really loved everything about last night. We will absolutely be back!

Another great casual scenic restaurant on the west end of Oneida Lake. They have an outdoor seating area and a nice view over a channel off the lake. The food and drinks are great.

Friendly service, great food, fun atmosphere. Worth the occasional need to relax and be patient.

Went there for the first time on a Friday night and the fish fry was one of the best I have had in a long time. The service was excellent and our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable. The lovely owner came over to welcome us. We definetely will drive 45 minutes in the near future to visit again. Well worth it!

They had a line before they even opened. You do need your whole party to be seated, but you can give them your name while waiting. It was beautiful and sunny outside on the deck. Some tables have umbrellas, some do not, I was glad I wore my hat. Our server was very helpful and friendly and took our drink order at the same time as our food order since someone in our party had an appointment after lunch. I ordered the crab cake appetizer and ruby red shrimp. My friends ordered the crab cake sandwich. Do yourself a favor and get the sandwich, for almost the same price your crab cake on the sandwich will be twice the size of your appetizer. The sandwich also came with a side. My crab cakes were very tasty, but seemed to have a lot of filler and no really nice big chunks of crab. My shrimp was cooked very well, it came out nice and warm. I was kind of surprised that it was served in a paper container because all the rest of our food was on regular plates. The blueberry sangria special was very tasty, but seemed to have very little wine in it. It was enjoyable and service was very good, the food took a while to come out, but we could see how busy it was and everyone there was working very hard. I'll definitely be back, and try other items from the menu.

My wife and myself decided to try out Barado's On The Water this evening and our waitress (Colleen) was exceptional fantastic.

This place is literally my ultimate go to - The food is Always So Good and the Atmosphere can not be beat - I usually run into someone I know there The staff is on point with service and care

My office orders lunch here frequently and has come in for lunch on occasion. I always order the mezza platter which is always delicious. I tried a soecial they had once which was their twist on Banh Mi (a vietnamese dish) and it was not good, but other than that the mezza platter is my go to. The staff always seem friendly and appears to know a lot of their customers by name.

I knew from the moment I sat down that the service would be poor! I was waiting for my husband so I got sat first. Not one person came to ask me if I wanted a drink or if I was waiting for someone. Finally, my husband gets to the table and our waitress was " visiting" with another table. She left us waiting well over 5 minutes!!! Finally she takes our order. She does not deliver our food , someone's else does... No problem. We were sitting by the door that she had to pass several times and not ONCE did she check on us! Not even in passing!!!! There were other patrons who were getting all kinds of attention. We later figured out that there were many regulars here. People who park their boat and came into the restaurant. Those were the people that got the attention. We waited an equally long time for our bill and then waited another 15 minutes for her to come and take the bill. I will say that the food was excellent, but if you are not a boater or a regular at this restaurant, don't expect any service at all.

Last week I tried this again for lunch. It was a Wednesday at noon (they open at noon) and they already had several parties waiting. The Receptionst looked new and a little flustered. We gave our name and was like 3rd on the list. A party of 6 came after us and remarked they were on their lunch hour which I said good luck because we already had been waiting 15 minutes and were not seated. A waitress came out to help the receptionist and she was very gruff and happened to know the party of 6. Next thing we know the party of 6 was seated before us and several other parties that were ahead of them. That really ticked me off. We said something and we're finally seated. I didn't understand the whole thing seeing the place was empty and just opened and had many empty tables. Our waitress was the same one we had last time we had lunch here and is very good. I ordered the same thing the crab cakes with a side of fresh fruit. The wait was longer than last time but it was busier than last time we were here. Once delivered the crab cakes were missing the sauce on all our lunches so they had to go back. Then it started to pour and we had to take our plates and run inside. The food was good but the whole experience was off. I think we hit it on a bad day.

This was our first time at BARBADOS with a party of four adults and this is one of the finest spots to dine at. For a Friday night our wait was minimal and our table on the outside deck was perfect. Drinks were wonderful and our meals were outstanding. Very had working waitresses who never stop for a minute, to all of the staff just working together helping each other out for the benefit of the patrons. This is a hidden gem of a place and I will go back when I am in the area again!!! This place is a must see!!!!

With this gorgeous day, we wanted to eat outside. I had heard a few things about Barado's on the Water so we decided to try it out. We asked for an outside table and it did not disappoint. It was so nice being out in the sunshine today. Our server was awesome. We told her it was our 1st time so she gave us the run down on what the favorites are and some details on some of the specials. We ordered the Red Rock Shrimp appetizer. These were seasoned peel and eat shrimp with a side of melted butter. They were huge shrimp but honestly we didn't think there was much flavor. My son ordered a cup of Lobster Bisque and the Lobster Roll with fries. He demolished it all and said it was fantastic. I managed to steal a small taste of the bisque and it was really good. My friend had the Chicken Caprese Wrap with potato salad. He said the wrap was great. Especially loved that it was grilled up a bit. He said the potato salad was ok but not the best. I had the Crab Cake Sandwich with fries. The crab cake itself was really good and the sauce that was on it was incredible! The lettuce and tomato that were on it were incredible fresh. I usually pick them off because they are soggy or wilted but they were great. The sandwich was a little difficult to eat. It was a soft roll and the crab cake itself is soft so it didnt stay together very well. Fries were crispy. While everything was good, nothing left me feeling like I needed to go back. But, I did order dessert to take home. Desserts are fresh made and they vary each week. I am a sucker for good Key Lime Pie so I decided to try theirs. Omg I'm glad I did. I will go back for the pie alone. The flavors of the lime were fresh and vibrant. The home made graham cracker crust had hints of cinnamon. It was delicious. Best Key Lime Pie I've had in CNY. I brought my mom a piece of the Carrot Cake. My mom is super fussy so it's definitely a risk. She was floored and said it was incredible. Cake and frosting both delicious and perfect ratio of both. She especially loved that it was layered. So, check it out. You will love the atmosphere and service. Definitely get dessert! Even if you have to take it to go!

We stopped at this charming place on the way to Canada and were so happy we did! Our food was great and Alia our server was truly welcoming and made greta suggestions for our meal.

One of my favorite places. Food is always consistent.l Love the staff and the owners. They are always most welcoming. This was a weekly stop and sometimes more just depending. It was so close to home when we lived in NY. Great in the summer with a place to dock your boat and outside seating. We were thrilled when they decided to stay open year round. The wood fire kept it warm and cozy. So many good meals! The homemade desserts are to die for. The carrot cake seemed to get all the attention, but we will never forget Mandy's blueberry lemon pie! Cheryl and gang we miss you! Thanks for cooking for me and even recommending what I should order when I showed up with decision fatigue after a long day! Bob wants to know when the beef Wellington will be on the menu

The location was great. Nice to eat outdoors near the water, watch people dock their boats, and the food was good.

Told we had a 30 min wait, Waited an hour until it was dark, left very hungry. This was supposed to be my birthday dinner. We tried to make reservation but they would take one for parties under 6 people. Went and got Cisco burgers at a nearby restaurant. At least it was food.

Stopped here after kayaking and was pleasantly surprised. The service was fast and friendly. Food was tasty! I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos and I loved it. Big pieces of fish and very flavorful. People I was with ordered chicken tenders and a burger. Didn't hear any complaints from them either! We also started with the chips and spinach artichoke dip. Chips were house made, could've used more seasoning though. Overall great experience and I'll definitely be back!

I have visited this little gem many times. Usually with my friend but this time I took my daughter-in-law. She had a lobster roll that she said was excellent. I had the chicken fingers that were so big that I had enough for two more meals. It's a very unassuming little place with a very relaxing atmosphere. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. This is a must for anyone looking for outdoor dining.

I have been dining at Barado's on the Water since before they were Barado's on the Water. (They started as a small cafe in Brewerton - which was wonderful!) At the water, owners Cheryl and Chef Donna (RIP) created a wonderful place to go for a drink or two, good food and relaxing atmosphere. The seafood is always fresh, burgers are always huge and the specials list always plentiful. My family and I eat at the water almost weekly and we have never had a bad meal. In the summer ride over on your boat and enjoy the weather. In the winter cozy up to the bar and wood stove and warm up.

Barados on the water is open year round!!!!!! Went today to celebrate my birthday. Arrived around 2:30, sat at a cozy high top,in the bar, next to the wood stove. The fun, witty bartender was also our server. Enjoyed hot cider drinks, perfect for this wintery day. Started with fried calamari and their crab cakes. We all went for dinner entrees. Butter crumb haddock with a citrus beurre blanc, crispy duck breast with a pomegranate demi homemade! sweet potato gnocchi in a sage brown butter, and shrimp & andouille sausage gumbo. Vegetables of the day were roasted squash and brusselFood and service always special here. Support your local businesses!!

We are traveling to Waddington, NY for our son's Bassmaster College National Championship and went a little ways off of the beaten path to eat lunch on the water! Totally worth it! First, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and a super friendly waitress (who's husband is a Bass fisherman and big fan of Bassmaster), so she was excited to talk fishing with us! We sat out on a side porch on a canal! We started with the poutine, it was huge and so good! I had the lobster roll and my husband had a Turkey BLT, delicious! Great place and if we ever come back through we will stop again!

Food was very good, but took forever to come out, as in about 45 minutes for a simple burger and fish tacos. This wasn't a case of the kitchen trying to space out the courses as we hadn't even ordered any appetizers. Server was very pleasant and apologetic.

Each time I visit Barado's On the Water I receive excellent service and delicious food.

I love the atmosphere at Barbados but you got to love the bartenders, especially Erica she rocks and her drinks are the bomb! The blueberry mule is Amazing!!! The food is fabulous we always have a great time at Barbados !!

So, this place 1st time was amazing. Very co.fortsvle relaxing afternoon lunch atmosphere with a full. Evening night life in the summer. The food is just amazing!!!!! Crab cakes and the spicey stir fry is what I had and wow!!!!! I would definitely check this spot out. Only 4 stars because of cost can be a pricey lunch but totally worth it. Just means I cant go as frequently as I would like.

Food was great. Servers were great. Owner's husband butted into a conversation he didn't belong in. Not professional. I posted the same review on facebook and they blocked me. Be careful of facebook reviews. Apparently they screen them and block the ones they don't like.

Fun restaurant by the water; it gives you the impression that you are at a place in Florida, it even has an indoor tiki bar. The restaurant is large, and there are indoor and outdoor seating options, with some of the outdoor right by the water on the back. The menu is mostly tavern type food yet tasty and well prepared. The fish tacos were very good, with big chunks of haddock. The carrot cake was one of the best ones we ever had: very moist, with real homemade cream cheese frosting, and even with homemade whipping cream.

We came by boat and didn't know the exact location. We called and one of the employees guided us in. Everything from here was excellent. We were seated promptly in an outdoor area, waitress was attentive without being overbearing, and most importantly the food was delicious! Four of us had the butter crumb haddock with was moist, flavorful and cooked perfectly. We will definitely come back now that we know our way!!

Never had a bad meal! Recommend the lobster roll. I have gotten it almost every time and I just love it!
