"Some call Ronda the "city of dreams". But without drifting off into reverie, we are indeed talking about one of the most beautiful towns in Andalusia, where Bardal, not far from the impressive bridge over El Tajo de Ronda, is now a flagship of the local restaurant scene. Chef Benito Gómez, a Catalan by birth who has made Andalusia his home, cooks up creative cuisine, steering clear of gimmickry and labels. Recognisable flavours that have a connection to local tradition undergo a transformation in a subtle interplay of contrasts and textures. Diners are given a choice of two tasting menus, one with 16 and the other with 19 courses. Both come with wine pairing options and a trolley with a large selection of cheeses before dessert." - Michelin Inspector

A very welcoming atmosphere and very recommendable food. The wine pairings and the explanations with it were very informative. The whole experience was just great and very entertaining! Ordering tea after dinner was an experience on its own. We’ll definitely be back!

We have chosen Bardal for my birthday as we live in Marbella and it was nice to have a day in Ronda. The food was amazing, service was good (thought the staff was robotic and does not look welcoming ) and wine pairing was a huge disappointment. I mean it’s not our first experience in Michelin star restaurant with wine pairing and never ever I had to ask to top up the glass and even feel guilty about it 😒 The portions of wine and Champaign were ridiculously small, you could not even accompany food with it as literary was for one sip. Absolutely overpriced (100 euros pp, siх almost empty glasses for 16 course tasting menu), felt like a rip off when we received a bill for almost 600 euros. Not a pleasant experience, unfortunately 🙁

A well deserved two star Michelin restaurant. Not only is the food top notch, but the staff is outstanding!

Such an unforgettable experience. My husband and I decided to choose Bardal to celebrate our anniversary. We were greeted and seated in a room in the back when we walked in at 8pm. The room was very basic with white wall, white table cloths, a simple save with some dry flower on the table. No pics, painting, decorations. I though it was boring, but it actually had a purpose. The dishes were indeed the arts of the night, and all we focused on were the food, no other distractions. We reserved the Grand Bardal menu. And it came with about 26 dishes divided into starters, main courses, and deserts. We didn't get the wine pairing. We both got red wine by glass and the waiter was happy to accommodate. The first dish was the soup and we both got stuned with the explosion of different flavors and textures. At this point we know we picked the right place to celebrate our important occasion. Every single dish was a piece of art, inspired by international cuisines but using local/ Andalusian ingredients. One of the staff explained each dish carefully and show us how to eat. By the end of the savory course s, we both were very full. But the desserts were sooooo heavenly that we finished everything. The apple pie was wonderful. The service was top notch. Every detail was perfect. Beautiful silverwares, 100% linen table cloths/napkins, crystal glasses. Flawless culinary experience. Note: you will get full, so come hungry. Or order the small Bardal menu instead of the Grand menu. The whole experience will last about 4hrs (8-11pm) so don't rush.

One word: excellent. The food, the flavours, the wine pairings, the service, the setting. This was our introduction to Spanish star cuisine and we could not find a fault if we wanted. A menu at Bardal is the perfect follow-up to a visit to the Picasso Museum in Malaga. Because Benito Gómez and his outstanding crew achieve the same degree of abstraction (in terms of tastes and flavours) combined with a substantial concreteness that the painter does. This was really something...thank you.

One of the best food experiences in my life. Bardal from the chef Benito Gomez is an incredible choice in the hearth of Ronda. Strongly suggest that you take the menu with the paired wines as well. The restaurant is casual, but the food is spectacular and the chef Benito is super accessible.

I have been to many Michelin starred restaurants around the world but THIS WAS ONE OF MY BEST MEALS. EVER. The quality, consistency, technique and execution for all 21 dishes was done beautifully. Every plate was overflowing with flavours; the complexity and thoughtfulness was impressive, from appetisers right until the desserts. (We all know there are fine establishments out there that falter during the mains but Bardal maintained an air of excellence and sophistication throughout the entire experience). Instead of doing a traditional wine pairing, I asked their Sommelier to do a Xerez/Sherry pairing and every glass complemented and thoroughly elevated each course. I couldn't be happier with my experience and would recommend anyone to make a detour to the beautiful town of Ronda to indulge in a meal at Bardal. ¡Ole!

My visit was last year and this visit was still memorable because I never experienced this before in any fine dining restaurant Hospitality was good and the food experience was splendid but not mind blowing. The wine pairing was with great pleasure. At two courses my husband didn’t get the ‘additional side dish’ as it contained meat. I find that really not done for a restaurant, that they did not replace it with something else eg fish or poultry or even with a vegetable. It has been clearly communicated well in advance with my reservation. Why omitting a dish if I pay for the full menu price?!? A non-star does it even better
