"Exceptional ingredients from committed suppliers, staff wellbeing and the belief that our actions impact the lives of our peers: such are some of the topics that are regularly discussed by Grégoire Gillard and his team. In their suitably untreated, trendy street corner establishment, near the fish market, they conjure up their own vision of sustainable gastronomy. The surprise menu shines the limelight on the excellent produce of Brussels and the region, with an underlying commitment to respect the seasons, however short. Nature is what inspires chef Gillard’s creativity. For example, he may treat slow-cooked salmon trout to an Asian twist thanks to savoury nori leaf, crunchy black radish and hints of wasabi and soy. He wins us over with insightful, intense combinations rather than showy demonstrations, illustrated by Belgian buffalo ricotta, Jerusalem artichokes, truffle, coffee oil and lacto-fermentation jus. Each ingredient has a role to play and is designed to interact with the others to create fascinating dishes from the first to the last bite. The enticing wine list was compiled in accordance with the establishment’s dedication to sustainability. Each decision is taken after weighing the impact on the community and the individual, without forgetting the overriding quest for taste." - Michelin Inspector

We had an incredible experience at this restaurant - one of the best we have visited in Brussels. The dishes were both creative and delicious, but the highlight was the wine pairing. It elevated the meal to another level, and we really enjoyed it. The service was also great, making the entire experience even more memorable.

An absolutely amazing dining experience!! We booked a surprise menu and every dish we tasted was incredible. The flavors and textures were beautiful. It was the best meal of our entire trip and we are so happy we went. Would recommend pairing wine with each course, we really enjoyed that! The staff gave detailed explanations of each dish with a smile, they were so lovely. I would give more stars if google allowed it!!!

We took the Menu Degustation Course. All dishes were tasty and flavorful. The main ingredient of each dish was very fresh and well cooked. The most favorite dish for me and my partner are the same which is the pork. It was very crunchy and soft and juicy at the same time. We love that the remaining sauces were always left on our table in case you want more of them. Another thing that I love was that they offer half portion wine pairing which for me the right amount for the pairing of 8 glasses. The staffs were well trained. The ambient and atmosphere were casual and pretty lively. However, the restaurant is not that large & for us the table arrangement is quite packed.

Honestly, one of the best meals I have ever had. The langoustine ceviche topped with tomato sorbet that was infused with Tabasco was life changing. I hate tomatoes! I didn't think to take pictures of the entire meal but this place was really impressive. These pics were mid-meal and after the devastation. Sorry for the poor pics.

Well this is nice. This is good. After many tries I could finally get a table here- celebrating my ex landlord having sold the flat I lived in 2019-2022 in this neighbourhood. A very good 6 course menu. Started very well with appetisers and a ceviche like plate. Delicious! It continued well until the lobster 🦞 which had a complicated overworked taste - combined with a Sicilian wine that I will never drink again. But then came the lamb and heaven was here again. So I will return and give Barge a second chance - it was almost perfect

Fantastic ! Absolutely recommended. I had the chef lunch menu today. Amazing food, superb service. If I may give one extra suggestion is to make sure that waiter(s) can present the dish in Flemish as well.

I am grateful that they have accomodated me as a solo diner; that meant they gave away one seat that night. The place is less than 5 minutes walk from the metro; a corner restaurant which has a very cosy vibe. I like the interior and it is very pleasing to the eyes. The service is great if you come in early; I believe as the night progressed, the service deteriorated because they had more people to attend to. But it was not bad at all. I just think that it is weird to see a young waiter run around the restaurant; looking a little stressed. Apart from that, I think I was treated well as a customer. The food was mostly great! I could have easily eaten the tiny plate of tomatoes and brown crab - actually five plates of them! That dish alone was Michelin worthy! I also think that some dishes specially the amuse bouche were on the salty side. I know there are people who appreciate that flavor profile but it wasn’t for me. However, the desserts are heavenly! I loved every bite of them! When you order a five-course meal, you actually get more than ten! So they are worth the money! It is a great restaurant for celebrating a milestone or maybe just enjoying great food with the dear ones!

We went to the restaurant's pop up last night and enjoyed every bit of it. The service was impeccable and the food beautifully presented and executed. Only thing I would change is the last dessert, which lacked in sugar. Otherwise great experience!

Yelp
This was an amazing dining experience! I cannot say enough good things about the food, service and ambiance. The staff was professional, friendly, and not overbearing. We opted not to get the wine pairing since we were concerned about drinking too much. From beginning to end, it was a feast for the eyes and taste buds. I highly recommend if you are looking for a night that is memorable for food and the dining experience.
