BarRoom, at Dick & Jane’s

Finally getting around to writing a review for one of my favorite bars in Brooklyn. The decor blends old school neighborhood bar charm with subtle modern touches, but it still feels warm and homey. During the day it’s bright inside, and at night it turns into a moody, intimate setting filled with conversation and / or people singing. The space is small and fills up quickly, so I recommend getting there early if you want a seat because there isn’t a ton of seating inside. Now onto the food. The menu is classic bar food like wings, burgers, and fries. For wings, I’ve had both the Sticky Mezcal and the Shaquanda wings. The Sticky Mezcal wasn’t my favorite, but I loved the Shaquanda wings. If they were fried a bit harder, they would be perfect. I’ve also had the burger, which was good, but for the price point I do wish it came with something on the side. Drinks wise, I’m a creature of habit and always order the Ginbella. This is genuinely the only place that got me into drinking gin. I will say, though, the portion to price ratio feels a little off lately. It seems like the drink has been served in a smaller glass recently, and at a $15 price point, I do wish it was a bit more. Also to my expresso martini lovers, the ones here are also very good. They have different DJs in rotation, so the music can be a hit or miss depending on the night. In the many times I’ve been here, I’ve heard hip hop, R&B, and some old school reggae. As for the crowd, this is definitely more of a 27+ vibe. Between the music and the overall vibe , it feels catered to that age range and up. All in all, you’ll catch me here year round. It’s a great spot for girls night, guys night, a pregame, watching a game, or even as an after stop for a date night.

Ive visited Dick and Jane's a few times. Each time the music, drinks and atmosphere were good. I havent had the luck of eatting there yet so I cant rate that. Every Tuesday they host an R&B night which i think is dope (with an actual DJ, not a playlist). Drinks are basically $20 each. It gets crowded on the weekends. The weekdays are less crowded. I enjoy coming here because its local and black owned. Definitely will continue to visit.

I’ve tried to give this place multiple chances because my husband likes the music and it’s failed everytime. While the music is always great. Coming from someone experienced in the service industry, the bar set up is unappealing, get someone that knows how to set up your bar. The drinks are always terrible, making a good gin & soda should never be hard, proper pours are important and the service has always been horrendous. The bartenders are disgustingly rude no matter which one or how polite you try to be. They all need customer service training. Your location is too good for your bar to be this bad.

This is a cool spot and often has a great crowd. You can catch the football games on the projector. Please be warned, they force a 20% gratuity on your bill even just sitting at the bar. Maybe they do this because people don't enjoy tipping for extremely slow service which you will probably encounter. (The bartender with the glasses is pretty good though) On top of that, they nickel and dime you with a 2.5% credit card surcharge. I have never seen that at a bar before.

The experience at Dick and Jane’s is authentic, warm, and fun. We had awesome waiters that continued to show up for us even as our party kept expanding. The DJ had a diverse range of music suitable to our guests and the food selection was decent with a few options . Drinks were served quickly and taste well too.

On 1/23/26 my black queer friends were told that there were too many men in their group by security and was ultimately given a hard time before being let in. The slap in the face was walking inside and seeing that the place wasn't even packed! There was a mixed crowd of both men and women but wasn't heavily packed with men. The reason this policy feels more targeted and homophobic is because this wasn't the first instance. This also happened 10/10/25, and my friends were only let in after telling security that I (a woman) would be joining the group shortly. Again to walk in and see a very mix crowd. My gut tells me that if my friends weren't visibly queer they would not have encountered these issues. In fact, 2 more friends (men) joined later and wasn't told anything about there being too much men in their group. I'm disheartened by this, especially as a place that treasures itself as being a space for black people. I guess it's only a space if you're black but not visibly queer. My friends and I spent many summer nights here and spent so much of our black dollars to pour into this business. We got to know the staff and told other friends & colleagues to come to a bar that we thought at the time felt like a safe space. Unfortunately, that no longer is the case - I refuse to spend my money in a space that doesn't make ALL black people feel welcomed. I would also like to add that one of my friends that was in this group sent an email 1/25/26 to express his concerns. To date, there has been no response.

I’ve lived in the community for about 4 years , I’ve watched dick and Jane’s go from a community space to an enlisting space. I’ve had the best unfortunate experience of being of going to dick and Jane’s on a Saturday night. The “bouncer” at the front door was extremely aggressive. I check instagram pages etc to set expectations for the night. The bouncer denied access for a night that was night notified before. In the recent months that I’ve been to dick and Jane’s this attitude has been apparent. For a space that included all identities I do not feel safe in the space. I’ve been contributing to the space for years and no longer will. I hope that they can get back to the community

Overall rating: 4.7 Really cute date spot that’s great for solo too. I went here on a bad date, altho I would have preferred to go by myself! The food was goodish, I personally like the atmosphere and service more. The croquettes were good. The pasta was good, but I’ve had better. I would like to try other items next time. I loveeeee the dessert!! It was soo good. I think it was some rice pudding or something. Whatever had the blueberry. I’d definitely want to try again for just drinks. And see how the night is on a Friday night.

I had a blast would definitely recommend if you wanna get it decent cocktail and dance. Great ambiance. My only thing is it gets crowded here after midnight on Saturdays. I say still check it out. They're also have updates on instagram if you're curious to see what going on any particular evening.

Gotta say, this spot is top tier. Somehow it manages to feel modern while still keeping the true vibe of the neighborhood. On my first visit Dick and Jane's really felt like Bedstuy in the best ways. Drinks? Fire. Service? Even better. Music and overall vibe? 10/10. I even spotted a couple of celebs in the mix (not naming names ) just chilling like everyone else, which made the night even doper. I stuck with the Brooklyn Stoop Sipper all night (bourbon + honey + some other stuff I can't quite remember) and it did not miss. The food we shared was solid too... even though I can't remember everything we ordered. I'm definitely returning soon.

It was a nice night here. The chicken wings and fries were actually quite good. Ordered the Mezcal Cocktail a few times. The thing is, only Alex made it to our liking. The young ladies behind the bar could not get it right like he did. In fact, if he was not there we would have only ordered 1 instead of the 8 drinks we eventually had because of Alex's bartending skills. Would gonbelacknifnhe is there, if not, there are plenty of other good bars in the neighborhood. Definitely will return.

Not gonna lie this place is a vibe! Loved the upscale ambiance and the drink selection is top tier. Gives a grown and sexy vibe. Late 20s and 30s would love it here, I did! Great mix of dancing space and seating. Service got slower as it got more crowded but the wait staff was always pleasant and the drinks were on point. Definitely coming back here.

We stopped in for some food and drinks before going out for the night, and they didn't disappoint. We tried all their wings available, and while they were delicious I could use a little more spice on Shaquanda's. I also got a side of the bbq sauce and I need that tossed on a wing ASAP! The drinks were well mixed too, I would definitely come back when I'm in town.

Finally tried Dick and Jane's after hearing about it for some years. Initially I thought it was a white local bar, so truthfully, it wasn't what I was looking for in a neighborhood known for its rich Black history. Welp! I was wrong. This Black-owned bar is a vibe. The night I went there was a live DJ playing funk all night, mezcal wings, and the best tequila cocktail that I can't remember the name of It's a small(er) venue. I can see why it's a local favorite. Are the wings the best? No. Do they work? Absolutely! Next, I want to try their dip and ofc I'll do the wings again because wings at a bar are jist the perfect duo. Very cute and very moody spot for a night out with the gals or with bae. The service was very good. Our waitress was a doll!

Dropped in for a drink ! And it did not disappoint. I will def be coming back! The bartenders are super friendly and it's a nice chill environment. Ambiance : 4/5 very nice and spacious with ample seating. Good music. I'd like to hear more r&b and dancehall it maybe on a different day when I come back. Service: 4/5 The bartenders were very attentive as soon I walked in and came to the bar they already handed me a glass of water and was ready to take my order. Which I appreciated. Food: I didn't try anything the kitchen was closed when I arrived. But I will for sure be coming back to try something !

Great ambiance, great drinks, AMAZING MUSIC. If you like old school Djs and RNB this is the place. Mix of all ages. Fun neighborhood lounge spot

My friends and I came to Dick and Jane's Barroom the other day after pilates for a quick drink and snack. I've been here before but it was on Sunday night during football season and it was definitely a nice vibe. This go round it was a more chill vibe which we enjoyed so we could catch up with one another. Our server Robert was great, he was very attentive and knowledgeable of the drinks and menu. He recommended the Ginbella, which is a popular favorite. He was spot on because it was delicious and I'd come back for more. He also mentioned to us that their cocktails are curated and made batch style which is good to know because you won't be able to switch out ingredients if wanted or if they run low on a drink. So be sure to ask before ordering your drink to make sure they have it. We had our drinks with some fries which came out hot and fresh. One of my friend's ordered a chop cheese type sandwich which smelled and looked amazing. I will have to try it next time I go back.

Came for my birthday. I wanted something laid back, with sexy older crowd vibe. When you pull up the restaurant it's quaint looks like a beautiful neighborhood dinner/ lounge spot. I met some neighbors who were equally charming as I was trying to figure out which door was the entrance. Upon entering the restaurant was just as quaint the bar was the central point and there was ample seating. We had a nice cosy corner spot. We started with drinks I had a Ginbella which is Gin, lemon, passionfruit, Bianco Vermouth and Triple Sec. My friend had a Wright Martini but didn't like it and changed to a dirty martini. Next we ordered a Kale Salad which included Anchovy Filets, Sun Dried Tomatoes and Honey Dijon Dressing; and the charcuterie board which is Chef's Selection of Three Meats and Three Cheeses. It also included three baked pretzels and fig jam. The anchovies made the salad it added the right bit of savory to each bite and tasted quite fresh We then both ordered the steak frites the fries were rosemary fries but it was so disappointing the Fry's didn't have essence of rosemary on them. It was just rosemary salt added to the fries. The steak didn't have any real flavor and my steak was was medium well instead of medium. I was disappointed as this was a birthday dinner on my birthday. I will probably go back to try brunch .

Food when it came as ok. How do you out a food ticket in and then after 20 min say you ran out. How do you order fries and 20 min later they come out cold. Smfh never again.

I tried. My friend was served RAW Branzino, like how?!? They mitigated the issue and bought out a new plate but, that's enough to traumatize me. That. Is. All... Update!!!! I've been 3 xs post my second and third review. Went there for drinks and Afro beats, for their Anniversary celebration and again for drinks and dessert and I can now proudly say, with new management and a hard working staff D&T's finally got it right. We'll done! Go here!!!

Visited on a weeknight after work. Specifically for the oyster happy hour they have on Wednesday's. Cute, well decorated space! Their music was also great and played at the perfect volume. We sat at the bar-- though it wasn't to busy, with a few tables taken both inside and outside. Started off with a glass of cava, followed by a French 75. Friendly bartender who also took our food orders. Oysters were fresh and tasty but I had some little shell pieces in my oysters which I dislike. The burger was perfectly cooked to medium and the fries were tasty. My friend enjoyed her pasta too! All of our items came out in a timely manner.

This is my 2nd time here. Both times the service, food, and ambiance were two thumbs up. I made reservations and arrived shortly after opening hours. The host quickly seated me and a friend in a cozy corner where we had a chance to view the menu and enjoy the music playing in the background. Without much wait, the server greeted us and took my order. I had the tea-time cocktail, and we shared the deviled eggs, cesar salad, steak/fries, and trout. Everything was cooked to perfection! The service and food were so good that I gave a very generous tip. I'm sure you will do the same. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Perfect for dates, dinner with friends or just a date by yourself. This review is mainly about the food. The staff at Dick and Jane's is always friendly and attentive. If you want a chat at the bar, they've got you covered. If you want to be left alone, they get that too. You won't have to ask twice for things either. The wine list is solid and the cocktail menu is creative. I love the low lighting of the interior, which makes for an intimate setting. It can get packed in there on weekends, so reservations if you're looking for more than a solo seat at the bar are recommended. I've tried quite a few things on the menu here, and more often than not it just doesn't hit the mark. Everything is a little unseasoned and lacking in flavor. The steak skewers can be perfectly cooked, but the chimichurri sauce on top is left to do the heavy lifting because the steak is under seasoned. The branzino was cooked well, but again, missed seasoning and flavor. My last burger, ordered medium, was cooked a degree beyond well done and I was too hungry to send it back. While that may be on me, a medium burger shouldn't be a difficult task at a place like this. The person next to me said they had the same experience recently with their steak. I will say that the lobster mac is pretty good, but that's heavy fare you're not eating everyday. I'll continue to be a patron here for the drinks and French fries, but it may be a minute before I venture to the food menu again. Hopefully they can find their rhythm soon.

Music is great Amazing space Beautiful decor DONT ORDER SHOTs!!!!' I was extremely upset no one told me 12 shots of house bourbon was $180; that's out of this world!!!!! I'm a restaurant manager and order product; LETS BE REAL!!! One of those shots is more than the bottle! I understand it's not the bartender who owns the spot or makes up the price, but a warning would have been NICE!!

I want to start off saying 10 stars for the service. I was super happy to see a new addition to the hood and welcome new food to come set up roots here because I am dying for variety! We sat outside and our server was cute with her faux freckles. And being from South, I love a good shrimp and grits and they had their version, which was shrimp and polenta. The shrimp wasn't seasoned well and the polenta was dry AF. Like I felt super parched and I just couldn't do it. But a rando passed by and asked me how the food was and I was like eh, not great and boom he fixed my food. It tasted so much better after he fixed it, but I still prefer Peaches' version. I want to say I will still come back to try other things since C liked the burger but I definitely want to try out their dinner options. Place is cute and so I don't want to rule this place out and plus I want to add another restaurant to my roster.

Went here on a Sunday night. We got a table for 3 easily. I'm familiar with the other 2 locations so I was excited to see how this location would compare. They have done a nice job with the decor but I still miss Casablanca though. Aimee was our waitress and she was so nice. A male waiter assisted too and he was nice and attentive as well. The music was a nice touch. Current and urban selections. For dinner we ordered a few small plates. We started with the Deviled Egg Flight - you get 4 and can pick from bacon, caviar, chive and classic. We opted for 2 bacon, 1 classic and 1 chive. Just want to say that NO dish at this restaurant is under seasoned. But the deviled eggs had a heavy mustard, or vinegar or horseradish flavor; it wasn't bad but it was pungent, especially for the classic deviled egg. I will say that the bacon deviled egg was the best. The saltiness of the bacon complimented the acid in the deviled egg. I liked them but would only get the bacon deviled egg. We also ordered the brussel sprouts - they were tasty and I feel like there was salt on the onions but again tasty. The rosemary fries were good. We ordered 2 of those. Great flavor. My friends didn't care for the Watermelon Salad. They wouldn't order it again. There was a lot of liquid in the bowl for the few pieces. There was also feta cheese, cucumbers, melons and cantaloupe. The melons were sweeter than the watermelon, since they aren't in season. Lastly we got the steak skewers. There were delish. Love chimichurri. Would order those again. I ended the evening with the Rose Gold cocktail. Great mix of Absolut, aperol, wray & nephew, hibiscus and pineapple. Highly recommend, if you can handle it. Positives: great cocktails, delicious small bites, good aesthetic vibe curation, much needed location, half the bartenders are super friendly and lovely, *sometimes* outdoor seating. Negatives: random and unreliable hours, unpredictable outdoor seating (sometimes there just won't be tables set up outside, or only one), a few bartenders are great but a few are 2010-era dicky. All in all, I recommend stopping by, but be aware that there's clearly some shoddy management.

BK got all the cool spots..this bar was cool with with very cool bartenders..the margarita was good the music they place is great I shall return!!!

I've been eyeing this place for awhile. It's located where Casablanca used to be, so I was excited to stop by and give it a chance. Over I'd give them a true 3.5 over 3 stars. Atmosphere and music- 5/5 Cute spot. Still gives the same vibe as Casablanca. I enjoy the moody/dark decor and dim lights. Bless whoever was in charge of the playlist when I was there. When I first arrived they were playing Lauryn Hill classics then pivoted into a Teyana Taylor hits playlist. I was happily singing along the whole time I was there Food- 3.5/5 The food was okay. My partner and I preferred our entrees over our appetizers. For apps we ordered the focaccia bread and steak skewers. The focaccia arrived first and had a fine, nothing to rant or rave about. It was served with olive oil. The skewers arrived AFTER our entress came out which was less than ideal. They lacked seasoning and barely had any chimichurri sauce on them. I ended up taking them home and adding my own sauce to elevate them. For entrees, we both ordered the burger. For a $2 upcharge you can add bacon, gruyere or cheddar cheese, we opted for gruyere. The burger was nicely season and was served medium like we ordered! It comes with rosemary fries or a salad. We not got fries and they were underwhelming and needed more salt for my liking. Drinks- 3/5 This was the most frustrating part of my experience. I honestly I only stopped by after looking at their online menu and being impressed by their cocktail menu. Unfortunately the menu online is outdated and is not the same as the cocktail menu in the restaurant. I was very unimpressed by the in person menu. I felt validated when another guest at a nearby table bought up the same complaint to the waiter. I flagged down the bartender who ended up making me a mezcal margarita which was good. My partner got the Tequila drink which they enjoyed. I tried it and it was way to sweet for my liking. Overall my experience was okay. Honestly the ambiance and the music were the highlights of my visit. As a cocktail lover, I doubt I'll be back. If you're looking for good cocktails nearby, I'd recommend Mama Fox or Marian's over this spot.

I've only been waiting 32 minutes for my drink... but who's counting ‍ Happens every time... every single time ‍

The music is great , nice ambiance . But ... the food is nasty, and the drinks are weak . I love margaritas and it was really watered down. I had maybe a few drinks and I didn't feel a buzz... you would definitely have to pregame somewhere else and go here for the music. Drinks were expensive too but not worth it . I loved the huge ice cubes though . A few of the girls I met in the bathroom lol said the same thing . Maybe work on that or at least have cheaper prices if you keep the drinks weak and I think it will be perfect .

Exceptionally bad service. We were told they would let us know when there was a table and then saw a walk-in get seated. At the bar it took 15 minutes for someone to ask us and we had to ask for water. Finally we got our drinks and attempted to get the host's attention. I made eye contact with her several times, she walked away. I said excuse me several times, she outright ignored me. We decided when we finally got our drinks that we'd had enough. We again had to hound the bartender for any eye contact or acknowledgment in order to close out. It's okay to be overwhelmed and to need a minute to get a drink or order, but you should acknowledge people's existence. Bummed because the drink was good and the food looked and smelled nice!

Really cute spot for a hang with friends or a date. The outside seating area is perfect for those summer nights. The old staff? Amazing! There have been some recent changes to the staff including bartenders, chefs and waitresses, and yes you can feel the difference. The foods that I used to recommend were the steak skewers, burger, and the green beans.

Hours are not consistent. Call this place before you go. Otherwise, I've been a few times and menu changes often so enjoy it while it lasts.

Met up with a friend here, great ambiance and great food. Would definitely come back.

I would rate this restaurant 3.5 stars. The ambiance was great- classy and sexy in a space that was once an understated dance club. The service was great- the staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was okay. It was almost elevated bar food. Nothing wowed me. The bread was definitely warm and crusty the whipped ricotta was tasty too. The salmon tartare was salty and pungent but not quite briny or bitter. For my main course I ordered the oxtail pappardelle the pasta was perfectly Al dente. The sauce was okay, it left something to be desired. Overall, I would revisit and order new menu items hoping to elevate my experience.

I live in the neighborhood and I had a great experience. This spot is doing elevated bar food (essentially high quality restaurant food) without being pretentious or overpriced. I am happy to have this in the neighborhood, as I think something like this was missing. I will be back often. First, you walk in and immediately notice the beautiful restoration of what used to be Casablanca for many decades. The space is warm and cozy. Also, there is plenty of good outdoor seating. We sat at the bar and ordered a pair of gin martinis, and trout and mussels for mains. We could have ordered a starter, but the two mains were sufficient. Everything we ordered was excellent. The food was flavorful and well presented. I disagree with many of the other reviews on the quality of the food, but this restaurant is new and maybe they were still figuring things out. Staff was attentive and friendly. We paid $105 after tax and tip (two people). I like that the menu is not huge. I'm excited to try the half chicken and the burger on future visits.

My pregnant wife was just illegally denied entry into the bar for our friend's birthday party. Bouncer said he was not allowed to let in pregnant women after 10pm. Never witnessed anything like this in my life. Never coming here again.

I think I had my eye on this bar for awhile or had at least heard of it from most likely other Yelpers. I had an event a block away and ended up being about 20 minutes early and didn't want to wait outside so popped in to see what this place is all about. Really large open bar with exposed brick, wood floors, nice booths along the walls, nice bar stools. It looks like a swanky saloon. I was sold. The menu was digital but I got over it and was told that cocktails were all $10 on happy hour. I'm not sure what the situation with beer was but that seemed a reasonable deal for a fancy drink. I can't seem to find an updated menu for their drinks online but I had something called a "Netflix and chill" I think beverage of sorts. It was made with Candy Corn bourbon which caught my eye. Kind of a twist on an old fashioned and she served it with a very tiny tin pail of popcorn which was unexpected. Dinner and a drink. Hotdog! It was very subtle in the sweetness and a great yet extremely potent beverage. I definitely showed up to my event tipsy. But hey. Their food menu sounds decadent and slightly fancy but delicious: Lobster mac and cheese, a Ratatouille burger, deviled eggs, fries seasoned with rosemary, caviar and chips. Caviar?! I sadly did not try any food other than the popcorn tin but really nice bar/restaurant. If I'm ever in the area again, definitely checking them out.

Short version: 2 meals, 2 drinks - about $40 per person. It's going to be a go to, I regret nothing and maybe should have had another drink. It's black-owned (so I'm told). Go! The acoustics were good, can have a close convo that isn't being overheard by someone next to you. The ambience is nice, it's charming and is great for a friend night but romantic enough for a cute date night too. The energy is fun yet a lil fancy. Portion sizes were right, you will leave full. The drinks were balanced and we asked the bartender to make something with mezcal that was fun and refreshing and he came back with this delightful, citrus drink that was so different than a margarita but still really good. Tequila Drink cocktail: I like the experience of it. The grapefruit and the apricot almost taste like pineapple - very I'm going out with the girls vibe. Tea Time cocktail: My boyfriend ordered this, he said, and I quote "I feel like a British person drinking tea but with alcohol because you know those English are drunks - it's good." I, for one, felt fancy when I picked up the cup, very grandma but make it fabulous. Got tuna tartare, a burger, and the brussel sprouts. Tuna tasted fresh and well seasoned. The acidity of the pickles were a nice touch. The chips were good with the tuna. I want a damn bag of the chips. Fries are good, in need of a touch of salt but I'm a picky bitch when it comes to the perfect french fry. Burger was great, asked for medium well and got that. I'm still confused as to why they bring burgers with no sauce or mayo, maybe this is some New York shit? I don't know. We eat mayo where I'm from, god help a miracle whip eater. We finished all the food, it's officially my new favorite local spot. Utica is iffy when it comes to food and this is a great addition.

The vibe was really cool in here. It's the old Casablanca after hours spot. They did a great job with the place. Ambiance for sure. Great date spot or a place to chill out with a few friends. Drinks were great too. The only wish I had was for a wider selection of Japanese Whiskey but that's a preference of mine. Definitely going to return. I'll take pics next time too.

We were excited to try this spot but overall I wasn't impressed by the experience. Staff Staff was very sweet and hustling best they could. Seating We had a reservation but no table had been saved for our time so we had to wait 40 minutes. The hostess comped our first round which was nice - but I can't remember a time I've had to wait for a reserved table. Drinks Can't complain Food Eh. For a $24 cheeseburger I was expecting to be impressed and was not. Rest of the dishes were decent but pricey for what they were. We'll probably stick to Chez Oskar down the street

Food is mid. Owners and management have little to no integrity. For a promoted Black owned establishment that claimed to care about the community, they only prioritize making money at the bar and accommodating their friends. Highly disappointing use of an iconic space.

Was refused a side salad. Was between a burger with a side salad and two appetizers. Went with two apps, was informed much later that one of the apps was 86'd. Was trying to be conscious of my greens so asked for a 2nd choice app with a side salad. Can't do the side salad - "not on the menu." I then asked about the greens that I would have had, had I ordered the burger. Response: "sir, please just order something from the menu." Sheesh! Charge me for another beer, idc. It's not a tall ask. Won't be back.

Cousin and his fiancé were in town for a quick weekend visit. We wanted to celebrate his birthday by taking him out for Sunday brunch. It was freezing that day, so it definitely had to be some where local. I walk past this place almost everyday and have been meaning to give it a try. I am glad that we did. Since Sunday is a very big brunch day in Bed Stuy, I was afraid that they weren't going to be able to seat us. I guess since we went early enough, they were able to. Very nice ambience and a most enjoyable experience the entire time - from the time we walked thru the door until we left. The waitstaff was progressional but also warm and approachable - they definitely knew the menu and were very helpful with suggestions/recommendations. There were four of us, and we were all very satisfied with our selections. I don't have anything negative to say or complain about. But if I did, it would only be that the French Toast I had was very delicious, but left me wanting more. I left very satisfied; not stuffed. If you are looking for another quality establishment in the neighborhood to dine, most definitely give Dick and Jane's Barroom a try. And please don't be afraid to ask your server questions - I'm allergic to bananas. And had we not asked what type of fruit was included with the French toast, this would have been a very different review. I forgot to take photos of our meals. But if our meals were any indication of all the dishes they sell, you won't and can't go wrong.

This is the best restaurant in Bedford Stuyvesant. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere.

Very excited about Dick and Jane's opening in Bed Stuy reviving a corner with a beautiful bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and lovely (I think) original ceilings. Went on a random Wednesday night and there was still a decent stream of customers. Very friendly and attentive staff, food and drinks were amazing and well-prepared. Just snacked at the bar with drinks, but will be back for dinner! Some suggestions: Fries could be cooked a bit longer, would expand more of their bar snacks menu, and consider having a happy hour--this would make this place and absolute regular for me!

Spectacular food! We come here all the time; really great vibes and a lovely spot.

The ambiance is killer: spacious, warm lighting with a dive-y aesthetic-- except there are green leather banquettes on one half and tight jazz trio playing right by the door. The food and cocktails are spot-on & decently priced. My only deduction was the service-- the staff was very friendly but they kept forgetting about my table, and it was unclear if the host was also taking orders (?) Definitely recommend making a reservation for a Friday night as it fills up fast. Would go back!

Beautiful spot! I loved the sophisticated lounge vibe there. But the FOOD! OMG! The food and service were PHENOMENAL! I went at the suggestion of a family member and Dick & Jane's Bar Room did not disappoint! There were 3 of us, so we all tried something different: The crispy chicken dish, it was superb! Very juicy & flavorful. We also had the steak frites (the steak was cooked to medium PERFECTION and the herb butter...chef's kiss!) and the juicy cheese burger (yes cheddar is better!) All of the dishes were delicious and we topped it off with a panna cotta for dessert...you gotta try it! Overall, this was an awesome experience. Also, the service was great! Can't wait to come back!

The food and service at this spot is Excellent!! And the vibe is always on point. My go to place in Brooklyn.
