Came on Valentines Day and it was super fun! There was a live band, bar games like Connect 4, Jenga and plenty of shots to go around! Our server was perfect! It was a great night!

Google
Huge barstool fan, we went for Surviving barstool finale night and here's the details. Who ever is in charge of reservations is TERRIBLE I tried the day before the day if at 9am 11am 4pm no info on reservation. They open at 4pm I called 10times from 4to6 NO ANSWER. I'm so disappointed on the no communication on a busy night oh that's right we take the chance and go no more than 12 people total in the bar. Atmosphere was dead not busy no band playing the I'd checker he didnt even know about Survivor barstool. It was expensive and lame. Should have stayed home to watch Dave lose. Chicago barstool is a no for me. Fix your reservation setup and answer the phone.

Went here on a Thursday night. Saw they had live music, which drew us in and the band sounded great. Only had a couple beers. Prices were good. Didn't try any food but would definitely come back for that and some more live music.

Google
Cool bar to hang out and grab a drink. We stayed and the bar and service was good. We'll be back.

Google
the service at this bar is atrocious. Our group sat at our table for over an hour and the waitress asked half our table for their food order and ignored the other half. it could be such a great bar if it had a more competent staff. Absolutely will not be returning after the service that was shown. Farmers bar around the block had a better atmosphere and a better staff.

Google
Came in late on a Sunday night after Lollapalooza. unfortunately, they weren’t serving food, but we were able to grab a few drinks. We were happy that they had live music with a guy playing country and taking a bunch of requests.

DO NOT go here unless you pay cash only! The bartender compromised my credit card and passed my card to another woman that I had just met. Very stupid bartender! Seems like they are disorganized and I read a review from 2 weeks prior that it also happened to another guy and he didn't notice in time and the person the bartender gave the card to went on a shopping spree flushing down all his funds. First time I've ever seen a business do shady things like that. Accident or not do not trust the bartender with your credit card at the bar!

Friendly staff, good atmosphere, fun live music. I recommend the Big Cat'ini! #barstoolsrivernorth #rivernorth #chicago #espressomartini #gracebucholtz #gracebucholtzexp

Yelp
Stoped by late on a Saturday night and was able to get service quickly at the bar, but after was way slower once seated. There was a country band playing that night and they were good. It was a little too loud to talk while the band was playing but we didn't mind since it was only a handful of songs! Fun place to check out and say you've been to!

Yelp
Can I rate this place 0 stars? I'm truly still so upset about how we got treated. We ordered two drinks: vodka soda with cranberry and a vodka soda. Can you guess our total?? It was $62. I almost threw up. Over $30 a drink????? That's just inhumane. But want to know the worst part? David ordered at the bar, and we were sitting at a table 1 second from the bar. This bartender came over and kicked us out of the table because we didn't have a tab open with her. So we moved over to a booth table and 1 minute later the same waitress came over and kicked us out again because "future people" will want to sit there. I was fuming because we just paid $60 for 2 drinks and we were getting treated like this!!!! Where the heck are we supposed to sit!! Long story short, we will absolutely never go back here. I still can't believe how awful we got treated. I neverrrr make posts like this, but this was so bad I truly had too.

Yelp
Never thought I'd be reviewing a barstool bar but here we are. This place was a great time. We popped in for drinks before a UFC fight and ended up staying through the main event. The live music was amazing. The drinks came quick and our bartender/waitress was on her game. She was awesome to our group of disorganized humans. The crowd was fun too. Not mad at all about spending 4 hours here

Yelp
After dropping my son and his girlfriend off at the House of Blues for a show this weekend I needed a spot to eat dinner and have a couple brews. Barstool was the perfect choice after randomly coming across it. I was able to enjoy sports as I ate wings and have a couple drafts at the bar. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I ordered the wings with hot sauce on the side along with ranch, carrots, and celery. The wings were very big but tended to be overly chewy and sinewy. The sauce was good and of course the beers were cold and delicious. Definitely an awesome spot for watching a game but I would try something else off the menu next time.

Lexi M.

Yelp
We had to come in this spot to check it out! My fiancé watches and listens to all the barstool shows/podcasts so we had to pop in to check it out. The Italian Beef egg rolls are a MIST TRY! We needed up coming back for the Ohio State and Michigan game and MAN that place had some energy. It was nice to go to an actual sports bar with sports fans while watching the game.

Gabby Z.

Yelp
nice spot for football sunday. get their early as there won't be any seating available later. we got seated and enjoyed some white claws and got some food to munch on. got wings with fries and also got tacos. everything was really good and the service was really good as well. the music is nice and the inside is decorated nice as well. very clean.

Emily M.

Yelp
Went here to watch the March Madness championship with some friends from out of town. It's a great environment to watch sports with lots of TVs. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be for a championship game, probably because they're not open Mondays, but made an exception for the game. Since my friend's were visiting from DC, I made sure we ordered the Italian Beef Egg Rolls, to give them a little taste of Chicago. They were delicious and I would come back just for those! It's definitely a cool experience being here for a huge game. Our service was a little slow but we still had a good time and enjoyed our night!

Nikhita T.

Yelp
Barstool is our go-to spot after a great dinner! It's a lively sports bar where you don't need reservations; we usually just walk in. The large bar and DJ playing awesome music create a fun atmosphere. The finger food is high quality, and we always enjoy a few drinks. Access is easy, and lines move quickly after ID checks. It's perfect for late-night drinks or game nights, with plenty of seating available. Definitely check out this bar

Teresa A.

Yelp
What can you say??? The servers are on point. The atmosphere is definitely a sports bar. If the professional games are not on the college games are playing

Andra T.

Yelp
If you are looking for a nice bar with good music to watch the games this is the perfect one .:) The food it's good ,the vibe it's very nice ,the service it's fast and the cocktails ,beers ,wine etc are good quality. You're welcome :)

Mckenzie J.

Yelp
Came here to watch the football games that were going on and have some drinks. They had the game on every TV and had it playing over the speakers. When there were commercials, they would play music which I enjoyed. The drinks were a bit on the pricy side but I suppose that is to be expected in the city. We did not get any food, but it smelled and looked good when I saw servers delivering it to other tables. This is a fun place to hang out.

Joneice B.

Yelp
Location is prime in River North. Lots of big TV's and sound system. We were able to grab a few Happy Hour drinks before heading to our ultimate destination. Tried this spot because I love the founder's reviews on pizza. I would come back and grab some beer or wine. We did find that the HH drinks were weak.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
For game day fun outstanding!! We went to the Nashville location a few days before for a Phillies playoff game and had the same experience! #lovebarstool They DO HAVE a full menu with great food and we had awesome service both times we came here (we came on a Friday night for a Phillies game also but it was dead like 10 people). Would highly recommend for Saturday or Sunday game day but it's small and gets packed!!

Mayuri A.

Yelp
Barstool is our go to bar for quick drinks or watching the game. The service is pretty fast. The drinks are reasonable priced. They have great happy hour options. They have lots of seating inside. You wouldn't need a reservation on most days. The ambience is that of a typical sports pub with lots of barstool (pun intended :p). The food is great public food like fries and burgers, no complains there! The servers can sometimes be a little rude if the place is crowded. The place can get really crowded and loud with sticky floors on game days but otherwise, it's a decent sports pub to chill out with your buddies.

Craig M.

Yelp
We stopped by recently on a Sunday afternoon because Hubbard Street in general is the left arm pit of downtown nightlife after dark while Division Street is the right arm pit. Anyway, it was a very quiet day with maybe 10 people in the place at around 4:00. They had a couple singing country tunes to a room that didn't really seem to be paying attention. Passerby glanced but kept on walking. Having no real plans, we figured we'd order some snacks until we figured out what to do for dinner later on. We ordered some queso which was runny and soupy. The chicken tenders were clearly of the frozen variety. So we're going to give the food a generous D-. The staff was about as lively as an upside down turtle stuck in the mud. Given that there were 2 servers to handle about 10 people, you'd think they'd hustle a little for tips, but nope. We'll give them a D- as well. For the positive side of things, we love Portnoy and appreciate his straightforward candor and that's what makes this place a shame. Whoever told him to open a place here was about as dumb as they come with the only thing worse being those who do a really sh*tty job at running the place. I could go on and on and wish them well, but the only thing that will keep this place afloat will be Dave writing checks. What a shame that he put his faith in nitwits who don't know what they're doing here.

Ezekiel O.

Yelp
Loved watching the playoff games and in between commercials, there was a dj playing all styles of music. The service was amazing! Never a time where I needed something and someone wasn't there. I didn't have any food, but the long islands were stellar. We also got a large espresso martini which tasted like pure chocolate delight! I will say the drinks were a bit over priced, but overall had a great experience.

Guadalupe P.

Yelp
Dresscode policy is unclear. They are basically targeting people. I called to ask about it and they said no open toed shoes and being a woman was concerned about that but they said they applied that to only women. And then my friend was harassed for wearing his prescription sunglasses. So weird there's nothing like that stated anywhere on their site or their door is there's a big deal.

Rori B.

Yelp
Visited my hometown for the weekend and stopped by Barstool for a quick drink with the hubby. Had a blast! My Long Island was good (not everyone can make one!). Atmosphere is very chill and relaxed. Music was on point. Great hang out spot! Cheers to Barstool!

Eric G.

Yelp
Not the best spot in the area but highly recommend nonetheless! The choices of beer are great. The food isn't the best you could get in the area but it's not bad either. I've only tried the wings here and to be honest they are really not a wing spot so steer clear. If you want to come in for drinks then that's better idea then eating here lol. Service is meh, not impressed but also not bad.

Alisha P.

Yelp
The food and service is terrible. The buffalo chicken dip is 10% chicken and 90% cream cheese. Servers can care less about service. Dave Portnoy needs to take a break from pizza reviews and review his own franchise...

Laura D.

Yelp
Watching the Super Bowl at Barstool was so much fun with Elizabeth taking care of the floor. Environment. Sing alongs. The whole vibe.

Alex W.

Yelp
Pretty solid bar. Great TV setup, backs on barstools (key), great atmosphere. Couple downsides: music is so loud it's hard to have a conversation unless you're whispering in the person next to you's ear (not a downside if you're hitting on them or your personality sucks though), lack of TouchTunes (the music sucked), and a little too easy to meet someone with a foot fetish here (that literally happened to us within 30 minutes) but hey my first foot fetish experience (hearing the stories about it, not participating to clarify). All in all, fun bar that we tried to come back to but they were closed on Monday. Some people like to pour one out to kick off the work week.

Danielle M.

Yelp
Staff was kind of sassy as soon as we walked in. It was one woman in particular that wasn't very pleasant. Didn't feel very welcomed at first. Our server ended up being great though! She saved this experience for us. Drinks and vibes were great once we were seated!

Brendan B.

Yelp
Interior was cool and nice little spot in the city. Only person who seemed to care or be nice was the doorman that's about as positive as I can be. The waitress was more concerned with keeping her pink cowgirl hat on top of her head than serving food and drinks. Stopped for a quick app and drinks but after her attitude and being served cold nachos we were out. Big fans of the Barstool brand so we were very disappointed in this experience

Dillon P.

Yelp
I would give zero stars if possible. 8 other tables were taken while I was there. Waitress came to grab a card to start a tab. When I was closing out she brought me a different card with the last name of someone who would look like the way I look. There were 8 total tables to attend to and she wasn't the only waitress there, so how many tables were she tending to that she can't keep the cards straight??? After 1 second of looking at the card I said that's not my card, her response was "oh this happens all the time." What do you mean this happens all the time? You're brown so you must have this last name. Ridiculous. If a manager does happen to look at this, she was working on August 31, 2023. Hopefully this doesn't actually happen all the time....

NaywriChi W.

Yelp
Ahh! This used to be Henry's remember that? This is the first location in the country and this is operated by Stan & Bowery hospitality. Their going to be opening in Philadelphia and Scottsdale this year and Nashville next year. Staff and service is very good. PS. They don't have a Carry Out yet.

James T.

Yelp
Huge waste of money. This space is small to begin with and then they cramped it even more by adding a bunch of large tables with tons of chairs. All the tables are reserved so if you come as singles or with just a few, be prepared to shell out cash just to sit down. The drinks are way overpriced too compared to what you can get literally across the street. Make your money and your night go farther by skipping this tourist trap and going to Mother Hubbard's across the street instead!

Nick B.

Yelp
Dope spot but my only gripe is: They refuse to play any commentary on the speakers. Figured this was a place to watch the games given their sports shtick but instead they have you listening to the Spice Girls while Penn State is playing Ohio State at noon. Their excuse is "others might not want to hear that" yeah bc im sure the lone guy betting on Memphis gives a damn

Molly P.

Yelp
This bar is truly the disappointment of the century. On a Friday night in river north it's MAYBE at 30% capacity. Of that 30%, 97% are just here in hopes of tagging Barstool or Dave on instagram and being either shared on their story or spoken about in the podcast. They aren't here to have fun or for the atmosphere. While I did basically just drag this bar, they have a great liquor selection, music, and the staff is great. This place would do so well if they were only open when games were on.

Louis D.

Yelp
Avoid this bar. They include gratuity without telling you. I pay cash, get no receipt, no notification gratuity is included. Dude, big stain on Chicago. Who does this? An $8 beer magically turns into $12 w taxes, gratuity, and a cash credit that turns into a debit. Are you kidding me dude?

D'marco W.

Yelp
Music was quite good. Drinks were alright but INSANELY over priced. Had a massive group 12-13 people and calling our waitress lazy was an understatement. When we went to the bar after not seeing her forever she complained that we didn't use her and we were costing her money. What a joke. Could be a really good place, may of just got a bad egg. I'd like to try again.

Brandon I.

Yelp
Amazing bar! Elizabeth is the best bar manager I've ever had. Energetic, hospitable and attentive. Highly recommend coming to this bar

Jackie D.

Yelp
My husband and I are huge Barstool fans and were excited to finally stop by the bar for a few drinks. We were extremely disappointed in the service, and it might be some of the worst wait staff we've ever had. The kid clearing out table was more fit to be a server. The only thing that saved our experience was the nachos. They were great.. the rest was just nothing special and undertrained wait staff.

Nicole B.

Yelp
A fun environment for game day, bar food and drinks. They surprisingly have a couple good wine selections like whispering angel. I went with the high noon and mozzarella sticks. The music is loud but good and is a great place to come with friends or just to have fun!

Matt M.

Yelp
Came with a group of 10. They gave us one small table, four chairs. We tried to pull up another but was told we couldn't because these "fit parties of 8-12." ....what? Skip it. Service was fine.

Drew M.

Yelp
Me and my besties had a LITTLE TOOOO much fun at this bar shout out to the GM Julie, who gave us a free section with very attentive servers; Ashley, Hannah, Jocelyn - you could stop any of them at anytime and they are nothing but kind and punctual - either it be with drinks or food! Both AGMs Elizabeth and Hector were present. I am so thankful to come to a bar like this!!! Made our trip amazing!!!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
So fucking loud that there's no reason to come with anyone you want to talk to. Waitress insisted everyone wanted it so loud that your ears bleed. I've been to quieter rock concerts. Good happy hour though and bouncer was cool.

Beau S.

Yelp
While in Chicago I had to check out the first standalone Barstool restaurant. It is really just a basic Sports bar with really attractive bartenders. I tried 3 of the cocktails and the I'm on 2% was the fave for sure. It had a cool old school ticker board (no clue what it is really called) that changed constantly. My only gripe really is that that they had a lot of TV's but all of them were only on one game when baseball (including a White Sox game) and other sports were on.

Gaige V.

Yelp
Went with a buddy of mine for his twenty first birthday and he was denied with a real ID and had bouncer get in our faces threatening us if we didn't leave. Would not recommend.

Wendy S.

Yelp
The happy hour menu was good. I was surprised with how good the wings were. The rest of the food we got was just ok- pretzel, tacos, motz sticks. The service was decent. Our waitress was kind, but was a bit slow. It wasn't too busy. It wasn't too loud. However the chairs were very uncomfortable to sit for a whole football game

Louis G.

Yelp
Great place, a lot of fun, give it a try. Friendly people and pleasant atmosphere. Typical bar food but good nonetheless

Liana B.

Yelp
Vibes are immaculate. We stumbled here on accident and stayed for three hours. They have all the games on, flus juice is fire and music is even better: 10/10 recommend if you're in Chicago.

Lauren S.

Yelp
food sucked, server didnt know how to ring in happy hour prices after we confirmed the happy hour prices. also the server didnt know how to check in on the table. bussers and food runners did all the work, the server has just so horrible.

Grant S.

Yelp
Just an annoying overpriced bar with an annoying dress code and terrible vibes. Can't imagine ever returning

Ritz G.

Yelp
I am a good tipper on my own so when I had 2 beers and the tasty Italian beef egg rolls with what look like a food/drink tab of $27 it was actually a $35 tab as they already included a 20% $5.40 tip. Not one to think I need to do a CPA thing on this basic 2 beer 1 appetizer tab, I added my own 20% $7.00 tip to that however the bartender never said the tip was part of the tab already. C'mon Barstool!!,.. you can do better as this is Chicago where everyone already knows to take good care of servers/bartenders,... but at my discretion not yours on the sly side.

Emma W.

Yelp
My 23 year old friends and I's IDs were thrown on the ground, bent, and laughed at as we were told the were fake. As first time visitors to Chicago, we were extremely disappointed. Maybe hire bouncers that won't trash your ID before your flight home?

Michael J.

Yelp
The bartenders were very friendly, the wings were amazing and the atmosphere was exactly like the name says.... A SPORTS BAR - Great Music and good energy.

Ellie W.

Yelp
Stopped in here for my first time while in the city. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, staff was all very friendly, and there was no wait. It was much smaller than I expected though. Also, we ordered lunch and we're not impressed with the food. I got the sliders and fries and my meal was cold. I wouldn't come back for the food, but I'd return for the bar experience!
