"Out-of-town themed restaurants (Rainforest Cafe, Sugar Factory) have found safe Chicago homes in River North for years, but Barton G. The Restaurant hopes to distinguish itself from the pack when the Florida import unveils its playful food that look like dioramas on Friday. The kitchen is more like Santa’s workshop as a team of artists crank out items with sometimes ridiculous names. The food’s supposed to make customers smile. But that doesn’t mean the restaurant doesn’t take its craft seriously. There’s a lot of effort into the presentation. And the dining room’s light will allow customers to snap photos and post to social media. The menu is described as American classic food that’s “dramatic and delicious.” It’ll be open for dinner, weekday lunch, and brunch. Reservations are available via OpenTable. Barton G. opens Friday in Chicago giving the city the “multi-sensory experience” it may or may not need." - Ashok Selvam

I was a Barton G customer in Miami and was visiting my family in Chicago when I saw it had open another restaurant in River North. Let me tell you it did not disappoint and I was able to surprise and delight my family by making a reservation through open table for Barton G. Forest the bar manager actually was our server and he was phenomenal. We had drinks, and appetizer, amazing entrées, as well as a dessert. And every course surprised and delighted everyone in the party. The food was delicious the drinks were amazing and the experience was memorable.

3x's a charm. Barton G is a family oriented restaurant. All ages & couples will appreciate the presentations. In addition, the food is seasoned to perfection. There are still a few items that's awaiting my critique, so I will return ❤❤

Go for the experience not the food. The ambiance and the unique presentation make it worth at least one visit. The food itself is mediocre at best, food snobs and aficionados would be disappointed. But overall it's a fun and lively place especially on a Saturday night.

Walking in we didn't know what to expect... Over the top is an understatement. Women hanging from the ceiling, this place is visually stimulating for even the most hyper imagination. Everything you order, food, drinks, desserts, etc., has some kind of prop with it. So much so that after 1 of two kewl over the top displays, thats more than enough. Its distracting as you cant see the person/people at yur table to talk. The drinks are delicious and STRONG! Which is a major score! The food. I just wish the food was served with serving spoons for the table and the food quality was a bit better. We ordered almost 1 of everything. Over kill, but I only need to do this place once in my life. My absolute favorite thing on the menu, the Tuna Tartare which is served with Avocado Toast! Yay!! All in all we enjoyed it, probably don't have to do it again, unless entertaining someone or for a preteen and up bday party. But, I will say this is a MUSt experience at least once.

Super fun upscale restaurant! They didn't skimp on the alcohol in the drinks, the server had perfect timing and was very knowledgeable on the menu, made great suggestions. We had the sliders which were AMAZING, I had the Miss Thai-Gone which was fried lobster battered in tempura with fried rice, the hubs got the short rib, and for dessert we had strawberry fields which was strawberries and cheesecake bites and a chocolate cake decorated like a strawberry. They put a happy birthday chocolate piece for me cause we were celebrating my birthday. Everything tasted amazing and was cooked perfectly. I will say it was pretty loud in there so if you're looking for someplace that's quiet, that would be the only reason I wouldn't recommend visiting here, though there is seating upstairs that seemed to be a bit more quiet. I'm pretty impressed with how smoothly everything went, since they've only been open for a month. We will definitely be back.

The ambience was nice, the service was good, I also enjoyed the props with the meals. So, the issue was 2 days later I went to eat my leftovers (salmon, and lobster Mac and cheese), the salmon had a film of mold. Mind you, the food has been refrigerated since I left the restaurant. This is just unacceptable. I've never experienced this before. They have to do better. Will not be going back. See photo attached

Heard a lot about it but didn't get to check it out till this weekend. It's shocking how awesome this place looks from inside. Had a lunch buffet with numerous offerings. From plain meat side to tacos to seviche, oysters, salmon, and maybe like 10 other items. Then the dessert bar was separate which had plenty to choose from. The food was quite delicious and so was the presentation. Really enjoyed the entire experience. I think the atmosphere is perfect and that will stand out in everyone's mind. Waiting staff was great, I would have another mimosa ready to go as mine was finishing lol Going to go back with a group for dinner service soon too. Parking can be a little problematic if you don't wanna pay for valet, there is street parking ofcourse too. I paid half the price for a garage on spothero a block away. Little on the pricey side but def worth a visit if you want an experience with great food. Give it a try!
