I've read the previous reviews that were below 5 stars (in particular the one or two stars) and I have to wonder did we eat at the same place!! Clearwater vacation and my husband is a steak guy. Bascom's Chop House kept coming up in my searches for fine steak dining. Let's go!! 1. Location was perfect, compared to where we stayed in Clearwater Beach. Had an 8:30 reservation and got a text about 8 that our table was ready. No biggie that just meant as soon as we got there , we were taken right to our seats. Nice ambiance and the settings, while looked antique (I mean that in an elegant type of way) it was great for a steakhouse. Our server Blake was right on point! Explained the menu, offered suggestions, was very attentive, even talked a little football (which is a plus for us football fans) Can we start with the wedge salad AND THE BILLION DOLLAR BACON!!! Who did this!?? I have never had anything so good. Meant to order some to go. Main course, I had the filet and my husband had the ribeye (I think was his cut). My filet was AMAZING. Charred perfectly, tender flavored. Husband did have to add a little salt to his steak, but no slight on the prep and temperature just his taste buds. Went basic on the sides with garlic mashed and broccoli with gouda. If I had one little con, the presentation of the broccoli left a little to be desired. But the flavor with the smoked gouda was very good! And lastly, the creme brule' (sp) and blueberry cheesecake, both recommended by Blake. Just WOW! Clearly we had a wonderful experience for our last night of vacation and would hands down return again the next time we're in the area. A very nice gentleman manager came around and checked our drinks and food and then the general manager, Eric, came around and ensured that our experience was in point. Most of all and MOST importantly, my husband was pleased. (The lighting was dim so these photos do not do this much justice)

Absolutely 5 in every category! Although we had reservations, sitting at the bar is our preference. At the end of the bar, there's an open kitchen . Service is outstanding! They offered a cold seafood platter for $60; it was perfect to enjoy with a cocktail. 3 of their oysters, huge shrimp as well as lobster and crab legs. Yummy. Although we rarely eat meat....we both fought over a piece of Billionaire Bacon 🥓 you've gotta try it!!! You're not going to be able to leave without at least $125 for 2. It's splitting the seafood platter and 1 cocktail, 2 beers. Steaks look delicious however we were thrilled with the delicious shell fish.

The food was phenomenal!! Everything was amazing. My boyfriend has always been reluctant to try new things but he tried lobster escargo and some of my French onion soup. My filet was cooked just right and so tender and flavorful. Our waitress was personable, engaging and funny.

Google
Great experience the food was really good the billionaire bacon was phenomenal smoked with notes of sweetness, the 14oz fillet was cooked medium perfectly with the bone marrow butter an the side of fried onion straws complimented the steak very good as well. My only regret was that I didnt save room for desert, I really wanted to try the creme brule. Thank you for the experience.

Google
We looked up "best cocktails" and stumbled on this location. SO glad redid did! Rich, delish food and amazing cocktails. The lobster deviled eggs were dynamite. We did the surf and turf for two and that was a great way to go. If you're looking for quiet, this may not be for you. The atmosphere is buzzy and lively which we enjoyed. Our server, Mark was knowledgeable and gracious.

Bascom’s Chop House delivers an exceptional dining experience from the moment you walk in. The ambiance is upscale yet welcoming, with warm lighting and classic décor that sets the tone for a memorable meal. A striking fish tank at the entrance adds a unique and elegant touch, immediately drawing your attention. We started with the Billionaire’s Bacon—thick, smoky, sweet, and savory perfection that set a high bar for the rest of the evening. The locked, stocked, and Smoked Old Fashioned stole the show: served tableside in a wooden box filled with smoke. It was as visually impressive as it was flavorful. For entrees, the pecan-crusted grouper was perfectly cooked and delicately sweet, while the 10oz filet, ordered medium rare, was melt-in-your-mouth tender and expertly prepared. Each bite was indulgent. We wrapped up the evening with the blueberry cheesecake, complete with a pecan crust—a rich, creamy, and satisfying end to an outstanding meal. Bascom’s is a must-visit for those seeking top-tier steakhouse fare with impeccable service and presentation.

By far my favorite diner I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. This was a diner for my husband’s birthday and he loved every single dish. Our waitress was Kim, she was amazing along with all the people that greeted us and prepared our meals with care. We ordered the following; Appetizer: Bread with Chimmi oil Seafood tower Drinks: Merlot Espresso Diet Coke Entree: 14 oz ribeye, lobster tail, hot honey carrots with goat cheese and candy pecans, truffle fries with sauce and the lobster Mac & cheese. Dessert: waffle cream and fruit with cognac chocolate syrup Everything was exquisite. If we lived closer we would be here much more often!

Yelp
Love Bascom's "Chop House & FRESH SEAFOOD." That's what the sign reads "Chop House Steaks & FRESH SEAFOOD" It's been way too hot in St Pete for heavy duty meat, steaks & potatoes. It's summer & in the summer, I eat FRESH SEAFOOD. Bascom's has the best Seafood selection. They do the best Wedge salad I have ever had. Add their Blackened SALMON it's a masterpiece. You must try it if you love Salmon like I do OuiOui. I have had it salt crusted as well it's also superb. The Salmon Florentine is usually a special, but it's also moi fave. I get it every time it's on the special menu. All three, Très magnifique OuiOui. One of the reasons Bascom's Salmon is so delicious is bc they get their salmon from Patagonia. They serve a very nice thick piece. Excellent quality Salmon. I have not found any better, yet. Bascom's also serves LOCAL FRESH GROUPER. The local grouper they serve here is WILD caught off Madeira Beach. Moi fave beach here also OuiOui. The Local grouper tacos are very yummy here as well as is the Local "Grouper Piccata." They serve the Piccata in a simple lemon butter white wine sauce. Simplistically gorgeous as it is delicious. The french onion soup here is the best on the planet. No one does it in the giant footed bowl like Bascom's. It has a 3 cheese gratin top & it's enormous. A MUST ORDER !!! :)... Way better than Berns in Tampa. Most of those people work here now anyway OuiOui. The oysters rockafella are also some of the best I have had. I have also added them to moi list of Fave oyster places OuiOui. The service here is just phenomenal. I have not had one bad service experience since I been coming here in almost a year now. Fall is coming quick, so i'm really excited to try the fall/winter menu & get into the Steaks & Lobsters that are just calling moi name.. Love that you can add any sauce like béarnaise, Hollandaise, Black garlic, etc., Cannot wait for the cooler weather so Moi can try them all with the filet & lobster OuiOui :)... The wine list is also superb with lots of amazing celebratory Champagnes. Christie (server) turned me onto the small pink bottle of sparkling rose. It's so pretty & so refreshing. Goes great with the seafood dishes & shrimp cocktail. Another MUST ORDER. You can order Bascom's online to go, you can drive right up to the front door & they bring your "to go foods" right out to your car window packaged beautifully. Sir Hubbers fave. Quality, professional service all around "la vie en rose" OuiOui. One of our favorite Restaurants in St Pete.. Added to moi lists of fave restaurants in St Pete/Tampa area, fave seafood places, fave oyster places, fave steaks & fave salade places. Highest Recommendations.

Yelp
PRIME BEEF? We ordered Prime ribeyes cooked MR and R and they were both very tough - very hard to cut through with the provided heavy steak knives (Prime ribeyes cut through almost like butter). Bascom's is clearly NOT serving Prime beef yet claiming on the menu that they are "Prime" steaks. I am very qualified to make this statement and very sad to make this discovery. I do not work for a competing restaurant or company (retired). Shame on you, Bascom's, we trusted you! NOTE: Management's comments in response to this review do not address the reality of what we encountered. A well marbled Prime ribeye cooked medium rare or rare never requires a saw to cut through it! This was a culinary injustice and downright theft of our money. You must take your customers as fools.

Yelp
My coworkers and I stopped in for lunch and overall had a decent experience. The millionaire bacon was thick, crispy, sweet and savory; one of my favorites! I thought it was a little strange that they charge extra for bread. At a steakhouse, that seems a little petty. For lunch, I ordered the beef tips, which had great flavor, but they were a bit overcooked. Service was really slow, especially for a lunch crowd. It was packed, so I get that they were busy, but the wait between courses was long. Overall, the food was decent and the vibe is nice but I'm not sure I would go back.

Yelp
My work comes here for lunch sometimes, and we also had our work Christmas dinner here. The staff is always knowledgeable, able, and super attentive. The parking lot is spacious, and the inside is classy yet comfortable. The drinks are fabulous, and the food is unreal every time. I always get the Billionaire's Bacon--10/10 recommend it! Always a great experience at Bascom's!

Yelp
Fourth time here, and Bascom's never fails We were seated immediately and had one of the nicest personable servers Monique to help us. We started with billionaire bacon, which is an 8 inch piece of pork belly seasoned perfectly. Peppery and sweet. Then, of course, our steaks. We had ribeyes and fillets. All were cooked to perfection and the meat was of the highest quality. We had medium rare to medium well and they all came out the way we ordered. The sides of garlic potatoes and spicycorn were exquisite. On Saturdays they have 25% off $50 + bottles of wine. Because it was my birthday, they offered me a dessert on the house which I chose the waffle Again, it was perfect Very lively bar as we left at 9:30 if that's more your choice

Yelp
B C H is one of the most popular steak houses in Clearwater, this was the first time two of our party of three has eaten here. The quality is very good but the atmosphere is a little to pretentious for me from the demeanor of the waitstaff to charging a "bread service" if you would like bread brought to the table. Like I said the quality is very good, lobster bisque, salmon, and prime rib...

Yelp
In the area for work. Had a great dinner here! Just me, sat at the bar, got great service and yummy food! If you check in on Yelp, you'll get a free appetizer! Score! So I got the beef tartar and it was absolutely delicious! Then I got a 6 oz filet and a side of sautéed spinach. All this food for about $50. Thank you for being able to keep prices reasonable. The place was definitely a locals hot spot. Been around a long time. Highly recommend and I would return if I'm in the area again.

Yelp
Bascom's Chop House After evacuating for Hurricane Milton with 9 family members and 7 pets, I promised myself a proper steak dinner once things settled. On Thursday, after returning home, I saw on Facebook that Bascom's would reopen on Friday at 5 pm. I quickly booked a reservation for 7 pm. When I arrived, the place was bustling--no surprise, given that it was not only a Friday night but also one of the few open spots. Despite the crowd, I was seated within minutes. I started with an EH Taylor Small Batch bourbon and a Bell's Octoberfest beer--a seasonal and satisfying choice. For my appetizer, I ordered the French Onion Gratinee ($12). It arrived piping hot--almost dangerously so--but it was absolutely delicious. The rich, beefy broth, combined with the garlic croutons, melted Swiss and Parmesan, and green onions, was comforting and flavorful. My only critique was that a few of the onion pieces were that of the outside layer of the onion and were too tough to bite through. Overall, I'd rate the soup 8/10. For my main course, I went with the Creekstone Farms Bone-In Ribeye--a generous, all-natural 22oz cut ($54)--along with a side of the mushroom medley ($11) and a loaded baked potato ($9). I ordered the steak medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. The steak was tender, juicy, and well-marbled, with just the right amount of fat expected from a ribeye. I only managed to finish half and took the rest home, but every bite I had was exceptional. The baked potato was perfectly dressed, fluffy, and flavorful. The mushroom medley had a nice garlic flavor, though I felt $11 was a bit steep for what appeared to be just button mushrooms--I would have preferred a mix of varieties for the price. Overall, the meal was a solid 9/10. William, my server, was attentive and provided excellent service throughout. It felt like almost every manager in the restaurant stopped by to check on my experience, which added a nice touch. It was a fantastic dinner, especially after the stress of the storm, and it seemed like everyone there felt the same. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Always a fan of the Seafood Cobb. I came here to meet a friend. It always strikes me as such a random restaurant to have. On the outside it looks kind of run down and unassuming, but it's pretty nice inside. It is definitely the place to have a business lunch. Even though the Seafood Cobb wasn't on their online menu, I found it on their menu when I was looking. There's another salad that looks good that I might try next time, due to inflation the Seafood Cobb has risen in price quite a bit. However, it does have quite a bit of seafood. My friend got the Seafood Cobb too and she mixed the salad together. I ate it in it's deconstructed state. It's a good salad if you want to feel full and satisfied. Service is always great. We were looking to chat so we were there for two hours. We never felt rushed. There's a big parking lot so parking is always a breeze. Don't sleep on this restaurant. I know it looks like nothing from the outside, but it's a very good place to grab a lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Bascom's Chop house is our families celebration restaurant. Engagements, Birthdays you name it. The service is always impeccable and the atmosphere festive. From the first time you sit down until your dessert arrives and everything in between. In this visit we tried the steak tartare and it was so good. We most always order the ribeye and they cook it to perfection. And the cream brûlée is made so well with a great crispy top. If you let them know you are celebrating when you make your reservation they will make it special for you.

Yelp
Celebrated my birthday yesterday here. The food was amazing and the drinks outstanding. But the waitress Thy was not very personable and we felt VERY rushed our bread was just placed in top of the menu my husband had to move the food off the menus. We received our check with our dessert? What if we wanted something else ? Also the waitress told my husband sorry I charged you for the dessert , but I took it off . Ok but never did she acknowledge the birthday. The whole experience was just lacking . And this was not our first time coming to Boscom's . A little disappointed with the dinner last night .

Yelp
This is my second time here & I love it. Everyone is so friendly, the restaurant is clean. Food rating Garlic mashed potatoes 10/10 Cesar salad 10/10 is my favorite Asparagus 8/10, only because it's not a favorite veggie of mine Filet mingnon with a side of chimichurri sauce 10/10.

Yelp
Celebrating Moms 93 years birthday and how special we were treated. The napkins were coordinated to make sure we didn't get fuzz balls. The steak, the Smokey manhattan the desserts and all were so far above and beyond. Dan served us with the best there is in professionalism and comedy. Ya gotta go!

Yelp
My husband and I came here for my dad's birthday and it was my first visit. It's a very nice steakhouse! We arrived on a Tuesday and it quickly got packed due to their steak specials on Tuesdays. Service here is fantastic! I'm so glad quality service has not fully gone extinct! Our server was Jack Frost. I'm not kidding! He was a great server and really added to our experience despite some mix-ups he had. And I'm so sad that when he packed my leftovers, he forgot to put in my loaded baked potato and the creamed horseradish for my prime rib! Ugh! But I got over it because at one point, he accidentally came over with a to-go creme brulee that we didn't order. Then he felt bad about it and gave it to us on the house (on top of my dad's free birthday dessert). Okay, the food. Great food! I tried my stepmom's gapacho (did I spell that right?....basically rare thinly sliced steak) and WOW, I'm ordering that for myself next time!! DELISH! I had a bowl of lobster bisque and it was very tasty. The prime rib was great and Jack told us a few times that it's cooked for 12 hours. I was a bit surprised to hear this because we just made prime rib for Christmas and it was not cooking for 12 hours but was just as--if not more--tender! I do think the prime rib could use a much more flavorful exterior bark. I also had a cocktail called Caribbean Passion and it was also great! I would give this 4.5 stars technically, and I would definitely come back--especially for a special occasion! Check out their website for more details on their specials/discounts!

Yelp
My first time here. Sadly, not as good as I had hoped. The good news: My French Onion Soup was a very good start. Lots of cheese, flavorful broth. Our server was pleasant and attentive. I chose to have the garlic shrimp appetizer and asparagus for my main. The shimp came in an opaque orange sauce that spoke more of paprika than of garlic. They were over cooked but still palatable (it's very difficult for shrimp to be cooked so badly I refuse to eat it) but I should have sent the asparagus back. Mostly over-large, woody spears with only two small, properly trimmed stalks. No seasoning at all and no sign of a grill. I ordered the flourless chocolate torte to take home for dessert. It was delicious, but a friend at the table exclaimed "I didn't know they had mini-desserts!" Yes. It was tiny.

Yelp
I was here for a private event and got the pork chop. Wow it was amazing! Juicy and full of flavor. The staff were very helpful as well.

Yelp
Ok don't ask what we were doing in Florida. Suffice to say it was a quick business trip and pretty exhausting. This is the land of strip malls and chain restraints and megastores so our expectations were pretty low. We were there just before the holidays and reservations were hard to get. When we pulled up at 8pm, it was clear why. This place is enormous and was filled to the brim with parties and families. Still we were serve promptly and the service was really good. We wanted to get our orders in as we had a 7am flight the next day and they were super accommodating. Suffice to say this is classic over the top American cuisines. For instance the appetizer is a maple glazed bacon. These things are enormous and at least inch think and list have a gallon of sugar and maple on them. I have to say they were delicious hit so rich I'm sure my boood glucose popped to 1M. They serve them dripping on foot high racks which is definitely an interesting presentation. They have a massive wine list and we had some very nice Italian wine. For our main course we tried the coffee crusted steak. I think it was a rib eye. The meat was well cooked but the coffee grounds meant that it couldn't really get the deep sear which we love so much. We couldn't have the sauce (dairy everywhere), so I'm sure that would add to the flavor. This was grain fed beef I think as the actually flavor was not that robust but it was very tender. Overall YMMV, but we like our steaks much more seared and then grass fed. The ambience was like an old English manor which is pretty interesting in suburban Florida but it worked. The happy families and people all around were great. The service was great and attentive and they were working really hard that day. For our party there was a 20% included gratuity and we definitely added to that. Nice spot in Clearwater :-)

Yelp
I came here for a business dinner earlier this week and had a wonderful time! Excellent food and great service in an elegant setting! I began the evening with Bascom's Smokey Old Fashioned, which was both beautifully presented and delicious! The Billionaire's Bacon - with a tasty black pepper coating - was quite tasty (and I normally don't even enjoy bacon)! I enjoyed my six ounce filet, as well as the multiple side dishes our table shared. The wait staff was attentive, prompt, and took good care of our group. The space had a traditional steakhouse feel. Overall, we had a great experience here! This is definitely an excellent spot for a business dinner.
google avatar

Erica R.

Yelp
This place was awesome. My ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. The flavor was out out of this world. It's prob a good thing I do not live in Florida or I would be eating too much red meat coming to this place all the time. Billionaire bacon has a little too much pepper for me. That was alright. If you like pepper and sugar, give it a try. Customer service was outstanding. Why the 4 stars not the 5...sides were good but I've had better. 4 star worthy is still good!

Yelp
I always love a good steak and Bascums didn't disappoint. The food was great, decent atmosphere considering how busy it was... The service was fantastic from the moment we walked in to the moment we left.. thank you for a nice meal and a great experience.

Yelp
The food was soooo good and fulfilling. Thankful for leftovers. The ambiance of the restaurant is really great, the lighting truly sets the mood. The service is probably the best thing about Bascom's. Everyone is very friendly, attentive & knowledgeable. We had a nice spread consisting of shrimp, bison, lobster Mac n cheese and a beef pasta containing mushrooms, tomatoes and beef. My review doesn't do this place justice. Stop by and see for yourselves how great Bascom's is!
google avatar

Lisa B.

Yelp
The service was incredible and server was great. However, the food was a huge disappointment. I have never complained on my food at a restaurant but my scallops was so undercooked they were slimy in the middle. The waiter took them back then they came back black but at least not slimy. My husband got the Japanese steak which he said was not impressive. For the money it cost you expect better food. And have had better food experiences and expensive locations.
google avatar

Greg B.

Yelp
Our server was very nice and really liked him. BUT! Totally not worth it. The scallops were way undercooked and like eating slime. We sent them back and they came back super burnt. It was like the chef punished US for HIM serving undercooked scallops. I ordered the very expensive Japanese Wagyu steak, it was very burnt on one side so they hid the charred side on the bottom hoping I wouldn't notice it. I ended up just scraping off the burn because after what they did to the scallops I figured the chef would have his precious little pussy feelings hurt and spit on the steak. So I just delt with it myself. I promise I won't come back!

Debby C.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for lunch on our way to catch a flight back to Missouri. We split the chicken marsala and a house salad and a bread plate.!!! all of it was delicious and exceptional!! The service is amazing as well. The manager came by to check on us and was very attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Abe C.

Yelp
This place know their business: good food and good costumer service. Food was good and server was good. The ambiance was a mismatch of old school steak house and ...I dont know, sports bar? It wasnt cohesive. Bread service? Really? We ordered it instead of an appetizer. Usually bread is complimentary, yet no free but rather is included in the overall cost of the items in the restaurant. Now, if you want to call it "bread service", in my opinion it should include a variety of different types of breads and butters/spreads. Anyway, I'll probably try it again, not the so called bread service but the restaurant.

Frank N.

Yelp
The best food and service in the area Once you eat at Bascom's you will keep coming back!!
google avatar

Debbie H.

Yelp
Most definitely, "elegant". Very nice, upscale steakhouse. Our steaks were seasoned and cooked well. I had the filet, my friend, the prime rib. Having to pay extra for all sides didn't sit well with me. $49 & $36 for a piece of meat on a plate with nothing by onion straws? It seems like a small dollop of mashed potatoes, rice, or a few pieces of broccoli would be an easy add. The bread was appreciated but it would be better if warm. There are a lot of wine options. I opted for a nice cab; he got a beer. The baked lobster and cheese appetizer was tasty but had very little lobster to be honest. 6 very small pieces in an escargot vessel smothered in cheese. We were seated right away even without reservations. It was quite early. Our waitress was very professional and nice.

Yelp
We have been going to Bascom for many years. We were celebrating our 46th wedding anniversary. We lIke sitting in the more casual lounge area. Shelby ALWAYS gives us perfect service and makes us feel at home! Keith the MGR on duty always makes sure the guests have everything they need! As always, our meals were perfectly prepared!

Yelp
Great atmosphere , service, but most important is the food! Well experience in the food industry, so I am very finicky in everything when it comes to great food, service, cleanliness! You'd be doing yourself a service to come here!
google avatar

Tessa M.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing. What was disappointing was how our server was somewhat neglectful. The chef was able to accommodate my allergies which is nice, it is very hard finding places who can honor Gluten Free. The Old Fashioned drink presentation was very unique and contributed positively towards the experience. I do wish our server was more attentive to us, I feel that we were overlooked as the majority of the crowd is on the older scale and seeing a younger couple at such a costly restaurant was expected to not tip well or be taken quite as seriously. I do feel that there were many missed opportunities due to the fact that the waitress barely came around to us. We ordered the bacon as an appetizer and would have ordered more. Also our drinks were empty, and then I needed some help with the menu in regards to what could be GF and she was nowhere to be found. For quite some time. Our tab came to just under $350. I do expect a better acknowledgment from our waitress, especially at that cost. Overall, only because of the food, we will return.

Yelp
We've been in love with this place since 2019 and visited every time we are in Clearwater usually celebrating birthdays. This time we were in for mine and my daughter's birthday and enjoyed everything as always. We didn't have a chance to take pictures of the desserts because we ate them at once! We had Truffle fries, few salads, pecan flounder and steak. The food was delicious. Jason was very knowledgeable and pleasant. And the whole atmosphere is perfect very fancy and exquisite. Can't wait to celebrate here our next time!

Yelp
Everything took forever. Seated at 6 pm and begged for the check at 8:30. I have had better service in a Cracker Barrel. Steaks were 130 a pop, sad and charred, flavorless for wagu. The server didn't do refills; we had to repeatedly ask. She didn't bus the table till we stacked it all precariously on edge. She didn't replace the napkins she took, forgot requests, silverware, drinks, sugar, and at the end, bagged all our food into one bag. We asked for an extra bag, but she didn't bring it. Banana foster was crap, wasn't fired, and tasted like baby mush. We weren't going to wait for it, but decided to give it a shot. Four people, 500$ - not including drinks we never got or tip. I should have gone to Bern's, Charlie's, Eddie V's, or heck, Roadhouse. They said there was a dress code... There isn't. It was like eating at Walmart. The table was small. The room was dated. The server was using the same tray to bus as she was to serve. Drink orders took 30 mins, so we started timing it. Gave up on it. Just wanted to go home. I didn't look at the check, just the total, and pushed my card to her so she couldn't disappear again for 30 more minutes. I don't know who is running the place, but he/she should bring a four-top in and try to get a meal. Maybe if you have a large party, they take care of you, idk. I honestly believe most people could get better service, ambiance, and steaks at Roadhouse. If you want fine dining and good service at about the same price, I suggest Bern's, Charlie's, Eddie V's. I usually don't do reviews, especially bad ones, but this was so bad on so many levels. Had the price been in the 150 range, I might not have minded so much. Heck, if the steaks had been good, I might have just written it off and never said anything.

Yelp
Went to dinner at Bascom's for an early Mother's Day / birthday dinner for party of 7. Mother in law uses a mobility scooter and they were very attentive in making sure she was settled comfortably. Christopher, our waiter, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We never had to request a refill on drinks or ask for dishes to be taken away. Appetizers, main courses, and desserts were excellent as usual. I also suggest joining their free rewards program. The points add up fast and can be used as real dollars off your bill. Bascom's is one of the most underrated steakhouses in Tampa Bay. I would put their beef / entrees up against the more 'popular' steakhouses any day. Will be back, hopefully soon.

Yelp
Our waiter Mark was awesome. Very attentive. The ambiance is nice. We were seated near the bar and it was a little loud. The food is amazing. Steaks very tender and delicious. We had shrimp for our Appetizers. The garlic cream sauce and shrimp cocktail. It was the best. For sides we had grilled asparagus Oscar with lump crab meat. They were yummy. My husband had the porter house ave it was cooked to perfection and delicious. I had the Australian New York strip. It was very tender and juicy. I would recommend this restaurant. We will be returning to try other items.

Yelp
We have lived 17 minutes from this restaurant for 4 years and driven by it about a million times. We decided for our 13th anniversary to try this for our celebration. I kinda wished we had sooner. First, the service is top notch. The food could have sucked and the service would have made up for it. The food did not suck. We had the Saturday special, which was the 14oz filet and lobster. with 2 sides. Caribbean lobster. I didn't know they had lobster down there. We had the Gouda Mac and cheese with mashed potatoes. food was absolutely incredible. The filet had a sear or crust on it I had never had before. At first it was different and it quickly became excellent. Since it was our anniversary we received a complementary crème brûlée which was also incredible. Pricing is decent too for what you get in return. We will definitely be back here again !

Yelp
Phenomenal! I was in town from Chicago and was told by so many people to come here. Food was great, and our server Kathy was so kind. Will be back!

Yelp
A delicious meal fit for kings! Alyssa was super nice and accommodating as was all the staff we interacted with. The dining room was comfortable and quiet with dim lighting. Mom and dad had filet mignon served with yummy onion strings. I had the 18oz ribeye. Our sides were yummy asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. I tried the smoked fashioned with the recommended Whistle Pig which was yummy and a Gravel Pit Pinot from Russian River. We took home the blueberry cheesecake provided by the restaurant for free for dad's birthday. All in all a wonderful meal.

Yelp
A planned visit.. went to Bascom's Chop House for Mothers Day.. BUT went on a Tuesday (05/14/24) why.. Tomahawk Tuesday ( besides I was in Boston on Sunday) . Anyway it was awesome, the steak was like 38 oz , medium rare and plenty for the 3 of us.. we even brought home leftovers. The sides were hot, fresh and very tasty (lg baked potatoe , garlic mashed potatoes along with very spicy roasted carrots). Needless to say the meal was delicious. Only draw back was our reservation was for 8pm... kinda late.. one of the few available spots. On another note and I said it before BASCOM'S is locally owned and operated... yaa again. Service was good our waitress was very attentive/ professional. Kudos to the chef, wait staff and the owners for keeping it family oriented.

Yelp
Amazing date night spot for me and my fiancé! The service is quick and efficient plus he loved that he was able to see the bar TVs for the game from our favorite booth. It is still very intimate and the food is always so delicious and perfectly presented. I usually get the lamb chops or salmon. He will get porterhouse or bolognese pasta (when it's available). We usually end with a sorbet or seasonal ice cream.

Yelp
Very good, great service. Pricey because it doesn't come with any sides, wild. Nice for special occasions.

Yelp
Based on these apps alone, they get this review. Service was good, server up sold everything. Lobster cargot was unimpressive. Beef carpaccio was old or something. Restaurant was very busy 2 days after a hurricane. Went on a Saturday night. Not sure if I would go back. I expected more.

Yelp
The bartenders, food and service have been great. I go here once every two weeks. The drinks are terrible due to a new measurement policy. It's like a drink you would get at Applebees or Fridays, but twice the price. It really ruins the experience.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. I ordered the house salad to start. The Parmesan cheese on the salad was worth the price of admission alone. I had filet mignon cooked a perfect medium rare. Not all beef is created equal and the taste was fabulous. I paired it with a lobster tail and I can tell you being from New England he ships those in fresh. Added the grill asparagus and I have half of everything to take home. Sadly I'm dieting but you will find crème brûlée on the dessert menu which I will post below. Quiet ambiance or party it up at the bar. Either way 10/10

Yelp
Excellent steaks and a great atmosphere. Top notch staff along with excellent sides, which isn't always the case with steakhouses.

Yelp
Went back again to give another try after the owner Paul reached out (didn't ever call him or his manager back or talk with him but appreciated his concern and he seemed to genuinely care) when passing through the area on way up to Alabama. This time we had an attentive server and tasty seafood and veggies. Drank water only on this visit so wine selection didn't even come up but still didn't see a sauv blanc from NZ on list so subtracting 1 star. Thanks for a good meal and much better experience. :)

Yelp
The appetizers and drinks exceeded the entrees. The appetizers photographed were tasty and with good presentation. Our steaks all came out the wrong temperature and we ended up trading steaks to please the tables preferences due to limited time. The restaurant was crowded, so our table was less than ideal for taller guests. We did find a tequila we love so thank you to their bar manager.

Yelp
The crab cake was excellent our ribeyes were cooked to perfection will definitely be returning for another memorable night
