"This pizza parlor, or warehouse, has a great industrial vibe and pumps out a simple yet satisfying menu of flatbread pizzas, salads, and drinks. Large roll-up garage doors keep the space light, cool, and welcoming on hot days. Pull up a chair, shoot some pool, and enjoy a warehouse that has obviously been a lot of interesting things in its lifetime. And then go back at night when it transforms into a popular hotspot until 2:00am." - Fifty & Fifty
"This bustling East Village restaurant and bar is one of the only places in town doing New Haven-style thin-crust pizza. Cooked in a brick oven, the pizzas ranges from a signature white pie topped with mashed potatoes (don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it) to build-your-own creations." - Darlene Horn, Candice Woo

"The pizza is the focus at this pre-game hot spot with the menu specializing in wood-fired pizzas. The pizzas have thin but chewy crusts with a choice between small or large. The build-your-own options gives a choice of “red pies” or “white pies” with Parmesan or mozzarella, or pick one of nine with pre-selected ingredient combinations." - Darlene Horn
In downtown San Diego! enjoying a night out with family having dinner. This place was perfect open space, bar, pet friendly, lounging area, pool table area and plenty of tv screens all you can imagine to have a good relaxing evening. Service was excellent, fast and friendly we ordered two pizza pies the meaty lover and the month house special which was the thanksgiving pie. Both pizzas were light tasty well balanced flavors the ricotta cheese really took it to another level on the meat lover and thanksgiving was the mashed potato great hit. I had a basic mule, smooth strong flavor that came along well with dinner. Great place to come and enjoy a meal with friends or family.

This pizza was amazing, very nice char taste like wood fired style crispy crust, great toppings and sauce. Pizza was a small and it was huge, I saw the large pizzas and they were massive 2-4 people for large, 1-2 for small. Great selection of craft beers too. Service was really good, pizza took a little while to come but it was very busy (it was a padres game night) so that was to be expected, was definitely worth the wait! A must try place in San Diego.

Very well prepared Pizza. We got it to go. The family size is very generous. Thin crust pizza. The potato bacon is exotic but worth the try.

Pizza was amazing. The large is a little on the pricey side ($30+) , but tasted bomb. Great pizza, location, and venue. I gave a 4 stars because there were people playing pool that was kind of bumping into us while we were eating.
A lot of pizza choices.

I recently visited Basic bar pizza and had an incredibly disappointing experience. The service was downright awful. Our waiter was extremely rude and dismissive, making us feel unwelcome from the moment we sat down. She seemed annoyed whenever we asked for anything, and his attitude really put a damper on the entire meal.
The food might have been decent, but it was hard to enjoy given the poor service. I expect a basic level of courtesy when dining out, and this place failed to deliver. I would not recommend basic to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. There are plenty of other restaurants that offer both good food and respectful service.

The pizza was amazing!!! Took a good amount of time to be seated when they didn't appear busy but I believe they were in the middle of shift change. Food was bomb though

In town for work. Walked by and gave it a try. Bartender recommended the East Village pizza. It was very good. The meatballs are cut into thin slices and they taste great. I took one star off because bar service was a bit slow. It's not busy and there are 2 or 3 bartenders. I still had to request water and drink refills as I am eating the pizza. It's definitely worth a try, just be prepared to wait a bit for drink refills.

I had a group art show at this place planned by ThumbUp Gallery. During the show, my husband and I had dinner at here, we noticed here's style is very similar to URBN in north park. I think I'm pretty sure they are the same owner. We loved URBN, their pizza is huge and they taste amazing in a very reasonable price. We ordered 4 maggio, it was 4 cheese, which is amazing. I highly recommend this one if you are a cheese lover. Their salad is delicious and very cheap. $5 for a small one. It's impressive.
