Google
This is number 7 taco truck ad I am trying all that I can find to find the best on different categories. Their carnitas and Al pastor were spot on full of flavor as I have had their tacos before and have had trouble finding them again till I got a schedule of green acres and they were there. They have the most expensive street tacos at 4.00 per taco. Yes they are good but so far with the previous 6 taco trucks I have found the same limd of tacos at a much better price in the ranges between 2.00 to 3.00 ranges. Not worth the price at this one.

Google
Located right by the fountain in the village Basilio’s tacos has fantastic food and great service. Their steak and cheese burrito is a meat lovers dream. It’s definitely worth a try!

Amanda

Google
Went to the village for some shopping ordered some fish tacos and for what I paid I am was shocked with what I got. Three small tacos with a sprinkle of fish, half a slice of tomato and a dab of lettuce. It was the worst and saddest fish tacos ever. Really nothing I couldn’t do at home in 10 minutes. Will not go here again.

Google
I ordered a burrito supreme and it was very bland with not very much variety inside at all. Seemed full of refried beans. I even went to the counter to check that they gave me my correct order. On top of that, somehow it ended up being over $18? Why?? I couldn’t finish it, and I love food.

Amanda

Google
This place made it to the middle for me, but it didn’t impress. I’ve been here twice and leave with the same feeling every time. The first thing to point out is how expensive it is. I bought 5 tacos and a burrito once and it was nearly $20. Now, $20 for a great meal is a very reasonable price, however this was not a great meal for that price. The burrito was bland, no to mention as flat as a plate. I had to eat it with a fork. No big deal, but i think it could have been stuffed more. The tacos were delicious, but again expensive for the price. And the elote was cold both times I got it. Second, they charge you a fee for using your debit card which isn’t too much of a problem, but it’s annoying. I understand if I were using a credit card, but I find charging a fee for a debit card unreasonable. I also get businesses pay a fee to process debit cards, but (1) that is a cost that comes with operating a business, (2) the high prices they charge for cheap food should already cover that, (3) having your customers to pay for your operational costs seems shady and greedy. Probably won’t return. Not because it isn’t good food, it is, but you can find exceptional Mexican foods at other trucks for a much better price. Try Tacos El Rey in Meridian, or Adelitas off Federal, for authentic, delicious, reasonably priced food.

Google
I see a lot of people complaining about price, it was not the cheapest tacos but in their village location it makes sense considering the amount they are most likely paying for rent. I ordered three steak tacos and went back for more! Very delicious and the guys made them quick and I should have taken a picture but I devoured them too fast!

Google
Ordered through door dash. Thought it was a bit expensive but wanted too try since the reviews were good. Definitely a disappointment. The portion size is small. Fits in a plate plate. Horchata was not very cold and no ice. Good was not very hot but that's not a knock on then as it was delivered. Flavor was just ok. Have an odd amount of tortilla shells and no parsley, or other sides for the tacos. Only salsa for one of the dishes ordered. Would likely try somewhere else next time.

Google
Unimpressed. Carnitas was flavorless, Al pastor was tough. The Cabeza was soft and silky, but seasoning was weak. The Tripa was good, I asked for them to make it a bit more crispy and they did that well. Priced way too high for this quality. $28 for 8 tacos? If I lived near here I would gladly drive to Nampa to get better/cheaper tacos. Salsa Verde was bland. And- only a single tortilla per taco. Rarely am I disappointed by a taco truck, ironic that they claim to be the Best Taco in the Treasure Valley.

Yelp
We just moved from Meridian to Boise (a few miles) and ended up being a few minutes from Bailios Tacos truck! We got some street tacos, the steak and cheese burrito, and the eloté. The street tacos were just ok, kind of basic, but that's kind of what street tacos are. Definitely add a bit of lime and guac to them. The steak burrito had a bit more flavor, but could use some salsa to make it pop, so make sure and get some extra if you don't have any at home. The eloté, however, was the best thing there, bar none! Sooooo good, satisfying, perfectly spiced, and fresh! The corn kernels were juicy and delicious. I would go there again JUST for the eloté!!! It makes a great snack on it's own...perfect for summer! If you get the opportunity to give these guys a try, I say do it. It's a quick, inexpensive meal, and it will satisfy you....but don't forget the eloté!!!!!

Yelp
This place is great! Great little taco stand! Super great service, consistent, great authentic Mexican food. The street tacos are to die for! The red salsa I can pretty much drink! It's delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Best taco truck in the area! I'm from California and my husband is Mexican and we are continually disappointed with Mexican food in the area, but this place is a winner! Great and friendly service too!
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Great food and service. We love this place for good and reasonably priced food. Try the Gringas

Alysha R.

Yelp
Ordered a burrito and received a plate of meat with 5 corn tortillas and no sauce that it says it comes with! Decided to eat it bc it got delivered and I was hungry and it was awful! Meat was dry and chewy!

Yelp
I was very excited to try this food truck. I had it once at Hyde Park St. festival and it was absolutely amazing.!!! Today My Wife and I decided we wanted to try it again cause it was so good. And I have to say I'm super disappointed we pulled up and no one came to the window so I knocked on it politely. And it was like I inconvenienced them. They're special as enchiladas with rice and beans for today however they had no tortilla shells for the special so I'm not sure why it was even on the board. We ended up ordering eight tacos and was given a total of $47 For 8 Little St. tacos. We corrected him which again made it feel like it was an inconvenience to let him know that couldn't be the price it was corrected. We were allowed to sauce, which were maybe a tablespoon each. It was just so disappointing and so sad. I'm just really bummed out. I don't recommend this place only because I've never felt like I've inconvenienced someone so much in my entire life.

Yelp
Tacos were a little small but it tasted AMAZING definitely go again. The people who serve there is chill, and I don't know why people don't go there... they have good tacos!

Yelp
I get the desire for authentic tacos, but this place is a hack! I'm gonna preface this review as someone who is from CA (no- I didn't move to ID, I was just visiting). After being tired of Thanksgiving leftovers, decided to give this place a try. Don't. Waste. Your. Money. Yes, the meat was delicious, but the portion and "extras" were nil- especially for $3/taco!! I can get bigger tacos for $2 with the same quality of meat in Seattle!! We were given one hot sauce, and a scattering of pickled carrots/jalapeño. All six tacos were on one paper plate- that should tell you the size of them. I was optimistic, but clearly someone who appreciates authentic Mexican food has not eaten here. Just don't.

Yelp
I've had this food truck bookmarked for a while, but I don't frequent the area much. It's on a dirt lot in front of the Albertsons on the corner of Lake Hazel/Five Mile. I stopped late one afternoon about 4pm, so not a peak busy time really. There was only one person there ordering just before me. I ordered street tacos, one of each Asada, Carnitas and Pollo. I had a question, but there was no way the guy taking my order was going to answer it as he shrugged his shoulders and said he only spoke Spanish in Spanish. The guy who ordered before me got his food after about 10 minutes, so I figured my easy 3 street tacos would be up quickly. I was wrong. After what felt like a long 15 minutes, I went up to the window to ask how much longer, but again, he didn't understand my question. After 22 minutes, and me pacing at the window wondering how on earth it could take this long to prepare tacos, I was finally given my order. Here's the bummer, the tacos were not even that good! Having gotten one of each meat, I couldn't really taste any difference in the meats. All on the bland side, I didn't use any salsa because it was my first time eating here and I didn't want to mask the meat flavor. Unfortunately, I will not be going back here again. There are other taco trucks I like better anyway. I chose 3 stars because it was an average experience.

L S.

Yelp
i order Asada tacos at Taco truck at green acres, these were not asada tacos at all it was over cooked and was like a cut up steak, with no resemblance to mexican food. i took one bite and took it back to them. What a waste of $ money, i would not suggest any food from them

C S.

Yelp
SLOW. It took 29 minutes for 3 carnita tacos (no sides, just tacos) at the Green Acres food truck park. I think they lost my order and never apologized or tried to make it right. Once I got them, they tasted good, but not amazing. A bit greasy, even for tacos. Street foods like tacos should be fast...Each taco was was 2 tablespoons of meat on a tortilla with raw onions and a wedge of lime.

Alex B.

Yelp
It makes me sad to say this, but I had the worst nachos of my life at The Village - Meridian location. Way too many chips, BARELY any cheese (which was an odd combo of mozzarella and some cheese sauce), a ton of lettuce for some reason, the meat was barely okay and overall tasteless. My wife and I were so bummed about it. I'm not sure what they were doing. We've had Basilios Tacos a couple other times and they were alright. Nothing great, nothing spectacular, they were just okay. This time was deeply concerning. Nachos are simple. Chips, cheese and meat. Huge swing and a miss.

Yelp
Overrated. Wildly reviewed and not worth the money. This is clearly a place which caters to the uninformed. The carnitas were dry, burnt and stringy. The fish taco was like ground up fish fillets, cooked way past any hope of having flavor. At $2.50 per taco with ONE dried out street tortilla, not two fresh ones, this is by far the worst truck tacos in the world. The spicy salsa was watered-down and bitter. Disgusting. Just look at the outrageous pricing for the other items on his menu. How much does a burrito cost?

Genna L.

Yelp
it was the BEST burrito I've ever had. when I say LIFE CHANGING I'm not exaggerating, the workers were SO nice. and the truck had seating and very festive and fun.

Jason J.

Yelp
Foods delicious, service and consistency is severely lacking. Seems as if the children are running it now. Portion consistency is lacking, honoring operating hours, quality of salsa is a surprise. I've spent so much money here over the last decade, what it's turned into is a joke. I should be able to spend 18$ and feel satisfied, these burritos should be on a dollar menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, quick service. Everything I have tried has been good, never disappointed. The tacos and burritos are simple, but very tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Al pastor in the Valley!!! We have a running joke that whenever we can't find my brother, he's in line for Basilios Tacos. Whether at a music festival, a fair or a farmers market, when we see this truck we know what we're eating.
google avatar

Yelp
I door dash ordered the Pambazo and 3 Enchiladas de queso. The first thing i noticed about the Enchiladas was the color. They were practically black with char. The filling inside them wasn't bad, but the tortillas tasted like burnt and soggy bread which i didn't even know was possible. The Pambazo on the other hand was absolutely dreadful honestly, i get that it's supposed to be soggy since it's dipped in enchilada sauce, but the sauce itself had a burnt flavor. The meat inside was dry and had practically no flavor as well. I expected it to be nice and gooey with cheese and genuinely don't think they even added cheese. The only redeeming factor was the rice and beans, and even then the rice was undercooked.

Yelp
This place knows how to do tacos!! I'll add my 5 star review to the ones before me. I just wish it wasn't a half hour drive from Eagle!!
google avatar

Alicia R.

Yelp
Oh my God when I saw this taco truck is rated as Boise best I was shocked. The rice has no flavoring has nothing to do with Mexican rice it's basic white rice with a little bit of tomato sauce and that's it. Their steak is horrible. I have lived all throughout Mexico and know the flavors of the true Carne Asada. This meat is not marinated at all. They do not even make their tortillas homemade. It is a negative for me 100% you need flavoring and good quality meat and you have to marinate marinate marinate everything. And if you are true taco truck you make your tortillas from scratch. If not you are not a true Mexican.

Yelp
My wife and I had the desire for awesome Taco-Truck-Tacos tonight, so we did some quick Yelp searching, and found a truck we wanted to visit. However, when we got to the location we could not find the truck. This is a well know risk that all Taco-Truck-Taco hunters like us are very familiar with. We understand that the truck owners may be away, may change location, may rotate with other trucks, may swap between multiple locations, etc. It's all good. But as we headed back down Fairview, we saw Basilio's Truck. Screech...Swerve...Stop, and we are in for dinner. We were given a friendly greeting, and I instantly loved the place. Of course, I almost always instantly love all Taco Trucks (almost), and the proof is in the food itself. My wife an I both got three tacos: One beef, one pork, one chicken. The cook also gave us two sauces; a red spicy sauce, and a green mild sauce. We both chose the red, because that's how we roll. I'd have to say that the tacos were pretty good. The chicken was the best of the three. The beef was a little dry, but still pretty good. The onions, cilantro, lime, and tortillas were all good, and the spice red sauce was really good. All in all, a decent taco. I don't know if we will make this a destination to go to in the future, but if I was driving by and hungry for tacos, I would certainly stop again. [ Whoever invented the door knocker deserves the no bell prize. ]

Yelp
my family and i came here tonight i spent $40 dollars for an incorrect order, went back and spent 15 minutes trying to communicate what i wanted. got my food just to have it be incorrect again. if you don't know spanish i would not recommend coming here. there is a strong language barrier for sure.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican food that was great tasting and included vegetarian options. The horchatas are great tasting too. Portion sizes are good for the price. The customer service is great however the wait was a little longer than expected. There is some shaded outdoor seating available for those who which to stick around.

Yelp
Great mexican take out. My go to place for quick Tacos. Salsa has good flavor.

Yelp
I'm obsessed! Not only are they so close to home but these are the best street tacos I've had since moving from Cali! Definitely will be back... and I think I'm going back for seconds already! Meat was perfect flavor. Also loved the red and green sauces!

Yelp
I am so sad to write this review. I stopped by today to grab lunch after going to my doctors appointment. Since it shares a parking lot with this food truck I was very excited at the idea of having delicious Mexican food so close. I should have read the reviews. I looked over the menu and decided to order a carne asada street taco and a bean and cheese burrito. Oh and of course I had to get a Mexican Coke. The total came to just under $10. I sat at the picnic table and waited for my order to be called. My order was handed to me on a single 8" paper plate. It seemed rather small for both a burrito and taco, but I hadn't made a judgement yet. I sat down and removed the foil.....sigh...the disappointment started to creep in. The street taco had a single tortilla with no color whatsoever. The carne asada looked DRY! I look a bite and had to spit it out. The meat was like chewing beef jerky. I tried searching through the taco in an effort to find a piece of meat that was edible, but no luck. I moved into the burrito and it wasn't much better. The beans were tasteless and super dry. The good thing about the burrito was that the tortilla was nicely toasted and the cheese was good quality. On top of everything, my Mexican Coke was warm. I asked for ice, but they had none. She apologized about the Coke being warm and said that they didn't fill the cooler until today. So, the search continues for a delicious, authentic Mexican food truck in Boise.

Yelp
This taco truck pulled up outside Barbarian Brewing/Meriwether last night and it caught my eye initially because it looked like it had a picture of shawarma meat rotisserie on the side (initially making me think it was a middle eastern food truck). I've since learned it's called "Al pastor" which is basically the Mexican twist on shawarma (introduced by Lebanese immigrants) but using pork instead of lamb. Anyways, my point is if you go here, you NEED to try their "Pastor" meal. It comes with a plate FULL of the most delicious shredded pork covered generously with melted cheese and I think 6 soft tortillas. You load the pastor into the tortillas with a fork, drizzle one of their two AMAZING salsas (the red is legit hot: trust me I love spicy food) and devour that meaty, cheesy, spicy slice of heaven and you'll wonder if this is the most legit Mexican food you've ever had in Idaho. In fact I'm trying to think if I've ever had this good of Mexican food anywhere but actual Cancun/Cozumel. I will say we also ordered five assorted tacos and those were also amazingly delicious. However, it was the pastor that blew me away. I convinced a few of my friends at he brewery to go try the Pastor and I'm pretty sure all of them them had a similar near-spiritual experience while eating it. I will be back, I'm sure the other things on the menu are also amazing, but I'll always order a side of the Pastor.
google avatar

Gary A.

Yelp
The food is just ok and way overpriced. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito and it had a little speck of meat and beans. So many more decent places to get a good food truck burrito. Save your money and shop around!
google avatar

Dylan L.

Yelp
Fantastic authentic Mexican food. The carne asada is to die for. Too bad they don't have a brick and mortar location, I'd definitely host an event there.
google avatar

Nick P.

Yelp
This is based off one visit, 3 tacos, and omitting the overall demeanor of the staff. The tacos were extremely tasty and the hot sauce was indeed hot, but delicious! Glad I had my big water bottle though and would recommend the mild to the average Boisean. I don't expect super friendly people when I get food but it adds to the experience at places like these, maybe they were just thinking this Gringo is toast with the hot sauce.
google avatar

Gigi W.

Yelp
Typically really good place but this time I ordered my food and instead only got 8 tacos. I ordered a special that comes with rice and beans the guy said okay and that's what I was charged for. Once I got my food it didn't have the rice and beans. I just wanted what I paid for and the girl told me I had to pay for it again. This is ridiculous. I already paid for it once and was requested to pay again. Done here.
google avatar

Chuck S.

Yelp
Excellent DINKY $2 street tacos. If you eat 6-8 you might get filled up but be out $12-16 dollars. Red sauce is muy caliente so taste before pouring it on. Rice and beans are 'meh'.
google avatar

Mandi S.

Yelp
My daughter insisted that my love of all things taco truck had to meet this love affair. Boy was she correct. I do have to mention that I actually visited the truck that parks on Fairview by Hartman street. It obviously a newer truck. Holy goodness was the flavor of the el pastor simply amazing. I also found that all of their meats are perfectly seasoned, not bland like I've witnessed at some other local spots. Super quick service too which is a plus.
google avatar

Audra R.

Yelp
The only Taco Wagon in Boise I will eat at! This place is the best, the quality is great and the food is awesome, I would drive across town come to Basilios cause they are hands down the best!
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
Went for lunch with a colleague today; I had 4 tacos and a soda, he had 3 and a soda. Tab was $15 all-in. This is a pretty high-end taco truck,, with a nice covered picnic area to eat next door. The tacos were good, the service was fact and friendly, and the salsa was also quite good. I'd definitely return. I gave this 3 stars, vice the 4 I gave Tacos El Rey, because the tacos here are a little smaller, and cost $.25 more. If this truck was closer to my office, though, it would probably be my go-to taco truck. The presentation was nicer as well...a tomato slice and pickled jalapeno piece. If you're nearby, it's worth the stop for lunch.
google avatar

Marni M.

Yelp
We've tried to come here 3 times and finally made it. Each time it was closed. It was disappointing. The steak and cheese burrito was full of fatty meat that resembled grizzle. Skip the nachos, my homemade microwave nachos are a step up. Tacos ok but too small. We both felt not great after eating.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
My favorite Taco truck. They have Pescado and Carnitas and they are both delicioso. The fish is kind of chopped up and the breading all toasty and nutty. The shredded pork it roasty and peppery. These two types of tacos are little more expensive, but worth it. The green and red sauces are both excellent. I can't decide which one I like better. They are open from lunch until 8PM. The name says it all, these are Mexican tacos, folks, not to be confused with Mongolian tacos.

Melanie G.

Yelp
This place is terrible!!! The one and only time ordering food from here last summer (before the swampy parking lot) mid-day, went for tacos, rice and beans to-go, the lady handed me my order and was laughing and not speaking English, after my 3 minute ride home, I found my order to be leftovers from two weeks ago, dry crusty, tasteless meat of some sorts, same with beans from a can two weeks ago and rice from a box would have been better!!!! All went in the trash, I guess that's why the "lady" was laughing, I didn't know I ordered "take out garbage" from them!!!!! So now while getting fuel at Albertson's you can see the Taco Truck with swamp water up to the axles, parked in a swamp of a parking lot!!! How clean is that???? YUM who's laughing now!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Had to change the name based on what I saw when I went there today - Basilio's - let's see if Yelp approves. =P Sorry David F. As for the taco truck... Perhaps I'm searching for a dream that once was and will never be again. I remember biting into my first carne asada taco truck taco back in high school - we had just finished a rehearsal and the soft corn tacos complimented the perfectly seasoned meat so well - and the only thing else on it was onions and cilantro... how I love taco truck tacos - I've been a fan ever since! But then, alas, they picked up their coach and left and I never found them again... thus whenever I see a taco truck these days, I can't help but try it out =P That being said... Since I may be outta Idaho for good in a few weeks, I decided I'd try a few more places before I leave. Today, based on David F's review, I drove out here for my lunch hour and tried four different tacos: Pollo - The best of the four - it looked a little pink, but it was well seasoned and tasted great (hopefully I won't regret the pink later =P) Pescado - a $.75 premium on top of the regular meats (pollo, asada, etc) - not sure if this one was worth it. Mine was a bit bland upon first bite, but got more seasoned down to the last bite which just tasted waaay over salted =/ Tripas - another $.75 premium - this was was more evenly seasoned throughout - but the whole thing was a bit too salty. Otherwise, it was a decent tripas taco Lengua - ever since I tried my first lengua taco, I've always tried one. This one was nice and tender... but unlike the first two - way under seasoned =/ It tasted great with the green sauce, though =P This had a $.50 premium on it. So does it stack up to my epitome of taco trucks? Nah... but it's okay. I'd save the extra $.50 and $.75 and go for the pollo. If the asada are as good as the pollo, I think you're probably better off getting a taco or two extra instead of getting the "special" meats since the "regular" meats are only $1.00. =P Oh - canned drinks are $1 and bottled $1.50.

Yelp
Carnitas burritos with the salsa verde is the way to go. So tasty! Worth the wait. And the increase in price (due to meat shortages). Friendly staff!

M H.

Yelp
Definitely nothing special about this taco truck. Prices are a little much for the food. The tacos didn't have much taste. Definitely was hoping for a better experience based on other reviews.

Melissa R.

Yelp
What can I say, we usually have a great experience here. The last two times not so much. And this last time, all I can say is wow. We ordered eight carne asada tacos, those were good as usually. Really how can you make a bad taco with meat, cilantro and onion. It was the floutas that completely disappointed. Our floutas were full of onion which is not normally in them and they had two tiny pieces of chicken in each one. When I say tiny, I mean tiny. The size of dimes to a nickel. No avocado on top, old lettuce over all horrible. I'm so completely disappointed because this was our go to taco truck close to our house. Like I said in the beginning we usually have an amazing experience here and now we may never go back. So, so disappointed!!
google avatar

Kalyn S.

Yelp
I love taco trucks and have tried them across the Country- this is my first visit to Basilio's and I'm definitely coming back again. I ordered carne asada and a tamale - my BF ordered chicken. The meat was freshly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Single tortilla. The BEST part about my visit was the tamal .. I wish I would have ordered a dozen! It's one of the best I've EVER had- the masa was seasoned and it was really good. I prefer more cilantro on my tacos, the green avocado sauce was perfection. Dont miss out on this truck!

Yelp
Had the Pambazo Al Pastor. The seasoned pork wasn't too spicy (I do enjoy a lot of spice). Tender and flavorful. A constructive criticism would be more OF it. At $8.00 it could have used a touch more, but the flavor was nice. The bread was lightly grilled. Not enough to hurt biting through, but just a touch of a crunch. The bread was also light and chewy, a definite plus. Would recommend and would definitely get again.

Yelp
We live close by and finally tried Basilios taco truck. We ordered 2 burritos, one chicken and one el pastor and chicken nachos. The burritos were huge and delicious. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The tacos were AMAZING!!! The service was also very fast. I will definitely be eating here again. Only 'complaint' I have is the portion sizes are pretty small but still worth the price.

Yelp
ok, NOW we have finally found the BEST Mexican food in all of Idaho. First experience was at the State Fair, this place is located next to Alberstons on Lake Hazel and Five Mile. Tortas are the best, real spicy. Cant wait to try the entire menu
