The pizza was ok!
If you're looking for a Sicilian pizza in Austin, I'd say this is the spot to try. I haven't heard of many other shops that serve this kind of pizza. However, if you're looking for New York/Detroit/Chicago quality Sicilian pizza, this is not it. Nevertheless, I think it's an okay nearby option.
I did a make your own pizza with chicken, peppers, and pineapple. The red peppers were interesting and new, which I liked. The serving of sauce and cheese was generous. The edges of the crust were crispy. However, the bottom of the pizza was soft, and I wish it had also been crispy because that would have taken it over the top for me. The bottom of the pizza was too doughy and soft for my taste.
The size of one pizza is huge! The pizza is 4 large squares, and if you're eating sides, one slice can be super filling. If not, two slices will definitely do the trick.
Prices were really good for the amount of food you get. I believe the pizza I made on my own was about $16.
No comments on service or ambiance, as I ordered to go.
Overall, I think its a good spot to go if you're craving the Sicilian style pizza, but I probably wouldn't get it again. While I appreciated the large serving sizes and good prices, the pizza was just not flavorful or memorable enough for me to want more of. Overall, I'd give it a 6.5/10!
