"Batch Craft Beer & Kolaches serves, well, craft beer and kolaches. And sometimes they even offer a beer brewed with kolaches. These are the best kolaches in town (and klobasneks, if you want to be that person)—the bread is soft and airy, and the fillings are pretty generous. Try the sausage, jalapeño, and cheese for something a little more classic, or get one stuffed with sliced pepperoni and cheese (it’s basically an artisanal Hot Pocket). Then finish with a chocolate pecan caramel or a PB&J dessert kolache for the full experience. Inside can get a little busy with people camped out on laptops during the day, but there’s also a massive patio out back that’s great for enjoying your meal with a little fresh air." - nicolai mccrary
"The Mueller brewery/bakery/restaurant has proven to be wildly popular with both the neighborhood set and beer aficionados. While the kolache bakery is the understandable draw for some, there’s a very eclectic lineup of beers ranging from “PB&J kolache-inspired” fruit beer to a New Zealand black IPA. A wide variety is the point: the brewery prides itself on experimentation, with a mix of clean and wild beers to satisfy disparate palates. There’s also coffee here, an outdoor play area for kids, offerings from food trucks (currently Parish Barbecue and Bummer Burritos), and, of course, the beloved sweet, savory, and breakfast kolaches (which do run out as the day progresses). The indoor area also has a small stage for live music." - Erin Russell
"Operates as a partner and host to the food truck operation, providing a walk-in cooler for storage and prep and hosting the truck behind its premises. The owners also collaborated on a Berliner Weisse-style beer intended to pair with barbecue, with plans for seasonal flavored variations and bar-driven syrup add-ins." - Courtney E. Smith
"The MLK cafe is perfect for beer geeks, boasting a bar with rotating taps and a shop full of 400+ bottles and cans, with an emphasis on microbrews. Those looking to drink in the store are more than welcome to with a corkage fee (or take advantage of the no-corkage-fee-happy-hour). It also serves kolaches stuffed with local barbecue from Micklethwait. Grab a seat inside the mix-and-match dining room or on the patio out back, and try as many types of beers and kolaches as your tummy can take." - Nadia Chaudhury
"A Cajun approach to Texas barbecue from the manager of Michelin-starred Interstellar BBQ, serving dishes like smoked brisket po’ boys, pulled duck, smoked boudin, and the Texas trinity of brisket, pork ribs, and sausages." - Erin Russell
