Batey Farms

Beautiful and tasty berries! I highly recommend it. The drive to this farm is also beautiful so enjoy the ride and not just the produce. Follow their Facebook page for updates regarding the U-pick schedule and whether they have pre-picked baskets available for sale. They also have jams and preserves for sale along with fresh eggs, cured and fresh meats, and local honey.

We went there in May 2021 to pick Strawberries and it was an amazing experience for my family n friends. My 2yr old enjoyed picking Strawberries which were delicious btw. Very clean farm,friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. 😍 we made lots of jam and shakes from picked Strawberries 🍓

Good prices and great strawberries! I love that you get to keep the basket too! It’s a great spot for pictures, and it’s just super fun! A full basket like this one will cost you around $20 (it was about 5 lbs of strawberries).

Handpicked some strawberries with my Mom. They're so fresh and sweet! A visit to this farm should be a regular part of everyone 's summer itinerary!

I love this place they have some amazing strawberries the only thing I would change is I'd make a middle row that goes through the strawberry field so you and go down different rows when you don't seam to be liking the row your in.

Good place to spend some time with family. Berries were good and they have good meat products too.

So, a couple of late springs ago, I was eager to get out of the house. I thought that I knew what stir crazy was (ha). The answer was soon (and so so much later) to come. When walking around the block was no longer sufficient to satisfy my 'getting out' needs, I... went online and bought my strawberries remotely. Fruit picking from April to October has always been something I've enjoyed about the area and knowing that that pastime was going to stay in the past, I pivoted -- as did the folks at Batey Farms. I've been north, south, west, and east in my search for fresh produce outside of Nashville. Surprising to me, I had yet to go to Batey Farms. I think I'd planned on going with a friend who lived in the area but we put it off thinking we had plenty of time to do it later. Oh, box of plagues and troubles that was opened lo so many years ago (at this point)... you never fail to disappoint and stress. So, I wanted strawberries. I wanted fresh strawberries. I didn't want to buy overpriced strawberries from the supermarket that were coated in pesticides. I didn't have a lot of choices. Many u-pick farms were shut down and discombobulated. Thankful that someone in the Batey family is a crafty zoomer (millennials are old/40s now; youth is new), they had a system in play. Go online. Pick the amount of berries you want. Pay. Arrange a pick-up time. Drive to the farm. Sit in queue. Verify your order with a number. Pop the trunk. Deliver berries. Leave. Granted, a lot of the fun of local produce is spending time outside and picking the best berries but some things can't be helped. I was just grateful that someone thought up a workable system. One caveat, though: the ordering system was/is a bit Mad Maxish. Berries sold out. Fast. Think of it as a berry version of trying to snag seats at the Bluebird. Don't wait until the last minute or think the first time out will satisfy your itch. Patience is definitely a virtue.; that and expert internet-fu. I ordered. I hit the road on a Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed a leisurely drive. I drove through a neighborhood. I arrived to orderly chaos. I gave my number. I popped the trunk. I got my berries. I left. Super efficient process. No (reasonable) complaints. I drove home and studied my berries. I had a fair amount of 'I would have picked these' berries so no (fair) complaints. There's nothing like the real thing but as we've learned -- and, are still learning -- to get through life one must pivot. Strawberries makes doing so all the sweeter. And, to be all the way truthful, if I could remotely pick my berries I think I might prefer this system. This year, we'll see if I can resume the hunt. If not, at least I know how to scratch my itch. Came here with the family and picked strawberries. The staff was very helpful and nice. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the reality of knowing where they are coming from. I'd suggest anyone to come check it out!

This review is actually for the facilities and facility manager of the Grove at Williamson Place, an event venue connected to Batey Farms. My sister in law had her wedding here and my other sister in law and I were responsible for set up and decorating. We had a very limited amount of time to prepare and I cannot speak highly enough of the cooperation and friendliness of Marshall, the facilities manager. He allowed us in no less than 3 times prior to the wedding to discuss ideas, measure the venue, even do dry runs of decorations. He was always beyond friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed to make our event a success. Marshall was enough to make this an excellent review, but let's not forget to mention that the venue itself is beautiful. Rustic and natural, as they have left many of the original elements of the working barn it once was, but well designed for elegant events. The second level catwalk with drink ledge is a fun place to overlook the festivities and provides a unique vantage point for photos. The bathrooms are large and fit the overall feel of the barn perfectly. I know bathrooms aren't usually a selling point, but it points to the attention to detail. The rental also came with access to the house which had plenty of private space for the wedding party to get ready. There are separated areas for bride and groom and their attendants with large public areas to gather and nosh before heading down the aisle. I highly recommend The Grove to anyone planning a special event, just book early! The word is getting out, and it's filling up fast.

Not sure if this is "as good as it gets" since it was my first time at a pick-your-own (PYO) strawberry farm, but we filled a big basket of strawberries for ~$13 and life was a bowl of berries for the next week. Some of the tastiest berries I'd ever eaten and certainly the freshest in about 30 years (since when I was a little kid and used to grow strawberries right outside the back door of our house). Batey's gives you a basket to keep - and if you bring it back next time, you'll get a small discount. From their website, it looks like Batey's year-round business is selling its own pork. I can't speak to the quality of their pigs, but if it's anything like the quality of the strawberry patch, I'm sure it's stellar. PS - Be sure to check the map on Batey's website for information on how to access the strawberry patch. Just plugging the street address into your GPS won't quite work http://bateyfarms.com/strawberries/ PPS - This may be an obvious point, but strawberries are not available year-round. In fact, I think they're only available for picking for a few weeks, usually in the April-May time frame. Jalapeño honey mustard is awesome! Jalapeño pepper Brotz are great too. Uncured pork cottage bacon.

I absolutely love this place they have a beautiful sunflower field that you can Rome through and take photos and people there are really nice

Well, this may or may not be accurate because I have not actually been. Two Fridays in a row we have tried to go and they have been inexplicably closed. It was a blessing in disguise though, because it gave us the opportunity to drive back out to Valley Home Farm, and it reminded me just how much I love them.
