Fresh, fresh, and fresh!
After I learned that they opened up a shop on Belmont, I really wanted to try it for myself. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and received a friendly welcome by Jay. He took the time to explain his menu and we were sold on the batter tacos $12.99. There are other things like catfish sandwiches, fish and chip burritos, and other fish options for fish & chips. All sounded so yummy, but we were really eyeing the tacos.
After we ordered, we waited a bit for the food to come out. Two tacos served on a bed of fries. A couple of bites in, you can taste the crispiness of the batter and the juiciness of the fish. Although the fish was deep fried, it did not taste oily. Each bite of the taco contained fish; no batter fluff. I also really enjoyed the fries too as it was lightly salted, meaty and not greasy at all. Jay came to check in and explained that everything is made fresh in house. Fresh cut potatoes, never frozen and fresh cut cabbage slaw. The fish is battered and cooked when an order is put in, hence, a little bit of a wait, since it is freshly prepared.
Inside or outside dining is available. Parking might be a bit difficult due to street parking only. Accepts cards or cash. Friendly service. I will be back to try the fish and chip burrito!! yum!
