Beautiful building that functions as a ferry station. The station has a ticketing counter (cash only), restrooms, and not much else. For food and drinks, head to the Staten Island Ferry Station next door. The ferry to Governors Island is SEASONAL and dependent on when the island is open to the public. Check the Governors Island website for the schedule. The ferry ride takes 15 minutes and a roundtrip ticket costs $2.

Cool old building and the ferries are cheap even if you miss the free ones on weekend mornings.

Waiting room is large and quiet. Ferries to Governors Island always arrive on time, and purchasing tickets is a fast process. Restrooms are also available here.

I take the ferry to and from Port Liberté every day - the absolute best commute into Manhattan. 13-15 minutes from Port Liberté to South Ferry near Wall Street. The service is reliable and friendly - if you run up as the boat is pulling away from the dock, they'll come back for you! It's the most fun when the water is rough and stormy!

Although tucked away, and sort of lost behind a highway turnabout, the classic architecture still stands as beautiful and inspiring. It could definitely use a nice cleaning and facelift, but it certainly doesn't take away from its majesty.
