"Right where the Lafitte Greenway meets Bayou St. John in Mid-City is a big compound formed by Bayou Beer Garden and Bayou Wine Garden. The related (though separate businesses) share a massive courtyard, where the crowds for both spill into each other while watching the latest game on TV or digging into heaping piles of fries, burgers, and wraps. You might also get lucky and score a couple of pounds of freshly-boiled crawfish from a vendor out back, who pulls right into the parking lot to serve the masses. Just remember that the bars have separate menus, so take a walk around to scope out your favorites amongst the extensive list of beers and wines on tap and by the bottle." - chelsea brasted

"Officially Bayou Beer and Wine Garden, inclusive of its next-door sibling, this wildly popular Mid-City complex attracts all manner of canines and their humans for outdoor fun and imbibing. An array of 30 beer taps, including plenty of local IPAs, is one big draw. Another is the wine on tap, dispensed by the glass and the carafe. Our two favorite spots are the wine garden for some moules frites and sangria on tap, and the beer garden, where we like to post up for a burger and an IPA.
