The Gayest Dish on the Menu, According to 10 Queer-Owned Restaurants | Eater

"An Easter cake reimagines a hyper-feminine, religiously associated bake with a campy, fey twist — think traditional celebration cake pushed into demented, subversive territory. The result is intentionally theatrical and slightly strange, described as an Easter cake that John Waters might appreciate." - Jaya Saxena

Ordered the peanut butter cake and the chocolate chip cookie dough cake. All of the cakes came frozen with frost on them. It is not advertised in this way. They tasted like a freezer. Not edible and I would never have paid $10 a slice if I had known. I wish I would have come on google before ordering. I have no idea how they have 4.2 stars on UberEats. I'm genuinely concerned over food safety and the fact that Uber told me I was ineligible for a refund makes me question their integrity.

I wish I had read the reviews here before ordering. By the time I saw the reviews, if I canceled my UberEats order, it was going to charge me anyway. So I figured, "What the hey. I'll give it a shot." First of all, none of the food looks like the photos you see on UberEats, just FYI. The beignets are unlike any I have had before. Their croissant-like form was not necessarily a deal breaker but it's not really what one expects when ordering beignets...but they also had some kind of...spicy aftertaste? My best guess is the same oil was being used to fry up something that was a little spicy. It was weird to taste. The powdered sugar was also just sort of thrown in the bag with no lid. The fact it didn't completely spill was sheer luck. The fries leaked oil through the bottom of the bag. And the cake, which was at least edible, was definitely cold in a "just defrosted" sort of way. Beware - this ghost kitchen inside Melba's is not worth the hype.

I used Door Dash to order a tres lèche- the only gluten free item on their menu. The DoorDash delivery arrived and instead I received a tiramisu. The receipt reads correctly- tres lèche- but the item is NOT a tres lèche. I HAVE CELIAC DISEASE, and am ALLERGIC TO FLOUR. Thankfully I knew better then to eat what they sent me, or I could have become VERY SICK. DoorDash refunded me- but it’s not about the money- it’s about healthy and safety.

Ordered 6 different cakes. Carrot cake is missing half the frosting and the other half is the thinest frosting I've ever seen. The chocolate torte and NY cheese cake slices are no wider than a fork. All taste like they are frozen, not fresh. I've had better at Golden Corral and Perkins.

Just ordered from Uber eats. Delivery was nice. Very fast and smooth but the desert is trash. It’s literally frozen. Tresleche is hard like old frozen ice cream and same with the chocolate torte. Sorry but it sucks can’t eat this and for the price would never.

What in the Big Easy is this mess? Frozen pecan pie with undercooked crust. I wouldn’t eat this if you paid me. New Orleans deserves better. UberEats and DoorDash reviews have to be fake. Ain’t no way people gave this 4+ stars on average with hundreds of reviews.

I've ordered many times from Bayou Sweets. I enjoy the Tiramisu and a couple other things I've tried. However. My past two orders of Tiramisu THIS WEEK I have been sent something else that is frozen - a spoon cant even shave off a pice of whatever it is - and obviously not what I ordered. It goes straight to the trash. I won't be ordering from this establishment again. Ever.

The beignets were warm and super flaky so much better than cafe du mind. The bananas foster cheesecake was very good and not overly sweet just the right amount
