I wish I had read the reviews here before ordering. By the time I saw the reviews, if I canceled my UberEats order, it was going to charge me anyway. So I figured, "What the hey. I'll give it a shot." First of all, none of the food looks like the photos you see on UberEats, just FYI. The beignets are unlike any I have had before. Their croissant-like form was not necessarily a deal breaker but it's not really what one expects when ordering beignets...but they also had some kind of...spicy aftertaste? My best guess is the same oil was being used to fry up something that was a little spicy. It was weird to taste. The powdered sugar was also just sort of thrown in the bag with no lid. The fact it didn't completely spill was sheer luck. The fries leaked oil through the bottom of the bag. And the cake, which was at least edible, was definitely cold in a "just defrosted" sort of way. Beware - this ghost kitchen inside Melba's is not worth the hype.
