bbgourmet Boavista

After leaving a very bad review with regards to the Bbgourmet in Boavista due to very poor service and attitude, the manager Jorge Santos came back to me and REALLY made it up! He told us to choose a time and day with complimentary drinks and desserts. Since we were now renting in the city centre we went to the one in Bolhao where Leticia greeted us (very efficient manager!) after Jorge had booked a table/slot for us. Once again the food was delicious (and carefully cooked due to my wife's pregnancy) and of course we had their incredible chocolate dessert. When we will come back one day to Porto we are definitely coming back ! Thanks to all the BBgourmet team

We had the pleasure of enjoying our very first Francesinha, and it was an exceptional culinary experience. The seabass was exquisitely prepared—remarkably fresh and perfectly cooked. Our delightful host, Ms.Juliana, extended such warmth and gracious hospitality that it truly elevated our evening. We are deeply grateful for the care and attention that made this night so memorable. Thank you for making our visit truly special.

Really lovely place to have a few drinks and great food. They have IPA on draught and all the food I saw coming out looked fantastic. I had to have my first Francesinha and wow was it amazing! Highly recommended. 94€ (plus a tip) for 3 of us, all with a few drinks and a main course. Great place.

We had two huge and tasty franchesinjas and barely could eat them! Our waitress Juliette was very friendly and attentive and took good care of us, thank you Juliette! We came back the next day to the downstairs bakery (they have a wonderful selection of sweet treats there) for cake and orange juice but were a bit dissapointed to have them served on disposable plates. Obviously the bakery is only meant for takeouts.

The food and atmosphere were great. Wine was also very good ! And thank you Anna for your help on the menu and for your excellent service !

We had a fine meal, which was beautifully served and exceeded all expectations. The restaurant was recommended as a good diner, which did did not do it justice. Both the roast suckling pig and the spicy shrimp with pasta were excellent. The rose wine was a delightful surprise as well. But the real.treasure was Anna, our server, who was wonderfully kmowledgeable about the ingredients, preparation and even the history of the food and drink, it was like having a culinary guide. Additionally, she was so attentive and friendly that she made our evening a great time. We would definitely return.

If you go to Porto, this restaurant is a must!  The food, wine, and desserts are unbelievable.  This restaurant doesn't bill itself as a gourmet restaurant,  but they should.  I have traveled to over 50 countries and eaten very expensive meals that couldn't hold a candle to this place. It is out of the tourist zone, so you aren't likely to find anyone other than locals.  However, they are so excited to see foreigners that they will bend over backward to help you.  Additionally,  you will pay the same price as the locals.  We had two main dishes, two glasses of wine, and two fancy desserts for $50. The wait staff is adorable, too. They took their time to help us pick our meals based on our personal preferences, and they paired both the dinner and dessert wines perfectly with each selection.  Our main waitress, Ana, even took the time to give us a detailed history of Port wine and how it helped to launch the region economically. She was very bright, energetic, and genuinely happy to help. In all of my travels, I have never eaten at the same restaurant twice... until now.  This place is the whole package. I give it my highest recommendation!

We are here twice for lunch. We enjoyed the hot chili shrimp appetizer and the salted cod cakes. Very tasty. As a main we both had salmon and on our second day I had the shrimp risotto. The idea was a good one just sadly someone had a heavy hand on the salt. The salmon was lovely. My only hesitation to give a higher rating is value for dollar. We found nearly €60 for lunch a bit pricey.

Nice restaurant with cozy atmosphere and decent food for reasonable price. We went there on recommendation from our hotel concierge and was fairly happy with the choice, specially when compared with other walk-in choices
